Title: Bell of the Ball
Description: A Cinderella story? I don't think so!
Shinigami - February 18, 2005 12:29 AM (GMT)
To say the Elias High was buzzing would be a severe understatement!
Honestly, if a outside observer was a witness to the excited chatter that consumed almost every waking moment of the lives of the hyper school girls, they would conclude that the entire student body had been exposed to a large dosage of exstacy, heroine or some other drug designed to make the consumer a giggling mass of intolerably bubbliness!
And worse yet, it seemed that the teen super heroes hidden within this prestigious school had also been affected, it was a goddamn conspiracy, perhaps devised by the government to subdue and make docile the teen females of the state!
Every girl was in a flutter, studies pushed to one side as priorities were altered, girls gathering in packs to eagerly discus the preparations...
For the source of all this hulla bullo was...
"A BALL!" Duo ranted in aspiration raking her fingers through her loose waist length hair, the soft mass filtering through her naturally polished fingers to hang in woven drapes about her.
"Jesus Christ you'd think the Chippendales were coming for a visit promising to bare all!" Duo complained as she paced back and forth through her room, her feet brushing against a stray, empty donut box, courtesy of her and Marxy's appetite.
"Duo, calm down, look this is like, the most exciting this to happen at Elias E-V-E-R!" Cissie retorted, sounding out the word to emphasis the rarity of this occasion! "I mean...they're letting us have dates, to allow boys within the perimeter! I mean, that's a miracle in itself!!! And I know you're use to having a boy in your bed but we're not all as casual as you are!" Cissie jibed both fascinated and giggling as Duo blushed.
"Hey, Marxy and I are different!" She retaliated by throwing a cushion at the girl who yelped in protest as the rebounding cushion dared to brush against her dress that was hanging up, covered in several protective bags.
"DUO!!! Jeeze be careful!" Cissie yelled as she ran to check her dress.
Duo rolled her eyes, they had all been like it, Cissie, Cassie, Greta, all happily talking about the ball, they'd all gone shopping for their dresses a few days ago and had been casting loving glances at the wrapped dresses every two seconds. And all speech was about how they were going to have their hair, what makeup they were going to use, what they all thought of each others shoes...God the list just went on and on and on...!!!
Duo had taken it upon herself to escape most of the time to see Marxy or Sano to avoid the girlie talks, especially when they would yabber on about who they were taking as dates, especially Greta, Tim this and Tim that! Not that Duo had anything against Tim, he was a kewl guy...but she could only tolerate hearing how cute this bit of him was and that bit and oh lets not forget that bit!!!
Perhaps it's because she hadn't been around so much, or the fact that the girls had been so involved in their own preparations that they had failed to realise just how little Duo was making...or the complete lack of effort she had made...
Cissie suddenly looked at the blacked eyed girl as the realisation dawned on her. "Errrr, Duo...where's your dress, and shoes and...Please tell me you have a date!"
Duo looked at Cissie as though she were an alien, her jaw hung open and a look of acute disbelief in her eyes. "Cissie, no, I don't have a date, you want to know why? Because I'm NOT going!!!"

"I can see inside you, the sickness is rising
Don't try to deny what you feel
(Will you give in to me?)
It seems that all that was good has died
And is decaying in me
It seems you're having some trouble
In dealing with these changes
Living with these changes (oh no)
The world is a scary place
Now that you've woken up the demon in me..."
Will continued his mini concert inside the music store as some of the customers momentarily stopped their shopping to listen in. He still found himself surprised that he actually had a job here, but it just helped him feel more like he had a life outside of Harm. It worked out really well, the one thing he knew better than how to be a badassed superhero was music. And when it would get slow, the manager would let him play to attract customers. Reaching the end of the song, Will gave a nod to the couple of people who applauded as he put down the electric guitar. His shift was just about over and he had some shopping to do, which was pretty convenient since he was already in the mall.
"I'm off." Will stated as he gave one last look to his manager and made his way out of the store doing his best to acknowledge all those who had compliments about his playing. Looking around the various stores in the mall, Will eventually found the store he was looking for. To be honest he wasn't completely comfortable about this, he wore jeans and black tshirts all the time for a good reason. That's what he felt comfortable in besides his costume, but Cassie insisted. He had no problem going to the dance with her or even dancing there, he'd done it before, but he hated dressing up. Whoever made that rule about guys needing to wear tux's should be shot on sight. Luckily Cassie had been so excited she'd basically chose the tux for him so he only had to pick up. Looking at the tux with the non clip on bow tie, he could only groan in disapproval.

Tim Drake opened the door to his Bludhaven apartment and with a sigh dropped his book bag on the floor. Another day at John Wayne High School, another waste of his time. It wasn't so much the classes, but rather the students themselves. On his first day there, an entire group of kids had come over to him asking stupid and callous questions about the gang violence that occured at his old school back in Gotham; calling the school 'Alamo High' and calling him 'the Gotham gunfighter' or 'Tex'.
He had done a decent job of alienating himself from a good size of the students, by telling them off, but that didn't seem to stop them from constantly asking him about what happened and treating him like some kind of celebrity that he didn't want to be.
Did they realize how idiotic they behaved? People had died, and those kids acted like it was some stupid movie!
Growling under his breath, Tim walked over to the kitchen and grabbed a zesti from the fridge. He was still trying to get used to his new life in Bludhaven and living alone. Dana was still in the hospital, and the doctors were hopeful, but it was likely she would be there for a good long time.
Throwing himself onto the couch, Tim turned on the TV, watching a bit of an episdoe of Law and Order. "It was the nurse," he said to himself, having solved the crime in the early 15 minutes of the show.
At least he had something to look forward too. He was going to taking Greta to her school's co-ed school ball. He was never much for school functions, but Greta was really excited and that was enough for him. Though he wasn't looking foward to the actual dancing. He could do a lot of things, but dancing wasn't at the top of the list, despite the ballroom dancing lessons his mother had made him take when he was little.
McCoy was giving his closing arguement, when there was a soft knock at the door. Giving a smile, Tim leapt up and raced to the open the door. Standing on the other side Alfred Pennyworth stood with a suit-bag in his left arm.
"Hey Alf!" Tim greeted him warmly. "I'm so glad you could make it."
"But of course," Alfred replied, entering the apartment. "I couldn't very well let you go to your dance in that dreadful grey suit, now could I? Thankfully, I had time to to alter your tuxedo properly."
"You are a lifesaver," Tim said about to close the door when a hand shot out and halted the door.
"Hold on there Short-Round," said a very familar voice.
"Oh god..." Tim winced. "Dick."
Sure enough Dick Grayson stood in the doorway wearing a smile like the cat who swallowed the canary. Or in this case the Robin.
"What is HE doing there?" Tim asked Alfred with a slight growl.
Alfred gave a sheepish smile. "I... I may have mentioned your impending evening with Miss Greta to Master Richard and..."
"...I just HAD to give you some brotherly advise before you left," Dick finished.
Tim turned and began banging his forehead into the door.

