Title: Wedding ideas.
atlantis - April 6, 2008 11:34 AM (GMT)
On the 6th June 2009 Marx and atlantis are getting married!! Glee!!
But seeing as Marx is so far away and that the wedding is in England, Lani is getting dragged into a traditional style wedding!! I don't know why i didn't ask before but any ideas you guys have would be FANTASTIC!!
Our theme is Butterflies and the colours are black, white and red.
Ideas on:
- Readings during the ceromony
- Music to be played
- Invitation wording
- Any pictures you find you think will inspire
- Flower choices
- Inclusive ideas to add comics to the day
- Tiara ideas
- Hair styles
- Humourous jokes or quotes to help Marx with his speach! (haha)
- Everything else!!
Marx - April 6, 2008 01:02 PM (GMT)
:thatguy: Do I have to give a speech? How about this? Instead I give everyone storyline ideas I have for YJUTT at that time. Whattaya say?
mad-libbs - April 7, 2008 06:24 AM (GMT)
Well, my knowledge of the English language is rather large and verbose....so if you need help writing the invites...or ideas....I am available.
As for pictures....I dunno if you have your dress picked out but I found something that goes with your colors
http://www.ecvv.com/upload/product/C200612...ing_Dresses.jpg Also there are some wedding favors that are butterfly shaped, though I'm sure you could spray paint them.
http://www.verybestweddings.com/onlinestor...s/10-1866-l.jpgAs for flower choices, white or red roses seem cliche, but they might work.....otherwise I'd say white lilies and red carnations.
atlantis - April 7, 2008 08:37 PM (GMT)
Wow i love that dress!! I especially like the capped sleeves, I'm still torn between a red dress or a white dress...i found two i like but i cant explain about them or Mark will read! Its so hard keeping that a secret!
I think i'm covered on the invitation information front, i'm keeping it really simple...though closer to the date i may want help wording the 'we want money not gifts' part...
But ideas for readings!! from songs....poems...that bit from star wars...anything!!Might be best if i told you my plans!
I have white lilypad style invites that i'm putting red butterflies on with crystal 'flight' dots, tied with a black ribbon and with the information printed on red paper inside.
I already bought the favour boxes, they're black to be tied with a white ribbon and white to be tied with a black ribbon and to fill them we're going to get black and white m&ms with our names on and also the date from the website.
For place names i found these fantastic butterflies that sit on the glasses, also in black and white.

...And some confetti. Black & silver dots and silver butterflies.
I found a person on the net that sells 7 tier perspex cake stands so i need one of those, and we're going to have chocolate and lemon cupcakes instead of one big expensive cake...not completly black and white i know...
Bridesmaids are going to wear black dresses with white somethings...maybe roses, my flower girls i've already got their dresses which are white and cute! and i'm thinking either having them carry a big red gerbera

or a basket of petals to throw (hopefully at my mother.)
This is where we're getting married, The Conningbrook in Ashford. the picture doesn't do it any justice, theres this huge circular pond to the left of the picture that i would have included! plus at the end of this summer there will be a refit so everything will be shiny and new for us!!

