Title: DC vs. Marvel pt. 8
Marx - September 20, 2004 09:25 PM (GMT)
DC: 4
Marvel: 1
Personally, I know jack about either Catwoman or Electra as far as comic books go. I only know Catwoman from the cartoons, and I know Electra from the Daredevil movie, didn't see the Catwoman movie and I wouldn't base my vote off that crap anyway. :P Anyway, vote! Vote! Vote!
Sorry, no animated ones this time. :D2
Robin - September 20, 2004 09:37 PM (GMT)
I voted for Electra. While Catwoman is a formidable fighter with mad-skills, Electra is better. She's trained her whole life in martial arts, and she's died like 6 times only to be brought back each time.
Marx - September 20, 2004 09:41 PM (GMT)
Same here, I kinda oversimplified it though, theif, assassin, I'm going with the assassin lol.
Robin - September 20, 2004 09:43 PM (GMT)
Maybe if it had been Lady Shiva vs. Electra.
Marx - September 20, 2004 09:46 PM (GMT)
Hm, that would be a bit trickier, though is Electra at Shiva's level? I mean, she did die 6 times :P
Jason Todd - September 20, 2004 09:46 PM (GMT)
I concur with all those opinions between Catwoman and Electra. Isn't Electra bald now?
Robin - September 20, 2004 09:51 PM (GMT)
She was. I think she has hair again. Maybe...
Jason Todd - September 20, 2004 10:26 PM (GMT)
Say has there been a Robin v. Jubilee match yet?
Robin - September 20, 2004 10:59 PM (GMT)
That isn't even a fair fight. All Jubilee has for her is her fireworks. She is no where near the tactician nor fighter that Robin is.
In the Marvel Vs. DC crossover Robin and Jubilee fought and Tim easily defeated her with misdirection.
If I were to pit someone against Robin is would be Shadowcat. Kitty Pryde is smart, a computer genius like Tim, a fighter on par if not better than him and her phasing abilties would match up against Robin's steath abilities.
Now that would be an interesting fight.

Oh yeah, make it hard with no flashy animation <_<
How was I suppost to choose huh?!
You know what I had to go by?:umm: I felt sorry for the Marvel side!!
I would say I chose on their outfits, or Jenifer Garner over Hallie Berry but no!! It was a PITY VOTE!! :'(

I was wondering about that, since it seems like that fight was pretty pointless, that I wouldn't even bother with it and just change it. Tempted to do the same thing with The Flash and Quicksilver, but I'm not exactly sure who'd be better.
And awwwww, Marvel got a pity vote. :o
Robin - September 21, 2004 11:29 PM (GMT)
The reason they had Robin vs. Jubilee is because they are both the more popular characters of DC and Marvel. It wasn't so much it was a fair fight, but because they are big-name character. Everyone knows who Robin is, and Jubilee became uber-popular during the X-Men cartoon series.
I don't think there was much reason else behind that face off.
Jason Todd - September 21, 2004 11:32 PM (GMT)
I would have liked to have seen robin against MoonKnight. That would have been pretty sweet. Or maybe Nightcrawler. One of those two would have made the fight cool. But I think Moonknight went up against Nightwing.

Well.... yeah.... She has died alot....
But at least Electra and Shiva are both martial artists. And Robin did 'kill' (beat her nearly to death) Shiva once before reviving her (of course Robin was hyped up on a super-speed drug, and was moving so fast that Shiva hadn't been able to keep up since all she could make out was a red and green blur. So that isn't really a fair loss for Shiva), so that puts her and Electra on more equal standing.

In a Shadowcat/Robin match (which I would like to see, btw), I would have to vote for Shadowcat.
Robin - September 22, 2004 08:55 PM (GMT)
A fight like that could go either way in my opinion. Because unlike Jubilee vs. Robin, Kitty and him would be more equally matched.
After all, it isn't very hard to get around Kitty's phasing abilities, as we've seen over the years that Robin could easily exploit (gas, sonic disruption, etc...), not to mention he's an expert in misdirection.
But then again Robin has roughly three years less in martial arts abilities than Kitty (she's like what? 21 years old? And she's been trained as a Samuria warrior).
And frankly, I doubt a fight like between them would revolve around punches and kicks primarily. They're both too smart for that. I think they'd spend more time trying to outsmart one another by setting clever traps.
They are both prodigies of intellect and skill and in those areas I don't see one out doing the other.
But lets leave that debate for the day when we actually have them facing each other in a Marvel vs. DC poll.
Now back to Catwoman vs. Electra...
So... um... Catwoman only has one vote? Does that mean someone believes in her skills or is that a pitty vote?
Jason Todd - September 23, 2004 02:26 AM (GMT)
Moonknight would've been the better choice since he has the same basic abilities and gadgets as robin.
And I think the Catwoman vote was a pity vote from Atlantis.
Robin - September 23, 2004 03:01 AM (GMT)
Actually I think Lani gave Mavel the pity vote.
And maybe that Moonknight (whoever that is. I really don't recall that character) might be a good choice to you Sneek. But Kitty vs. Robin would be quite intesting considering their specific skills and personalities.
Jason Todd - September 23, 2004 05:06 AM (GMT)
Yeah Moonknight's not too well known. He's kinda like batman 'cept he's dressed in all white and his boomerangs are moonshaped and he uses nunchucks. Considering that Marvel said that was their character to be more popular than batman its kinda funny no one knows who he is . But I thought Shadow cat died by falling off a building after phasing through it.
Robin - September 23, 2004 05:14 AM (GMT)
What? Where did you hear that? Kitty couldn't die like that. She can walk on air for pete's sake. If she fell off a building she would just phase herself to safety.
No, Shadowcat is alive and well.
After Colossus died, Kitty had gone into temporary retirement in order to attend college and recover from the loss of her true-love.
She was called back to her old life on several occassion to help Storm's X-treme X-Men team. Recently a faux-Magento destroyed much of Manhaten, killed Jean Grey-Summer (again) and destroyed the X-Mansion. After that the X-Men were 're-loaded' and Cyclops asked Kitty to join his team of 'Astonishing X-Men'. And in a new issue, Kitty has been reunited with Colossus who has somehow been resurrected.
Jason Todd - September 23, 2004 05:57 PM (GMT)
I read in one of the X Men comics a while a go probably Excalabur or Uncanny can't remember too much just that it was around the late 80s early 90s something like that. It was years ago and I guess it was in shadowcats early years. I dont remember it too well but she phased through this building and fell out of it. I guess she survived since I didnt read any issues after.
Marx - October 4, 2004 11:02 PM (GMT)
All I can say is...at least Catwoman got a pity vote. :D Next one should be up shortly.
