Title: In The End
Description: Harm's Origin

Will was sitting in his room by himself as he looked around at the various things in his room. He was getting a little bored, he'd have called Cassie but he knew she was in class right now. So he picked up his guitar and began to strum one of his bands' old songs. He'd been doing that a lot lately, ever since his link with Cassie in Hell he'd felt much more guilty of all the deaths he'd caused, including his band. As he played, he looked at his room again, more and more it was looking like the room he saw when he went into the future. He remembered how he felt when he went into the room, the evil that resonated from simply stepping in, it was almost like a part of Hell that had been taken out.

He remembered what his older version said to him. He said not to rush it, but when the time came, he'd have to embrace his evil. He wondered if this future would come to past, it made him shudder when he remembered the look of the gash that Greta had gotten on her stomach from Doomsboy. He began to wonder how it all came to this point, he kept playing as his mind drifted back to when Burt and Ellen Hayes decided to pick him out of the kids in the orphanage.

Burt looked around the orphanage with Ellen as they saw the one boy by himself in the corner. Burt looked at the caretaker, he felt a little sorry for him. "What about him?" He said nudging in the boy's direction. The caretaker glanced at the boy then back at Burt and Ellen. "That's William. I don't think you want him, especially if you have a little girl already. As you can see he tends to be by himself. He's actually been to a few foster homes, none of them worked out." Ellen looked at the boy and walked towards him. "Hi William, my name's Ellen." The boy slowly looked up with an expression of suprise. "Billy." was all he said before putting his head back down.

"Oh? Sorry about that Billy." Ellen then sat down next to him and gave him a warm smile. The caretaker gave a look to Burt as he put his hands up in his defense. "Once she's made up her mind it's hard to talk her out of it."

Will snapped back to reality as he head a bunch of noise going on outside of his room. He rolled his eyes, it was probably Supersonic and Kid Flash racing again, they always ended up even, there wasn't a point in it. He thought back to when Ellen talked him into living with her, he felt bad once more. If only she'd listened to the caretaker and chosen another child, it would have saved them all from the dark future they was going to happen.

As the happy parents took Billy into the car, Burt looked back at him. Billy hadn't said much, but he just figured he was shy. "You know, now you're going to have a little sister. She's only 2 years younger than you, I think you two will get along great." Billy looked up that them as he followed them to the car. "Really? What's her name?" He thought, so far these people seemed pretty nice. But they always seem nice when they first get him, as soon as they get to the house they'll end up showing they're true colors. He looked back at the orphanage to see one of the cats there hissing at him. 'I'll be seeing you soon enough.' Billy thought as he sat in the car waiting for a response. "Her name's Greta, she's a little shy too."

'Greta? Isn't that the name of the girl with Hansel in the woods? Hm, an only child. She'll probably hate me, think I'm coming in to take her place.' Billy sighs. It was always the same. Ellen noticed Billy's sigh. "Hey, how would you like to go to the toy store before we get to the house?" Billy's eyes brightened slightly, this was a first, but he still didn't want to get his hopes up. "Um, ok." He said quietly. As they stopped at the toy store, he didn't know what to expect. They walked him to the action figure section. "Pick whichever one you want." Billy's first thought was 'Only one?', but then he remembered that it was one more than he'd gotten in any of his other foster homes. He looked them all over until he saw one of a gray monster, wearing a blue costume. The action figure itself looked pretty cool but what really drew him to it was the awesome sword that came with it.

"Can I have this one?" He said, his voice a little louder than it'd been previously. Ellen's face looked on the toy in dissaproval. "That's the one you want?" Burt suddenly laughed. "What did you expect, he's a boy. Sure son, that's not a problem." Billy inwardly jumped as he heard Burt call him son. 'Hm, I might have to get used to it.' He then wondered if that would be a bad thing, for the first time in a long time, he actually smiled. The smile didn't pass Ellen's attention. "Was that a smile? I told you, you'd enjoy living with us." Billy shrugged as they rang up the action figure. 'Only time will tell'

"Only time will tell." Will said outloud. "If that wasn't a huge understatement."

Marx - April 22, 2004 12:22 AM (GMT)
As Will played one of his strings broke. He groaned, "Uuuuugh. Just perfect." Will looked into his closet and got one of his spare guitar strings. He then restringed it and kept testing the string until the tuning was right. After that, he began to play a different song, and his mind started to drift again.

When Billy first saw the house, his first thought was 'Wow.' although he didn't realize that he also said that thought outloud. Burt and Ellen both looked at him and smiled as they let him in. He was getting a little nervous, he knew he was about to meet his new sister...for however long he stayed. Then Burt yelled, "GRETA! GRETA! WE HAVE SOMEONE WE WANT YOU TO MEET!" Billy gulped, 'here it comes.' He then heard her voice for the first time. "In a minute, Daddy!" It was faint but at least she sounded nice, he'd just have to wait until she finally got there. The waiting was beginning to annoy him. Ellen could tell Billy was getting anxious and hurried Greta. When next Billy saw Ellen, she had a cute little blonde girl in her arms. But the first thing Will noticed was that she was chewing her fingers, she was actually more nervous than he was, which put him a little more at ease.

"Greta I'd like you to meet your new big brother William. William, this is Greta, your little sister." Billy didn't show it but he was a little annoyed, his "mom" had already forgotten that he hated being called William. Well, he had just met them, it would take time. "Why is he here?" Greta asked, looking at Will still chewing her fingers. Burt then explained, "Remember that whole chat we had... about how there are children who aren't as lucky as you? Who don't have nice things, or even a home and parents? Well... William is like that. And now he's going to live with us. Won't that be nice?" Billy was a little suprised at the explanation, it seemed his new dad really did care. But as he looked at Greta, he saw that she had an expression of total horror on her face as she wiggled out of her mom's grasp and ran screaming into her room.

'She's actually scared of me?' Billy thought caught offguard by the show. Burt and Ellen were both noticably embarrassed by Greta's reaction. Billy spoke clearly for the first time that day. "Let me talk to her." He'd been through so much already, she seemed pretty sheltered, if he really was going to stay here, then he'd do his best to make sure she stayed that way. It was the least he could contribute if they were serious. He went into her room and could easily see that she was hiding under the bed. He tripped on his shoelaces a little as he got to the bed and sat down tying them as he talked to Greta.

"Hey...Gretel... Do you know what a drug addict is?" He really knew the answer, but he just wanted to hear it. "N-No... and muh, my name's Greta..." Billy sorta rolled his eyes at himself, he was annoyed at Ellen and Burt for forgetting his name and he forgot hers. "Greta... I know what all that stuff is. And grownups, they'll tell you knowing things is good. But y'now what? Sometimes not knowing stuff is better. You're so lucky you don't know." Billy began to think back at the last two homes he was at, both of them had drug addicts in them. He didn't want her to have to go through that, although for once it seemed he'd hit the jackpot as far as homes go. "And as long as I'm your big brother... you'll never know. I'll protect you from all the bad stuff. I promise. Like... well, like Hansel protecting Grettel in the woods..." He noticed she was edging a little out of the bed. "It's... It's Greta." He put his hand under the bed. "And I'm Billy... not William..."

She took his hand and they both walked back out to the parents, who looked at each other smiling, it seemed like this was going to work. Ellen looked at both of them still hand in hand. "I'll go make dinner." That night, they all had dinner and talked like a happy family.

