Title: Calling the JLA
Stepi01 - July 7, 2004 08:45 PM (GMT)
Hey guys,
I have an idea for a cool story line for the Justice League. All I need is some people to play the other heroes.
I know that some of you have a JLA member as a reserved character. Please let me know if you are interested.
Well I have to get going, but I'll say more later.
See ya,
Stepi01
Stepi01 - July 8, 2004 12:51 AM (GMT)
Hey Guys, sorry I seemed vague before, but for a number of reasons (including a sudden lightning storm, dinner, and a short brown out) I could not say everything that I wanted to say.
So, here it goes...
One night, in the watchtower, the Justice League gets a visit from the New God Metron. He has been sent to recruit the JLA in order to save the timeline. Metron says that High Father thinks the JLA is perfect to carry out this mission because the threat is on Earth. An exact copy of the Warlogog (The Philosopher's Stone) has been stolen from LexCorp and the rogues responsible are more than willing to use it to change the timeline and remake Earth (not to mention the universe) in their own image. However, unbeknownst to all, a far darker intelligence wants the Warlogog for himself, and he will destroy all in his way to get it.
If you're interested, let me know.
NutiketAiel - July 8, 2004 01:35 PM (GMT)
Ooh, ooh, the far darker intelligence is the Time Trapper, isn't it? I just know it, it's the Time Trapper. Yay, I solved the puzzle!! :D
In all seriousness, your storyline sounds interesting to me. The concept isn't really original, but what is these days? I fail to see how the Philosopher's Stone could do that on its own, though. Also, isn't Highfather dead? I could be wrong, but I was pretty sure I had heard he was dead.
In any case, I do not have a character in the JLA, nor would I be willing to give up one of my current characters to play one, but if this does happen Invisible Kid would be happy to help out. I mean, he's a time traveller himself (albeit an unwilling one at the present time) and has a fair amount of knowledge and expertise in this area, not to mention that this might just be a way home for him.
Especially if the "far darker intelligence" really IS the Time Trapper. Bwa ha ha ha!!
Raido XYZ - July 8, 2004 05:02 PM (GMT)
I've been hopin to get another JLA story goin. I'm playin Kyle Rayner and I'd be happy to throw my power ring in the mix.
Robin - July 8, 2004 08:05 PM (GMT)
And if anyone out there has only one character, you might applying for a JLA hero. Help the story develope and stuff. ^_^
And Jim, I seriously doubt that Time Trapper or any Legion related character is involved with the evil plan. I'm more than betting no one aside from you even thought of that. LOL. You really must let that go. Don't make us put you in the electro-shock chamber at the asylum again.
The_Dark_Wolf - July 8, 2004 08:26 PM (GMT)
Dark Wolf isn't in JLA but I like the story Idea could I join.
Ike
Stepi01 - July 9, 2004 07:27 PM (GMT)
Okay, I need to answer a few questions for people.
NutiketAiel, last I checked, High Father is dead, however, time is nothing to Metron, so he is coming from his own time in the past with this mission.
(Thanx for reminding me, I had forgotten at the time)
Dark Wolf, I have no problem allowing you to come along on the adventure.
Raido XYZ, good to hear that GL will be along.
NutiketAiel - July 10, 2004 03:42 AM (GMT)
You've just got villain envy, Alan. I'm sure that the Time Trapper is involved, because he is the greatest villain in the DC Universe. After all, who else could the far darker intelligence involved in time travelling be? HORRAY LEGION!!
I'm going to run now before them men in white jackets find me again...
Oh, and Stepi, please call me "Jim." NutiketAiel sounds so formal.
Robin - July 10, 2004 03:47 AM (GMT)
Naw, Time Tripper so so low on the villian poll that I barely even notice him Jim. Sorry, but Time Tripper isn't that great with people like Darksied and Joker out there. :P
Lets see... Villians who can screw with time, who are better than Time Tripper... Vadal Savage, Bedlam, Darksied... ^_^
*White coat men starts shooting Jim with tranqs*
"You guys are late again."
White Coat #1: Sorry, another one of his doctors took his own life again.
