Title: Introducing Young Justice 3.0!
Description: Yes! That's the title!

Supersonic tried to force himself to smile as he looked at the movie. Not only was this one of his favorite all time favorite movies, but it was on the newly installed 42" LCD Wide Screen he'd just installed in Greta's room in the new Headquarters of the newest incarnation of Young Justice. But after everything that had happened lately, he just hadn't been his usual happy, pranking self. Greta had come to the HQ well before the first official meeting of the team had begun, so Super showed her to her room and jokingly suggested that all she needed in the room now was a big screen tv. And POOF! She just made one with her powers! So naturally he hooked it up for her and put in The Lion King.

Leaning back on the couch, Super looked over to Greta. Things had been gotten a little better between him and Duo, but things were still awkward between the two. He'd gotten pretty close to Greta, especially, during this time. And short of her endless rants about Robin she was really cool to hang out with. Marx began to smirk as he saw his favorite baboon on the screen. "That monkey rocks! I see so much of myself in him." He forced a laugh as he saw Scar, and made a crack. "And that...would be Will."

NutiketAiel - October 4, 2004 10:07 PM (GMT)
For the thirtieth time that hour, Lyle ran his hand over the thin layer of stuble covering his head over his headband. Intellectually, he knew that it wouldn't have grown any faster for him doing that, however much he wanted back the hair he had lost in the explosion he had sparked in stopping the tsunami.

That didn't matter, though. He hated being bald, and the short time since the battle against Bedlam hadn't changed that.

For the fifteenth time that hour, Lyle looked into one of the blank monitor screens, catching his reflection. "Well, Cham seems to like being bald, and he can change it..."

"But then again, he also likes being orange with antennae... and his natural form has a bunch of tentacles..."

"Maybe if I just pretend I turned my hair invisible..."

Invisible Kid sighed and turned his head away from the monitor, instead gazing at all the rest of the monitors, some of which actually had stuff in them. And sighed again- monitor duty for Young Justice was even MORE boring than monitor duty for the Legion had been. After all, at least with the Legion he had an entire galaxy to look after. How was he supposed to keep himself occupied with just one world, even if that world WAS Earth?

In all seriousness, though, nothing was going on. The Titans had gone off to fight some villain... the name eluded Lyle at that exact moment... who was experimenting with some kind of dimmension shifting technology. They'd call if they needed help (not that they would). Some kind of civil disturbance in the Central African Republic, but the local authorities were handling it. Another battle in Iraq, but that was no place for Young Justice to go sticking its collective nose.

He had allready played three games of chess with Oracle, losing the first two and forcing a stalemate on the third; he was out of practice with the ancient board game, and his thoughts weren't really on it.

Where his thoughts REALLY were focused were on his chances of getting back home. Not that he didn't LIKE it here with Young Justice... he had settled into the Secret Volcano Lair and made it his home-away-from-home... but he did have to get back to the Legion SOMETIME. Some"time" being the key word.

After all, Brainiac 5... who, Lyle didn;t mind admitting, was much smarter than he was... had been trapped back here along with a whole team of legionnaires for more than a year before being able to get back. And that trip back had required the creation of a monster called C.O.M.P.U.T.O. from an Omnicom, a Mother Box and a Responsometer. Once C.O.M.P.U.T.O. had opened the way home for the Legionnaires, it had gone berserk and had had to be put down by the efforts of the entire Legion and many of this era's heroes, including the legendary Superman. Of course, he had been electric blue at the time, but it had STILL been Superman none-the-less. Unfortunately, the malevolent program had survived to trouble the Legion again a thousand years later, but that was besides the point.

The point being that even though Lyle knew HOW to replicate the process and make another C.O.M.P.U.T.O. to get him home, he wasn't about to actually do it. Especially with a damaged Omnicom.

That was part of the crux of the problem- a significant part of the 31st century technology that Invisible Kid carried with him... and, as one of the Legion's "resident geniuses," he carried alot... had been damaged in the explosion, alot of it seriously, some of it irreperably. One of his Omnicoms had been completely trashed... he hadn't even been able to find any pieces... and his only spare had been damaged by the shockwave. It was still working, but it gave him intermittant problems, and he had no idea how to fix it with 21st century technology.

Still, he had to focus on what he COULD fix. The Transuit had been shredded and partially bisected, but fortunately just the polymer sheath itself had been damaged, not the actual mechanisms in the armband and wrist. The suit was normally self repairing, but not from this kind of damage. Still, it was salvagable.

That was why Lyle was sitting in the monitor room chair with what would look to any 21st century denizen like a pile of seran wrap in his lap, a needle and a special type of thread that he had synthesized.

And a thimble- Oracle had suggested that after the third time he complained about puncturing his thumb during their first chess game. That was another problem he was having- things that seemed like common sense to people from this century were often completely beyond him, simply because he had never had to even CONSIDER actions like what they took for granted. Like sewing.

With a sigh, Lyle looked at his handiwork, holding it up to the light. Well, it looked pretty good so far, just so long as...

"Grife!!" he exclaimed, throwing the transuit to the floor. He had sewn the arm to the body. Again!! With a sigh, he picked it back up again and started to pick out his stitching so he could resew it. Once he had all the pieces sewn back together, it would patch itself good as new, but he absolutely hated this sprocking needle!! After he was finished, he was going to fly out into space and launch the infernal thing into the sun!!

Hmmm... that gave Lyle a notion... which he put asside. His transuit was in front of him, and he had to focus on that. So, with one eye on the monitor boards and the other on his lap, the Superhero/Galactic Spy/Scientist/Time Traveller returned to his needlework.

He let his mind slowly wander. As often it did, of late, his mind found its way to the subject that had been bothering him since the battle with Bedlam- Falcon.

They hadn't spoken since the whole group had been together in the medlab for her announcement. Lyle wasn't sure if she was avoiding him or not. He also wasn't sure why he cared- she had slapped him in the face after kissing him.

Still, there was... something... about the woman. He couldn't quite put his finger on what it was, but regardless Lyle found her extremely attractive on many levels- intellectual, physical, etc. Maybe he just had a thing for women in masks.

Well, it was irrelevant. She had made plain she wasn't interested (what else could a slap like that mean), and he wasn't about to pursue her unless she gave some contra-indication. Especially since he knew how hard she hit.

Still, he found himself really hoping she would walk through that monitor room door, for whatever reason, even if it was just to tell him off.

Sano - October 5, 2004 01:11 AM (GMT)
Floating inches above the sand on the beach just outside the volcano, Sano relaxed with his shirt off and took in the sun. It was rare for him to go so long without his hoodie on, but for the first time in a long time Sano felt liked he was somewhere he belonged. Sure the new 'Young Justice' was more like a dysfuncitonal family at this point than a team, but there was definite potential.

Letting his mind wander Sano was suddenly remembering his conversation with Duo at the top of the volcano. Ever since they had talked Sano couldn't help but wonder why she was so worried about them. Something had obviously happened and it was something serious enough that she didn't want to tell him, which only made Sano wonder more what it was that was on her mind.

