Title: Who is REALLY the greatest detective?
Description: Whose the best brain of all

Shinobi - January 16, 2005 09:53 AM (GMT)
Well, tell me who ya think it is...after some thought on my part (not to mention going to bed its real late here) I'll put my selection up.

Oh come one, this isn't a fair question.

Sherlock Holmes was good WAY back in the day, but he is behind the times.

Batman on the other hand has all of Sherlock Holmes' detective abilities, plus decades of new skills, techiques and technologies and so on.

Before Sherlock could even analyize a clue, Batman would already be on his way to arrest the crook.

Point taken, but given the same century and the same knowledge of technology i'd have to put my money on Holmes. Dunno, he's always been just someone I liked...although...you have the point with batman...thats it i'm gonna have to flip a coin for my choice. Geez thanks for making me doubt my Sherlock Holmes choice Robin. heh

Robin - January 16, 2005 08:45 PM (GMT)
Even if they lived in the same certury and had similar knowledge in tech, Holmes wouldn't/couldn't beat Batman.

Batman is in charge of a multi-billion dollar company that creates the some of most advanced scientific tech on earth. Due to all the things Batman had access too, he is able to advance his detective skills every few months.

Besides, Holmes' opponents usually have a rhyme and reason to their crimes. He's never faced someone like the Joker, who doesn't act with an exact reason. It takes a true detective to understand that chaotic mind.

Alright alright, you've destroyed any arguement I may have had in favor or Sherlock Holmes.

Forgive me Holmes. I have failed you :thatguy:

But on a sidenote...how would you rank other dc detectives? Y'know like the question, the other members of the batclan and so on? Since...y'know you've proven that batman is greater then holmes. I am humbled by your powers of logic.

*takes out recorder* note to self, steal his brain. End note.

~Gee Alan, I bet you'd wipe Batman's arse if he offered :umm: An alot of Batmans skills, you can say are based on Sherlock Holmes, as he was the main man when it came to investigating. But if old boy Sherlock was around today, I bet he'd be up to speed with our advanced technology an have developed his detectives shills as crime has changes over time. But to be honest I reccon their preety even. Like, Batman is better coz times has changes, he has more resourses an technology at his hand, but if Sherlock was around today, he to would be as good as Batman. Am torn, I hate you all for makin me think of this! :ouchy:

oh, come on no contest. Anyone ever seen that "Sherlock Holmes in the 21st century" show? No? How about Batman? Yes? case in point.

Robin - January 16, 2005 09:37 PM (GMT)
+_+ No Chris, I'll leave the 'honor' of wiping Batman's arse to the same person who has to help you wipe yours. :P

I watched an episode of 'SHERLOCK HOLMES AND THE 21st CERNTURY' and I hated it. I am a big fan of the books of Sherlock Holmes, and I didn't feel that cartoon did it remotely any justice.

The Chris - January 16, 2005 09:42 PM (GMT)
~LOL I gotta admit, that was a good one Al, but am goin to be the bigger man an stop with the childish insults........ :thatguy:

I KNOW YOU ARE, BUT WHAT AM I!!!!? (sorry, am weak :glunk: )

Shinobi - January 16, 2005 09:50 PM (GMT)
Heh, i thought it was 'Sherlock Holmes in the 22'nd century' and agreed although the episodes were based on the stories by arthur conan doyle, they didnt do any justice to the stories