“Peach..? or….Green..? Hhmmmm”
Cassie was lying on her bed, looking for the perfect hairstyle by flipping through all the fashion magazines that managed to navigate they’re way into their dorm room. “Greta? What are you doing to your dress?” She asked. After all, this had been going on for the last 10 minutes with all the colours of the spectrum.
“Its just…I cant decide what colour to have my dress…” Greta looked sheepish “…and seeing as I can change particles, the colour and shape of matter…I thought I’d see what looked best.” She finished, her face showing the traces of a pout. “This is my first dance and I….don’t want to mess it up”
Cassie couldn’t help but laugh, in a friendly way though. “Greta, honey” She said with a smile as she clambered from the bed “Its just a dress, its just a dance.” She gave a knowing smile. “And Tim’s coming to see you, not the dress.”
A little while later, after Greta had wriggled into her dress and Cassie had slipped into hers.
“I don’t know Cassie, I think the blue works better….” Greta said as she changed Cassie’s dress for the millionth time.
Pulling her hair up and twirling in front of the mirror. “I don’t know…try the other colour again please…..yeah….yeah I think that’s the one.” Cassie finally smiled at her appearance and at Greta in the mirror. “And you look so cute!!”
Once they’d changed back and were disusing what they should do with their hair and then shoes. “Cassie! Shoes!” Greta suddenly realised with alarm. “Oh No!!” In unison they yelled “They don’t match!!”

Flabbergasted!
Cissie King-Jones was a 100% Flabbergasted, pale complexion a shade or two paler than usual and her crystal, baby blue eyes were wide in shock, and in the depths of those flared eyes the reflection of one Duo Merquise could be seen...
"What...what the hell do you mean that you're not going!!!???" Cissie yelled with such force that Duo was sure that the very walls oscillated.
"Exactly as it sounds..." Duo said with a shrug, as she sat down on the edge of her bed, flicking her waist length hair over her shoulder with ease, a few shorter strands hung loosely about her bare collarbones.
"But...but why?" Cissie asked, she was still so shell shocked, her and the rest of the girls had been so wrapped up in their own proceedings that they hadn't realised Duo had been totally been avoiding the ball.
Duo lowered her ebony orbs and a faint blush stained her ivory cheeks, "A ball...it's just, I mean the dressing up, fancy hair and intermingling with all the rest of the girls, each trying to outshine one another so they can be the bell of the ball..." Duo sighed, feeling stupid in herself... "I'm a freak enough as it is, I really don't have to prove it by making a fool of myself in a revealing dress and high heels!" Duo said rolling her eyes in an exaggerated fashion, "And...What’s even worse than making a fool of myself in a dress and heels...is making a fool of myself in a dress and heels and doing so all on my own. This is a special night...and I have no one to share that with, and the last thing I want is to be the envious girl who watches everyone else dance away from the lonely corner of the room!" Duo said staring straight at Cissie who had a large, yet somehow sympathetic, smile on her face.
"Duo..." she said in that mothering voice of hers that was just shy of patronising, she positioned herself on the bed right next to the wingless angel, wrapping a thin arm about Duo's shoulders, being mindful of her back which, although was healing well, was still a little tender. "You don't have to sit in you're room watching cartoons whilst everyone else has a good time, you are allowed a little fun you know, in truth after everything that's happened recently you deserve to have some fun...and you're not going to look like a fool! You'll look beautiful!" Cissie said enthusiastically, only laughing as Duo cringed at the concept of her looking "beautiful!"
"Now not another word, we have to get you sorted!" Cissie said rising from the bed and heading for the door that connected their room to Cissie and Greta's!
"No Cissie I'm still not go..."
Her words of protest were cut short as Cissie burst through the door. "Girls, we have a mission and little time for completion!" She said storming into the room and taking centre stage, stopping the two girls concerns fro their own shoes. "Attention! Duo, until recently was not going to attend the venture of the year, I have persuaded her otherwise!" Cissie said proudly, hands on hips.
Duo, who had followed Cissie in aspiration, her eyes wide with worry, as she knew what Cissie was concocting! "Cissie I never agreed to..."
The feisty blond cut her off for a second time, her eyes sparkling with the impending challenge, she had always wanted to cultivate and make over Duo, her hands physically itching with the possibility of styling the angel's unique hair! "We have to get Duo shoes, a dress and most importantly a DATE!"
Robin - February 21, 2005 11:27 PM (GMT)
Tim stood before the full sized mirror in his bedroom as he buttoned up the white dress shirt that went up to the a simple wrap around collar at the next. He reached down for the small cold collar button with the dark blue stone in the sent and clasped it to the shirt. He stepped back and examined himself. Black tux pants, starched white shirt, cufflinks, dress shoes. Hair slicked back enough to look presentable, but not enough to completely lose his usually choatic spiky look.
"Aww... doesn't Timmy look precious..." cooed Dick Grayson who was balancing himself on the back of Tim's compute chair with one hand, while the chair spun around rapidly in place. "I could just eat you up."
Tim rolled his eyes and contemplated pushing the chair towards the window right behind Dick. 'No jury in the world with convict me...' he thought to himself with a smirk.
"Master Richard get down from there this instant," Alfred said forcefully as he re-entered the room with the final part of the outfit.
"I'm not going to fall Alfred, you know that."
The Wayne Butler smiled dangerously. "I am well aware of you skills and I kow perfectly well that that you won't fall of your own 'free wil'l, but if you do not settle down, than I shall assist in rectifying that opinion."
"Yessir..." Dick mumbled before flipping up and landing back in a seated positioin in the chair as it spun about one final time.
Alfred turned back to his youngest charge and helped him with the tux coat. As soon as it was on, he pulled a lint brush from a pocket and began taking away the unseen pieces. "You look splendid Master Timothy," Alfred said with a hint of pride. "I am certain that Miss Greta will be very impressed to see you something other than jeans or your Robin garments."
Tim smiled. "Thanks for the vote of confidence Alfred."
"Not at all," Alfred replied. "I am simply glad that some of my boys are willing to actually attend these sorts of functions."
"Hey no fair sticking me with Bruce in that!" Dick said loudly. "I WANTED to go to my school dances unlike him, but I was either busy helping him stop the Joker from nuking the city or with the Titans trying to stop some other psycho from nuking the world."
"And yet Master Timothy and even Master Jason, both of whome were in the same boat as you once were, were still able to do all three without difficulty... Hmm... yes I see." Alfred's lips quirked in the a sly smile and Tim stuck his tongue out at Dick.
"Hey now, what would Miss Secret say about that kind of behavior?" Dick smirked.
"That I should have added a slap upside your head probably," Tim replied.
"So how do you feel?" Alfred asked.
"Honestly? I kind wish I were fighting Two-Face. There'd be less pressure about embarressing myself."
Alfred and Dick shared a laugh. "Don't sweat it kid," Dick chuckled. "That girl is crazy about you. And as I understand it, that might be a litteral term." Tim shot Dick a harsh look, but he rose his hands in surrendering gesture. "I'M KIDDING!"
Alfred 'tsk'ed to himself as the boys spoke.
"No remember Timmy, if Secret offers to let you feel her up..."
"DICK!"
