hey guy's it's a very sad day for every metal fan in the world :'( .......if ya have no clue what i'm talking about, this is about ex- pantera member dimebag derrell who was shot and killed.....dimebag was a great guitarist and he was one of the best evvvver in the metal/hardcore scene......if anyone wish's to share anything about this topic please feel free...............now post people
Wasn't he like voted the 6th best guitarist in the world or something? I'd never heard of'im before, but there was like... a white-board monument for him in one of my classes at school.
Dimebad Darell was the lead guitarist for Pantera, Damage Plan, and Supercult Ritual and some others. Im not into the other groups, but Pantera was awesome. Apparentally, some crazy dude came in at the beginning of a Damage Plan show and shot five people, took a hostage and was shot by the cops. I also heard another member of the group Damage plan was killed there also.
He was one of the best guitarists in the world, but no one ever really heard of him because Pantera was always more of a cult metal band. If you were in to that type of music you knew who they were and what amazing riffs he was capable of. And his time in Damageplan was unfortunately short as the band only ever released one album which sadly did not do well.
The final reports from the incident are that the fan rushed onto the stage, put 5 bullets into Dimebag, killed one of the club employees, a fan and the band's head of security who stepped in to save the other members of the band. Two other people were hospitalized, one for minor injuries and one for more severe injuries.
He was, however, never the guitarist for Superjoint Ritual. That was a band created by ex-Pantera lead singer Phil Anselmo who had a falling out with Dimebag and his brother, Pantera and Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul, two years ago that lead to the break up of Pantera.
If anybody checking this out is a hard rock or heavy metal fan and have never heard Dimebag play I suggest picking up either Cowboys From Hell of Vulgar Display of Power by Pantera. Vulgar Display of Power alone is a beautiful display of what Dimebag could do, the riffs and solos on Mouth for War, Walk and F***ing Hostile are amazing. He truly will be missed.
