It was late at Fate's tower Hector had drifted to sleep hours ago.He rolled over and stirred his dreams haunting him because in his dreams his foe Extant is aging his father and his friends,then it is Atom Smasher's turn Extant laughs manically as Al is turned into an eighty year old man."Al!" Hector's dream self yells then he is approched by a completely white man."Hello Dr.Fate I am Dream and this is the truth you must help them Doctor Fate while you still can." Dream says before disappearing Hector awakens with sweat falling down his face.His phone rings he answers "Hello?" he says and a familiar voice replies "This is the JSA come quickly" Hector rushes and puts on his costume donning his golden helmet and opening a portal to the JSA HQ.He sees the aged bodies of almost all the JSAers

Hal Jordan was sitting in a dark room, trying to clear his mind for a few minutes, but the Spectre-force kept interrupting his quiet thoughts. "Forget it." he finally said as he stood up and turned on the lights.

He stepped into his kitchen, a room that he rarely used anymore, due to the fact that he was technically dead, but the crayon drawing on his refrigerator always gave him solace, which he was desparately seeking right now.

Then, the telephone rang. Hal didn't know who would be calling him at this time of night, but he figured that it might be Ollie or someone. He picked up the reciever, "Hello?"

"Hal, we need you to get to JSA headquarters immediately."

Suddenly, Hal understood what he had been feeling all night. Tranforming into the Spectre, he teleported to JSA headquaters. What he saw almost shocked him. He could see several other members of the JSA, but they were aged and frail. He saw Dr. Fate as well, he looked normal, at least.

"Dr. Fate, any idea what happened?"

Doctor Fate looked back at the Spectre.."It was Extant,Spectre..Extant" Fate looked at his father and then looked at the Flash.Mister Terrific muttered,"Canary in charge."

When Hal heard that Extant was responsible, he was less than thrilled. Extant had the habit of playing with time.

It reminded him of the time that he, as Parallax, had tried to rewrite the timeline.

"We must hurry, Extant has only aged the others, but that doesn't mean he won't keep aging them until they die."

"Oh sure...blame it on the Canary"

Emerging from the shadows Dinah Lance sighed, she'd done her best and failed rather badly. The worst part of it all? She looked like her mother. She hadn't aged nearly as much as she could've done but it was still an annoyance. Gee the rest of the JSA must really hate her right now. The Canary had done a wonderful job of heading for the phone to get Bats, breaking several ribs and creating a small collection of flesh wounds. Note to self, never do that again. Leaning against the wall she wiped some of the blood from her face off down her bodysuit.

"Red's not my colour."

Shaking her head slightly she made sure she didn't look directly at any of her team mates instead she was just going to right the situation which was pretty much her fault.

"So....how do we undo this mess?"

"With all due respect Spectre,Extant is mocking us and our abilities.He is not goin to age them any more but as Mister Terrific said Canary is the leader here.I'll stay behind and see if I can de-age them"

Hal nodded, "I guess that you're right."

Hal moved over towards Black Canary. "What happened, Dinah?" he asked, referring to the cuts and bruises that she had. Hal was glad that Ollie wasn't in the area. Hal would not have liked Ollie's reaction, or Dinah's reaction to Ollie's reaction.

"You know me, can't do anything without having something to show for it."

Dinah paused, still not making eye contact. She really should take this seriously. Taking a deep breath she winced at the pain in her ribs and set about saying exactly what had happened.

"Extant came, I made a break for the phone, couldn't get through to Bats,ended up in a fight.....and looking like my mother."

It was vague, she knew that but it was all they were getting at the moment.

Hector puts his golden glove on Dinah's forehead,
"I can de-age you to your proper age yet I still need more time for the others.AGE AND TIME HAS RAVAGED THIS ONE CHANGE HER BACK TO HER AGE RETURN THE TRUE AGE OF THIS ONE!" Fate yelled Dinah looked like herself again."So you rang me then and think Lyta and I were having such a good night together."

"You know me, can't do anything without having something to show for it."

Hal smiled. He stood back as Fate brought Dinah back to her proper age.

"If you two will give me a moment, I will try and locate Extant."

Spectre then disappeared to the others.

Spectre "stood" in space looking down on the Earth. He stretched out his consciousness seeking the time-meddling villain.

"Thanks for the de-age, next time not so loud though."

Rubbing her ear she paused. Her gaze drifting over to the ones that had aged due to her lack of judgement.

"Never leave me in charge again,okay?"