"RICHARD!" Alfred shouted loudly at the same time as Tim. "How dare you say such things. Now while I have yet to meet this young lady, I am certain that she is a fine young lady with proper morals." Dick dug his hands into his pockets and ducked his head. "And as such, I am certain that it will be a very long time in which she will make Timothy 'work for it'."
Both Tim and Dick shared matching looks of shock before both started laughing loudly. Alfred smiled innocently at the two fell to the floor with laughter.

Super flipped repeatedly through the two music channels. "I really don't get it, what's the point in having 4 MTVs and none of them have a decent music video." Leaving it on the best of the worst since the other ones were on commercials, Marx looked at the corner of the room which he'd yet to clean. It seemed like so long ago when he was almost paralyzed in fear in that very corner. But Duo eventually came there and helped him make his way out of his depression. Though even she didn't know everything that had happened when she was gone, it was almost better for her to think that he was just in that corner the entire time.
Turning his attention back to the music videos, he saw the terrible special effects of someone punching through a brick wall and breaking a post office box. "Oh like that's hard to do." The speedster said rolling his eyes with a smirk as he started straightening out his room. He could have easily done this with his speed but he'd gotten into the habit before he'd even gotten his powers of cleaning his room to the music which he tended to do at normal speed unless he had something else to do. At the moment he was a little bored which was why he was cleaning his room in the first place. As well as the fact that looking at his room in that condition kind of reminded him of the past couple of weeks which he'd rather leave forgotten.
"...oh the hell with it." Super said to himself as he began zooming around the room, and in less than a minute it was relatively cleas as he flopped on the bed concentrating on the videos once more. "Dude...that video sucks..." Marx couldn't help but to laugh at Electro's voice as he spoke through the comunicator. "I know, but nothing else is on." "Why don't you try flipping to the third MTV?" Super paused slightly before he fulfilled the cycle's request. "Oooo dude, you rock! I haven't seen this video in forever! Comin out of my cage and I've been doin just fine. Gotta gotta be down because I want it all!" "Yes, I know. What would you do without me." "Umm...be forced to watch pop star videos out of sheer boredom?" He replied sticking his tongue out, Super was glad that he'd finally gotten his sense of humor back. He hated being all broody and depressed.
Shinigami - March 4, 2005 02:37 PM (GMT)
To say Duo was shocked would not so much have been an understatement as a stinking great lie!
Greta, in the midst of her newly acquired powers had made her the most beautifully, stunning dress...and even more to Duo shock than that was the fact that she look half decent in it!
All the girls were in the process of dressing themselves, planting layers of makeup on their pastille faces and styling their hair. She was pretty much, as Cissie had so happily phrased, "sorted" for the night, save the tiny little problem of her lack of a date!
The girls, in the midst of their preparations, had come up with a variety of options, namely half every single teenage super heroing boy on the face of the planet...and a few who didn't originate from Earth!
It's not to say that Duo is picky, she had perfectly good reasoning for turning down the majority of them, like Risk her ex, Super boy would create waaaaaaaaaaay too much attention and the tension between Will and Kon would soooooooo not have been wanted...
"We could always go for the easiest option!" Cissie said, grasping a hold of the pale white telephone receiver, her finger poised elegantly over the buttons as she prepared to dial the number for Duo's "date".
Duo simply sighed, knowing she was most likely to regret these words but voicing them anyway. "Who are you thinking of?"
"Supersonic of course!" Cissie said dialling the number with haste before Duo could object, and much to Cissie's amazement she didn't object, in fact she got a very different reaction.
"Marxy is not the easiest option! In fact he's the best damn option that you've come up with this entire time!" She said immediately jumping to her best friend's defence!
"Good it's settled then...oh, hi Marx, have I got a proposition for you!"
Marx - March 5, 2005 11:36 PM (GMT)
"Cause I can feel you breathiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin! And it's keepiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiin me awake!" Both Supersonic and Electro sang in unison as Super danced around the room with the music blasting insanely loud. He'd gotten bored of the music videos when the same Jennifer Lopez video was on all four channels. He liked J'lo and all but come on. Turning off the TV he began to listen to one of the two CDs Greta had gotten him. Despite her hate of Ten, the girl actually had really good taste in music. He hadn't heard the majority of the songs on the mix CD but both him and Electro had listened to them enough that they could easily sing along with them.
They were singing so loud that Super almost didn't hear the phone ringing. Luckily Electro was still patched into the phone lines so it was almost impossible for him to sing and ring at the same time letting Super know what was going on. Quickly pausing the song and catching his breath Super picked up the phone.
"...oh, hi Marx, have I got a proposition for you!"
Flopping on his bed, an evil grin crossed Marx's face. Cissie sounded pretty excited so he knew that it obviously wasn't anything serious. Though that was the only other time that Cissie had called him before, but since this apparently was a different situation he might as well take advantage. "Proposition you say? Why Cissie! I had no idea you liked me like that!"
atlantis - March 22, 2005 12:51 AM (GMT)
As Duo continued to act obstinate over the idea of a date and the whole ball in general, Cassie and Greta kept in their little bubbles of happiness and excitement. The fact that she was acting like she didn’t want to go when they all knew she’d end up having a lot of fun wasn’t going to bring them down.
Cissie was the most fashionable of them all seeing as Cassie was a certified tomboy for the most part and Greta didn’t really understand things like that, although she had been learning from the many magazines that littered their dorm rooms.
Giuchie, Giuchie, ya ya dada (da-da-da)
Giuchie, Giuchie, ya ya here (here ohooh yea yeah)
Mocha Choca lata ya ya (yea)
Creole lady Marmalade
Voulez vous coucher avec moi ce soir (ce soir, what what what)
Voulez vous coucher avec moi
The Girls sang along together still in their dressing gowns, using hairbrushes for microphones as they did their hair and make-up. Greta, her hair in soft curls, was sitting in front of Cassie as she applied translucent pink gloss to her lips, she asked “What does that line mean anyway, in the song?”
The other girls exchanged glances and mumbled “Maybe..you should ask Robin?” Cassie smiled, barely wearing any make-up. Cissie giggled “Yeah, I’m sure he knows French.” She said as she started to worl on pinning Cassies hair up for her.
Eventually all the girls were ready, their hair was perfect and the makeup was set. They gave each other a good look over, inspecting every detail. “Ok, we need to be in the front entrance in time to meet the guys, lets go!”
Robin - March 22, 2005 06:14 PM (GMT)
"Do you have the flowers for Miss Greta?"
"Yes Alfred."
"And a handkerchif?"
"Yes Alfred."
"And a comb?"
"Yes Alfred."
Alfred smiled proudly at Tim, as he again, swiped off a few pieces of invisible lint from Tim's tux jacket. The three men were standing ontop of Tim's apartment, awaiting the arrival of Tim's ride to the Elais School. Being in Manchester, he couldn't well drive the Redbird or his Robin cycle down there in less than a hour. At least not without some hefty traffic tickets...
"Very good," Alfred said taking a step back.
Dick Grayson on the other hand wore a very disturbing cheshire cat smile. "And Timmy do you have your pack of--"
SMACK!
"OW!" Dick grabbed the back of his head and winced before glared at Alfred who's left hand was extended exactly at the point of where his head had been a moment prior. "What the hell was that for?"