"I hope Duo has perked up some since I last saw her," Sano thought as he opened his eyes and looked up at the sun, "who am I kidding, she's tough, I'm sure she's back to her old demonic self."

Figuring he had gotten enough sun for one day Sano floated back upright and picked his t-shirt up off the ground with his telekenesis. Putting his t-shirt on and walking an inch above the hot sand Sano headed back into the volcano to see what was going on. Ever since their encounter with Bedlam and Goth things had been relatively quiet and Sano was not one to complain. Sure he wanted something to do, but after an ordeal like that a little down time was nice, especially with a new team.

Walking through the volcano's tunnels Sano finally emerged in the main room where he saw Invisible Kid sitting on monitor duty. As he had been ever since he had stopped the tsunami Invisible Kid was rubbing the now stubble on his head.

"You know it wont grow any faster if you keep doing that," Sano said jokingly as he walked over to where Invisible Kid sat, "and what is so bad about being bald anyway."

Looking up Sano could see that not only was there nothing going on but Invisible Kid had been playing chess again, and not doing very well either.

"Slow again I see," Sano said as his eyes went from screen to screen, "oh, and if you have any hope of actually winning at chess, you might want to treat it as if it were a battle and you were a field commander. A good strategy is key."

Patting Invisible Kid on the shoulder and walking away, Sano headed over to the kitchen to grab a snack.

Gabe sat on the beach that was located a few minutes from the volcano, there were quite a few beach goers out today and Gabe decided he would try to put his powers to good use. His animated drawings were busy doing a myriad of activities. Tiny acrobats were flipping and somersaulting back and forth, a matador was going toe to toe against a miniature bull, three foot tall versions of various super-heroes ranging from Batman to Aztec were fighting a rogue's gallery of dwarf sized villains, and a ten foot tall portrait of himself was calling out to anyone who passed by and caught a glimpse of his little show to make a small donation to the artist.

Usually having someone in her room set her on edge, but she trusted Marx for some reason, maybe it was because she knew Will trusted him. He was actually a really nice guy, he wore his hoodie and shades a lot but he didn’t get mad at her, even when she tried to ‘help’ setting up the TV, he’d just given her a humoured look, like when she’d made the large TV on an impulse.

Greta now sat riveted by the film, she had never seen 'The Lion King' before and was really enjoying it. She had to admit that Scar really scared her, especially when he killed Simba's daddy.
“You think your like…Rafiki? It could be because the two of you are both pranksters?” She looked at Marx. “Yup, I see the resemblance” She looked back at the screen again, “Simba reminds me of someone too…um…Robin!!” Greta laughed “I don’t know why I thought of him though!”

As she sat transfixed by the screen (Which was really showing the DVD well) she failed to notice that Super wasn't as happy as he usually was, or that her continuous talking about her recent meetings with Robin was starting to bug him.

When he mentioned that Scar was like Will she could have taken it to mean that they had both murdered they’re siblings, that they both were evil and wanted to take over their worlds. Instead she saw it as Scar must act all bad assed but he was just misunderstood. On the inside he was sweet, calm and gentle. After that he didn't scare her anymore. Well, maybe just a little.

Marx - October 6, 2004 07:07 PM (GMT)
There it goes, he knew it. Though this had actually been a record, almost an hour without saying the "R" word. But once more Super acted like it didn't bother him. It wasn't like he was jealous or anything...okay he was totally jealous but that was besides the point. Luckily Greta had yet to notice that Marx wasn't in too good of a mood, just because he was bummed out he didn't want to make anyone else to pity him or pry to try to find out why. So he searched his mind to find some kind of joke to make him seem normal, which was odd because he always did that on impulse. He turned to Greta and pulled off his hood to show that he'd shapeshifted his head into a baboon's. "Are you trying to tell me I look like a monkey?"

Super couldn't help but smile as he heard her laugh as his appearance, which was cut short slightly as the phone rang beside Greta. She looked slightly confused as she answered the phone and then promptly gave it to Marx. As he answered it, he heard a dark but familiar voice on the other end. "Oh, hey Will. What's up?" While Super was being friendly, he knew what the call was about. Getting up he glanced at Greta. "I don't want to interrupt the movie for you, so you can keep watching, I'll catch up." Super friendly suggested as he walked out of the room with the phone and out of earshot of Greta continued with the conversation. "Ok Will, you don't find it the slightest bit weird that you're calling Greta's room looking for me?" Super demanded releasing some of his bad mood on Greta's brother, who quickly showed he didn't appreciate it. "What I find weird is that you're in my sister's room. I told you to look out for her, but I'd like to think you wouldn't take advantage of the situation." "Dude! I promised you I'd watch out for her and I am, okay?" Even though Super couldn't see Harm he could tell that he was taken back by Super's forwardness. Things had been tense between the two of them since Will had interrupted Super and Duo at the cemetary. He now knew Will was only trying to help out Duo, but that didn't mean he couldn't be mad about it.

Though they were only on the phone it was creeping Super out, he could could sense that Will was doing one of those creepy smirks. "Okay then. Just making sure." "Okay, is that all?" "Yeah, that's all. We're about to go on a mission anyway. Talk to you later." "Yeah. Whatever." Super mumbled as he put hung up the phone. Honestly he hadn't thought about that promise since he made it, Greta was just fun to hang out with, Robin references excluded. Forcing himself to at least look happy he went back in the tv room.

"You know it wont grow any faster if you keep doing that," Sano said jokingly as he walked over to where Invisible Kid sat, "and what is so bad about being bald anyway."

Lyle looked up as Sano walked in, removing his hand from his stubble for the 31st time that hour. Well, Sano was no Falcon, but he was still a nice guy to talk to. Lyle gave him a warm smile. "Well, it doesn't hurt to try. And there's nothing bad with being bald; it just doesn't compliment my headband all that well."

"Slow again I see," Sano said as his eyes went from screen to screen, "oh, and if you have any hope of actually winning at chess, you might want to treat it as if it were a battle and you were a field commander. A good strategy is key."

Lyle grimaced, wiping the old chess games from their screens. "Well, Oracle is a pretty good player, so no shame in losing to it. Seriously, though, I'm usually much better. I've just been distracted, I guess."

Patting Invisible Kid on the shoulder and walking away, Sano headed over to the kitchen to grab a snack.

"Later," said Invisible Kid as Sano walked out the door. He returned to his needlework, keeping one eye on the monitors. He watched as Sano travelled from the monitor room, through the main room and some of the common areas to the kitchen and started fixing himself a snack. At that, Lyle's stomach growled. He shook his head and, with a smile, keyed the intercom. "Hey, Sano, if you're coming back this way, could you bring me a tuna sandwich? I've been here for a couple of hours and my stomach just reminded me how long it's been since breakfast. If it isn't an inconvenience, that is."

