Sorry, I'm the biggest fan of A Nightmare on Elm Street, hence my name, lol. So, I got all the issues of the new version of the Teen Titans and decided to pit them against the greatest villain of all time...

Chapter 1 - The Rhyme

Cassie looked around the old street. She was wearing a red T-Shirt, worn blue jeans and white Nikes. She wasn't sure why she was in Springwood but for some reason she had to be. Maybe Ares or Zeus was testing her for some reason. She didn't know. She found herself in front of a rickety old house, gravestones littered the front lawn. Cassie walked into the yard, not sure why. She heard little girls playing and decided to find out where she really was. She looked at the girls, they were just off the the pathway. There were three in total, holding a skipping rope.
Realising how young these girls were, Cassie spoke softly, "Hey there, where are your mom and dad?" The girls stared at her blankly. "Do you live here?" said Cassie. The girls shook their heads and spoke in frightening unison, "No, this is Freddy's house." "Oh?" said Cassie, "Is Freddy your friend?" The girls shook their heads and began playing with the skipping rope, two swung the rope while the third jumped it, all three singing.

"One, two, Freddy's coming for you.
Three, four, better lock your door.
Five, six, grab your crucifix.
Seven, eight, try to stay up late.
Nine, ten, never sleep again."

Cassie backed up. She didn't know why but the song scared her. Like it was reaching into her very soul and taunting it. She stepped back again as the girls repeated the song. She heard someone speak in a rough voice, "Freddy's gonna getcha...b*tch." Cassie jumped in surprise and looked down at a pile of clothes at her feet. A red-and-green striped sweater, a battered brown fadora and a strange leather brown glove with knives attached to the fingers...almost like claws. She heard the voice again, "Go to bed and wake up dead...you'll never escape the Nightmare Man." Cassie looked around, trying to find who was speaking. She found herself face to face with the most hideous man she had ever seen. He was wearing the hat, the sweater and the razor-glove. His skin was horribly burnt and his eyes were dead blue with bloodshots on the corona and iris. She screamed loudly.

"CASSIE! WAKE UP CASSIE!"

Cassie sat up in bed, Connor was there beside her and Tim and Bart were in the doorway. They all looked worried. "I heard you screaming," said Connor in concern. Cassie felt tears running down her face and hugged Connor. She wouldn't normally cry, she was strong, an Amazon for crying out loud! But that man-monster in the dream, he was just so...scary.

Chapter 2 - The Meeting

A week passed by. Cassie continued having the same nightmare every night. On Sunday she was groggy and upset. Connor tried to comfort her but it wouldn't work. Tim had been watching Cassie and decided to take this case to the older Titans.

"Nightmares?" said Vic, "You called this meeting because of nightmares?"
"They're pretty bad Victor," said Tim darkly, "Cassie's been having them all week."
"So what?" said Vic, "Nightmares are nightmares Tim. They're not important."
"Well these ones are," Tim contradicted, "Very much. No nightmare should make someone this upset no matter what happens in them."
"Well Tim has a point," said Kory, "I think we should let Cassie tell us about these nightmares though. Maybe that will help."
Gar sat back in his chair, "What a hunk of cr*p, Cassie probably ate something and it gave her a bad stomach." "It wouldn't last all week Gar," said Tim, "Okay Starfire. I'll get Connor to try, he's got a 'bond' with Cassie so it might work." Vic nodded, "Fine but this had better not be some kinda prank. Meeting adjourned."

Tim sat at his laptop late that night, doing a search on repetitive nightmares. So far everything he had came up dry. He impatiently typed at the laptop, "Well this won't work. I'd better talk to Connor." As if on cue, Connor came into the room, "Talk to me about what?" Tim looked up, "About Cassie. You and her are kinda together right? Well I think that if you talk to her she'll tell you about these nightmares. If we can get any details I can find out why she started having them."

Chapter 3 - The Explanation

Cassie was in her room, hugging a stuffed bear to her. Her eyes wide from where she'd been trying to stay awake. There was a knock. Cassie jumped and looked at the door, "Who-Who is it?" "It's me Connor," came the reply. Cassie walked to the door and opened it. Connor saw how upset she was and stroked her cheek with his thumb, "Are you okay? Can I come in?" "Sure," said Cassie and led Connor into the room before sitting on her bed. Connor sat beside her and wrapped an arm around her waist, "Cassie, you don't have to tell me but what happens in these dreams?" Cassie seemed stung by the subject and looked at Connor, "Well..." And she told him about the dreams and about the name of her mysterious man-monster...Freddy Krueger.

Connor kissed Cassie on the cheek, "Don't worry okay? It's all over." Cassie could feel tears building up, "It's not over yet, he said he'll come back and get us all. Don't let him get me." Connor stared, he'd never seen Cassie this scared before. He hugged her comfortingly.

Tim had been hiding behind the doorway and ran to his laptop upon hearing the name and typed frantically. Google...Yahoo...Lycos...Geocities...Angelfire...for ages Tim found nothing on Freddy Krueger, "Wait..." In a sudden stroke of genius, Tim broke into the American Police Identity Database and searched. Only one name came up.

FREDERICK CHARLES KRUEGER - February 1942

Frederick Krueger, famously known as 'The Son of 100 Maniacs', was born to Amanda Krueger on the 22 of February in 1942. A worker at the Springwood Nuclear Power Plant, Frederick Krueger was responsible for the deaths of 20 children before his demise by being burnt alive by the parents of the city in 1968. 10 years later, children began dying in their sleep and it was proven that Freddy had somehow come back in people's dreams. He was made mortal when Margaret Burroughs-Krueger pulled him into the real world and stabbed him. Freddy returned 4 years later with the aid of another killer named Jason Voorhees, he was decapitated just days later. Rumours say that Freddy is empowered by fear but this has yet to be proven. Freddy's signature physical weapon is a 'razor-glove' worn on his right hand.

Tim quickly printed off the report and pictures of Freddy. "Damn hope this is right," he muttered and ran off to find the elder Titans.