"Watch your language. And that was too keep you from saying something crude that would be making a fool of yourself Richard," Alfred replied with a straight face before putting his hands behind his back. "As I must remind you constantly, now that you are an adult, I am no longer inhibited by the state child abuse laws."
Dick rubbed his head with a pout. "I was only going to ask if he had a pack of gum. You know... bad breath?" Both Tim and Alfred looked at him skeptically. "Man you two need to get your minds out of the gutters."
"Riiiight," Tim smirked. "Thanks again Alfred for you help. I owe ya one."
"Have a good evening Master Timothy and do give our bests to Miss Greta." He paused and then his brow furrowed. "And no crime fighting!"
Tim nodded and adjusting his tux, just as the Super-Cycle silently landed on the rooftop looking very excited. "Alright boy, let's go." And with a woosh, the Supercycle and Tim were out of Bludhaven followed by the BOOM of a Boomtube being opened.
A moment later in San Francisco, the Boom-Tube opened again and the Super-Cycle flew down towards Titans Tower in San Franscico Bay, landing perfectly on the roof of the giant T.
Robin had agreed to pick up Harm from the tower, since the Cycle would get them there in half the time, and it would be less conspicuious arriving in one vehicle than two.
Climbing off the Cycle Tim again adjusted his tux as he waited for Harm.
(Say... who's going to be Cissie's date?)
atlantis - March 22, 2005 07:30 PM (GMT)
(MWAHAHAHAHAAAA!! Someone who needs no transport my good friend :D)
Marx - March 22, 2005 07:38 PM (GMT)
"Stupid rassa frassin tie..." Will mumbled to himself as he straightened the suffocating bowtie. He swore the only reason he was wearing this stupid thing was because of Cassie. Sure he looked damn good in that tux but it was besides the point, he looked just as good in jeans and a t-shirt and could move around a hell of a lot better. As Will heard a loud boom, he unconsciously rolled his eyes. It was time, though on the bright side he'd get to see how beautiful Cassie and Greta looked in they're dresses, he was sure they'd be stunning.
Stepping out of the room, Will was almost tripped up by a black and white blur circling him. "Heywilllookslikeyouregoingtothedancetooseeyouthere!" Will raised one of his eyebrows and found himself groaning. Bart was going to be there too...just great. At least to his knowledge Marx wasn't going, between both speedsters trying to act normal it'd drive him buggy.
Finally getting outside Will saw Tim waiting for him in the Supercycle and hopped in, trying to find his balance with all these stiff clothes. "Hey Tim." Looking around Will noticed that Bart was nowhere to be found. "Guess 'Taz' is going to run there..." Will commented with a cocky smirk.
Robin - March 22, 2005 09:32 PM (GMT)
Tim shook he head as he sat down in the driverseat of the Super-Cycle again. "You know, I gotta wonder if Cissie is aware of the fact that with Bart going to the dance, the possibilities of the Elais School ever allowing boys back on campus has slimmed considerably." He gave a small smirk, as the Super-Cycle raised up into the air again.
Judging by the stiff movements that Harm was making, he was about as comfortable about wearing the tux as most men, Tim included. He was just lucky that he had more practice thanks to his parents throwing all those fancy parties when he was a kid and all the parties he had to go to at Bruce's place.
"So, anyone else we need to pick up?" he asked.
Marx - March 25, 2005 05:43 PM (GMT)
"Not to my knowled-" Will was interrupted as his comm-link went off. "Will! It's Supersonic! You'll never guess where I'm going! Elias is having this dance thing and...uh...what's that sound I hear?" The sound was of course Will trying his best not to bang his head repeatedly against the Supercycle. "How are you getting there Super?" "I'm thinking of taking Electro." Giving Robin a look that just screamed 'Why me!?', Will turned back to the comm-link. "Uh Super, don't you think Electro might draw too much attention...it'd probably want to get on the dancefloor itself."
As soon as it was mentioned, Super's cycle made it's voice known through the comm link. "Hells yeah! Ever seen a cycle dance? We'd put you humans to shame! Hmm, maybe I could invite Kirby. Then after we're finished shaking our grove things we can have some real fun-" Immediatly the Super-Cycle began to rev angrily. "Uuuuuh...while respecting her as a cycle." Will let out an annoyed sigh. "We'll pick you up Marx...no dancing cycles."
Will simply shook his head as he looked back at Tim. "..madness."
Robin - March 25, 2005 06:26 PM (GMT)
Tim pinched the bridge of his nose, as his mind was now filled with the ludicrious thoughts of a dancing motor-cycle who was trying to molest the girls and Kirby (who would be considered an illegal minor in comparision to Electro) with its handlebars. The Cycle was pulling its defensive father act, and Robin had to pet the chrome soothingly.
"Electo won't touch Kirby," Robin promised. "He know that you could take him apart before he could use his super-speed."
"..madness."
"You make that sound like a new occurance..." Robin muttered, as the cycle rose off the ground, still growling angerily.
A few short moments later they were landing at the YJ volcano, looking expectantly for Supersonic. "Wanna bet we'll never be asked back to the Elais School after this?" Robin asked.
Marx - March 30, 2005 12:01 AM (GMT)
"Between Marx and Bart, we'll be banned before the first dance. Guess we should try to have as much fun as possible." Will said with a slight smile as he leaned back and waited for Super. "My thoughts exactly! Fun! Fun! Fun!" Supersonic said excitedly as he literally flew into the cycle. "...oh God..." Will mumbled as he caught merely a glimpse of the speedster's tuxedo...all he saw was bright orange...lots of bright orange.
"Oh come on Will! You and Tim wish you could pull off this tuxedo!" Super said with a cocky grin as he straighted his jacked which was such a bright shade of orange it was almost blinding. The jacket, shirt, tie, possibly the socks, even the shoes were the same bright orange. The only thing that wasn't orange was the black shades Marx wore to hide his glowing red eyes. "What did you do Super? Raid the set of 'Dumb and Dumber' for that thing?" Will commented rolling his eyes. Though to be honest it really didn't surprise him, if Super had been in a regular tux, now that would have been surpising. "Of course not. I got it on Ebay. I'll be the flyest guy at the party."
"Yeah, only because you're the only one going who can fly." Will quipped with an evil smirk.
Robin - March 30, 2005 03:06 AM (GMT)
Robin stared at Supersonic's tuxedo in horrific shock and then began to rub his eyes in a futile attempt at erasing the image from his mind. He suddenly felt the need to curse Nightwing for training him in the memory excersises when he started as Robin.
"Oh my lord..." he murmered. "That outfit has got to be what an acid trip must feel like..." Shaking his head, he reved the Super-Cycle's engine and sighed. Duo was certainly in for a suprise.
"Alright gentlemen (and I use that term loosely), lets get moving. The girls will crucify us if we don't show up on time."
Marx - March 30, 2005 07:21 PM (GMT)
"Or worst. They'll force us to stare at Super's tuxedo." Will cracked with a smirk as he looked down as the Supercycle made it's way to the school. Though he quickly realized that he would have turn his attention elsewhere as he could see Marx mocking him out of the corner of his eyes, while sticking out his tongue...all the way to the other side of the cycle where Will was sitting.