Sano - October 6, 2004 11:36 PM (GMT)
Getting into the kitchen Sano wasn't exactly sure what he wanted for a snack, he was hungry but not in the mood for anything in particular. Looking around Sano finally decided he would cut up an apple and spread some peanut butter on it. Grabbing an apple, plate and a knife with his mind Sano walked over to one of the cupboards and grabbed the peanut butter.

As he started cutting up the apple Sano heard the intercom turn on and Invisible Kid speak.

"Hey, Sano, if you're coming back this way, could you bring me a tuna sandwich? I've been here for a couple of hours and my stomach just reminded me how long it's been since breakfast. If it isn't an inconvenience, that is."

Finishing cutting the apple Sano headed over to the intercom in the kitchen and replied to Invisible Kid.

"Inconvience, hell, its not like I have anything else to do," Sano said a little sarcastically, "I'll be out in a minute with it."

Spreading peanut butter on the apple slices he had just cut Sano started gathering everything needed for Invisible Kid's sandwich. Multi-tasking using his telekenesis and hands Sano whipped up the sandwich in no time and grabbed his and Invisible Kid's plates and headed back to the monitor room. Setting both plates down Sano grabbed a chair and sat down next to Invisible Kid.

"There ya go," Sano said as he sat down and ate a slice of apple.

"So, seeing that things are so slow, you want to talk about whats on your mind," Sano said looking at Invisible Kid, "or do you want to keep trying to surpress it. Cause your neurotic head rubbing and the expression on your face aren't hiding anything."

Jason Todd - October 7, 2004 03:28 AM (GMT)
Being carried back to the base by the giant drawing of himself Gabe counted the money he had earned from the day's performance. "A pretty good haul today." he said to himself. The crowd especially loved it when the tiny Batman landed a haymaker on the miniature Joker caricature. A few more weeks of this and he could probably replace the bass he lost when he confronted Bedlam. Gabe paused for a moment and his mind drifted back to the battle with the demi-god. It wasn't his first time screwing things up. But it was the first time it almost cost him the lives of others. Sometimes it felt like his miniscule powers were more of a curse, not like the gifts that made some of the other heroes look like gods. His memory flashed forward to how SuperBoy reacted to him and his shortcomings. "If I had a fancy "S" on my shirt I would be a cocky jerk too. Well I'll show that super powered jock #$%@." Gabe muttered. The giant suddenly halted right at the entrance of the base.

Falcon - October 7, 2004 06:34 PM (GMT)
>>Gah! Sorry people. Really busy week(interim exams) and hardly and computer accsess........Falcons about to make her appearance though. Gimme a few seconds to write the post<<

Falcon - October 7, 2004 07:10 PM (GMT)
Falcon teleported into the monitor room in her new costume and a duffle bag slung over her shoulder containing the few things for her room at the HQ. ((Her new costume was a one piece, sleeveless and leggless,(like a swim suit) black leatherey bodysuit with the classic falcon symbol on the front. It was zipped down a little, but not enough to be vulgar, but just enough to be attractive. her hair had been cut as well and was not at just above shoulders length and textured. her gloves were the same, but her boots now were mid theigh in length and had little belt holders on the end for her extra supplies. Her mask was also different and nolonger showed her eyes. It had star lite lenses. The mask covered her eyes and the framed around her lower face.))
She took one step in the monitor room and noticed invisdible kid and Sano in there.

She paused a second, while looking over at the two, invisible lad in particular.....It didn't take her to long to regain her composer though...

Emotionlessly, she grunted hello, with a side glance, and walked out of there without another single sylabl.

...
...
She ighed as she got into the hallway and the door closed behind her.
She had a feeling things were going to be awkward for a while. If not a little quiet.

She still didn't understand why he had kissed her.....

She shook her head and continued down the hall to her new 'room'. It didn't really matter, she guessed. Besides, right now all she wanted to do wasfocus on being single. She wanted to be independent for once. She Pressed her hand up against a small print scanner on either side of the doorway to her roomm before the door had finnaly slid open and she went inside.

NutiketAiel - October 9, 2004 07:41 PM (GMT)
Spreading peanut butter on the apple slices he had just cut Sano started gathering everything needed for Invisible Kid's sandwich. Multi-tasking using his telekenesis and hands Sano whipped up the sandwich in no time and grabbed his and Invisible Kid's plates and headed back to the monitor room. Setting both plates down Sano grabbed a chair and sat down next to Invisible Kid.

"There ya go," Sano said as he sat down and ate a slice of apple.

"MMMmmm... thank you," replied Invisible Kid as he took the sandwich. "Now, if only we had some nice Banyo Chips to go with it." Without further reminiscences about a snack food that would not come into existance for another thousand years, Lyle tore into the sandwich ravenously. "Mmm, this is good. That telekenisis is pretty handy around the house." Lyle grinned at Sano, finally able to put what had been bothering him... Falcon... out of his mind. Why had she kissed him?

"So, seeing that things are so slow, you want to talk about whats on your mind," Sano said looking at Invisible Kid, "or do you want to keep trying to surpress it. Cause your neurotic head rubbing and the expression on your face aren't hiding anything."

Invisible Kid blinked, looking at Sano over the top of his sandwich. "Is it really that obvious, or were you getting a telepathic vibe?" Before Sano could answer, Lyle waved the sandwich in a gesture of dismissal. "Never mind, don't answer that, it doesn't matter."

The Legionnaire sighed softly. "I guess it's mostly just my situation bothering me. You know, being stuck a thousand years away from my friends, my surrogate family, my team, my job, my government, Magnoball, Silverale, Banyo Chips... you get the idea."

"That's mostly what it is. There are a couple of little things but..." Lyle stopped talking as the distinctive "Whir" noise of the teleporter announced that someone was coming into the Secret Volcano Lair (one of these days he would have to see why everyone thought that name was so funny).

Falcon teleported into the monitor room in her new costume and a duffle bag slung over her shoulder containing the few things for her room at the HQ. She took one step in the monitor room and noticed invisdible kid and Sano in there.

She paused a second, while looking over at the two, invisible lad in particular...

The first conscious thought to enter Lyle's head was Wow... Nice uniform... Though she had such beautiful eyes... followed immediately by Great, my breath smells like tuna fish and I'm still bald. As Falcon looked them over and her eyes paused on Lyle, though, most coherent thought fled from Invisible Kid's head and he just met her eyes. Please say something... he thought fervently, not even considering how a telepath would likely find picking up such strong thoughts to be virtually unavoidable.

..It didn't take her to long to regain her composer though....

Emotionlessly, she grunted hello, with a side glance, and walked out of there without another single sylabl.

Lyle regained his outward composure at the same time she did, returning an emotionless facade... for facade it was... and watched her walk out, without having spoken a word.

He sighed as she entered the hallway and the door closed behind her. So. That was how things were going to be then. The cold shoulder. With a slightly hurt expression that he didn't know was on his face, Lyle turned back to Sano. "I'm sorry, where were we? Oh, right. There're a couple of other little things, but nothing worth mentioning." Boy, what a lie THAT was.

