Title: Villain Duels
agamemnon33 - September 25, 2004 12:48 AM (GMT)
Suppose you have a fight among 1) Doomsday 2)Darkseid 3)Mongul....who would you pic to win?
Robin - September 25, 2004 12:53 AM (GMT)
Actually, we've had this discussion before. Several times, to be honest.
Darksied all the way.
Jason Todd - September 25, 2004 01:00 AM (GMT)
Darkseid would blow em away. But Id have to vote for Doomsday. He's all pointy and stuff.
Marx - September 25, 2004 08:29 PM (GMT)
Doomsday's already proven he can take on Darkseid and beat him to a pulp. He moves so fast Darkseid doesn't have a chance to use the Omega Beams, and he's stood up to them before regardless. Personally against those two I think Mongul would just get in the way.
Robin - September 25, 2004 09:20 PM (GMT)
Agreed Marx. Mongul can hardly stand up to Wonder Woman. I seriously doubt he could even hold a candle to Darksied and Doomsday.
And while I agree that Doomsday can beat the living crud out of Darksied, I doubt that Darksied would allow that a second time. More than likely Darksied would have a plan ready to take him out. After all, Darksied has been able to analyze Doomsday's DNA and find a way to avoid a second loss to him.
So I wouldn't sy it would be an easy fight. Especially if Darksied just uses a Boom Tube to send Doomsday into a black hole or something.
True Believer - September 26, 2004 12:23 PM (GMT)
I dunno, really. Between Darkseid and Doomsday I'd say that it would be 50/50. I could go either way really, even with all of Darkseid's planning and secret files. Doomsday is a force of nature. It's-- well... shut up! :ouchy:
The Chris - September 26, 2004 09:07 PM (GMT)
~When Darkseid an Doomsday first fought, Darkseid lost, quite badly I may add. Now, Doomsday has came back, an after each fight he's ment to grow stronger, an even adapt to things which he's encountered before to the point where it's no longer a weakness to him. Darkseid can study Doomsday all day long, it's not text books that win a fight, well, not in this case, Doomsday is preety much unbeatable in a fight, thats why Superman an Waverider had to send him to the end of time so he wouldn't exsist, or when Superman put him in a teleport tube, sending him to other teleport tubes to render him in a state of stasus. But even through all of that, he manage to came back (Okay, other peopel brought him back, but their own fault off course!)
An also, as Doomsday only grows stronger, with age Darkseid grows weaker (kINDA) In the Foundation storyline in the Legion comics (When Superboy was pulled into the future) Darkseid was weaker, an wanted to swap bodies with a younger, more stronger version of him self, so his brilliant wisdom an knowlege would be in a stronger body. So, if you think about it, Doomsday will be getting stronger, an Darkseid would be gettin slightly weaker with age, but if Doomsday already beat him a first time round, it's a very slim chance that darkseid will ever beat him
NutiketAiel - September 26, 2004 09:30 PM (GMT)
Darkseid wasn't prepared for Doomsday the first time around. And, as I recall, he used his omega beams to teleport Doomsday away before the creature could kill Darkseid. Darkseid could easily handle Doomsday.
Of course, Time Trapper is the greatest villain of them all. :-)
Robin - September 26, 2004 10:03 PM (GMT)
If Time Trapper is so great, then how come most people don't know who he is? He's isolated primarily to Legion. Meanwhile Darksied appears in multiple books constantly.
Stepi01 - September 27, 2004 04:36 PM (GMT)
In my opinion, Doomsday would be the winner.
Mongul doesn't stand a chance. C'mon, the Cyborg beat Mongul in a grip contest. Hal Jordan as the Green Lantern rocked Mongul into unconsciousness, and let us not forget that Superman kicked his you-know-what. He's not even in the same league as Doomsday and Darkseid.
Now, Darkseid is powerful, to say the least, but Doomsday is just a hate-machine who will fight until he either pounds his opponent into oblivion, or gets pounded himself.
If it battle of wits and tactics, Darkseid would win, but if this is a battle of fists, then Doomsday, the all-around bruiser, is going to win.
I mean, this is who killed Superman. KILLED him.
No contest.
So says the Emerald Dude.