Dinah blinked before waiting for the location check on Extant, the further away he was the better it'd be. But then there was that little voice inside her head that wanted to kick the hell out of him, but Dinah was a 'heroine' she wasn't allowed to do that, so the thought was quickly supressed and she just stood there waiting, cracking her knuckles in the process.

Fate looked at Dinah."Sorry Nabu's starting to take over.Dinah you're a heroine and one of the best that's why you were chosen to be leader.Never say anything otherwise."
Fate looked at his aged father."I'll start then."

Extant was in Athens,Greece where he'd just killed a man,"Come for me Spectre."

Spectre felt more than saw the murder of an Athenian. It took all of Hal's self-restraint not to go straight to Extant and confront the man, especially with his beckoning.

Instead, Hal took himself back to the JSA hq.

"I have found Extant in Athens. He is waiting."

Hal did not want to wait to long, nor did he want to go in without anyone else.

"We know where he is now, so let's get going."

Dinah was unusally keen for this encounter to happen. She was using it to hide her own discomfort at the situation, and she did a good job too, considering her skills. She would've rather been on a training exercise with Bruce, and that was saying something, but the whole thing was partially her fault so she had to make sure she dealt with everything. Well that was her excuse, basically she just wanted to go and watch Extant get beaten, not that she'd care to admit that in public. Sighing she adjusted those fishnet stockings and made sure her hair was in place before taking one deep breath. Gee, being a heroine sure was fun.

Extant smiled "Parallax is coming."

"Spectre, Canary look out for yourselves." Fate said casting a spell on his fellow JSA teammates.

<<Sorry for the delay, but I have been very busy at my new job, and so, I haven't had much time for posting, but I'm back now.>>

Hal felt that he was prepared for anything, but he had learned through his time as the Spectre that anything had a vaster meaning than either Green Lantern or Parallax had known.

However, now was not the time for doubt or worry, especially since they were teleported to Athens.

Once the spell was done, Spectre found Extant, who was very nearby, and didn't seem to be trying to hide at all.

'A very powerful person making no attempt to hide and openly inviting equally powerful people to find him...not good,' Hal prepared himself for the worst.

"I realise I should be nervous at this point Hal, but we're the good guys....we will win. It's how the system works. Bad guy comes along...commits some crimes, we beat 'em up. Simple....."

Dinah could tell he was dreading what was coming, and so was she, but the point was they should think about what they know. They've fought psycho people before they could do it again. But things weren't as simple as she was making out, they never were.

"Or not..."

Deciding she really should shut up, she prepared herself for whatever was going to happen. The last thing she wanted was for her to taste reality at the worst possible moment. She had to think above the realms of what was possible...if she thought they could win, they might actually pull it off. Well if they had some sort of strategy.

"We do have a plan don't we?"

Extant went to see Spectre and Canary."Parallax old buddy old pal, I've been waiting for you."Extant smiled and raised a hand. Roman legionnaires came and grabbed Canary. "So Parallax have some wine, judge me and we'll see you return to hell when we're done." Extant yelled.

Fate tried another spell to turn the JSA back to their normal age.

While Extant was speaking, Hal could feel the Spectre-force wanting to judge the man, but the Legionnaires posed a bit of a problem. Hal knew that Dinah could take of herself in pressing times, but more Legionnaires could come from anywhere.

"Extant, I am not Parallax anymore. You cannot meddle with time." Hal said, hoping he could get through, "The Spectre must punish, but I wish to give you a chance. I know that your life has been hard, perhaps I can help you heal. If I can find redemption and forgiveness, then so can you. It is your choice."

Truth be told, Hal wanted to avoid a large fight, especially in a populated area. he avidly hoped that Extant would agree.

" Parallax old buddy old pal, I've been waiting for you"

Oh geez, it was going to be one of those days. She wasn't actually looking directly at either or them just sort of glancing in that direction. When the legionnaires grabbed her it came as a bit of a suprise. She knew something was going to happen but it was a mystery what. Dinah flinched but didn't fight back, well not yet anyway. She'd take every single one down if she had the chance, but right now she'd see if Hal could get some sense out of this idiot. She wasn't optimistic on that front, but you never know.

Blowing a strand of hair from her face she rolled her eyes, okay Hal was trying here, but still he was wasting his breath in her opinion. She'd just have to keep her mouth shut and wait.

Extant smirked the answer was just what he expected. "Parallax if you want you're old timer buddies to live you must help me pull off the crime of the century!" Extant grabbed a glass of wine and drank it in one gulp.

Spectre wasn't really surprised that Extant didn't listen, he hadn't expected him to, really. Hal had to take the chance, though.

"Extant, I am not Parallax. I will not help you in any crimes. And your threats mean nothing."