Couldn't handle his Legion obsession.
White Coat #2: Bingo.
Stepi01 - July 13, 2004 12:22 AM (GMT)
Okay everyone,
I've waited a few days to finish my plans for this storyline. And I am ready to start this up. I just want to know if anyone else wants to join up.
Just to recap, these are the characters:
Kyle Rayner, the Green Lantern III
Dark Wolf
and Hal Jordan, the Spectre II
and this is the plot:
One night, in the watchtower, the Justice League gets a visit from the New God Metron. He has been sent from the past by the High Father to recruit the JLA in order to save the timeline. He says that an exact copy of the Warlogog (The Philosopher's Stone) has been stolen from LexCorp and the rogues responsible are more than willing to use it to change the timeline and remake Earth (not to mention the universe) in their own image. However, unbeknownst to all, a far darker intelligence (not the Time Trapper, Jim) wants the Warlogog for himself, and he will destroy all in his way to get it.
Please, if anyone else is interested, let me know. It would be nice to have more than three people in the story, but I'll do it anyway.
Mr. Nightmare - July 13, 2004 08:44 PM (GMT)
The Green Arrow is in da house. Sure, I'll put Green Arrow into the midst of this chaos.
GA: What's new?
You shut up!
Robin - July 13, 2004 09:39 PM (GMT)
So you've got the Emerald Knights (Specter, GL & GA), but a Batman-ish kind of guy. Now what about the REAL Batman? Where's Jake when you need him?
Stepi01 - July 14, 2004 02:02 AM (GMT)
Dude, I would love to have Batman along, or any of the other Bat-people along. I have pm'ed Jake, but I have yet to get a response from the guy, but I am hoping that he would want to join in. However, if you would like to join in as Nightwing, that would be great, too.
But, I'm going to wait two or three more days to give anyone else time to respond, then I am going to start the story.
Robin - July 14, 2004 02:06 AM (GMT)
I may, but Nightwing has requested to only be a reserve member (and emergency leaderunder the request of Batman and Superman) of the JLA.
He's got enough under his belt with leading the Outsiders and his work in Bludhaven. But we shall see. ^_^
NutiketAiel - July 14, 2004 02:20 AM (GMT)
As I said, since it involves time travel Invisible Kid would be happy to be along for the ride. Besides, he's starting to think the JLA is more in his league than Young Justice anyway (no pun intended) :P .
And of COURSE the Time Trapper is involved, Steppy. You just don't know it yet. ;)
Of course, my involving Invisible Kid depends on when you are planning to start it. If it begins now, I'll have to pass since he is fighting Power Rangers in Gotham with Falcon and the Losers... I mean, Falcon and Young Justice. :D
-Jim
Robin - July 14, 2004 02:38 AM (GMT)
I don't think Invisible Kid is allowed to join the JLA. He's too young.
The youngest person ever to join the league was Captain Marvel, and thats only because Billy Baston has an mature, adult mentality when he's in Marvel-Mode.
And Jim, stop trying to force feed us Legion. If Stepi (the story's Gamemaster) says Time Tripper isn't involved, then he isn't. We don't want to gave to hurt you. (But then again... don't we? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!)
NutiketAiel - July 14, 2004 02:52 AM (GMT)
I'm not trying to force feed anyone the Legion; i would never insert Time Trapper, or any Legion character, into any storyline in which he, she, it or they didn't belong, and certainly never without the permission of the Storyteller.
And we ALL know you are just longing for a chance to send me back for more electro-shock, so no need to hide it. ;)
And, although I have no intention of having Invisible Kid join the Justice League, I also was not ENTIRELY kidding. Regardless, it's a moot point since he would never ask and it's doubtful they would invite him. On the other hand, him coming along on one mission would not be unheard of. Still, it is once again a moot point since Lyle is currently involved in the YJ storyline anyway.
Robin - July 14, 2004 03:07 AM (GMT)
Oh, not saying that Invisible Kid couldnt' get involved in the mission, but he wouldn't be given membership considering his age. I think there a 19 or 20 year old age limit now a days.
They don't want Snapper Carr repeats. LOL.
