Title: Close call...

Robin - December 13, 2004 06:15 PM (GMT)
Hey guys,

Well, I was very lucky this weekend. On Friday night of last week, I was returning home after a movie with some friends. I was passing though an intersection, when some idiot ran a red-light and collided with my car. My car was sent flying across the street into a ditch.

The good news is, I survived.

That bad new is, I didn't come out unscathed. As a result of the crash, I had my left arm dislocated, a rather sever cut across my forehead and cheek from the windshield breaking, and a concusion. The later of the three, left me uncouncious all of Friday night and much of Saturday morning and afternoon.

I was hospitalized for the weekend while they ran tests and I was released a few hours ago. My mother keeps telling me to stay in bed, but I feel like I'll go stir crazy if I do that much longer.

The doctors say that I was extremely lucky, considering the severity of the crash. They were also suprised to find I did not break any bones during the accident, which is very suprising. (I've never broken a bone in my life. Knock on wood, I never will.)

the man who drove into me also survived, with only a bit of wiplash thanks to his airbag. Police as I understand from my parents aren't very happy with him.

As a result of things, my posting over the next few weeks will be even more sporatic than normal. I already missed two of my college finals as a result of my injuries (thankfully the professors have agreed to let me come in at a later date to make them up). By left arm is stuck in a sling and hurts like hell, and anyone who has had such an injurey know how hard it is to type.

I doubt anyone is really interested hearing all this junk, but I thought I'd let you know anyways.

Alan

Dude of course we're interested!!!

Glad to hear that you're ok! If you need the other guy to meet with the end of a thermal scythe I shall be happy to oblige! ;)

Jakazul - December 13, 2004 09:32 PM (GMT)
Couldn't've put it any better... Really.

Falcon - December 13, 2004 09:51 PM (GMT)
:(2 Oh man. Thats horrible!!!! Thank god your ok THOUGH!
The stupid idiot other driver should have his liscense taken away for that....Ah, if you give us his address though, I'm sure we could have him smiten.
Again, glad to hear your okay, dude. Get some rest and stay in bed SOME at least. Kay?

Shinobi - December 13, 2004 11:22 PM (GMT)
ah, the closes i have to an injury like that is actually when i broke my legs (both, although not at the same time...and...both do to my own stupidity...)

But hope ya heal fast, also i heard someplace that Spinich can actually slow down the healing process so stay away from that...(if you like it i mean)

And of course Merry christmas.

True Believer - December 14, 2004 04:46 PM (GMT)
Just glad to hear ur okay, Alan. By the way, I'm okay too. I'm not dead. I'm without internet connection due the sunovabitches from my internet company who tried to steal my precious money. My precious! My precious!! Er... Sorry about that.

Anyway, I'm glad nothing REALLY bad happened Alan. Hope u feel better soon.

Marx - December 14, 2004 04:53 PM (GMT)
Glad to hear you're alright Alan. Get well, for that driver is now on my list of those who shall face my vengeancy vengeance of vengeanceness! Which is a hell of a lot of vengeance!

Robin - December 14, 2004 06:39 PM (GMT)
Thanks guys. Its really nice to know that you are willing to use your blood lust so as to get squierly wrath for me.

I still can't believe I didn't break any bones. Its weird. I've litterally fallen off a building, gotten into fights, had an older brother, had my thumb locked into a car door THANKS to the older brother, and now gotten into a car wreck and yet not one broken bone. (It must be true what they say about milk...)

Thankfully I don't remember much of the accident. Only the inital hit and then waking up in the hospital. All in all, not the funniest of weekends

Shinobi - December 14, 2004 09:07 PM (GMT)
Yeah, i'd have to agree with that. Dont worry...my Ninja lobsters are already searching...heh heh heh heh. B)

deathfromwithin - December 20, 2004 05:22 AM (GMT)
dude...it good to hear u came out fine....it's hard in one of em car crash's i been in a few and they suck....u lucked out (good karma i say) great to see ur kkk and that ur still alive but now u have to deal with us ;) and try to stay safer dude

Robin - December 20, 2004 05:23 AM (GMT)
um... kkk...? What? +_+

And well, I didn't come out fine, death. Dislocated arm and concussion show that. But thanks anyways. I think...

deathfromwithin - December 20, 2004 05:38 AM (GMT)
lol kkk is my way of saying ok and umm u came out ok in terms that ur still alive...others wouldn't have been as lucky to make it out of that type of accident...and yea it sucks that u got hurt but hey ur alive right....and living is good.....right?(hell if i know)

Robin - December 20, 2004 05:45 AM (GMT)
I hoped that was what you meant, because when you right 'kkk' that normally means something other than 'ok' which is VERY bad. Possibly a something to consider in the future.

I came out alive, thank the gods, but I'd have perfered to not be in this situation at all. Thanks anyways thought.

atlantis - December 20, 2004 07:09 PM (GMT)
OH MY GOD!!

Ok, that really freaked me out Alan!! I'm really glad your ok and i hope really bad things befall the person who ran into you!! And then Marx and I will set our legions of Dooom on them, and then we'll introduce them to the rest of YJUTT and then....we'll lock them in a room with Kye!! AND...if theres anything left...I'll call ms.Spears for a personal concert....backing band is Hanson.

You really should have stayed in bed you know, your mom was right!! And I just wanna say that i'm glad your alright aside from the obvious, concussions are weird and i'm guessing you already know about the painful pain of a dislocation.

Sorry that it took so long for me to freak out and worry and panic but i just read.

Robin - December 21, 2004 01:02 AM (GMT)
Aww... you threatened to destroy another human being for me. How sweet. Thanks guys.

NutiketAiel - December 22, 2004 04:27 PM (GMT)
Belated congratulations on not being dead, Alan. :D2

Hope that everything feels better.

And to think, I was going to come on to complain about being rear ended yesterday (nobody was hurt, thank the Great Atheist Up In The Sky).

Anyway, hope you're 100% soon. I'll send Lyle over with some medical devise who's name I pulled out of my ass. ;)2

Falcon - December 23, 2004 08:22 PM (GMT)
No worries Lani, I already have the loser on twenty four hour suvielance. He's not going anywhere anytime soon..>~Whistles while sharpening extremely, ridiculously large sword~

Hope your feeling better or well on your way to it, Alan! I've only broke one leg before when I was six(never had anything dislocated though). So can't really remember how long it takes something like that to heal.