That said, Spectre, with a wave of his hand, turned the Legionnaires into swine. He also grew in size to twenty feet tall, and in his deepest voice, he said, "Surrender or vengence shall be given."

Yup, this was definitely one of those days. At least the legionnaires had been taken care of, so something good had come out of it. Hal with the deep voice though made her want to burst out laughing. She knew he was deadly serious when he was talking to Extant and that he would honestly carry out his threats. But the main problem was that Dinah knew Hal and this was just strangely amusing.She couldn't quite work out why either, maybe it was just nerves, she laughed a lot when she felt uncomfortable. She managed to avoid laughing though and with her composure intact, just sort of edged backwards away from the two because, well, things were bound to get messy.

Extant pointed at Dinah, "Do it Parallax or I send her back in time to die! Obey me!" Extant was now over the top insane, he wasn't listening to the Spectre now if anyone could stop him it would be a surprise attack but that's not happening.

Hector appears out of thin air, "Stop this insanity now Extant, once you were a hero but now you are stuck in the past!" Hector yelled he was ready to cast a spell but decided to wait and see if any of these JSAers would do something.

****Back at the JSA Headquarters****

{Sandman, Sandman,} says Dream, {Sanderson Hawkins, your friends need you awaken.}

As it is said, Sand wakes up screaming in horror as he sees his fellow JSA members aged. Sand looks at himself and realizes the he as not aged like the others.

"Extant!" growls Sand.

Seeing Doctor Fate, he realizes that Hector is working on a cure. Gathering sevearl weapons t oadd tohis gas gun and grappnel, Sand, throws on a trench coat, and says to Fate, "Send me to Extant, Fate, I don't know why, I'm not effectived like the others, but, I'm going to find out."

"Do it Parallax or I send her back in time to die! Obey me!"

Hal had hoped that maybe Extant could be reached, but by now it was obvious that was not going to happen.

Spectre, still about twenty feet tall, saw Fate and Sand appear. He was thankful for the new aid, but he truly wondered if they could do anything to help. Extant seemed to have finally gone well past the deep end, and Hal absently wondered if he was ever this bad as Parallax.

Not wanting to take any chances with Extant, Spectre decided to take the initiative.

He attacked Extant with a massive plume of flame from his hands, hoping to engulf the villain in blue-hot fire.

"What is with people and threatening to kill me? Is it some new cult - Kill the Canary?"

Dinah was currently continuing to edge away from everything just to refrain from walking over there and just hitting Extant out of sheer frustration. Okay so it would be a really bad idea, but it'd make her feel better for about a minute or so before he did carry out his threat and send her back in time. At least Hal had sort of taken control of the situation, how attacking someone with blue-flame could be considered taking control, she didn't know, but it meant something was happening. So all she had to do was continue to wait it out. Fun.

"Maybe there is a new cult Black Canary." Extant smiled he didn't care about anyone but Spectre. "Now Parallax I want you to kill Sand for me. His future is my downfall, so kill him!"

"That is unwise you maniac." Hector said looking at Sand.

Sand allows himself to phase, into the ground. He makes his way towards Extant underground.

Extant stands there laughing. Suddenly columns of rock shot up froom under the ground jagged edges over lapping the villian, trapping him in a prison of rock. Then sand flows up from the ground burying the Extant up to his head in sand. Then as Sand arises from the ground, Sand touches the sand turning it back into solid rock and glass.

"What are you going to do now, Extant, you can't age rock?"says Sand

Hal watched as Sand attacked Extant. Hal was a little surprised when Extant was only minimally affected by his flames. Was something wrong? He hoped not.

Thinking quickly, Spectre aided Sand's assault by creating a pit of quicksand around Extant's stony tomb, burying it under several hundred more pounds of rock, once he turned the quicksand back.

"Is it just me or does everyone else find this really un-nerving?"

The whole thing was just bizzare. Like one of those odd dreams you sometimes have that morphs into a nightmare near the end. This was what the whole scenario seemed like to Dinah. They'd come to Extant, who suprisingly hadn't tried to physically kill any of them yet. Sure there were threats but that's part of the job. Hal's flames had done nothing, which was amazingly weird and now the irritating villain was covered in rock. It made very little sense, it was just scarily easy. But that's the thing, hardly anything ever ends up being easy in this business, that's what was making the fishnet clad heroine so jumpy. Something was going to happen and she really didn't want to be here when it did. She half wished she hadn't come. Cracking her knuckles loudly she tried to relieve some of her tension, so she didn't look quite so worried. Stupid Extant, why couldn't he be some nice, easy to beat villain?