And who's denying that, Jim? Everyone loves to watch you squirm in the electro-shock chamber. Its the best form of entertainment. :D
NutiketAiel - July 14, 2004 03:19 AM (GMT)
Ummm... to the best that I am able to determine, and remember it is hard since the Legion exists in a vacuum and isn't subject to having their ages judged by comparison to other contemporary comics, Lyle and the rest of the "mainstream" Legionnaires ARE 18-20 years old.
I say mainstream because there are exceptions.
Brainiac 5 has a substantially longer lifespan as a Coluan, so we don't know how old he is.
Jan (when he was alive) was effectively immortal as a Trommite. Evidenced by the fact that he was several billion years old when he died in the second galaxy. We are unsure how old he was when he joined the Legion.
We have no information on how Durlans age, so Reep could be older or younger.
Gates is definitely younger; his insectoid Vyrgan race have short lifespans.
Ultra Boy is slightly (2-3 years) older than the rest.
Leviathan would be in the same age bracket as Ultra Boy, were he still alive.
M'onel is the oldest Legionnaire who ages on a regular human time frame- he is usually put at being 4-6 years older than the others.
Lori Morning was ten (physically in her twenties) when she first became affiliated with the Legion.
So, it is likely (I stress likely) that Invisible Kid would fit into the JLA's established age bracket. And he does have more experience than the majority of heroes his age, both as a hero and as an intelligence operative for EarthGov.
Again, it's a moot point, though, since he would never be so presumptuous as to ASK to join the legendary Justice League, and it is unlikely that they would see the need to ask him.
At least, not THIS incarnation. If the JLI were to start up again... who knows?
Robin - July 14, 2004 03:31 AM (GMT)
And that was the Legion history lesson for the week folks... LOL. :D
NutiketAiel - July 14, 2004 03:35 AM (GMT)
I hope you took notes, ladies and gentlemen- all that will be on the mid-term. Class dismissed.
In all seriousness, I have learned a great deal about Young Justice since I started at this site, and a little about the Titans as well. Consider these "Legion 101" classes my attempt to repay that favor.
And it's fun.
Robin - July 14, 2004 03:52 AM (GMT)
And for some bizzare reason... No one ever takes that class and those that do fail... I can't imagine why... j/k LOL. :D
Stepi01 - July 14, 2004 05:06 PM (GMT)
Hey Jim, keep up with the Legion lessons, I think that they are really, really fascinating. -_- That was not a joke.
On to serious news, I hope to start the JLA Story, which shamefully I still have not titled  , on Friday (by which time I will have a title).
So, everyone who wants to join can and we should have a blast (I hope). :D
No, really, we'll have a great time, I promise. B)
Stepi01 - July 15, 2004 04:00 AM (GMT)
Hey all,
So, this is the deal. I am going to start the story sometime on Friday in the JLA board, okay.
I've also got four confirmed players for the game...
The Spectre II played by myself (as well as other npc's)
Green Lantern played by Raido XYZ
Dark Wolf played by The Dark Wolf
Green Arrow played by Mr. Nightmare
I want to say that anyone else interested is welcome to come along.
Aquaboy - July 17, 2004 02:17 AM (GMT)
I wanna be involved in the JLA. I'm choosing my second hero and I have a question. What if I choose like Ambush Bug, for instance, he was never a member of the Justice League. Is that allowed?
Robin - July 17, 2004 03:09 AM (GMT)
I think I'm going to go with... huh? Who is 'Ambush Bug'?
Aquaboy - July 17, 2004 04:42 AM (GMT)
He was this really campy character from the 70's, I'm not choosing him. I just used as an example. :P What I wanted to know is must I choose a current or former member of the JLA or can I choose just about any hero from the DC Universe? ::[help]::
Robin - July 17, 2004 05:07 AM (GMT)
You may choose a former or current JLA member, Aquaboy. If there a certain character who's team placement you aren't sure about, let us know and we'll look at them.
Aquaboy - July 17, 2004 05:11 AM (GMT)
What if is a character from, let's say "Kingdom Come", I know it's a possible future but is still DC. And I'm sorry if I come across as a pain in the neck it's just because I'm new to this whole RPG thing.