More news to come, especially after my ultimate bridal shop mission around the rest of Kent on wednesday!! I'm so excited i could explode!!
mad-libbs - April 8, 2008 08:36 AM (GMT)
ah um song? try. "you found me" by kelly clarkson.
oh as for monies, do the money dance at the reception. it's where the guests pay to dance with the bride or groom in cold hard cash. though the amount is up to them, it is a great way to get moolah
Marx - April 10, 2008 09:56 AM (GMT)
Oo I like the money dancing idea. <.< Though I should probably learn to slow dance shouldn't I? I doubt headbanging or the Napolean Dynamite dance would be appropriate. Oh, and I bought some magnetic "Save the Date" cards yesterday with butterflies on.
NM Savant - April 10, 2008 06:59 PM (GMT)
Wedding Song? "The Bad Touch" by the Bloodhound Gang lol
Marx - April 10, 2008 07:38 PM (GMT)
lol There's a no naughty songs rule. Or I'd suggest a certain Nine Inch Nails song. :P
atlantis - April 11, 2008 03:47 PM (GMT)
I heart our save the date magnets!! And we're thinking 'The Reason' by Hooberstank for our first dance, mixture of rock and slow. Or 'Feeling Good' by Muse or maybe 'Brown eyed girl'...maybe.
But my dance with my dad is going to be 'Sweet child of mine' by Guns and Roses!! Legend!! or maybe something by Queen...
mad-libbs - April 13, 2008 08:31 AM (GMT)
For you and your dad Lani, you could try Aerosmith "Don't wanna miss a thing" Steven Tyler wrote it for his daughters, and if I could have the dance with my dad, that's what I'd pick. But to each his/her own.
And Nick, remind me never to let you choose the music at my wedding.
atlantis - April 13, 2008 10:39 AM (GMT)
hmmm...i don't know about over in the states but here thats a total couple song...would be a little weird to dance to it with my dad...plus we want more of a rock tune.
I just bought a 7-tier perspex cupcake stand!! yay!! It was cheaper to buy my own than to hire one! Crazy!!
Marx - April 13, 2008 12:19 PM (GMT)
All Hail Ebay! *looks around then goes off on a dancing tangent* Sweat Baby! Sweat Baby! Sex is a Texas drought. Me and you do the kinds of things that only Prince would sing about. *jams* Oy...I really need to reboot...even the task manager's being weird...O.o
atlantis - April 13, 2008 08:18 PM (GMT)
Carry on like that little lost stylus and you will be spending your wedding night alone :lol:2
....and you were going to reboot yesterday....
NM Savant - April 13, 2008 08:22 PM (GMT)
*Doesn't care if anyone hears him* You and me baby ain't nothin' but mammals so let's do it like they do on The Discovery Channel.
Marx - April 13, 2008 08:23 PM (GMT)
lol I'm lost? And I forgot to reboot last night...I was distracted by comics... Darn their addictiveness! I did reboot this morning though.
atlantis - April 13, 2008 08:28 PM (GMT)
Don't worry, i'll do my best to find you :D
And you know...Females eat the males....plus they eat their own young on the discovery channel....
Marx - April 13, 2008 08:30 PM (GMT)
Not if you're a lion. If you're a guy Lion you get to chill, look intimidating and have an awesome Disney movie made about you while the females do the hunting.
atlantis - April 13, 2008 08:32 PM (GMT)
....but you would be a spider...
NM Savant - April 13, 2008 08:33 PM (GMT)
Marx - April 13, 2008 08:33 PM (GMT)
lol Wouldn't I creep you out then?
atlantis - April 13, 2008 08:34 PM (GMT)
Yes but i would be a spider too, just to make you scared that i would eat you.
Marx - April 13, 2008 08:36 PM (GMT)
But wouldn't you be scared of yourself then? I'd be too busy going up and down walls going "Spider bug! Spider bug! Does whatever a Spider bug does!"
atlantis - April 13, 2008 08:39 PM (GMT)
but i'm assuming that i would have always been a spider so i wouldn't be that freaked out...and imagine how many pairs of shoes i could wear at any one time!!
NM Savant - April 13, 2008 08:40 PM (GMT)
Marx - April 13, 2008 08:41 PM (GMT)
Well that's why you wouldn't eat me. :P If you did you'd have to carry all your shopping bags. lol And spiders aren't creepy. They're just misunderstood.
NM Savant - April 13, 2008 08:44 PM (GMT)
They have 8 eyes that lead to hell.
atlantis - April 13, 2008 08:44 PM (GMT)
Spiders are misunderstood and very very creepy!! all the legs moving at once...gah!
I think i would rather be a butterfly...you might only live for like 6 weeks in total but you'd be colourful and floaty!!
Marx - April 13, 2008 08:48 PM (GMT)
But it'd be spider Hell. It's full of plants and cute little duckies...and...no...wait...that's the swamp.
lol You know to be butterfly, you'd have to be a catterpillar first.
NM Savant - April 13, 2008 08:49 PM (GMT)
Caterpillars can be cute.
atlantis - April 13, 2008 08:50 PM (GMT)
But being a caterpiller would be awesome!! you get to eat for days then sleep for ages too. lol, you'd be a gheto catapilla'
kidflash3 - April 13, 2008 09:00 PM (GMT)
Well, first of all Mark and Lani, I would like to say that I am (still) SO PROUD OF YOU BOTH!!!!
I love the dress idea and the butterflies look awsome!
Marx - April 13, 2008 09:44 PM (GMT)
Damn straight I'd be a ghetto cattapilla! I could freestyle while bobbing up and down on leaves...you know...if I had the slightest rapping ability...
kidflash3 - April 13, 2008 09:47 PM (GMT)
if I could be an insect I would be a Centipede!! All those legs, plus you could be poisonus at the same time!!
atlantis - April 13, 2008 09:50 PM (GMT)
Yo homies i'm a bug,
I'm as big as godzilla
but i ain't no reptile,
I'm a freakin' catapilla!!
Marx - April 13, 2008 09:52 PM (GMT)
lmao! Okay, how about you write for me and I do the wrapping. And KF3 could be the beat maker, with the uber legs and all.
atlantis - April 13, 2008 09:56 PM (GMT)
lol, so you want me to write the christmas tags while you wrap the gifts? sounds like a plan!! And KF£ and NM can hold the wrap and stickytape!!
Marx - April 29, 2008 09:57 PM (GMT)
Oy! All the citizenship drama! Think we got it worked out for the most part.
atlantis - May 14, 2008 05:50 PM (GMT)
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!
Still don't know what dress to get.
The save the date magnets are awesome.
Still don't know what dress to get.
I feel like firing a pushy bridesmaid...but i won't *sigh*
Still don't know what dress to get.
mad-libbs - May 15, 2008 03:57 AM (GMT)
have you gone dress shopping? do you know what style you like? do you know if you want just a white dress?
Marx - May 15, 2008 09:54 AM (GMT)
From what I've been told. Yes, kinda, and yes. ;) Am I right? No clue about the specifics though.