Sano - October 9, 2004 08:50 PM (GMT)
"Is it really that obvious, or were you getting a telepathic vibe? Never mind, don't answer that, it doesn't matter."

"I guess it's mostly just my situation bothering me. You know, being stuck a thousand years away from my friends, my surrogate family, my team, my job, my government, Magnoball, Silverale, Banyo Chips... you get the idea."

"That's mostly what it is. There are a couple of little things but..."

Listening intently as Invisible Kid spoke Sano understood somewhat what the displaced Legionnare was going through. He himself had been torn away from everything he knew and dropped into a completely foreign land, though Invisible Kid's situation was definitely worse. Finishing his apple Sano wondered why Invisible Kid had suddenly stopped talking and his answer came quickly.

Looking over where Invisible Kid's gaze was now transfixed Sano could see that Falcon had just teleported to the headquarters and was sporting a nice new uniform. Glancing from Falcon back to Invisible Kid and back to Falcon, Sano was beginning to understand what IK meant when he said a couple of little things.

"She looks at him with disgust and he looks at her with big loving puppy dog eyes," Sano thought to himself, "it looks like something happened that she wasn't so happy about."

Looking back over at Invisible Kid, Sano could see a look of almost desperation on his face. He wanted Falcon to say something, almost needed her to say something, but he did not want to initiate the conversation. With a muffled hello Falcon quickly made her way past the two heroes and hurried away most likely to her room.

"I'm sorry, where were we? Oh, right. There're a couple of other little things, but nothing worth mentioning."

"Right," Sano said looking at Invisible Kid, "I don't need my telepathy to see whats going on. But don't worry, I wont get all psychiatrist on you. This is something for you and her to work out, and if you want to talk about it thats your choice."

Standing up and picking up his empty plate Sano added, "As for being stuck here away from everyone and everything you know, I kind of know how you feel. So if you ever want a guide to the 21st century, or just someone to shoot the breeze with you know where to find me."

Heading out of the monitor room and back into the kitchen Sano quickly washed everything he had used to make the snacks for himself and IK. Washing his hands Sano decided he would go down to the base's training room and work on his martial arts a little. Going back to his room Sano changed into a pair of kung fu pants and shoes that he had gotten while he was in London. As he was walking out of his room Sano glanced over at the intercom and had an idea.

Switching the intercom on Sano said, "Hey Falcon, I know you just got here but I was on my way down to the training room and I just thought I'd see if you wanted to go. I'll be down there if you want to join me."

Switching the intercom off Sano headed out of his room and made his way down to the training room. It was an impressive room, with every bit of technology and training equipment that you could want. Walking over to a nearby wall Sano began stretching and preparing for a hard training session.

atlantis - October 9, 2004 10:20 PM (GMT)
Greta sang “Moh-moh-moh-moh-monkey!!” When she saw his face before she laughed. Still smiling she answered the phone before its third ring.
Before she could even say ‘Hi’ a voice she knew well instructed her. " Greta. Give the phone to Super.” Silently she handed the phone to Marx. What did her brother want to do with the speedster he threatens to kill every time they meet?
Abandoning the movie as he left the room, taking the phone with him, Greta misted and floated from the bed silently. From beneath the door she heard Marx’s side of the conversation.

"Ok Will, you don't find it the slightest bit weird that you're calling Greta's room looking for me?"
Greta grinned, not realising how else it could be taken that she had a boy in her bedroom, Marx was giving her brother attitude. Well, its not like she didn’t already know he had a death wish where Will was concerned.

"Dude! I promised you I'd watch out for her and I am, okay?"
The smile froze on her face. Did she just hear what she thought she heard? He was…under orders to baby-sit her?!? From her brother!! So all this time he was just watching over her, not wanting to hang out for her as a friend but look out for her as a minder?!!

"Okay, is that all?" ALL!! She was an all?! For a moment it was like she’d been physically slapped in the face, she found it hard to breathe and it was only when she heard him turn back to return to the room she shook herself out of it.

"Yeah. Whatever." She was back on the bed as she heard the beep as he disconnected the line.

When Marx re-entered the room and replaced the phone in the base station Greta specifically didn’t look at him, focusing riveted by the movie showing the end, the final fight. In truth she didn’t what him to see how upset she was, her face a mixture of sadness and anger. Her head wrapped up in betrayal, both from her brother and newest ‘friend’.

She wasn’t actually paying attention to the film, which if she was in a particular mood she would have seen ‘Robin’ and ‘Harm’ fight, Good and Evil in its never-ending dual. Then to see the representation of Will destroyed inadvertently by Robin would have left her in tears like the ones that sped down her face, that is if she was paying attention to the movie and not have her mind dwell on what she had overheard.

Falcon - October 9, 2004 10:22 PM (GMT)
Falcon looked up from her patrol logs from the night before as she sorted them out on her bed.

She had finished unpacking, so she had decided to catch up on some of the "paper work" Oracle had insisted she do so her files could remain updated. She hadn't brought much with her....Some extra backup supplies, a spare costume or two, a few books she was currently reading, one of which was War and Peace by Tolstoy(OOC:I'm actually about to begin reading that....Just as soon as the nine weeks art 'jury' assignments are done so I can stay at my current school....) a few cds that she listened to when working out and training, and her sketch book....the last of which had been put in a secret compartment in her room. It didn't contain in personal sketches of any sort, but there was a slight paranoia that her style would be recognizable and some how traced back to her......she just had to sketch things down sometimes though, so she had to bring it. She had alse brought her laptop and a pair of civvies just in case and had out it all away in its respected place.

Switching the intercom on Sano said, "Hey Falcon, I know you just got here but I was on my way down to the training room and I just thought I'd see if you wanted to go. I'll be down there if you want to join me."

She looked down at the work that awaited her and stretched. She didn't have much of it left, and she could use a bit of a exercise....this stuff could wait.

She stood up, stacked the papers and put them on the bedstand near her bed and headed on down stairs to the training room.

*******

Falcon walked into the training room amd cleared her throat loud enough to be noticed and, with a hint of sarcasm, spoke: "You rang?"

Marx - October 10, 2004 12:46 AM (GMT)
As Marx returned to the room he was in a more visibly bad mood. He'd just begun to forget about all the recent happenings and enjoy hanging with Greta and Will had to remind him that he was "supposed" to be doing it. Looking back at Greta it seemed like she was really into the movie, and turning back to the screen Will had made him miss one of the best parts! He wanted to see Timon do the hula!

As he watched the screen, he intently watched the ending. Seeing Scar's end made him cringe slightly as it reminded him of his own recent beating. Like he really needed something to remind him of that, he was only tortured about it just about every night. Finally the credits began to roll and Super stood up and stretched before turning back to Greta. "So? What did you think?" Marx asked trying to hide his depression, but didn't get an answer. "Greta? Greta?" She seemed to be really deep in thought about something, before she finally acknowledged him.

"I'd bring up the sequel, but it's not as good as this one. Want to see if anyone else is here yet?"