Will hadn't thought about all this stuff in a long time. He's actually stopped playing his guitar and began looking at the ceiling while he remininced.

Marx - April 22, 2004 02:00 AM (GMT)
Will thought back to it, it's ironic that he wanted to protect Greta considering how it all ended up. He began to look back once more into his twisted past.

It was Billy's first day to Greta's school. He'd actually come to be pretty close with Greta lately. Since their moment at the bed, they'd been doing a lot of talking and gettting to know each other. As they both got to the school, Billy looked down to Greta. "I know you have friends here so you don't have to hang with me all day, I'll be alright." He said, she smiled looking up at him. "I do have a few friends, but now you're one cf them." She took his hand as she dragged him to a small group of kids. "Hey guys, this is my-" "BOYFRIEND? YOU FINALLY GOT A BOYFRIEND? AND A CUTE ONE AT THAT. WAY TO GO GRETA!" A brunette girl said interrupting Greta and looking Billy over excitedly.

"Um..." Billy got out before Greta said, "No! He's my new foster brother, Billy. Billy this is Beth." "Oh! Hii Billy!" Beth said in flirty way winking at him. "Um, hi. Are all your friends like this?" Billy said looking at Beth weirdly, slightly backing away from Beth. Both girls broke out laughing. "Don't worry, she's just playing around." Greta was able to get out through laughing. "Speak for yourself!" Beth said looking back at Billy. "Well...I gotta...get to class. I'll see you later Beth. Gretel." He said with a smirk. "Grrr, you know I hate it when you call me that Twinkie!" Billy froze in his tracks as he looked back to see Beth rolling over laughing. "T-twinkie?" "Yeah, one time for Mom bought 2 boxes of Twinkies and Billy ate both boxes all by himself, within a day." Billy rolled his eyes as he walked into the school. "Thanks a lot Gretelllllllllll, tell anyone else about that and I'll kill ya." He said with a smile as he went into school.

Everything in classes went pretty well, Billy basically remained quiet and only answered questions when he was directly asked them. As Billy went to his lunch, he noticed three boys around Greta. "Hey Greta are these-.." He stopped his sentence when he realized Greta was crying. He quickly ran up to them, and saw one of them take Greta's lunch money. "HEY!" One of them smirked as they looked back at Billy. "Whose this guy?" "Billy! It's ok, they do this all the time." she said, the tears streaming down her face. Billy suddenly felt something rise within him. "Leave. Her. Alone." Billy said glaring at all three boys. One of them smiled as they looked at Billy. "Looks like we have some more lunch money." "Please leave him alone." Greta yelled, only to be pushed to the ground.

That was the last straw, even if they hadn't threatened Billy, Greta's reaction alone was enough to make him snap. With that, Billy suddenly charged at one of the boys driving him into the corner of the wall. "BILLY STOP!" Greta yelled still crying, only this time with worry for Billy. The other two boys began to jump Billy, knocking him to the ground and kicking him once he was down. Billy swept his foot and knocked one of the other boys down. Billy quickly lept up and jumped letting his elows slam into the boy's legs breaking his knees. Billy then pulled out a pencil from his pocket and stabbed the last in the ribs. Greta finally stopped crying as she and half the school was staring at what Billy had done. "Sorry, I...I...was just trying to..." Billy looks around at the chaos he left behind.

"WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING BILLY?" Burt yelled at him. It was 5 hours after the lunch event had happened. To say that Ellen and Burt were disappointed in Billy would be an extreme understatement. "I was just trying to protect Greta, they were picking on her." Billy said looking down. Burt was still furious. "THAT'S NOT EXCUSE FOR GIVING ONE GUY A CONCUSSION, BREAKING ANOTHER'S LEGS, AND STABBING A BOY THROUGH THE RIBS! GO TO YOUR ROOM! NOW! AS A MATTER OF FACT..." Burt began to take off his belt. He didn't like being so hard on Billy, but he felt he had no choice, Billy was only 10, this behavior couldn't stand.

As Billy finally got out of the room after the his punishment, he was noticably very sore. He passed Greta. "Billy I-" She got out as he put up his hand to stop her. "I'm...alright." Bill said as he gave one last glare in his father's direction and went into his room.

Marx - April 22, 2004 10:28 PM (GMT)
As Will thought about his past he realized that while he told Cassie much more of his past than anyone else but Greta knew, he'd left out the details. He wanted her to believe that she'd seen him at his worst.

It had been a few weeks after the school incident. Since the kids had actually attacked Billy and Greta first, the school was actually willing to let him stay there. But it was completely different for them, from then on. Some of it was good, while some of it wasn't. One of the good things was that no one ever messed with Greta anymore, she was easily the safest student in the entire school, besides Billy himself. Only Billy could tell everyone was scared of him, so he left Greta alone while they were at school. She had tried to tell him that it was okay, but they both knew that if Billy stayed around Greta no one else would come near her, from pure fear for their legs if nothing else.

Billy could have easily used this fear to become a bully himself. But he had no desire to. As he passed by Beth, who had flirted with him so openly before, she also treated him differently now. Instead of the winks and smiles he'd gotten from her mere weeks ago, all he got now was a fearful look as she held her books closer and walked by him not taking her eyes off him until he was out of sight. While this would have bothered most people, Billy was used to it. As Billy ate at a lunch table by himself he thought of how his parents had found him, sitting on the floor by himself. 'I bet they get it now.' He caught Greta giving him a symathetic look a couple of tables away. He smirked and mouthed the words: I'm fine.

As Billy and Greta got off the bus in front of their house, Greta looked Billy in the face. She hadn't seen a genuine smile on his face since that day. She'd heard Ellen and Burt talking about taking Billy back, that it wasn't working out. But what worried her more was that she knew that Billy had overheard the conversation. "You...know they were just talking, you're not going back..." Greta said before the reached the door, it would have seemed random, but she knew that had to be on Billy's mind. "Yeah, I know they're not. But that's only because they don't want to prove my caretaker right." Right before Greta opened the door she looked Billy in the eyes. "Happy Birthday, Twinkie." Billy's eyes shot open as he smiled. "I told you about calling me that." He threw his backpack on the floor so he could catch up with her easier but she'd already ran up the stairs. Billy laughed, she was a fast little thing. He could hear her giggling behind her locked door. "You can't stay in there forever, then it's on!" He joked.

In the first good mood he'd been in, in a long time he went back downstairs to pick his backpack back up. When he got down, he saw Ellen waiting for him by the backpack. "I was just coming to pick it up, Mom." She gave him a slightly sad expression. "I know. Happy Birthday, Billy. I know you're disappointed you're not getting a party, but you're grounded Burt just doesn't.." "He wants to discipline me so I don't become a psycho or something, I know I know." Billy finished. Ellen was slightly suprised at his reply, he was really smart for his age. Billy then picked up his backpack on one arm and began going up the stairs into his room. As he started taking the books out of his bookbag to do his homework he noticed a wrapped box that fell out of it. "Huh? That wasn't in there before." He quickly opened the box. Inside it was a bunch of small, various, swords. He noticed the brand name and realized they were all swords for the action figure he'd bought his first day with them. Also inside of the box was a card, which read: Happy Birthday Billy. How about we keep this gift between just you and me? Billy's eyes went wide as he ran to the staircase to see that Ellen and Burt were talking. Ellen saw Billy and smiled, while discreetly putting a finger to her lips and waved Billy back into his room.