Without even turning his head, Will quickly grabbed the speedster's tongue and pulled it much to Super's protest looking like some weird Looney Tunes cartoon. "Okay! Okay! I'll stop!" Super yelled though you had to give him credit for making that anywhere near understandable without the use of his tongue. 'I really can't wait til we get to this dance.' Will found himself thinking.
Robin - March 30, 2005 08:47 PM (GMT)
Tim adjusted the console of the super-cycle to open another boom-tube, but paused to look back at Harm and more specifically Supersonic who was nursing his tongue and ego.
"One last thing: Go easy on the super-powers," he instructed. "Cassie is the only one of the girl's who is a public super-hero but the others are trying to keep low profile, especially Cissie. She's still uneasy about the whole Arrowette past, even if she doesn't do it anymore."
He didn't wait for a reply, and hit the final switch, causing the massive votex to open again. As the flew threw, Tim pulled at the collar of his tux. 'No turning back now Drake,' he reminded himself.
He wasn't all the good with crowds. Too much time in the cave he supposed. He went to a couple of dances when he was dating Ariana, but with Spoiler and Falcon, there was never anytime for such thing. He wanted this evening to go well for Greta, but a part of him wanted it for himself.
His father had said how he wished Tim spent so much time with his Robin duties and not enough being a kid. Jack understood Tim's need for Robin and respected it in the end, but still...
The almost instantly arrived at the end of the boomtube, and flew over Manchester, landing in the nearby park. Tim climbed off and looked at the gates to the school.
"Alright boys," he said finally. "Lets go."
Marx - April 6, 2005 09:51 PM (GMT)
Will and Marx hopped out of Supercycle landing next to Tim. Marx straightened out his bright tuxedo as he looked around. It felt weird to be welcomed here after he'd sneaked into Elias so many countless times to see Duo. The few that knew about him had actually grown accustomed to him being in the room. Had snacks in the fridge for him and everything. He found himself wondering what the girls would look like, as close as he was to Duo he couldn't think of a time he'd ever even seen her in a dress.
Before they got through the gates Will suddenly put his arm around Tim's shoulder giving him a devious smirk. "I think this pretty much goes without saying and all, but you do know I'll kill you if you hurt my sister right?" Despite how much it sounded like a threat there was a genuine smile on Will's face. Will knew he couldn't intimidate Tim, but that wouldn't stop him from getting the obligitory 'protective brother' threat out of the way...especially since neither Greta or Cassie were there yet to stop him.
atlantis - April 29, 2005 10:11 AM (GMT)
Cassie was finding it hard to breathe, and also finding it impossible to get that song by Maroon 5 out of her head. They had been waiting in the front enterance for their dates to show up, its far more scary than fighting hordes of demons or sitting a final.
"Awww, don;t worry Cass, if theres one person who wouldn't miss this for you its Will" Duo said with a smirk, languishing an arm around her friends shoulder. "Trust me, that boy is so whipped" Cassie shrugged her off, not because she didn't appreciate her friend but more that she didn't want Duo to inadvertantly mess with her hair.
Cissie was checking her make-up in a small hand mirror and Duo did the same, almost mocking her. "Do you really think Bart's mature enough to understand all the effort you went through?" Cissie just closed the mirror with a snap.
They all understood that Duo was basically freaking out because, like them, she had a date who was showing up too and she was worried that the others would show up and Marx would leave her standing there.
"Hey Greta, what if the Bat-beeper goes? Will Tim bail on you?" While the others were content to ignore her, Greta though otherwise. Leaning up because she wasn't the tallest of people, she murmured so only the 'fallen-angel' could hear. "You know Duo, You should deal with your insecurities a different way..... If i hear a Bat-Beeper.....I'm going to unmake your dress." Greta gave one of her small smirks "You know I can, and i doubt you have much on under there."
All of a sudden it seemed like the gossip from the other girls died down and there were hushed whispers as the boys suddenly appeared at the door. They were all so different from one another, especially the two in the forefront in careful conversation. One moved fluidly in the Tux, adaptable to any situation. Neat dark hair and dazzling blue eyes that made him look like a 'good boy' but there was something in the way he carried himself that he was not all he seemed, while the other had long hair and a wild look that seemed to say he'd be happier at an out of control party or a satanic ritual than in a Tux at a heavily supervised high school dance. There was weird energy between the two, like they were getting along because someone told them they had to. Each waiting for the other to slip up so they could take them out.
Following those were two guys who must have OD'd on Pixy Stix, talking beyond incomprehensibly fast. The one with the shades was obviously wearing them becasue of his suit. Which was bright orange. He looked like one to watch, a prankster, you could tell by his smirk. The final one had hair that could have been a separate entity all on its own, you also really wanted to see him dance with those big feet! The sparkle in his eyes and the flash of a grin was all you needed to tell he was a fun loving guy.
Guys like this, this...interesting, weren't really seen by these girls so when it became clear who they were here to see there were some hashly muttered words and bitter looks. "Marx!" Duo almost yelled releived, bowling between practically everyone to get to her 'Date' with a quick hi to the others.
"A tux huh? I am impressed." Cassie smiled up at Will, the most suprising pairing possibly. She messed with his tie a little, seeing the glinting of the Wonder Girl necklace still around his neck. "So you want the first dance? She said as she rustled around him in her simple (yet elegent) red dress. "I'll let you lead?"
"Why Tim, fancy meeting you here." It was easy to tell that Greta was nervous, smoothing out her baby blue dress skirt. "I have a confession to make.I..I..I really suck at dancing."
"Good Lady" Bart mock-bowed to Cissie who curtsied back. "Good sir" She took his arm and they began to walk to the main hall. "I like the dress" He commented on the deep purple number she'd eventually chosen "I like the tux" She smiled "I don't, I wanted to wear one with this cool tie, has flashes on it, but Jay thought this was more apropriate." He mornfully pulled at the butterfly collar. "Tell Jay I appreciate it." Cissie tried not to laugh "He's not the one that has to wear the Tux! But then they were both laughing and it felt pretty good.

"I think this pretty much goes without saying and all, but you do know I'll kill you if you hurt my sister right?"
Tim looked at Will with a side glance, raised eyebrow and smirk of his own. "While I totally respect your position of the older brother, Will, I personally think I should be more worried of what your sister would do if I ever hurt her, wouldn't you agree? 'Hell hath no fury like a woman's scorned'."
His smile widened. "But I promise you and her, I always do my best to take care of her."
The boys passed through the open gate, and quickly caught sight of four girls standing in wait. Each were like earth born angels, but Tim's eyes were fixed solely on the one with blonde hair and a blue dress. He felt his normally grim face quirk into a smile.

"Why Tim, fancy meeting you here." It was easy to tell that Greta was nervous, smoothing out her baby blue dress skirt. "I have a confession to make.I..I..I really suck at dancing."
Tim chuckled, before shooting a side glance to his left, his right, and then leaning into to Greta. "To be honest: I'm probably worse. The electric slide wasn't part of my extra-circular training, exactly..."