Sano - October 10, 2004 05:50 PM (GMT)
Coming to the end of his pre-warmup stretching routine, Sano heard the door to the training room open and looked over to see Falcon walk in.

"You rang?"

"Why yes I did Lurch," Sano said smirking.

Finishing his last stretch and walking over to Falcon, Sano added, "You looked a little peeved when you came in and I thought you might want to vent some frustration down here. And I like to think I make a pretty good sparring partner, or at the very least a capable punching bag."

"So what do you say," Sano said smiling at Falcon, "you wanna go a couple of rounds? I promise not to use my mental ablilties if you promise not to use any of those gadgets you carry around."

NutiketAiel - October 10, 2004 09:00 PM (GMT)
"Right," Sano said looking at Invisible Kid, "I don't need my telepathy to see whats going on. But don't worry, I wont get all psychiatrist on you. This is something for you and her to work out, and if you want to talk about it thats your choice."

Invisible Kid just nodded with a small sigh. Had it really been that obvious? He would need to work on that.

Standing up and picking up his empty plate Sano added, "As for being stuck here away from everyone and everything you know, I kind of know how you feel. So if you ever want a guide to the 21st century, or just someone to shoot the breeze with you know where to find me."

Lyle smiled at that. "I really appreciate that, Sano, and I think I'll take you up on both offers. And thanks again for the sandwich."

After Sano had walked out of the room, Lyle shook his head and rand his hand over his stubble for the thirty-second time that hour. Grife, it had been a long time since he had worn his emotions on his sleeve like that; what was Falcon DOING to him? Sano probably thought he was as pathetic as a poor, lost puppy dog.

Putting all that out of his mind, Lyle returned his attention to his sewing. In short order, he repaired the mistake he had made to the sleeve before Sano came in and held it up to the light. As he did, he looked through the transuit and saw Sano and Falcon getting ready to spar in one of the training rooms. He felt not the slightest pang of jealousy, or anything else, for that matter. For a microsecond, he was tempted to turn up the volume and hear what they were saying. But only for a microsecond. Without visible hesitation, he switched that monitor from the gym to the meeting room, giving them privacy.

He returned his eyes then to his transuit. Well, it LOOKED OK... Lyle instructed it to run a self integrity test.

...It passed! Finally, he had gotten all the pieces sewn together in the proper places. He set it asside, instructing the transuit to begin the self repair process. It would be wearable again in short order.

Great. One piece of equipment repaired, another 10 or so to go. And that just the ones that were actually repairable. With a sigh and a muttered "Sprocking 21st Century," Lyle turned his attention back to the monitors.

atlantis - October 10, 2004 11:01 PM (GMT)
Jumping back into reality as Marx asked "Greta? Greta?" She finally looked away from the screen. She almost believed the genuine concern for her on his face, but she could also see he was hiding something. But she knew his promise. His secret.

"Er...yes, I thought it was good. But i think i got a little scared in some parts." Greata said as she leaned over and snapped off the DVD player. "Like those hyenas....creepy!"

Wiping away the unnoticed tears on the back of her hand and misting so the impending puffy eyes wouldn;t be noticed either Greta didn;t know how to deal with Supersonics pretence. She decided to deal with it the same as she did everything else for he moment, by locking it away deep inside and sicking a 'Secret' sticker on the box.

Turning back, she gave him a meek smile when he sugested going to see if anyone else was around. "Sure, It would be good to see who decided to be on the team." Greta hoped Falcon wasn't around, Her suppressed bad mood might not hold out around her...

Marx - October 11, 2004 08:41 PM (GMT)
Supersonic forced a smile as Greta said she said the movie. At least she was able to completely enjoy herself, though she did seem slightly distant. "I know what you mean, Mufasa still gets me a little teary eyed. And trust me, I look really freaky teary eyed." Super said, actually being sincere even though it came off as a joke.

"Sure, It would be good to see who decided to be on the team."

"Cool." Super said with a nod as he led the way out of the room. He was trying his hardest not to show the pain and frustration he was feeling totally oblivious that Secret was going through the same thing. One of the first people he saw was Invisible Kid at the monitors. If he'd been in a better mood, Super'd probably would have made Dr. Evil joke after Dr. Evil joke on Invisible Kid's new hairstyle but luckily for Lyle, Super just wasn't in the mood.

"Hey Invisible Lad, anyone else here yet?"

Jason Todd - October 12, 2004 02:20 AM (GMT)
When the giant drawing dissepated Gabe strolled into the base. He thought for a moment on how big the base was. He hadn't even finished exploring the entire compound. It was change from the crammed apartments he was used too. The best part was of course not scrounging up cash to pay for rent. It was also a relief to know that his creations could scurry about with fear of getting kicked out. "Better get this cash up to my room before I lose it." Gabe said to himself. He was out of pencils anyway.

NutiketAiel - October 12, 2004 05:45 AM (GMT)
Invisible Kid sighed as he looked across the monitor boards. Nothing to watch. No one to talk to since Sano had left. He didn't feel like losing another game of chess to Oracle (he needed more practice), and most of the games he was REALLY good at hadn't been invented yet. What's the good of being a master of Durlan Morpho-Checkers when hardly anyone on Earth had even HEARD of Durla?

Things were just... too quiet. He needed... music! He keyed up the vocal interface he had calibrated during the first hour of this long shift.

"Computer, play a random selection from Tchaikovsky's collected works. Not the 1812 Overture."

"Volume level?"

"Just background music."

Obediently, the monitor room filled with the soft, soothing sounds of a piece from Swan Lake. Lyle sighed and listened contentedly... for about thirty seconds.

No, no, this was all wrong. He was trapped in the 21st century, not the Romantic Period. He needed to start accustoming himself to modern music.

"Computer, stop that music." The room was silent again. "Play something else. Something... contemporary."

"Please specify further, Invisible Lad."

Lyle slapped himself in the forehead. Was ANYBODY in this century going to get his name right? "It's Invisible Kid, computer."

"Understood, Invisible Kid. Please specify further, Invisible Lad."

The Legionnaire sighed. Obviously, not all of the upgrades that he had been making to the vocal recognition software to accomodate for his accent were taking without incident. "Just something, modern. Composed in the last... oh, two decades or so. Something that is being played in the popular media now."

"Please specify language."

"Inter... errr, I mean, English."

"Please specify dialect."

"Ummm... American?"

"Please specify sub-dialect."

"What are my choices?"

"Brooklyn, Southern, Redneck, Redneck-Southern, New Orleans, Louisiana, New Englander, Bostonian, Northern New Jersey, Southern New Jersey/Philadelphian, Western Pennsylvanian..."

"Grife!! I don't know, computer, aren't most of them pretty similiar anyway? Just skip the sub-dialect and go on to the music itself."

"Please specify genre."

Lyle sighed- this was getting frustrating. "What are my choices?"

"Country, Jazz, Classical, Reggae, Hip Hop..."

"Hip hop. That sounds promising."

"Please specify sub-genre."