As Billy got back into his room he put the toy swords in the same box his action figure was in. He walked back to his bed and heard a sqeak, it always squeaked when he walked over that part. Billy looked at the loose floorboard. "That's odd." He picked at the floorboard for a few minutes and then was suprised at what he saw when it lifted. There was a large knife hidden under it. Billy's room used to be Burt and Ellen's, so chances are it was Burt's. "Cool." Billy said with a smile as he picked up the knife and examined it closer. The handle of it was molded into the shape of a dragon, and where the dragon's mouth opened the blade of the knife came out. "Billy?" A voice said behind him. Billy was so into the knife he didn't even notice that Burt had come in. "AAAAAAAAGH!" Billy yelled in suprise, instinctively waving the knife, and slicing Burt across the neck. Billy staggered back when he realized what he just did. "Dad? DAD!" Billy yelled as he saw Burt grasping as his neck trying to stop the bleeding, before he fell on the floor. Billy dropped the knife and went running down the stairs. "MOM! MOM! IT WASN'T MY FAULT! HE SCARED ME! HE..HE...CALL 911!"

Hours later in the waiting room, Billy was sitting down quietly trembling. Ellen and Greta tried to comfort him and tell him that it was an accident and that Burt would be ok, but it didn't help Billy stop shaking, as tears started coming down his cheeks. Ellen decided to leave him with his thoughts as she kissed his cheek and wiped the tears. The doctor came out. "It was close, but he'll be ok. An inch closer and his jugular would have been severed, it's a good thing you got him to us so soon. You can see him now, but be quick. He needs to get some sleep."

Billy choked it up and went in first. As soon as Burt saw Billy, his eyes grew wide, and the machines hooked up to him all began to beep faster. Billy sighed, that look again, the same one he got at school and the orphanage. "Dad..." His voice began to break up. "I'm so sorry, I swear to you it was an accident." Burt couldn't move his head so all he could do was look more into Billy's direction. "Don't....call me...that. You're not my son." He said as he looked away. Billy froze as he took in what Burt said, then he turned around and ran out the room.

As Billy sat in the waiting room once more Greta held his hand. He didn't look back at her, he just cursed himself by having such good hearing as he once again overheard Ellen and Burt's conversation. "Don't you think you over reacted, it was an accident. And it was partially your fault for leaving the knife in his room in the first place." "Ellen, do you really think that was an accident? Right after I whipped him? That was his way of getting even." "BURT! You're being irrational, he's only 11." "He almost killed me Ellen. He almost killed me." "You didn't see his face running down the stairs, there's no way he did that on purpose." "He's fooling you Ellen, he planned that. Even if he didn't, he's put 4 people in the hospital by accident, could you imagine what he'd do if he actually got upset?"

Billy glared at the door. 'You better hope you never find out old man!' Billy then opened his eyes wide in suprise, he didn't know where that thought came from.

Will sighed. That's when it all really started.

Marx - April 24, 2004 01:45 AM (GMT)

Everything had more or less calmed down since Burt got out of the hospital, for the most part everything was back to normal. Billy was sitting by himself at the lunchtable as usual. Only this time he noticed that four people were standing around him. When he looked up, he noticed that 3 of them were the boys who he put in the hospital a few months ago. The first thing he noticed was the one with the broken knee had healed. "What do you guys want? Want to try to beat me up now that there's four of you?" All four boys' eyes opened wide. "NO NO NO NOOOOO!" They all said at various times. Billy smirked, they were terrified of him like everyone else, but at least they were being funny with it. The boy Billy didn't recognized laughed. "I swear if there was ever a day I'm glad that I skipped school it was that one." "Day? This is your first day back, that happened months ago!" "Please! Like I was going to come here by myself after all the trouble we caused for people?"

Billy crossed his arms and repeated. "What do you want?" The first guy, the one he gave a concussion to spoke up. "Hey, name's Rip." He then pointed to the others. "He's James." The one who got stabbed nodded. "He's Eddy" The one whose knees were broken. "And the guy you don't know is Goth. Actually we're kinda...making a band. We wanted to know if you'd join." Billy looked at them with a confused expression. "Why me? It's not like I can play an instrument or anything." Billy said, keeping his confused expression. "Well, basically...you scare the Hell out of everyone, if you joined it'd automatically make us hardcore." Billy's eyes went wide and he suddenly started laughing. His laughter was noticably freaking out the four guys. He then looked them all in the eye. "So basically, you want to use me to make yourselves seem stronger." Billy said giving them a sinister smirk. "Y-yeah." Billy thought about it, his family kept saying he should try to make friends. He shrugged. "I don't have anything better to do." All the boys sat down at the table with smiles on they're faces. "Oh, one more thing. If you guys are using this as some reason to jump me, I swear what I did to you before will look like a love tap compared to what I'll put you through." His tone made it impossible to tell if he was joking or not, so the boys only laughed nervously. Billy then noticed Greta giving him a concerned look at her table.

As Billy and the other boys started hanging out, they started to go back to they're old habits. They started to get money from another kid, but as they looked at Billy, he glared at them and just slowly shook his head. They immediatly stopped and let the boy go. Billy smiled at himself, he sort of liked having the power. "So? What am I supposed to be doing in this band? Just standing around scowling at everyone?" "Um, we need a lead guitarist actually." Billy raised his eyebrows. "Lead guitarist? What part of 'I don't play any instruments' didn't you understand?" "Well, we didn't plan out that far." Rip said scratching his head. Billy rolled his eyes. This was going to be fun. "By the way..." Goth started. "...you think you could hook me up with your sister?" Billy immediately slammed Goth into the wall and drove his forearm into his throat. "That answer your question?" Billy said glaring at Goth. He then heard the others whispering. "Are you sure about this? This dude could cause a lot of harm." Billy then looked back at them. "First thing, I have good hearing, keep that in mind. Second thing, harm? I like that, we should make that the band's name." The boys all looked each other and smiled. "I take it back, we did make a good choice."

Even though, Billy didn't know how to play, he was doing pretty good. The other members gave him a few lessons, and he caught on really fast. When they took a break they began talking about they're various visits to the councelor. "Of course I met her, you don't put 3 people in the hospital, without seeing her." "Yeah, but I don't mind too much, she's pretty hot." The boys all began giving each other high fives. "You know, I kissed her." The others stopped in their tracks and stared at Billy. "WHAT?" They all said in unison. "Well, I was getting annoyed going there all the time. So I kissed her, said that I loved her. And I never had to go to her office again." The boys just looked at each other, then at Billy. "DUDE! YOU ARE AN EVIL GENIUS!" Billy smiled. "Yeah, I know."

"Heh, if we only knew." Will thought.

Marx - April 24, 2004 10:37 PM (GMT)
Will began to smile as he thought back. It was nice to know that not all of his memories were dark and evil. There were occasional good ones, even when his father was concerned.