Tim straightened himself and cast a glance over his date. "You look beautiful... Absolutely brillant," he said earnestly, before leaning in to brush his lips over hers. He then held up a small clear container, that contained a beatufiul flower displace with an assortment of white roses, set upon a dark blue wrist band. He opened the container and pulled it out before taking Secret's hand in his own.
"It matches your dress," he realized as he slippped it onto her slender wrist. "Remind me to tell Alfred is a miracle worker when this night is over."
Marx - April 29, 2005 10:35 PM (GMT)
Will found himself trying hard not to laugh at Tim's comment. It was completely true, despite Will being the older brother, Greta could easily take care of herself and if he did hurt her, she probably would be more dangerous than Will. But no matter how powerful she was, Will could still only see her at his cute little sister. Looking up he saw her along with the other girls who were all so gorgeous he was momentarily speechless.
"A tux huh? I am impressed. So you want the first dance? I'll let you lead?"
Will's smile only got bigger as he leaned in close and whispered in Cassie's ear. "You do realize that I totally hate these things and the only reason I'm wearing it is because of you right?" He then swiftly grabbed Cassie's arm and gave her a twirl. "But I suppose I can tolerate it for one night. You look absolutely beautiful, by the way. If you couldn't tell by the sound of my jaw hitting the floor when I saw you."
"Marx!"
Marx smirked devilishly as he looked at Duo. You'd never know that she was a wingless fallen angel whose killed countless people and was technically the oldest one there by looking at her. She looked like a normal girl, after all of her hardships she deserved this night and Marx wasn't going to let her down as he struck an ironically superheroesque pose. "Go on. Tell me how badass I look in this. It's true, I know it! The others were getting so jealous in the Supercycle they just randomly stretched out my tongue for no good reason.." He then stopped kidding around at least for the moment. "And I must say, that this being the first time I've ever seen you in a dress. You look great Duo."
Shinigami - May 1, 2005 11:36 AM (GMT)
Duo refrained from giggling at the sight of her best friend and "date" prancing proudly in his almost luminous orange tux. Strangely enough the look worked for him, looked even more dashing with the shades...that was kind of strange though, Duo hardly ever saw Marxy wear the shades around her anymore, although she understood the necessity, if the rest of the girls of Elias High saw the speedster flamed eyes it might raise a weeeeeeeeeee bit of suspicion!
"And I must say, that this being the first time I've ever seen you in a dress. You look great Duo."
Duo smiled and shamefully felt a slight heat develop in her cheeks, truth be told he felt incredibly uncomfortable in the get up and was convinced that she looked like a tramp compared to the rest of her friends who carried off the look with an elegance that she never knew they had.
"Thanks..." Duo said, taking a hold of Marxy's arm, mainly to keep herself upright as the task of walking in high heels turned out to be surprisingly difficult. "Thanks for coming Marxy...wasn't sure you would, you know, this isn't really yours and mines kinda thing...I don't think we can get away with a super wedgie or a water bomb parade this time." She joked nervously...
She was nervous, she felt the most out of place of everyone, hence her not originally wanting to go...and her few meanish comments to the other girls...she hadn't meant to be rude...it was just a confidence issue...and Greta had easily picked up on that!
Marx - May 7, 2005 11:33 PM (GMT)
"Thanks for coming Marxy...wasn't sure you would, you know, this isn't really yours and mines kinda thing...I don't think we can get away with a super wedgie or a water bomb parade this time."
"What are you talking about? There's no way I could leave you hangin." Marx said with a wink as he accepted Duo's arm. He could tell that she was a little awkward in this setting, so he and his almost glowing tux would do their best to make sure she was more comfortable. It was the least he could do after all she'd done to help him recently. While he totally agreed that a formal dance wasn't really his and Duo's realm of expertise he was always up for a challenge.
Marx suddenly got a mischevious smirk as he looked at Duo. "And as for the whole no pranks we can do at the dance thing...that my friend is what you think. We just have to wait for the right opportunity to produce itself." Super's mind began almost swimming with the possibilities of the many embarrasing pranks he could do to make sure that if guys wouldn't be invited back again they'd at least have one hell of a time before they left.
Shinigami - May 13, 2005 08:58 AM (GMT)
Duo smirked at Super's suggestion to keep their eyes open for the opportunity to perform a prank, knowing him he would do so and all...well, even though Elias high was loaded with snobby-arsed girls who deserved to be pranked until they cried, tonight was a special night...and everyone deserved to have a good time, especially the tired, worn out teen heroes who had seen far too much pain of late.
"Come on, why don't we head inside, the hall has been specially decorated!" Duo said, gently pulling on Marxy's arm to direct him inside.
Marx - June 28, 2005 03:04 PM (GMT)
Marx smiled as he was led inside the hall by Duo. He had to admit that he'd snuck into Elias so many times that it was a little weird to be invited. "Whoa.." The speedster said as he looked at the many decorations, its surprising how they can change the whole feel of the place as he began to hear all the chatter of the other girls and guys who were slowly coming to the dance. Of course Super was the only one there yet with such an...eye catching suit which was just how he liked it.
Something spinning behind him caught Marx's eyes as he looked back to see Will spinning Cassie as they'd already begun to dance. "Wow, they didn't waste any time did they?" Marx commented with a smile, while he'd much prefer fast dancing he'd watched enough TV to be able to slow dance as well...he hoped...
Robin - July 1, 2005 09:49 PM (GMT)
(And Tim continues to wait for Greta...)
atlantis - July 2, 2005 10:53 PM (GMT)
Greta appreciated that Tim was trying to make her feel better with the comment about the electric slide, though she felt he was far more talented than he let on. She should have known that her eyes most likely shone with as much brilliance as her smile did when he complemented her beauty and openly kissed her before anyone who cared to watch.
When he revealed the flower it took her breath away, she’d never had the oppertunity to go out on a date with a guy before, let alone been given something like a corsage at a ball!!
He definitely knew how to treat a girl, or maybe she was just easily pleased?
She blushed a little as he slipped it on. “Oh Tim! …Its …its so beautiful …Thank you so much.”
"It matches your dress, Remind me to tell Alfred is a miracle worker when this night is over."
“Alfred?” For some reason the name sounded familiar but she wasn’t entirely sure why. She looked across to the hall full of spinning couples.
Cassie and Will were already whizzing around the floor, making up their own dance moves regardless of the beat. At one point they performed The Tango despite the fact the DJ was playing Hanson at the time.
“You’re a pretty good dancer baby” Cass said flintily, as he span her. “You definitely make a good mover” She murmured quietly, moving closer to Will’s ear “...I need you… in my bedroom… Stat!” Moving back she grinned wide, flashing her teeth. “It needs to be rearranged when I redecorate.”
Moving on to our third happy couple in the type of transition you only get in comic books, It had taken Cissie everything she had to keep Bart from taking off the terrible Hanson track before but now they were performing a wild and dangerous swing dance that could be used as a form of martial art.
“Cassie and Kon perfected this when you went all Low Profile!!” Cissie said as energetically as Bart danced.
Greta turned back to Tim, hoping to join her friends on the dance floor.

QUOTE (SECRET)
“Oh Tim! …Its …its so beautiful …Thank you so much.”