Lyle sighed again. "Options?"

"East Coast, West Coast, Gansta Rap..."

"Gangsta? Is that an actual word?"

"Scanning Earth Language Database... 'Gansta' is a colloquialism refering to the word 'gangster,' which is defined as..."

"I know what a gangster is, Computer. Continue listing sub-genres."

"Hardcore, Rap/Metal, Freestyle, Old School..."

"Let's try hardcore. That seems appropriate."

"Please specify artist and/or song."

"Just pick one at random fitting all previous terms, computer."

"Volume level?"

"Whatever is customary."

Obediantly, the computer filled the room with a moderately volumed selection from a hardcore hip-hop artist. Lyle listened with a curious expression for several minutes before speaking. "Computer, I thought I specified English, American dialect."

"Checking," the computer said over the music. "Selection confirmed."

"Then why can't I understand this? Is this a sub-dialect?"

"Musical selection is composed in the sub-dialect Eubonics."

"Well, what does it mean to '%&#^$#@ with &$&@)!^ and ^&$@$&^$#@ while &#(*#$@ with the (*#&$(*@#$ from the @#)#(*$@ for shizzle'?"

"Checking... the phrase '%&#^$#@ with &$&@)!^ and ^&$@$&^$#@ while &#(*#$@ with the (*#&$(*@#$ from the @#)#(*$@ for shizzle' means to insert one's..."

"You know what, I'll just use the Universal Translator." Indeed, Lyle activated the universal translator on his flight ring. As soon as he did, his eyes widened. "Grife, is THIS what people listen to? It's trash!! How does this even qualify as music? Computer, shut it off." The hardcore rap obediently went away. "OK, no more hip-hop for me. Computer, repeat and resume genre listing."

"Country, Jazz, Classical, Reggae, Hip Hop, Electronica, Rock and Roll..."

"Stop! I've heard of Rock and Roll, I read about some of it in history. We'll go with that. List sub-genre choices, please."

"Classic Rock, Alternative Rock, Grunge, Heavy Metal..."

"Heavy Metal? That sounds intriguing. Play a random selection from that sub-genre."

"Volume level?"

"Oh, whatever's customary."

His ears were immediately assaulted by an extremely loud heavy metal song, blasting from all the monitor room speakers. "AHHHH!! TURN IT OFF, TURN IT OFF!!"

At a similiarly loud volume so it could be heard, the computer spoke. "Please repeat request."

"TURN IT OFF, YOU SPROCKING THING!!" Lyle was doubled over, his head cradled in his arms.

"Please repeat request."

With an inarticulate jumble of interlac curses, Lyle quickly took one hand away from his ears and used it to slap the emergency silence button. Obediently, all sound stopped in the monitor room. "GRIFE COMPUTER," he shouted, since he could barely hear himself, "WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!?"

"Running self-diagnostic."

"WHAT?!?"

Lyle still didn't hear as the computer repeated itself, but it didn't matter as he saw the diagnostic running on one of the screens. Slowly, his hearing returned to something approaching normal, although he still had a ringing in there somewhere. Fortunately, one of his still-functioning medical scanners confirmed no permanent damage.

"OK, Computer, let's stay away from the contemporary music for a while. In fact, let's stay away from all music the time being."

"Understood, Invisible Boy."

Invisible Kid sighed. "Yeah, right, whatever, you sprocking thing."

Lyle looked up at the entrance when he heard his name called, seeing Supersonic and Secret. "Please, just call me Lyle," he said in a frustrated voice. "Come on in, guys, let's take a look." He called up a map of the base on the main screen, with icons for everyone on the base. "Well, Falcon and Sano are in the main training room, Gabe's in a corridor in the living quarters... probably on his way to his own room, from the looks of it... and you two and I are here. We're all accounted for except Slobo. Don't know where he is, but it's not on base," Lyle said, swivelling in his chair to look at the super-speedster and the phaser. "So, what are you guys up to today?" Lyle hoped that was the right colloquialism for these circumstances.

Falcon - October 12, 2004 08:46 PM (GMT)
Falcon smirked, raised an eyebrow, and moved into a loose, but pin point accurate kung-fu stance. "Deal." With that, she removed her belt and tossed it onto the floor, as an open show that she could be kept to her word. "Ready when ever you are........"

(Actually Secret's behind Super...I think....)

((You're right, I appologize. It seems I misread. I will edit the last paragraph of my post accordingly at this time.))

Sano - October 12, 2004 11:52 PM (GMT)
"Deal."

Watching, Sano saw Falcon toss her utility belt to the side and get into a loose Kung Fu stance.

"Ready when ever you are........"

"A woman of action," Sano said looking at Falcon and grinning, "I like."

Getting up onto the balls of his feet and rocking back and forth, Sano tilted his left side toward Falcon as he dropped his left arm loosely at his side and brought his right hand up. Sliding over towards Falcon, Sano brought up his left hand and began jabbing at her head trying to get her to raise her guard. After four quick jabs Sano snapped around with a right that connected with Falcon's gut knocking her back a little and taking her breath away, but only for a moment.

"Haven't done this in awhile," Sano said dancing on the balls of his feet, "feels good to not use my powers and work solely on my technique."

Settling his feet and bringing his left hand up to guard his face Sano added, "So, you want to tell me what happened between you and Useless Lad up there, or should I just use my imagination."

Falcon - October 13, 2004 07:41 PM (GMT)
Falcons face went emotionless , even with the raise of an eyebrow. After she had caught her breath of second wind, She faked a right round house kick to catch sanos defense of guard and pulled the leg back in at the last second before it could connect with sanos arm but went with the motion of the turn while jumping in the air and, in a flash that would have supersonic doings a double take, whiped arounfd 180 degrees and pulling off a back kick to Sanos jaw midair(so much easier to visualize in my head than it is to write :_( ).

Not enough to bruise, she pulled it back enough so it would'nt do that, but just enough so jolt him backwards some, at the same time, answering his question with a non-answer. "I don't what your talking about Sano. NOTHING happened between me and Norg."

As Sano was still off balance from her last kick, she landed on the ground and came up like a spring, throwing a well aimed upper jab into his stomach.

atlantis - October 14, 2004 08:14 PM (GMT)
“We just watched a movie, ‘The Lion King’ Do you know it?” Greta politely asked “I’d never seen it and Marx nearly passed out when I told him, so we had to watch it.
She laughed when she remembered the face he’d made when she said she’d never seen the film, the humours highjinks of the speedster, although looking back on it, the laughter stopped as she remembered, he’d been faking even then.

Looking wide eyed at Lyle she smiled weakly. “Did I hear you playing music a moment ago? What do you like? I heard lots of different things, like you couldn’t choose.” She finished as she sat at one of the monitors and ran through the sequences, checking the diagnostics. While she’d been left alone in the YJ headquaters the first time round she’d gotten to know the computers well.