Billy had gotten home from practice. He'd gone into a couple of books and studied some other guitarists and was actually becoming pretty talented. He then realized that he was so busy worrying about the band that he totally forgot to do his homework. Billy quickly ran up the stairs and knocked on Greta's door twice and came in. "Greta! Do you mind if I borrow your-...your-....where did those come from?" Greta's eyes went wide as she saw Billy and quickly covered her chest. "BILLY! GET OUT!" Billy couldn't help but to laugh. "Aw, my little sister's on her way to becoming a woman, I'm so proud." "BILLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!" Billy quickly shut the door and held the handle so she couldn't get out. "BILLY I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!" Greta yelled banging on the door. Billy was laughing so hard he almost let go of the handle. "Hey, I was just trying to borrow some paper. It was breast an accident." His grin got bigger as he heard the slight pause as she caught his "slip up". Then the pounding got harder as she got more upset. "Oooh, are these those mood swings we learned about? Oh! I'm telling Mom." He said, letting go of the handle and dashing downstairs. "BILLY! I SWEAR IF YOU DO, I'M GOING TO CALL YOU TWINKIE ALL THE TIME!" Greta screamed chasing after Billy. Burt sighed as he saw the children run past him. This sort of thing was becoming a common occurence. "Billy, I need to talk to you." As Billy hears Burt, he stops running as the smile leaves his face, so does Greta.

"So, what did I do now?" Billy says sitting on the couch. Burt sighs again. "You didn't do anything son, I just wanted to talk to you." Billy looked his father in the face. "I thought I wasn't your son." He said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. Burt's head dropped. "I shouldn't have said that. I was just...scared and frustrated. I didn't mean to take it out on you like that." Billy wasn't impressed in the slightest with his father's change in emotion. "Ah, and it took you 5 months to tell me this?" "Look, no one will accuse me of dealing with my emotions in the best ways, but I am trying." "That, and you don't want to have it on your shoulders that you're the reason I become a psychotic killing machine." Billy said bluntly, glaring at his father. Burt stared at Billy for a few seconds, sometimes it was hard to tell that he was talking to a 14 year old. Burt gave a slight smile. "That, and Ellen and Greta see something in you. Something that I'm missing, I want to know what it is." "Ah, I get it now. You hate my guts, while everyone else likes me and you're feeling guilty about it." Burt's eyes open wide. "I don't hate you! But I can see how you would think that..." Billy looked at his fingers. "Nah, I know you don't hate me, but considering this is the first time you've talked to me like this since I was adopted, I couldn't let it be easy for you." Burt suddenly looks at Billy. "Wait, you mean this entire time.." "I've just been screwing with your head?" Billy gave Burt a sinister smirk. "Sure Dad, if you want to have some father/ son bonding time, I'm all for it." Burt breathes a sigh of relief. "Oh Dad, by the way, my councelor's pretty hot isn't she?" "Eh, she's okay, nothing compared to Elle-..." Burt stops, realizing that he was just tricked again, and sees his son's wide grin. As Billy walks by him, he pokes his father in the head. His father might have had questionable reasons for wanting to spend time with him, but it was a start.

Actually they did go fishing, as stereotypical as it was. Billy looked at his bucket full of fish then at Burt's bucket which barely had half. Billy smirked. "Oh well Dad, I guess the fish just like me better." Burt laughed. "This isn't over, that's just beginner's luck, that's all." "Suuuuuure it is, look, I caught another one. No more room in my bucket so I'll just put it in yours." Billy said mockingly. "Ha. Ha. Keep that up and I'll find out if you can swim the hard way. Knowing my luck you'd probably come back up with more fish." Billy laughed loudly. "Now you're getting it." He pats Burt on the back. "It's ok to accept defeat." Burt rolled his eyes and looked at Billy. "Careful Billy, if your head gets any bigger we're going to sink." Billy sticks out his tongue. "It's ok if we do, I know how to swim." They were actually having a really good time, Burt looks as Billy as his face turns serious. "I see what I was missing out on now. I'm sorry Billy." "Heh, no biggie." He shrugged. He was lying, it meant a lot to him that his father enjoyed spending time with him. "We should do this again some time." Billy suggested. "I agree, just go a little easier on me next time." Billy smirked. "Naaaah, it's all out or nothing."

As they got home, for the first time Billy overheard his parents talking about him in a good way instead of they're usual arguing. When Billy got upstairs he saw that Greta was waiting for him. "So? How was it?" She asked anxiously. "It was awesome! I got way more fish than him, and no on got they're necks slit." Greta glared at him. "Not funny." Billy smiled. "True, what's funny is this." He says as he quickly flicks Greta's chest and dashes into his room. "BILLY! JUST FOR THAT I SHOULDN'T TELL YOU YOU'RE FRIENDS CALLED! YOU'RE LATE FOR PRACTICE!" Billy poked his head out the door. "I am? I totally forgo- AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHH!" Billy fell back on the floor as he saw the huge cat that just got in his face. He soon groaned as he took the fake stuffed cat off of him, and looked up to Greta's smile. "Gotcha. They really did call though, you better hurry up."

As Billy got to the abandoned building that they always practiced at, everyone stopped playing to greet him. "Sorry I was late guys, was hanging out with my dad." Rip looked suprised. "I thought he was ticked off at you for trying to kill him." Billy quickly did a leg sweep that put Rip on the floor. "I told you that was an accident." Billy put out his hand and helped Rip back up. "So? Are we going to play or not?" With that said they began practicing their first song. As they practiced Billy got the feeling that someone else was there, but he always had that feeling when they practiced in that house. But for the first time he actually saw the shadow move out the corner of his eye. There was someone there, it wasn't his imagination. Billy stopped playing as everyone also stopped wondering what was wrong. "I know you're there. Step out." Billy said glaring a hole into the shadows he'd seen move. Slowly a figure stepped out of them. "Don't mind me. I'm simply a fan." said the man with short blonde hair that stepped out of the shadows.

Marx - April 25, 2004 02:50 AM (GMT)
'Buzz. If there was any one person who had the most influence on me it was him. Makes me wonder if I'd be where I am now if I'd never met him. Probably not, if it wasn't Buzz, it would have just been somone else.' Will thought.

Billy looked at the man that stepped from the shadows, the others behind him were literally scared frozen, but Billy was just annnoyed. "What are you doing here?" Billy demanded. The man gave a smirk that weired even Billy out. "Last I checked this was an abandoned building. None of us should be here." Billy's annoyance began turning into anger. "We know that already, but we're here. So I suggest you go." The man wasn't fazed at all by the threat. "You suggest I go? I don't see a hell of a lot you can do about it boy." Billy laughed a little. "Are you blind, there's five-.." Billy looked back to see that his other band members were still frozen in fear. "..fine! I have no problem taking you down by myself!" Billy said turning back to the man. 'USELESS! AND THEY CALL THEMSELVES BULLIES!' Billy thought to himself as he put his guitar down.

Billy then charged at the man, doing a few martial arts type kicks and gets annoyed as he realized that none of the hits are connecting, this guy's moving fast. The man then picked up Billy by his chest and slammed him hard into the floor. Billy groaned in pain as he looked back up at him. "Heh." The man then knelt down to Billy's level. "Not too shabby. You have a lot of potential." The man said looking straight into Billy's eyes. Billy sat up keeping his eyes on the man. "Name's Buzz. Now if you remember what I said, I said I was simply a fan. I meant that. You all could be huge." Billy rolled his eyes as he stood up, trying his best not to strain too much from his now sore midsection. "Right. What are you, a talent agent?" Buzz smirked. "Something like that, how about playing that song again." Billy gave Buzz a weird look, he wasn't too dangerous, if he was, Billy would be dead right now. And if he was insane, Billy would find some way to deal with him. As Billy looked back, he saw that the rest of the band was staring at him. Billy sighed and looked back at Buzz then to the band. "Let's take it from the top."