Tim's smile grew a bit at the happiness that the corsage brought her. They both whent through so many things this past year, and he was glad to be able to do anything to bring out that child-like smile of her's.
Slipping his hand into her's, they began to follow the others into the school. His mind was fixated on her, until he heard her say the name 'Alfred'. Tim's eyes grew just a little bit wider in suprise. 'Oops...' Tim thought to himself.
"Um... yeah, Alfred," Tim began, opting to go for a small explination. "He's a friend of the 'family'. Well maybe not a friend. Kind of a grandfather-figure. He's been with the boss since the start."
Tim made obvious to avoid saying specific names, in a public area. Although the elder Titans like Cyborg, Raven, Starfire and Beast Boy know that Bruce Wayne was Batman, many of the younger heroes were not privy to that knowledge. Tim had often wondered how much to tell the others. But it wasn't his secret and Alfred was primarily Bruce's secret.
As they entered, they could see Bart and Cissie cutting a rug, though it was obvious that Cissie had to keep a firm hold on Bart to keep the speedster from destroying the DJ's entire music selection. Tim looked over a Greta, who was casting a somewhat longing look at him and the dance floor. Tim smiled, but it was a nervous smile that normally wasn't associated with the Boy Wonder.
He offered her his hand and pulled her to the dance floor, before leaning in to whisper into her ear: "Remember, I warned you how bad I am at this."
Marx - September 12, 2005 03:55 PM (GMT)
"There is just no way that I'm going to have everyone dancing better than we are." Marx said with a smirk as he looked at Duo. If you looked hard enough you could even see his eyes giving a slight flash from inside the shades. Taking Duo's hand he went into the dance, taking quick glances at the other dancers to make sure he was doing it right and adjusting his moves accordingly. Though him looking at the others wasn't that obvious thanks to his speed, his eyes resting on Greta wasn't quite so subtle.
Will span Cassie into a dip as a way to get her closer to him before smirking as he looked into her eyes. "Hey, I'm cool with any excuse to get in your bedroom." He had to admit he was totally enjoying the atmosphere of the dance. It was almost magical, and from his unique perspective he knew magical when he saw it. He'd begun to focus only on Cassie as he danced. Will had a habit of doing that from time to time, it was the same when she'd visit him at the music store when he was playing. He did his best to let her know he was playing for her, the same went for him dancing. Honestly he could care less about being here and hated being in a tux, he was doing it because he knew it'd make her happy. A tap on his shoulder momentarily snapped Will's attention away as he saw one of the Elias girls had done it.
Shinigami - December 30, 2005 09:46 AM (GMT)
Duo smirked as Super grabbed her hand and she watched his muscles taunt at first, but relaxed with time as he adjusted to the swells of soft music that floated through the grandly decorated hall, and his dancing steadily improved.
She herself was well equipped to dance, she had learnt many different dances as a child, part of her education as a young lady...subtly she took the lead when they first started to dance, guiding Super with gentle nudges and faint nods of her head and she was pleasantly surprised when his confidence reached the pinnacle point where he reclaimed the lead from her...
The movements were free flowing despite constrained by the rues and regulations of the dance; they came so naturally that she need not focus on her feet as the graced the ground. She glanced about the room, watching, as the various couples engaged one another in laughter and happy, shy looks...no more so seen with Greta and Tim. The faint rouge tinge of their cheeks revealed all too well the concealed excitement and their shy dispositions when it came to one another...Duo was more than happy for her friend...
However...it had not escaped her notice that she was not the only one devoting her attention to the blossoming couple...Supersonic too seemed captivated by the sight of them...but more intensely his focus was on the petite, blonde haired, blue-eyes form of Greta, whose own attention was faithful to Tim...And...
She did not sense jealousy in its raw form, but enriched with a faint longing and a guilt for feeling that way...
Duo felt her stomach churning painfully, a good dose of reality will do that to you, however, she held her posture and her head high, feigning with admiral success a happy frame of being, as she blocked out Marx's feelings...In truth she was surprised he hadn't attempted to shield them from her...well...not so surprised...
His attention on Greta was sooo absolute that even his dancing was losing it's rhythm and grace, as was unceremoniously demonstrated by the pain now radiating through her foot!!!
Marx - December 30, 2005 05:48 PM (GMT)
Originally Marx was a little nervous as he was dancing but that was mellowed out pretty soon as Duo helped him with what he didn't know. Soon afterwards he was just going with the music, no longer really paying attention to the actual steps, it was just movement to the music. It was like he knew what she was going to do which let him know what to do in turn. But his mind began to wonder as he set his eyes once again on the form of Greta. He wondered if they would dance as well together as him and Duo were. Soon he found himself fanticizing about dancing with the beautiful warder. Both of them complimenting each other so well that it was almost like they were floating, or they could have been floating since they can both fly that's the cool thing about daydreams.
In his mind they were both the center of attention, as everyone was marvelled at how two people could go together so well. And soon the people weren't even there anymore, it was just Marx and Greta in the ballroom continuing the dance without even needing the music. He hadn't even realized that his lack of attention was actually affecting the way he was dancing with Duo. To make matters worst it wasn't stepping on Duo's foot that snapped him out of it. It was the wince that followed it. He might have been focussed on Greta, but considering all the things they had gone through, Duo sounding like she was in even the slightest pain would snap him out of anything.
He quickly realized what he did...since his foot was still there...and quickly moved it. "Oh! Duo I'm so sorry. I just...got kind of distracted. Thoughts going at super speeds and all...you know how it is...I'll try to focus more..." Marx was trying to hide his slight embarrasment. He could just sense that something was off now, like Duo had become a little more distant. He knew it had to be more than just him stepping on her foot, maybe she'd been daydreaming as well. Marx tried to regain the feeling they had when they first started dancing but it was beginning to feel a little awkward and forced.
"Hey!"
Super turned as he heard Cassie's yell and he quickly discerned the problem. Another girl had decided to cut in on Will and Cassie's dance and Will was too polite to just shove her away. And needless to say Cassie wasn't very pleased. Marx stared at the girl who'd stolen Cassie's dance, and began to wonder why she looked so familiar. It then hit him that she was one of the girls who he and Duo had waterbombed awhile ago with pink hair dye. Seemed that Duo hadn't been exagerrating when she said that they deserved it. But hey, it was great timing when you think about it the right way. "Remember that thing I said about the right opportunity for a prank?"
Shinigami - December 30, 2005 11:13 PM (GMT)
Duo found her smirk returning at the suggestion of a prank, she knew that Super would have a few ideas up his sleeve on how to make the arrogant little, snot faced girl wish she'd never placed her goggled eyes glare on Will.
But then again...everyone was having such a wonderful time, the sound of gleeful laughter and flushed compliments laced the air and Duo really didn't want something soo exuberant to ruin the night, no matter how much this little slag deserved it!
"Don't suppose you can do subtle pranks can you?" Duo asked, practically forgetting about Super's daydream episode...the prospect of the 2 of them conspiring together was too sweet to pass up...
Although Duo couldn't quite understand why she was bothered by Marxy's goggling of Greta anyway...she wasn't...jealous...was she?