No No No. The Omega Beams did squat to Doomsday. They hit him full force, Doomsay didn't miss a beat, and when Darkseid tried to get Doomsday at point blank range, Doomsday grabbed his face and resumed to be the living crap out of him. Agreed that now Darkseid might prepare and last a little longer, but depending on how the fight was staged that would still be moot. The only way Darkseid would have a chance is by sending Doomsday way through a Boom Tube, and to be honest that's just a form of running away.
Robin - September 27, 2004 08:49 PM (GMT)
Its not running away, when you set a trap to destroy of him, Marx.
Darkseid wouldn't be retreating, he'd be trying to kill off Doomsday. And since normal measures don't work, he has to do something more extreme. So opening an boom-tube and sending him into a blackhole would be just like any other plan of attack.
Besides, I have no doubt that Darksied has learned from his mistakes and discovered a way to hurt Doomsday, using all the data that he's gained over time.
True Believer - September 27, 2004 10:40 PM (GMT)
Actually d most powerful people in the DC Universe are dead already. Monitor and Antimonitor.
Shinobi - November 23, 2004 09:17 PM (GMT)
Well it looks like the Mongul/Doomsday/Darkseid duel question is over...but while i was goofing off in Science today i had a thought for a duel...
Doomsday Vs. Lobo
Think about it...Doomsday wont stay dead, and yes comes back immune to what killed him last time (...although im curious...if superman beat Doomsday to death the first time...what adaptions did he have to avoid THAT?)
And lobo...well...Heaven doesnt want him...Hell doesnt want him, he can survive in the cold vacuum of space, He's immortal as stated at the first one...
So i gotta wonder seeing as eventually these two will likely be the only ones left in the universe (Along with a handful of others...not sure who in all is immortal in dcu...)
Marx - November 23, 2004 09:32 PM (GMT)
lol That's actually a really good question and my best answer is, no one would win. Doomday'd eventually die when all the Lobo from the spilled blood attacked, then Doomsday would come back stronger than them but in the end they'd never really die so they'd just keep fighting each other unless one of them got bored with it and gave up. I think Doomday'd win more times though.
Shinobi - November 23, 2004 10:17 PM (GMT)
Hmmm...yeah that seems about right...
Much as i like Lobo...Doomsday's got the upperhand...unless...*goes back in time and kills the creater of Doomsday before he makes Doomsday*
I win. I'm the REAL main man.
Lobo: Ahem!
....your gonna hurt me arent you?
Lobo: Immensely!
Robin - November 24, 2004 01:20 AM (GMT)
Neither would win. It would get the point they would both grow bored with killing one another, and they really don't have the attention spans for a never-ending fight. Sooner or later they would just got to a bar and get a beer and floozies.
ZZflash - November 24, 2004 03:02 AM (GMT)
ok i have a question.... my dad supposedly says the spectre is the strongest super hero. Is he wrong or right? If hes not who is? Well my dad knows alot, but i don't know..all i know is that the spectre has this great power and supposedly he can't die? meh i don't know answers please
Robin - November 24, 2004 04:24 AM (GMT)
Indeed the Specter is the mightest of all DCU super-heroes.
The Specter is the embodiment of God's wrath, a disembodied spirit charged with punishing evil-doers on behalf of the Almighty. Yet in order for the power of the Specter to be wielded properly it needs a host body of a deceased creature. Once the Specter was anchored to a human host in the form of deceased New York detective Jim Corrigan. But recently Jim was allowed to move onto the afterlife and Hal Jordan, the former Green Lantern (soon to be Green Lantern again) took the power and the title and works as the ultimate wrath of God.
Here are he bios for both Specter I and Specter II
SPECTER I
SPECTER II

alright, awsome thank you. Yeah they say they made him to powerful and stopped cause supposedly they were running out of things to do with him. well thanks again go robin! you get information fast don't you
Robin - November 24, 2004 04:49 AM (GMT)
Just call me the Oracle of the YJUTT. Hey Marx, can you add that to my title?
And yeah, Specter' immense power makes him hard to write for, since no villain can stand up to him, but he does add some interesting things to the DCU. Especially during Hal's tenure as Specter.
Marx - November 24, 2004 06:09 AM (GMT)
No problem, it has been added. B)