Oddly enough, they continued practicing at the house for some reason. They even got used to Buzz always watching them. He weirded out the others but for some reason he never really bothered Billy at all, he just saw Buzz as someone just listening to the music. "So, dude. What exactly do you do all day? I only ever see you here." Goth asked Buzz as they took a break. "Just because you only see me here doesn't mean that here is the only place I ever am." Buzz said, his voice sending slight chills down all they're spines. Eddy spoke up next. "Really now? Where else do you go then?" Billy smirked, normally they were terrified of him, it's about time they got some backbones.

Buzz glared at them all making everyone but Billy take a step back. "What's with all the questions all of a sudden?" Billy stepped forward. "How about because you always just sit there and listen to us play, we're curious. Spill. And don't give me any crap about curiosity killing the cat. Whenever that happened, there weren't 5 cats." Buzz gave a chilling smile. "I guess there's no harm in it. I train people." Billy's eyes go wide, as he remembers how easily Buzz took him down. "Wait, you could train us to fight like you?" Buzz gave a quick grin. "I could, and much more. What would be in it for me though?" Billy glared at him. "How about if you don't, we'll learn by beating the living crap out of you." Billy threatened. Buzz laughed. "I like you kid, you're much more fun than the others." "HEY!" James yelled. Billy looked back at them with a smile. "Right, I don't know what he's talking about. Here I thought the way you guys get freaked out around him, he'd find you hilarious." The band began sneering at Billy behind his back as he turned back and glared back at them.

It was difficult but Billy was barely able to juggle, going to school, hanging with his family, practicing in his band, and being trained by Buzz. The one odd thing that Billy noticed about his training with Buzz was that no matter how good he got, Buzz always seemed better. It was also becoming harder to hide the scars and bruises Billy was getting from the training. The rest of the band's families wouldn't have cared, but Billy knew if his parents found out about Buzz, they wouldn't let him practice and train anymore. Then came that faithful day. Billy and his band were training, but Billy seemed to be getting the upper hand on Buzz. His band began cheering and rooting for him as it seemed for the first time he might win. But, when Billy went for the finishing kick Buzz dissappeared into Billy's shadow. The band did their statue impressions again, while Billy stepped back open eyed. "Wha? What the? Where'd he go?" Buzz then materialized out of the same shadow that Billy first noticed him in, with a huge smile on his face. Billy looked at his group as they all said in unison. "Dude! You have got to teach me how to do that!"

"Trust me when I say you guys aren't at the level to shadowport yet. It would take all of you at least a year to be able to even try. But there is something else we can work on." This definitely peaked the boy's interests, they all knew that Buzz wasn't a normal person. Any chance to find out as much as they could about him would be great. "Lets start out with the easy stuff." Buzz reaches into a shadow and pulls out a sword. He then twirls the sword and drives it into his chest. Everyone steps back as what just happened sinks in, none of them could think of anything to say, especially when they realized that Buzz wasn't dead. He just kept standing there looking at them like nothing happened. "Whoa." Billy finally said, watching at Buzz pulled the sword out of him.

Buzz smirks as he looks at them. "I know. You gotta love immortality." "Yeah, we probably have to wait a year to get that too." Everyone started laughing, slightly nervous laughter as they were all still shook up by what Buzz just did. "No, immortality isn't as big of a feat as it seems. But not everyone can do it." The band stopped laughing and listened intently. "This is dark magic boys. You can't just up and do it. There has to be sacrifice." "Oh? And you don't call the butt kickings we've been getting for the past month sacrifice?" James said laughing, but Buzz didn't share his laughter this time which automatically made him stop. "Trust me boy, you know nothing of true sacrifice. And I meant a living sacrifice. But that comes later, first, if you guys are serious. We have to do a ritual." Everyone was thinking the same question but they were too scared to ask, but Billy spoke up. "We don't have to wear robes or anything like that do we?" Buzz just shook his head and walked to the corner. "Follow me." The boys looked at each other then walked into the shadows with Buzz.

The saw that they were in a pitch black room. The only thing they could see in the room was a glowing pentagram on the floor. "Step in the pentagram, and pledge yourself to the master. It's that simple." "Um, what's a pentagram? And whose the master?" Eddy asked. Even though you couldn't see him you could hear Billy's sigh. "The star and the Devil, genius!" Billy snapped as he went into the pentagram, the others followed. Billy wasn't sure how, but he just knew what to say. "I pledge myself to the Lord of Darkness, allow me to be your servant.", they all said at the same time, all feeling the same link together as he pentagram glowed more violently. Suddenly they were back in the house.

They all looked at each other slightly confused by what happened. "I believe that's enough for today." Buzz said. The boys didn't argue, they simply picked up they're instuments and left. "Except for you Billy, there's something I want to talk to you about." Billy turned back and went to Buzz. "What?" "Follow me." Billy wasn't sure what was going on, he wanted to go home, but he didn't get the idea that it was a request. After going through another shadow Buzz looked down to show that they were on top of a skyscraper.

"Why-?" "Just listen Billy. You do know the real reason why those fools hang around you right?" Billy was actually suprised by him calling his band fools, even if it was true. "They're scared of me, it's better to be on my side than against me." Billy replied. "Exactly, they serve you because they know they're below you. What do you see down there?" Billy looked down, the height didn't scare him in the slightest. "A bunch of people." "But what do they look like?" "Well, they look like ants." Buzz smiled. "Exactly. They're bugs. All of them, you're not simply above your friends, you're above them all. And I don't mean because we're on a skyscraper." Suddenly Billy began getting mental flashes of all the scared looks he'd gotten throughout his life. Billy looked down at them again, like he was looking for the first time. "I see. Wouldn't that make me above you too?" Buzz's smirk turned into a slight scowl. "You'd learn well to watch your ego." "Maybe, but my ego has merit. I can back it up. If you didn't shadowport, I could beat you." "But I can, so for right now. You are my bug." Billy and Buzz glared at each other for awhile before everything went black as they were shadowported back to the house.

As Billy walked home, he saw the people who passed him. As he looked at them the only thoughts that crossed his mind was how beneath him they all were, none of them mattered. He got home to see the worried faces of his parents. "Billy! It's 2 in the morning! I was so worried!" Ellen yells as she hugs Billy. 'Your emotions make you weak.' Billy thought not returning the embrace. "Billy? What's wrong? And where have you been?" Burt asked. Billy looked at both of them. "That's none of your concern." was all Billy said as he walked to his room.

Marx - April 25, 2004 11:45 PM (GMT)
Harm walks to the front of your computer monitor. "At this point in my flashback things are going to get a little...hectic. If you don't like reading about violence...one would wonder why you're reading my origin of all origins? That's like looking for blood in gore in Superman's origin, but anyway, the next few parts will be a little graphic, so you have been warned."

As all the members of Harm walked down the street, Billy noticed an old couple getting out of their car. Billy began to get an evil smirk as the rest of the boys wondered what he was smirking about. "Hey guys, wanna see something cool that Buzz taught me?" The boys all got the exact same smirk as they saw what Billy was thinking, looking back at the old people. Billy's face turned serious as he concentrated more, the trashcans in front of the house began to jiggle slightly, and then began to float. "Whoa." Eddy got out as he saw the trash cans floating, then they all began laughing as they saw the old couple freaking out. "Dude, you're gonna give them a heart attack." Rip said, barely containing his laughter. "If they're lucky." Billy snarled as he began to pummel the old couple with the trashcans repeatedly, to everyone's suprise. What was weirding out his band moreso than what Billy was doing, was the smile on his face as he did it, but they were all too scared to tell him to stop. "Heh, Billy. If you keep that up we're going to be late for practice." Goth stated, lying slightly. Billy looked into their faces, they didn't fool him, but he'd figured he had enough fun for now. "Fine." Billy said, letting the trash can fall on their now crippled bodies.