Duo shook the feelings away; it was a ludicrous suggestion...
Marx - December 31, 2005 01:07 AM (GMT)
Marx's smirked looked all the more devious as he practically had fangs. "Can I make it subtle? I wouldn't be a master prankster if all of them were obvious would I?" It seemed that the idea of the prank had caused both Duo and Super to regain their connection as the two of them pondered. As the Titans and YJ knew, possibly the worst thing you could do is have those two planning a prank on you. Super's pranks were bad, Duo's pranks were sometimes worst, but both of their twisted minds together caused a bad prank to become an ingenius one.
As Marx looked around he could see why Duo didn't want it to be obvious. With the exception of Cassie everyone was having a great time, and while he'd joked about having as much fun as possible before getting thrown out he really didn't want that to happen, so causing another food fight probably wouldn't be the best option. "Let's see, we need to do something bad that'll also make her not want to draw attention to herself. Something that would make her run away, without messing with her hair because that would just be repetitive." Super fought the urge to form a light over his head when he came up with an idea. "Hey remember those 24 hour stick on warts I left in your room awhile ago? If I was able to get a couple of those on her, she'd be out of here in a flash and wouldn't dare draw attention to herself doing it."
Super then began to roll his eyes and act innocently. "Of course it takes those things like 7 seconds or so to really stick, so while I could move quickly enough to get them on I wouldn't be able to distract her enough so that she wouldn't realize they were there. If only I had a partner in crime that who could get her attention after I put on the warts."
Shinigami - January 1, 2006 12:27 PM (GMT)
Duo's midnight black eyes seemed to develop a glint in their ominous depths as Marxy relayed his idea to her and a sinister smile graced her lips.
"Marxy, that is soooo deliciously brilliant, and I take it that I shall fill the role of the distraction?" Duo asked in an innocent tone that failed to match her scheming face.
Her eyes scanned the scene, observing Cassie's angry glare and Will's uncomfortable stance, this was gonna be sweet!
"Mission "wart girl" commencing" Duo said with a nod to Marxy as she stalked over to the malicious girl, what Duo was about to do went against almost every fibre in her being, she was about to do something so horrific, so incredibly mortifying that if Marxy did not succeed in placing the warts on the horrid girl Duo didn't think she'd be able to continue living!
"Hi Heidi..." Duo said with feigned sweetness, receiving an annoyed glance from the girl who was in the process of sliding her hand over Will's chest. "I'm sorry to interrupt but I just had to say..." she refrained from cringing, "that that dress is gorgeous! Where, oh where did you get it from!?" Duo said, imitating the tone Cissie frequently uses when she has seen an item of clothing that she wanted.
Duo had decided to play on the girl's vanity, have her be so entranced in her own "good looks" and in an attempt to show off to Will by receiving compliments from fellow classmates that she would fail to notice anything else going on around her and would make the warts all the more humiliating for her!
All Duo had to do was pretend to be nice for a little while...God she hoped she could hold out as the sweet, innocent smile plastered onto her face felt like a lead weight!
Marx - January 1, 2006 09:02 PM (GMT)
Super almost forgot what he was doing when he saw Duo's distraction. Even he was surprised by how out of character Duo was able to act and still make it work. But before he could go he had to do a quick glance to make sure no one would notice him disappearing for a second or two. As he looked he backed up and ended up bumping into Cissie and Bart. "Oh sorry about that." Marx apologized but he couldn't hide his devious smirk. A smirk Cissie knew all too well. "Oh..God...I know that look. What are you about to do?" Marx smirked all the more and nudged his head in the direction of Duo, Will and Heidi. But by the time Cissie had looked back to Super, he was gone. Cissie began to rub the bridge of her nose, she knew it was damn near impossible to stop one of their pranks once it was in motion.
"Bart...tell me what he's doing...slowly." Bart cocked his head to the side. "Well...he isn't really doing anything slowly. I can follow it and all but it's pretty fast." Cissie fought the urge to strangle the speedster before talking very slowly herself. "I meant tell me slowly!" "Oooooh why didn't you just say so? You can't really expect me to know what you mean if you don't say it can you? I wise man once said 'Say what you mean and mean what you sa-" "Bart!" "Okay okay. He ran out the room. Then came back with something in his hand. I think it's...ooooo 24 hour stick on warts. Very nice choice. Those are pretty good brand as well. Environmentally friendly and everything." Cissie stared blankly at Bart for a few seconds. She still hadn't gotten used to all that knowledge he crammed in his brain.
Originally Will had been very nervous about the whole situation. He'd wanted to go back to Cassie but Heidi wasn't taking no for an answer. It was flattering and all but he did all this for his girlfriend and that's who he'd prefer to dance with. But as soon as he saw Duo's "nice girl" act he was at ease and played along out of sheer curiousity of what her and the seemingly missing speedster were planning. He almost wished he still had his powers just so he could follow it. But he didn't need them as he began to see multiple warts appear on the girl's face as if by magic. He began to give subtle glances to Duo so he'd know when he could mention it. The suspence as well as the willpower of not laughing was just getting too much. Meanwhile Heidi was completely unaware and was soaking up Duo and Will's praise of her clothes and makeup. If Duo had even in the slightest wanted it, it seemed like she might have even gotten Heidi's approval because of her "good taste". Finally Will noticed Marx getting up from behind the refreshment table and gave both of them a nod.
Seeming almost genuinely concerned Will slowly turned his head to the side. "Um, Heidi, was it? You said that was a new perfume right? I...think you're having an alergic reaction or something..."

Half way through Duo's forced compliments her face began to morph from the sweet innocent smile into a barely supressed smirk.
"Um, Heidi, was it? You said that was a new perfume right? I...think you're having an alergic reaction or something..."
Duo's onyx eyes feflected all to well the horrified expression of Heidi as she reached up to her face and her fingers ran gingerly over the warts that had covered her face.
Heidi inhaled deeply, a disgusted gasp as her hands began to rub frantically and Marxy's 24 hours warts holding up to the challenge.
"Nice one Marxy..." Duo whispered...

Will was doing his best not to react to Heidi's expression, but it was priceless. He had to admit that when he wasn't the target, Marx and Duo's pranks were just awesome. Heidi's face had turned bright red in horror before she disappeared so fast that you'd have thought Super had pushed her. Marx stepped away from the table and looking at Duo and Will took a bow as Will and Cassie applauded, which was probably confusing the few of the dancers who were paying attention. "May I have this dance?" Will said politely as he held out his hand to Cassie. "Yes, yes you may." Cassie replied with a soft smile as the two of them once again began to join in with the other students and dates dancing.
Now that the prank had been done and the ending result had been reached, Marx looked back to Duo with a smile. But even though he didn't have pupils and was wearing shades over his eyes anyway, you could tell that he was still glancing at Greta from time to time. He'd thought that she'd have at least looked over to see the prank in motion but it seemed her focus was completely on the boy wonder. Since the two started to dance Marx didn't even think that she'd looked over in his direction once. Feigning a smile, he looked back at Duo and put out his hand. "Could we try again?" Even though they were just friends, she was technically his date afterall. Was it really fair to be gawking over another girl the whole time?