Robin - July 17, 2004 05:16 AM (GMT)
No, no. You aren't being a pain. Its better you ask, than go around blindly. ^_^
It depends on which character you are interested to play. For example if you wish on playing a Kingdom Come version of a character who exists in the present (I.E. Nightwing who became Red Robin in the K.C. Universe), we wouldnt' allow that.
We don't want three different versions of the same character, you understand. That would get confusing.
Send a bio of the character you are interested to play, and we'll see, okay?
Aquaboy - July 17, 2004 05:19 AM (GMT)
Oh, cool. I'm still completely undecided!! So many choices! I'm going crazy here.
Robin - July 17, 2004 05:22 AM (GMT)
NutiketAiel - July 17, 2004 10:57 PM (GMT)
Yes, Aquaboy, there are many choices. Howeber, I can help you narrow it down considerably.
If you want to fight evil with style and panache, choose the Legion!!
If you want to fight evil with daring and gusto, choose the Legion!!
If you want to fight evil with humor and laughs, choose the Legion!!
If you want to fight evil with drama and seriousness, choose the Legion!!
If you want to fight evil with experience and knowledge, choose the Legion!!
If you want to fight evil with youth and fresh perspectives, choose the Legion!!
Yes, the Legion. Uncle Cosmic Boy wants YOU, Aquaboy.
So many choices, so many personalities, all with a cosmic flair, 31st century perspectives and a flight ring to boot!! Yes, choose the Legion!!
This advertisement has been paid for by the "Committee for Legion Equity" and the "Citizens' Council for More Legionnaires in YJUTT."
My name is Jim, and I approve this message. :D
In all seriousness, good luck choosing your characters, whoever you want to play (except Invisible Kid :P), and I look forward to seeing you around.
-Jim
Robin - July 18, 2004 05:40 AM (GMT)
And there was a collective 'OH BROTHER... Not this again...' from every single solitary person.
NutiketAiel - July 18, 2004 01:03 PM (GMT)
:D That's why I'm here.
In all seriousness, though, as much as I love the Legion and would like to have a co-defender of Legion honor in YJUTT, I am not sure I would be entirely cool with another Legion character, much less multiple additional Legion characters, in YJUTT. If too many people start popping out of the 31st century, it could strain credulity. Not to mention possibly messing up the plans I have for Invisible Kid's future.
What plans, you ask? Well, I'll give you some hints:
Time Trapper
Iron Curtain of Time
Hot Dog Bun (oh, wait, I allready did that)
Falcon
Time anomolies
Mordru
Dryer Lint
Wonder Girl
Philadelphia
Captain Marvel
The Emerald Eye
Cream Cheese
L.E.G.I.O.N.
There are your hints.
OK, I'll tell you. Invisible Kid is going to steal some cosmic cream cheese from L.E.G.I.O.N. and use it, in Philadelphia, to create time anomolies to get past the Time Trapper's Iron Curtain of Time and return to the future while Falcon and Wonder Girl, armed with the dryer lint, fight off Mordru and the Emerald Eye and Captain Marvel does the chicken dance off to one side. And I allready covered the hot dog bun.
What? You don't BELIEVE me? You think Invisible Kid isn't smart enough to use the Cosmic Cream Cheese? You think that Mordru and the Emerald Eye can overcome the Dryer Lint? You have something against Philadelphia?
:P
Robin - July 18, 2004 06:20 PM (GMT)

Riiiiiiiiight....
NutiketAiel - July 19, 2004 07:13 PM (GMT)
Wow. Could it be that Alan has been stunned by my plan?
Yeah, that's it. He's completely in awe. I'm proud of myself, now.
Robin - July 19, 2004 07:18 PM (GMT)
:P Not so much stunned as wondering if you're getting enough morphine.
NutiketAiel - July 19, 2004 07:21 PM (GMT)
:D Nope. It's shock and awe.
Robin - July 19, 2004 07:54 PM (GMT)
Nope, its feeling a great sense of pitty Jim.