As they got to school the next day, all of them were beat tired. As usual, the previous day had consisted of vigorous training and dark magic practices from Buzz, wearing them down physically, mentally and spiritually. Billy was getting slightly annoyed as he heard the band members bickering at each other at lunch. "You tell him." "No you tell him." "Hey, I'm not telling him." "Don't look at me." Billy snapped at them. "WOULD ONE OF YOU. JUST. TELL. ME!" Finally Goth spoke up. "Look, Billy. This dark magic gig is cool and all, but we're out." Billy raises an eyebrow. "Out?" Goth's voice was becoming noticably shaky. "Dude. This is supposed to be fun. We're not having fun, man. Buzz keeps giving us this b.s. about us not being ready for immortality yet. But saying that it's simple. Plus...we don't like how it's affecting you." Billy glared at them all, not saying a word. "Do you even remember the last time we went to practice and actually practiced? Not since Buzz mentioned immortality. You're obsessed with it man. He's full of it. I don't know how he did that sword trick, but he's just stringing us along because he has nothing else to do." "Is that right?" Billy said, finally talking. "If everything he says is b.s. then how do you explain what I did yesterday?" "I don't even know man, and to be honest. I don't want to know, I got about as deep in this as I want to. We all did." Goth said, his voice starting to steady out some. "Billy, I'm saying this as your friend.." Billy cut him off immediately. "Friend? You seem to be confusing our relationship Goth. Maybe you all are. You guys stay around me because it makes you feel safe. And I let you hang around me because you amuse me. And right now I. Am. Not. Amused." Billy said with a stare that was giving them chills. "LOOK! If that's how you want to be fine! I don't know where your self rightous attitude is coming from, but it's getting on my nerves! You're not above anyone Billy, you're just a normal guy who can do a few things some of us can't. That's. All! We don't even need you in Harm anymore." Rip yells at Billy. Billy actually stands up and gets in Rip's face. "You think you do this band without me? I made Harm. I AM HARM!" "Fine, we'll use another name then." Goth says as they all turn they're backs on Billy and walk away. Billy sits back down glaring at them. "This is by no means over." He growls in they're direction.

After school Billy went straight home. His attitude lately had been bothering Burt and Ellen, but they figured he was just going through a rebel phase. That didn't stop them from grounding him though, although they had a feeling he snuck out anyway. They were never able to catch him though. Billy went into his room and threw his bookbag on the floor. 'HOW DARE THEY TURN THEIR BACKS ON ME!' Billy thought furiously as he lighted a cigarrete. Billy rarely smoked, but he was steaming over what his supposed friends did to him. He then saw the shadow shimmer behind him. "What do you want Buzz?" Buzz then came out of the shadows and took a seat in one of the chairs in Billy's room. "I thought you were going to take the day off and practice with your band?" Buzz said taking one of Billy's cigarrettes, even though he was in the dark, Billy could tell he was smiling. Then Billy sighed as he sat on his bed. "Nope. Let's just say that from now on, it's just you and me. That, and I have four sacrifices ready." Billy said darkly. "Four? Don't you think that's a bit extreme?" Buzz asked. "Look Buzz, I know that I'm not the only one you train like this. But I know that I will not just be another one. If I do this, I'm going to be the best." Buzz cracked a smile. "You do realize that they all say that." "I DON'T CARE WHAT THEY ALL SAY!" Billy snapped back. Buzz put up his hands. "Ok ok. As much as the master loves dark sacrifices, you do know-" "I'm not going to sacrifice Greta!" Billy interrupted. Buzz sighed. "You know if you do it right, she'll be immortal too." Billy's expression sparked up. "WHAT?" Buzz smiled again. "It's all in how you do the ritual...and who you do it to. Just imagine, since you're so close with your sister you could be with her forever." Billy smiled as the thought crossed his mind.

Suddenly Billy's door opened. "Billy..? Billy...are you talking to someone?" Greta asked through the door. "Billy, you're not supposed to be smoking. I'm gonna tell." Billy didn't even flinch. "You don't wanna be doing that, sis. Trust me on that." He knew she wouldn't tell. "That her?" Buzz asked. "Yeah" Billy replied. "Cute little thing. How you doing sweetie?" Billy could tell that Buzz was freaking out Greta, but he was still taken back by what Buzz had said earlier. "I'm...I'm not supposed to talk to strangers." Greta stammered. Billy was beginning to wonder if it was a good idea for Greta to be talking to Buzz at the moment. "And a bloody good rule that is. All right then... The name's Buzz. See there? We're not strangers anymore. Tell me, Greta how would you like to exist forever?" Billy was taken a little by suprise by Buzz's bluntness, even though it didn't show. "I...I dunno." Greta replied, still nervous. "Billy here can arrange that, y'know. I mean, he'd get something out of it too, you understand. So it's not as if he's being totally unselfish here. But just think...you'd never get older. You'd get to see everyone else you know get old and die and you'd just get to laugh at them. Doesn't that sound fun?" Buzz said getting up. Greta began to back up a little. "No. It...sounds scary." Buzz wasn't getting anywhere, he was being to blunt, so Billy tried. "Remember the roller coaster we went on last summer, Greta? That was scary and fun, right? Sometimes things can be two opposite ways. For instance: Scary and fun. Good-tasting and bad for you. Dead and alive." Billy said, starting to smile. Greta backed up more. "No... no, nothing can be dead and alive." Buzz suddenly slammed the door. "Care to bet on that?" He said with a sinister grin. Greta yelled and began banging on the door to get out. Billy glared at Buzz as he motioned for him to shadowport out. "What's going on in there?" Burt's voice asked from the other side of the door. "DADDY! DADDY, THERE'S A BAD MAN IN HERE, AND BILLY'S GONNA HURT ME, AND THEY WON'T LET ME OUT--!" Greta yelled tears started coming down her eyes. 'I knew she wasn't ready yet.' Billy said as he picked up his guitar. "Bad man? What?" Burt busted the door open. "Greta. What are you talking ab--?" Greta screamed not letting her father finish. "THERE! THERE! THAT MAN RIGHT TH--" She pointed to where Buzz had been, but he was long gone, all that was there was Billy strumming his guitar. "I dunno what she's talking about. She fell asleep on the floor listening to me play, next thing I know she's screaming her head off. Go figure girls."

"NO! DADDY DON'T LISTEN TO HIM!" Greta screamed tears still going down her face. 'I really hate it when she cries.' Billy thought. It was one of the only things that still got to him. "My window's locked, there's no way anyone could have been in here, sis. You can search around if you want." He'd already put out the cigarrette and was sitting on the box. Burt had a feeling something was up, but he couldn't argue with Billy's logic, there was no way anyone could have gotten in or out of Billy's window. "Greta, you know I wouldn't hurt you." Billy said as he strummed a few more notes. Greta began doubting herself. "I-..I don't remember going to sleep." "How about you go to sleep in your room so Billy's playing doesn't give you nightmares?" Burt suggested. Greta began to blush. "I guess I am kinda tired. I'm sorry Billy." She said as she walked out. "No problem, sis." He actually felt a little guilty lying to Greta like that, but in the big picture. It was well worth it.

