When the Outsiders are contacted by the Markovia King, Geo-Force, about a kidnapped ambassador, Nightwing, Starfire, Indigo and Shift fly to the country of Zandia to make a rescue. Unfortunately the country of super-criminals prepares a warm welcome for our heroes.
As Starfire, Shfit and Indigo handled the Zandian forces, Nightwing rushed off to save the Ambassador, only to face off against the villainous archer Merlin in which Nightwing appears to been slain in the heat of battle just as Starfire and the others arrive.
But it turns out to not be the end for Nightwing as he soon awakes to find himself in a lifeless wasteland in the grips of a demonic presence. As he searches for help, Nightwing comes across a lone fighter in a battle for their life against the demons of the world. Little did he realize that this warrior is in truth, he deceased best friend: Donna Troy.
