Title: Titans v. Legionnaires 2
Description: The Tournament of the Super Teams!

Here it continues, folks, the tournament inspired by the one going on right now between the Teen Titans. Who will win in this great battle between a strike force of the Legion of Super Heroes (eight, to be exact) and the Teen Titans (who also number eight- what a coincidence!).

To recap so far:
Round 1
Wonder Girl d. Ultra Boy

I'll assume, since this site is dedicated to Young Justice and the Teen Titans, that everybody is aware of the powers and power levels of those heroes. However, I know that not everyone is a Legion fan, so I will use this space each round to detail the powers and power levels of the Legionnaire in question. Also, remember- all Legionnaires posess flight rings which allow them to fly and understand any spoken language. They also posess telepathic earplugs that allow them to communicate mentally with each other, but rarely use them. Finally, they posess transuits that allow them to survive and use any powers in space or nearly any other hostile environment.

Kid Quantum II, AKA Jazmin Cullen of Xanthu, posesses the unique ability to manipulate the matter of the Universe at a quantum level. She has harnessed this natural ability in a number of creative ways including quantum spheres that explode with concussive force when she hurls them, the ability to accelerate the aging and decay of any substance put in a quantum field, the ability to stabilize or destabilize the fabric of space/time in the local region, exceedingly limited time travel capabilities under very select circumstances (this ability was just recently revealed, so the details of this power are not yet readily apparant), the ability to slow down time for limited periods around other individuals and objects (effectively putting them in a stasis field of limited duration), and the ability to fly (redundant thanks to her Legion Flight Ring). She is one of the most versatile and powerful of the Legionnaires, and is equally experienced (although she joined the Legionnaires later than most, she served as a hero of the Uncanny Amazers of Xanthu prior to that).

I know that I said that I was going to put Saturn Girl up against Raven, but if what Alan said was true about Raven being immune to telepathy, Imra wouldn't have had a chance unless Raven turned out to be alergic to Flight Rings. In my gut I still think that Alan is mistaken about that, but since I can't prove him wrong I decided the best chance for a competitive fight would be to choose another opponent.

Thus, I chose Kid Quantum II, one of the more versatile and powerful of the Legionnaires.

While I believe that Jazmin would stand a chance against Raven and would not be one to be casually swept asside like most other heroes with the foolhardiness to go against Raven one on one, I also think that four times out of five Raven would triumph, which is why I had to vote for Raven. If Kid Quantum uses her abilities in creative ways that catch Raven by surprise, she could manage to gain an early adgantage in the fight, keep Raven off balance and defeat her. Unfortunately, the chance of that is very small given Raven's intelligence and experience. I must conclude that Raven would win this fight.

Frankly, Saturn Girl was my trump card for beating Raven. Since I can't use her because of the unreseolved telepathic immunity issue, it's pretty likely that Raven is going to win this tournament. I can only hope that the first-runner-up is a Legionnaire.

Well, THIS vote isn't much of a surprise.

Come on, more people vote!! Even if it's going to be a landslide-

ROCK THE VOTE (to borrow a phrase)!!!

I promise the next one will be more competetive.

I voted Kid Quantum.

Just because I'm a Bastard.

In other word, you have no real relevant reason or explination for you vote? You just felt like ruining Raven's landslide for the hell of it?

Oh well, whatever floats your boat. ^_^

NutiketAiel - July 21, 2004 04:09 AM (GMT)
Probably the same reason somebody voted for Ultra Boy in the last one.

Tall:Order - July 21, 2004 03:29 PM (GMT)
That was me too.

Marvel-Shazam - September 2, 2004 11:42 AM (GMT)
Die Raven!!!Er that is aw the heck I um...I hate comic Raven!!

Robin - September 2, 2004 03:40 PM (GMT)
You'd be in the minority there.

Cartoon Raven is so watered down and out of original context, it just ain't funny. Comic Raven was actually intersting, what with her sordid past and her multi-layered personality.
