Title: Identity Crisis in YJUTT RPG
Description: Should we have it or no?

Robin - October 24, 2004 07:43 AM (GMT)
I don't know if you all have been reading IDENTITY CRISIS, but I'm sure you are all aware of the the current situation. Sue Didny is dead, Jack Drake is dead, Firestorm I is dead, and so on.

So I've been thinking, should we have those events in the RPG?

I'm not asking to do an IDENTITY CRISIS storyline in the RPG (though I have put into consideration doing a side-story or fan fiction about Tim losing his dad), but I'm wondering if we should have it as if those events had taken place in the past here.

You know, for example if we mention those events or not and so on.

So what do you think?

And yes i think it should be envolved. There pretty important parts you may want to enter in stories...so it is a yes and i think they'd make pretty interesting stories.

Yeah, I agree it should as well considering how important certain parts of it are going to be to the characters.

I think that we should. After all, any new members after this point will have Identity Crisis as part of their DC lore, and it really wouldn't be far for us to tell them that they have to forget such a storyline.

I might turn people off from the site if we make like it never happened.

Shinigami - October 26, 2004 08:49 PM (GMT)
I totally agree, it could turn people away from the site and Alan, I personally would like to see how you apply the events to Robin. :D

Robin - October 26, 2004 09:31 PM (GMT)
Thanks Kye. I plan to wait a bit before I start that story though. At least until Issue 6 of Identity Crisis to see what happens there first.

WHAT!! Jack dies!?! Dang. I really need to pick up my comics more frequently......I think it would be interesting to see how we'd deal with I.C. on the RPG boards. Definitely count me in.......juust don't know how I'm gonna get Falc' involved, but I'll find a way :D

NutiketAiel - October 28, 2004 09:44 PM (GMT)
I voted against it, simply because it is my opinion that our role-playing DC Universe now exists independently from the canon DC Universe since we make our own stories. But, I see the arguements for the other point of view.

That, and I'm afraid that you're all going to make me get rid of Invisible Kid thanks to recent events in Legion... :-(

Robin - October 28, 2004 09:59 PM (GMT)
Well what do you know. ANOTHER good bonus to using the I.C. stories. lol.
:D

(I think he voted no just to be difficult and try and start another debate. lol)

While our universe does do things differently than the actual DCU, its still linked directly to the comic. And that means we can still link our stories to events in the comics if we wish. After all there is no reason why we can't.

And honestly the events of I.C. don't even apply to Invisible Kid in the slightest. So Jim, if you want to keep the old school Invisible Kid and not use the newer version that's your choice.

We never said that the recent Titans/Legion crossover needs to be a part of the RPG.

NutiketAiel - October 29, 2004 09:36 PM (GMT)
Thanks, Alan, I appreciate that.

And I'm honestly not trying to start a debate. I just saw this situation as being roughly paralell to the one with Lyle and the Legion/Titans crossover.

Since we've established that it is not, I would (if I could) vote the other way.

Robin - October 30, 2004 01:29 AM (GMT)
So I take it you aren't entirely happy with the new Legion Reloaded, huh Jim?

And yeah, we didn't say we need to follow the comics exactly. This was just a question of involving the events of I.C.

Shinigami - October 30, 2004 09:57 AM (GMT)
Perhaps the characters majorly involved in Identity Crisis, like Tim Drake, should get to decided if they want the effects of the events to actually have happened to their characters...

I mean, for me Duo plays no part since she's an OC, so in truth I really shouldn't have a say, if Alan wants to have Tim drake's father die then I beleieve that decision rest with him. If Jim doesn't want to alter Lyle then that should rest with him, I don't see how having Tim's father die should affact Lyle in our DC realm so it should allllllllllllllll be good! :D

Just a suggestion/question: Should we also deal with the aftermath of War games. Totaling the clocktower, killing spoiler, and all that jazz?

Robin - November 8, 2004 02:36 AM (GMT)
Well, we would have to adjust the history some, to fit in Falcon and we would need to say that Steph hadn't been dating Robin, but I think we should.

It will especially help some, when I start that I.C. storyline about Tim recovering from the loss of his father.

I say yes, we should have the WAR GAMES events in the story.

I'd ask what Jake thinks, since he's playing Batman, but then of course... he hasn't been RPG posting has he...?

:o (HINT, HINT. SAY NO MORE...)