“Um, I have two questions for you, if you want to answer them of course. What does Sprocking and Grife mean? Bart said them a lot too.” Greta wondered. “And Is it Invisible Lad or Kid or Boy.” Remembering his looks, and the way he’d spoken down to her while they were fighting bedlem she couldn’t help add a little barb while she faced the computer screen. “Why isn’t it Invisible Man, you must be kinda old seeing as you think I’m such a child?”

NutiketAiel - October 14, 2004 10:10 PM (GMT)
“We just watched a movie, ‘The Lion King’ Do you know it?” Greta politely asked “I’d never seen it and Marx nearly passed out when I told him, so we had to watch it.

"Umm, no, I've never heard of it," admitted Lyle with a smile. "If it comes so highly reccomended, though, I'll have to watch it sometime." What a sweet little girl; she reminded him somewhat of little Lori Morning when she was in a good mood.

Looking wide eyed at Lyle she smiled weakly. “Did I hear you playing music a moment ago? What do you like? I heard lots of different things, like you couldn’t choose.”

Lyle grimaced. "Yeah, I'm trying to find something from this era that I like. Most of the music I listen to either won't exist for another couple of centuries or is from classical sources that aren't very popular among people my age in this time period, like Tchaikovsky. Maybe you can help me to find a style of music sometime?" he asked politely, willing to accept any help he can get in accustoming himself to this period.

“Um, I have two questions for you, if you want to answer them of course. What does Sprocking and Grife mean? Bart said them a lot too.”

Lyle turned a little red. "Oh, they're just Interlac words. Thats my native language, and Imp... Kid Flash's, too. I... umm... I don't think they have a translation in english. Sorry."

Lyle's smile faded as he looked down at Greta impassively. What a vindictive little girl!! She reminded him somewhat of Lori Morning when she had been in a bad mood. Must be something about this era. "It's Invisible Kid. And I use that name instead of Invisible Man because it's the name I've been using since I joined the Legion when I was younger, and have kept it ever since. When I come from, life expectancies are considerably longer than they are in your time thanks to vastly increased medical knowledge, so calling someone in their early 20s 'Kid,' 'Lad,' 'Boy,' or whatever is still appropriate. For example, some other Legionnaires my age are Cosmic Boy, Saturn Girl and Kid Quantum. If you want, you can call me Lyle, though." Lyle was very tempted to shoot some attitude and rudeness back at her, but only for the briefest of moments. He decided not to notice, instead of smiling at the girl. If Young Justice was going to enlist a child into its ranks, she could at least learn to be SOMEWHAT mature (however powerful she may be), and Lyle stooping to her level of childishness wouldn't help.

Marx - October 15, 2004 09:36 PM (GMT)
Normally Super would have tried to break the tension between Invisible Kid and Secret with a joke but to be honest he couldn't think of one. He could see what was causing it, at the way some of the YJer's seemed to look down on Greta was pretty obvious at times. So Marx simply cleared his throat drawing both teens attention to him as he turned to Lyle. "As for the music..." In a flash, Supersonic was gone and just as suddenly he appeared back with a cd. "You can try this one, just got it from Duo awhile back, she loves this band. But Wondy hates it and kept threatening to break the cd so Duo let me hold it for the time being. Pretty cool album, it's about King Arthur."

Then, in a delayed reaction it finally triggered in Super's mind that Lyle hadn't seen his favorite movie. "And you're telling me you haven't seen 'The Lion King' either? I could loan you my DVD later too, no problem." One habit Super always had when talking about that movie was trying to see whose personality most matched with the characters. When he began to think of what he knew of Lyle's personality it finally hit him. "Zazu! That's who you remind me of." For once Super was glad the hood was covering his face since while it sounded like he was cracking a joke there wasn't a smile on his face. "What about you, Greta?" Super asked turning to Secret. Since she'd seen the movie, she'd must have found someone she identified with the most. Super had hoped his changing of the subject would help instead of just bluntly yelling 'Everyone back into neutral corners!', felt odd being sensible.

Sano - October 31, 2004 05:38 AM (GMT)
Blocking the first kick Sano was caught off guard when Falcon stopped mid attack and swung the other leg around catching him in the face.

"Not bad," Sano thought as he rubbed his jaw, "she hits pretty hard."

"I don't what your talking about Sano. NOTHING happened between me and Norg."

"Rigghhh..." was all Sano was able to get out before Falcon drilled him in the stomach with a hard upper jab.

Snapping to, Sano quickly brought his hands down snapping Falcon in the back with a double handed smash at the exact second he brought his knee up and hit her in the gut. Neither attack was at full power, but it was enough to get her attention and it allowed Sano to reach down, grab Falcon by the neck and toss her backwards.

Standing up straight gingerly, feeling the effects of the shot to the stomach Sano looked at Falcon and said, "Ok, my fault. I guess that look of disgust you gave lame lad and the lovesick puppy dog look he gave you meant nothing."

Taking a deep breath Sano rushed forward and lunged at Falcon with his left arm cocked and ready to strike. As he neared Falcon and she prepared to block the attack, Sano swung his momentum to the opposite side, slammed his feet into the ground and hit Falcon in the side with a right cross. Snapping up Sano spun and hit Falcon in the back of the head with a glancing blow from his foot, nothing close to full power, but just enough to send her reeling.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, my fault. I guess that look of disgust you gave lame lad and the lovesick puppy dog look he gave you meant nothing."

"What?" She said as she noticed his sarcasm ....in which he took the moment to give her a little rough n' tumble, then throw her back again the side wall of the training room.

"First off..." She stood up, slightly dazed. "Your punch was pulled back just a biiiit to quickly....Second: now your REALLY asking for me to let loose. And third:" She crouched and came forward just a little in a jump
, then side jumped again, but MUCH higher, bring her legs in straight so that she whirled in the air in a whuu shoo move, and, at the right moment, jutted her leg out to kick Sano in the side of the head, enough to knock him over but not enough to REALLY hurt, and then landed on the ground, bringing herself onto one hand so that both feet were off the ground to side kick sano during his fall, and finnaly coming into a crouch and slowly standing up over Sano. "AND, like I said, nothing happened. Anything that did happen, is awhole lot less then you probably think it is...."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"First off...Your punch was pulled back just a biiiit to quickly....Second: now your REALLY asking for me to let loose. And third:"

As Sano watched and listened Falcon pulled of a pretty series of moves starting with jumping in the air and ending with spinning in a hand stand that all said and done knocked him on his butt

"AND, like I said, nothing happened. Anything that did happen, is awhole lot less then you probably think it is...."

"Alright, sorry, guess I'm just reading too much into things," Sano said laying on the ground with his hands behind his head, "such is my nature."

Still laying on the ground Sano added, "And I know the punch was pulled a little early, I could tell just as I did it, but thats why I wanted to do this, I'm out of practice somewhat fighting without my telekenesis."

Rocking back and jumping to his feet Sano snapped a quick jab that caught Falcon in the forehead and was meant more to annoy than hurt.

"Oh, and those little spin moves of yours, those were pretty," Sano said mockingly, "though not very effective, there was way too much wasted movement."

