Title: Best Movie Trilogy
Description: Pointless Movie question

Which movie trilogy do you think was the best? The epic tale of Lord of the Rings? The comical mishaps of Marty and the Doc in Back to the Future? Harrison Ford kicking ass in Indian Jones? Or maybe one of the two Star Wars trilogies float you boat?
(It's nearly 3 in the morning and I can't sleep. What do you expect?)

Hey, awright! First one to vote.
Well, as much as I enjoy the Hobbitous quests of LOTR, and the wacky hyjinks of Back to the Future, and the daring misadventures of Indiana Jones, I must go with the first, and still greatest, movie epic of all time: the original Star Wars Trilogy!
And by the way, don't you think we should wait until episode 3 comes out before judging the trilogy as a whole? I mean, sure, the first two were total stink-burgers, but I've got a really good feeling about this last one...
Seriously....
....guys...?

Surely you jest, Macbeth. I am still trying to decide whether I'm going to drag myself to the theatre to see Episode 3.
And if I don't, I'll then have to decide whether to waste my money renting it, or just wait for it to come on HBO.

As much as I loved the Lord of the Rings, Back to the Future and the original Star Wars Trilogy I have to go with Indiana Jones. Harrison Ford is the man and all three of those movies were classics.
And you may be the only one who has a good feeling about episode 3 Macbeth. While I want to see the total slaughter of the Jedi and Anakin's path to the darkside I have sinking feeling that Lucas will screw it up somehow. <_<

Oh dammit! I meant to vote in the "second" Star Wars trilogy, u know the one with Chewbbaca, Han and Luke. Although I really enjoyed The Attack of the Clones, the first holy trilogy is da madnotes, y'all!!!

Lord of the Rings, in my opinion is the best movie trilogy ever done. It has put all other movies to shame. Hell, RETURN OF THE KING got every award it was nominated for at the Oscars. The acting was brilliant, the film followed the story wonderfully, and the film was just great.
And normally Macbeth I would agree to wait for all three movies to come out, before judging it, but let's be honest. George Lucas is the world's WORSE director on earth.
Ever since he decided that he himself would direct the Episodes 1-3 of Star Wars the series has blown. Considering how horribly BAD the last two films were, it is easy to judge what the third one will be like. The only reason people want to see the last film is because they want to see how it ends. Not because they expect it to actually BE good.

Heh heh, No Matrix? No Scream? No Scary Movie? :P
Actually <_< I really liked Episode 2, though Episode 1 bored the hell out of me. And the age difference between Anakin and the Princess was just...wrong...Weird Al even made fun of it. But alas, as big of a Matrix fan I am, my vote has to go with Episodes 4-6. Haven't seen Return of the King yet. *does the Chewy growl*

The only good thing about Episode 2 was seeing Yoda kick ass. Everything else was a bore. Like Anikan and Amedala? I haven't seen that much lack of romance between characters, unless they were in two different movies.
As for Matrix... well that was just too lame for my opinion. I always fall asleep during those movies, because it gets so dull. Besides that would go under 'OTHER'
And Scream and Scarry Movie? You've gotta be kidding.
Marx - May 21, 2004 08:50 PM (GMT)
lol Of course I was kidding. Haven't seen Scream at all except for the part at the end where they're stabbing each other, and we all know Scary Movie 3 sucked so much it wasn't funny.
And true, Yoda totally made the movie, but I was kinda digging Anakin's slow decent into darkness. They shoulda showed him killing all the dudes though.
And finally, Matrix? Boring? HA! *fastforwards to the action sequences* <_< What?
Robin - May 21, 2004 09:14 PM (GMT)
I fell asleep during those 'fast action fight sequences' so... ya... in my eyes... ya... MAJOR boring. LOL. ::[help]::
Anikan always felt really pushed in the Star Wars movie. Again, I don't blame the actor. I blame the director/writter. George Lucas should never be allowed near a movie set EVER again.