Marx - April 27, 2004 01:43 AM (GMT)

Billy stood in front of the mirror. He didn't pay attention to anything, he just let the face paint glide onto his face. After he was finished he actually looked in the mirror. He smiled as he saw the jagged red and white design. It was finally the day he'd been training for. He'd finally reached the beginning of his destiny. Billy then looked down at his black, red and white outfit. "Perfect." Billy said to himself as he grabbed his two sighs, for the first night, Harm was born. But he was not complete yet, as Goth so elequently pointed out, he was just a human who could do a few things that others couldn't. But after the sacrifices were made he'd be much more. Buzz appeared from the darkness in Billy's room. "You got the look, but are you ready kid?" Harm slowly turned to Buzz. "What do you think?" Harm started his way out the window, before looking back at Buzz. "One more thing. Call me kid one more time and you'll be living out your immortality without your tongue." With that said Harm jumped out the window. "Ah, they grow up so fast." Buzz cracked as he saw Harm leave.

Lightning flashed behind him as he became one with the darkness, coming up against his first prey. He looked into James's house through the window, and twirled the sighs as he used them to cut through the window and drop into James's room. James sat up in his bed, looking at the dark figure that just dropped in his room. "Hey! Who the hell are-..." He then noticed the sighs, and recognized the form on the intruder. "Billy? What...what are you doing here man?" While James couldn't completely make him out, Harm could make out every detail of the room. He could make out every detail on James's face, and most importantly, he could make out the raw fear in his eyes. The moonlight reflected off of the sighs as Harm slowly twirled them with his fingers, without saying a word. By this time James was up and edging to the door. "Come on Billy, you don't have to do this..." "You're right. I don't have to." James yelled at the top of his lungs as Harm dashed at him repeatedly shoving the sighs into James, before pulling him by the hair onto the wall. Harm gave an evil grin as James began coughing up blood. Then, still holding James by the hair, Harm put one of the sighs onto his temple. Using the sighs he carved a shape into James's head, slightly suprised and happy that James hadn't died yet. "G-go to Hell." Harm looked James in the eyes. "I'll see you there." Harm then thrusted the sigh through James's head. He then knelt over the body as it dropped. "I make this sacrifice to Preow. Demon of strenth and speed. Accept my offering." After Harm finished those words, he heard noise coming from the house, people had heard James's screams. 'Maybe I should kill them all.' Crossed Harm's mind, but he dismissed it. 'There will be time for that later.' With that, Harm dashed out the window looking for his next prey.

As Harm came upon Eddy's house, he noticed that Eddy wasn't asleep. He had a horrified look on his face as he hung up the phone. Harm smiled. 'Word gets around pretty fast.' Harm then tapped Eddy's window with the bloody sigh. The look of horror Eddy previously had on his face was nothing compared to what was on now, as he took off for the back door. Unlike previously, Eddy was alone in his house. Harm let Eddy get out of the back door, just to greet him by flipping around the sigh and driving the handle into his jaw, breaking it upon impact. Eddy fell onto the floor. 'He's not even going to try to run again. If he's going to be that cowardly, he doesn't even deserve my blade.' Harm then flipped the other sigh, letting the handles poke out between his fingers. As he rared back, he said one sentence. "Any last words?" Harm gave a sinister smile knowing his jaw was broken, he couldn't talk, all he could do was let out the painful grunts as he had the handles of the sighs hammered into his head and chest repeatedly, breaking bones each time they struck. After looking at what he'd done, Harm carved yet another symbol, this one on what was left of Eddy's chest. "I make this sacrifice to Gneyre, demon of energy. Accept my offering."

While those two were great warm ups, Harm was really looking forward to the next two. He was pleasantly suprised to see Goth standing outside his house, arms crossed, obviously waiting for someone. Harm slowly walked up to Goth flipping the blades of the sigh out once more. "Come on Billy. I'm not just going to let you kill me." Harm gave an evil smile. "I'd have it no other way. Killing you guys off while you just scream and cry was getting so boring." Goth wouldn't admit it, but Harm's smile was really starting to freak him out. "So, you gonna keep fighting me with those blades, while I'm unarmed huh? Seems kinda cowardly Billy." Goth said matching Harm's smile. "As I told you before, I'm Harm." Harm flips up one of the sighs and holds it by the blade before throwing it towards Goth and watching it go straight through his arm. "There, now you have a weapon as well." Harm said, giving a creepy laugh. Goth pulled out the sigh and charged at Harm, they're blades caught each other, as both were going for kill blows, but Harm proved to be faster as he drove his sigh into the hand Goth was holding the other sigh in. "You know what crosses my mind? I've never attacked you, you were only going on what everyone else said about me. Tell me the truth, do I live up to my hype?" Harm asked smirking. "N-ugh!" Harm ripped the sigh out of Goth's hand and drove it through his chin before he could get out the first word. Harm pulled out the sigh and carved the next symbol onto Goth's forehead. "I make this sacrifice to Shogt. Demon of the realm of death. Accept my offering."

Harm wasn't bothering to clean off the blades, he felt the blood would only help to symbolize what he was doing. His vengeance was almost complete, only one more was left. "You don't think you can get away with this do you?" Rip said from the back of his house. Harm began to spin his sighs once more in reply. "Ok, if you've gone this far I know I can't talk you out of it, but I'm not going to go down easy." Harm then threw the both sighs at Rip's face, but Rip caught them before they reached their destination. Harm grins, as Rip imitates Harm spinning the sighs. Rip begins to throw one back but his hand stops as it rears back. Harm's grin becomes a smile puts up his hand, and Rips arms suddenly spread out. "One of the 'few things' I can do that some of you can't." As Harm begins to concentrate more, Rip points the sighs towards his stomach. I make this sacrifice to Noitaerc, one of the fallen..." "NO! You can stop it right now" Rip interupted, "It's...not...over yet!" Rip began pulling his arms back. Harm glares at him. "You bore me." Harm clenches his fist and forces Rip to drive both sighs into his gut, before finally falling. "As I was saying. Accept my offering."

Billy looked at the paper the next morning. It read that a high school student hunted down and killed 3 of his friends before commiting suicide with the same weapon. Billy smiled as he noticed all the details that they left out about their deaths. As he went back to his room, he looked into the corner. "You know, if you keep coming into my room like this I'm going to start getting the wrong idea." Buzz came out of the corner laughing. "Very well done, Harm. Only one more to go. You'd better get yourself ready for the preparations."

Billy didn't even bother looking at Buzz. For this to work, he'd have to go through Hell, but if it does. He'll be able to keep his first promise to her. He said he'd protect her from all the "bad stuff". How better than being immortal?

Marx - April 27, 2004 10:06 PM (GMT)
Will sat up in his bed and wondered why he was so willing to make Greta immortal. The answer came to him crystal clear. What's the point of being immortal...if you're alone?