Rushing at Falcon, Sano ducked down and to the left at the last possible moment and drove his right knee into her stomach causing her to double over. Grabbing Falcon around the waist Sano picked her up, flipped her over and slammed her down to the ground. Laying next to Falcon after having slammed her to the ground Sano snapped his elbow into her stomach before spinning and pushing himself up and out of her reach.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Falcon lay there for a second, catching her breath, her face stone cold......and then a wicked smirk slipped over her face. "Ohhhhh. Now your just trying to get me riled up." She flipped back up onto the soles of her feet in a crouch before launching herself at Sano in a Palm strike. She went past his head(the 'supposed' target) though and, instead, brought her arm around his neck to flip him on the ground
hard, following after, landing ontop sideways with his elbow firmly in hold over her knee. So that anymovement cause it to reeealy hurt and any jerking or struggling might dislocate it.

She had to admit. She was having fun. It had been awhile since she had a spar just for fun. Since er and vic.....Her smirk faded away.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Ohhhhh. Now your just trying to get me riled up."

"Why yes I am," Sano replied smiling, "and it seems to have worked pretty well."

Watching as Falcon rushed at him palm out, Sano prepared to block the strike and was surprised when she dodged to the left and flipped him over. Landing hard on the ground, Sano tried to get up as fast as he could but before eh could react Falcon was laying on top of his chest, his arm wrenched against her leg.

"Well now, it seems someone is enjoying this." Sano said his smile widening, "but don't relax just yet."

Dislocating his immobilized shoulder, Sano was able to twist it in just such a way that he was able to sneak it out of Falcon's grasp, but not without an immense amount of pain. Getting to his feet quickly, Sano went over to the wall closest to him and slammed his shoulder into the wall popping it back into place.

"Now that's more like it," Sno said through the pain, "no wasted movement, just right to the point."

Stretching his shoulder out to try and dispel some of the pain, Sano rushed at Falcon and dropped just into a slide tackle just in front of her. Taking Falcon's legs out from under her and causing her to fall face first on the ground, Sano snapped out of the slide. Jumping on Falcon's back, Sano pulled her arms up and put her in a full nelson as he rest his hands on the side of her head keeping her face pinned to the floor. Reaching back with his legs, Sano placed his shins across the back of Falcon's knees pinning her to the ground.

"Well, your hold was good," Sano said enjoying the fight, "but mine is just a little bit better. So, do you concede, or should we just call this a draw and pick it up again some other time?"

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Well, if I knew we were going to play so rough...." She forced her pelvis/backend upward to throw him off balance, moving her entire body with her, she moved her feet up from his shins and her arms forward, throwing him over her and rolling off to the side, sitting up and rubbing her shoulders before standing back up. "Besides, I don't give up so quickly. But this is fun. " She was actualy beginning to break a sweat......

She got back into a stance, waiting cautiosly for him to get back up.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Well, if I knew we were going to play so rough...."

Hearing Falcon say that spoke volumes to Sano, he had thought she liked to fight and mix things up but she genuinely seemed to be enjoying herself. Holding her down he suddenly felt her force her pelvis upward giving herself enough leway to wriggle away from him and slide out from under him.

"Besides, I don't give up so quickly. But this is fun."

"Well thats good to hear," Sano said getting up, "though we could run in to a problem eventually because I don't give up easily either."

Getting back into his stance, Sano charged at Falcon and hit her in the midsection with his shoulder driving her back into the wall. Wrapping his arms around her waist, Sano flipped Falcon backwards over his head pinning her to the ground. Bringing himself up into a bridge position Sano flipped off of Falcon and stood over her, careful to watch her closely.

As soon as Greta saw the CD that Super had gotten, Greta reacted.
"No! Not that trash! I can't believe how Duo broke you with that garbage!! You used to be so cool!!"
She lost intrest in the potential fight with Lyle and lept to her feet.
"Cassie so should have broken that cd when she had the chance!" She made grabbing motions at the disk. "No one should have to listen to it!!"

After a moment or two of Super dodging and keeping the CD she stopped and held back while he spoke about the move they'd just seen.
"Who am I? uuum..." She thought about the animals in the movie. "Well I guess if ..You know who is Simba...Then I want to be Narla!!"

In the moment that Super stopped after her answer, Greta snatched the CD away. She burst into mist for a second and when she reformed the Cd was no longer in her hands.
She fought the urge to say something along the lines of 'Protect that!' Teach him to pretend to be her friend!

Jason Todd - November 2, 2004 01:16 AM (GMT)
Growing bored of sitting around Gabe exited his room and began to explore the rest of the facility. "Man I wonder what the others are doin?" Gabe thought. It was getting pretty stale to be all alone while the everyone else was doing whatever in such a giant place like this. "Hmmm, lets see what Lyle's up too." he pondered before entering the monitor room.

Marx - November 2, 2004 04:10 AM (GMT)
Supersonic had to admit that he was caught offguard by Greta's reaction to the CD. While he'd heard that Cassie despised the thing, he didn't know Greta felt the same way. As she made repeated grabs for the disk, Marx took advantage of his superspeed making it nearly impossible for her to actually get the cd to follow through on her threat. "This CD rocks and you know it!" Though not visible from inside the darkness of his hood, a small smirk began to form on Super's face. Not just because he was protecting the CD, but because they'd gone at least an hour without the mention of...

"Who am I? uuum..." She thought about the animals in the movie. "Well I guess if ..You know who is Simba...Then I want to be Narla!!"

...Robin...well...so much for that. Don't get him wrong, it's not like he dislikes Robin or anything. After seeing Tim's investigation skills with the whole Vicious thing that happened previously, if anything he had more respect for him. He could even handle Greta's feelings for the Boy Wonder...kinda...maybe...okay that's what bugged the hell out of him, but her talking about him all the time sure wasn't helping the matter any. But what Super didn't realize was his annoyance let him be still a little too long as Greta swiped the CD and and smoke-jumped it who knows where.

With a faint frown on his face, Super gave a glance at the Greta's hand that had previously held the CD. "Aww, I'm gonna have to fly all the way to England to get another one of those. Well, at least I still have part 2." Marx then saw something moving out the corner of his eye, and turned to see Gabe entering the room. "Hey man. How's it goin?"

Lyle blinked, taken aback and confused as he watched the shenanigans over the Compact Disc (Lyle had previously done some cursory research on basic methods of data storage and retreval in this time, and so knew that Compact Discs and Digital Video Discs were). All this over some music, he thought to himself confusedly.

It was almost a blessing when Gabe walked into the monitor room. "Good morning, Gabe. Can I help you with anything, or are you just here to... hang out?" he finished, looking to the others for confirmation that that was the correct colloquialism.

Upon entering the monitor room the young cartoonist was greeted by Marx and Lyle. "Yo. Nah, just bored being by me lonesome so I thought I'd come up here." Gabe responded to both metahumans. "Anything interesting happening with you guys?" he asked while trying to find a place to sit.