Billy walked into the dark room. He hadn't been there since him and his ex-friends first met Buzz. Buzz told him that the room itself was a portal to Hell. Since he wasn't going to make Greta a complete sacrifice he'd have to do the other parts of it himself. He knelt down in the center of the glowing pentagram. "To the dark lord Satan. My master, I grant you a partial sacrifice..." As soon as the words left his mouth his body began to glow with a strange aura, Billy let out for the first time in his memory, a scream to the top of his lungs as it was all he could do to keep from curling from the pain. Through the mindnumbing pain he was going through, he could see Buzz's smile. He would have been upset if it wasn't for the pain, which was only getting worse, but Billy knew he had to stay conscious to prove his worthiness. After what seemed like forever, the pentagram finally stopped glowing and obsorbing Billy's essense. Billy forced himself to stop shaking as he stood up and looked in Buzz's direction. Buzz began to slowly clap. "Great show. To be honest, I didn't think you'd be able to pull it off." "You're....lucky I'm in so much pain right now...or I'd ki..." Billy's body finally gave out as he collapsed.

Billy woke up in his room, to see Buzz sitting in his chair. "You're finally awake. I have to say, your threats are so much more amusing when you pass out midsentence, you've got to do that more often." Buzz said with a smirk, handing Billy the same 2 sighs he'd previously used on the ex-Harm members. "Thought you might need these." Billy glared at Buzz as he sat up. "No. I won't. She deserves a better sacrifice than they did." Billy got up and put on the face paint. "Also, if this turns out to be some mind game you're playing with me, you won't live long enough to regret it." Harm walked out the door not waiting for a reply. He had too much on his mind to deal with Buzz.

Harm had it all planned out, he knew she wouldn't suffer too much. He grabbed his radio and took it into the bathroom. "BILLY! GET OUT, OR I'M TELLING MOM!" Greta yelled, covering herself in the bathtub. Harm said nothing in reply as he closed the door and plugged in the radio next to the tub. "GET-- HEY!! CUT IT OUT! THIS ISN'T FUNNY!" Harm picked up the radio. For a second he hesitated, thought maybe he wouldn't do it, but he dimissed it thinking of the reason behind it. "Enjoy the abyss, sis." Was all he said as he threw the radio into the tub. As he watched Greta scream, he knew that it would haunt him for his whole life no matter how long it turned out to be. With a sigh, he said the last incantation. "To the prince of darkness. I give the rest of my sacrifice." He then looked at the now motionless body of his sister, his stomach cringed as he left the bathroom. He then went back into his room to see Buzz anxiously awaiting his arrival, he knew Buzz had to have heard the scream which explained the smile on his face. "Take me to her now." Harm said, preparing himself to kill Buzz if he didn't. "So soon?" Buzz asked, smiling even more. Harm grabbed the sighs. "Ok ok, I'll take you. Some people have no sense of humor." Buzz says as he takes Harm into the shadows and into the abyss.

Billy nods for Buzz to leave as he looks for Greta. The Abyss was pitch black. 'If she isn't here I swear there's going to be Hell to pay!' Billy thought right as he finally saw her, curled into a fetal postion. Billy gave a long sigh as he went up to her. "Greta?" Greta's eyes shot open as she saw Billy, it was obvious she'd been crying. As much as she could cry without a technical body. "Billy! Why- why did you..?" Greta was to much in shock to even make out the question completely. Billy looked her in the eyes as his expression softened. "Greta, I know you're very confused right now. But you have to understand the reason I did, what I did." "WHAT YOU DID? YOU KILLED ME! But...if you killed me....why am I still here...where am I...how...?" Billy put his hand on Greta's shoulder, but she pulled away from him. "DON'T TOUCH ME!" Billy backed off. "Ok, I won't. I did kill you, but it's not permanent sis." "WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT! I'M! DEAD!" "Greta, if you were completely dead you would have crossed over. I pulled a lot of strings to make sure you didn't, that you'd stay in the abyss until I could take you back." Greta looked into Billy's eyes with the look she'd give a stranger. "Go back? Why Billy? So you can kill me again? Why Billy? TELL ME WHY!" "Greta please calm down. Just let me explain. I sacrificed you to the dark, but for a good reason. I said I'd protect you sis, when you come back you'll be immortal. No one will be able to hurt you anymore." Greta sat up, it seemed like she was becoming a little more used to the Abyss, or it could have been her fury at her brother. "No one? Like you? I trusted you Billy. I trusted you with my life and-..." "And life is what I gave you. Eternal life." Greta paused. "....eternal life. Billy, I'm not even going to pretend I know anything about dark magic. Until a few minutes ago I didn't even believe in it. But this isn't me Billy. I'm not like you." Billy was taken back by Greta's response. "Sis, don't worry. I took all the burden. It's all on me. You simply get to reap the rewards. By now your body's ready for you to return to it. Just come with me." Billy held his hand out. Greta stood up and began to back away. "Rewards. Billy, I don't want to live forever. I'm...sorry. I know you did a lot, but I...I..can't." Her eyes dropped. "I...just want to cross over like a normal person." Billy's eyes grew wide. "Do you...know all I went through for you? All the... Then you're going to turn your back on me too?" Greta looked away from Billy's stare. "I'm sorry Billy. Just...let me go." It was the last straw. "YOU CAN'T CROSS OVER! THAT'S THE ENTIRE PURPOSE BEHIND THE RITUAL! BUT FINE! IF YOU'D RATHER STAY HERE FOREVER...FINE!" Billy felt so betrayed, he had hoped that Greta would understand. Now she'd stay dead, she'd rather be dead than stay with him. Billy was clutching his fists so hard he was drawing blood. He then gave one last look at his sister, and gave a slight smirk. "fine."

Billy was phased back into out plane of reality as he looked into nothingness. "Heh, seems like you came back alone." Billy recognized Buzz's voice. With a Billy kneed Buzz in the stomach and took Buzz's sword. Using the sword Billy thrusted it into Buzz's chest, pulling it up until he had split Buzz in half. He then cut off the halves of Buzz's head and stabbed the sword through it onto the ground. Billy grabbed the handle of the sword with both hands as he forced Buzz's essence into him.

He finally stood up and looked at the pile of dust that used to be Buzz. "Sorry 'friend'. Wrong place. Wrong time." Billy looked at the sword, it was now his. He then turned to his table to see Buzz's cell phone. He picked it up and dialed one of the numbers on it's memory. "I want you to give me every single piece of information you have on all and I mean all of the heroes." "Wha? Who is this?" "It's Harm. Do. It. Now." "Oh you're the one with the potential, sorry, but I only report to Buzz." "If you don't do what I say, you'll end up like Buzz. Do I make myself clear!" "You mean you...?" "I'm going to ask one more time and then you're dusted." Billy said, losing his patience. "Ok ok, I'll get it right to you." "Fine, contact me when you do." Billy then put on the face paint and his outfit as he looked out of his window. "As I said before, if I'm going to do this...I'm going to be the best." With that said a new villain leaps into the darkness with no allegiance to anyone, Heaven help any who get any who get in his way.

Will laid back in his bed. He knew that the longer Greta was in the Abyss the more it would have affected her mind, which was why when the forces of good finally found her and brought her back, so much of her memory was gone. Will thought back to when they were on Apokalips. "Why do you hate me so much?" Greta had asked him, he never gave an answer. He thought back to the first day he met Greta. Something he said that day stuck out in his head. "Sometimes not knowing stuff is better... ....and as long as I'm your big brother...you'll never know." Will let out a sigh. He knew Greta didn't remember that he'd tried to bring her back himself, she turned him down, that was why he hated her so much. With her memories now, she felt as if he was some monster who never really cared for her until recently, maybe it's better for her to stay under that impression. "What's past is past. It's my burden, and as I said, sometimes not knowing stuff is better..." Will looked down to the floor. "it's much better..."
