Title: Favorite Non-DC Team
Description: 'Nuff Said y'all

Robin - February 23, 2005 04:15 AM (GMT)
Yes, this is a DCU site, but just for the hell of it, tell us which comic based team of Super-Heroes not associated with DC is your favorite?

Is it...

The X-Men. Mutants charged to protect a world that fears and hates them.
The Avenger. The World's Mightest Heroes.
The Fantastic Four. The First Family of Heroes.
G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero.
Or is it a team like the Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtle, Thunderboltz or Gen 13?

Cast your votes people and tell us why!

Marx - February 23, 2005 04:34 AM (GMT)
I don't read that many comics outside of DCU, so I'm going to be a little biased. :P I'd say Gen 13, and the original Gen 13 not the new one which I haven't been reading. Which is partially because I don't think it'll be as good as the original and unlike Teen Titans they didn't reuse any of the characters to my knowledge. But I've gone away from my point which is...Gen 13 ROCKS! I would have voted for DV8 but they are technically villains lol.

Jason Todd - February 23, 2005 06:06 AM (GMT)
I voted other since Ghost Busters have a comic out

Ohhhh yeah :D

Wait new Gen 13?

Robin - February 23, 2005 06:10 AM (GMT)
Acutally, Ghostbusters wouldn't really count. They weren't comic book characters first. I was speaking about characters were are originally set as Comics, such as X-Men, Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles and so on...

And since when did Ghost Busters have a comic book out recently?

kidflash3 - February 23, 2005 06:24 AM (GMT)
when did TMNT have a comic and what company was the series published?

Robin - February 23, 2005 06:35 AM (GMT)
The Teenaged Ninja Turtles were originally created in 1984. They were self-published black and white comic book that Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird produced together in their homes. The initial print run of that first issue was only 3,000 copies.

They were then bought by a cartoon company and made into an animated series that in all truths mutilated the original story. April was never a reporter, but rather a scientist assistant. Splinter wasn't Master Yoshi, but his pet rat who mutated. Krang never existed, but his species was in truth a benevolant species responsible for the mutatgene that transformed the turtles.

It was one of the first comics I ever own.

Awww....that wasn't really specified........And they're comic just came out a few monthes ago, I think they're on like issue four or five

And its the Other category, its a whole bunch of teams crammed together in there. Okay if no Ghostbusters..then....Thundercats.......CVO....BPRD......

Robin - February 24, 2005 01:43 AM (GMT)
I did write Comic based, which entails created as a comic originally. The teams was based from a comic.

Thundercats is a cartoon originally also. And I have no idea what CVO or BPRD is.

Jason Todd - February 24, 2005 05:33 AM (GMT)
CVO

Cover Vampire Operations from IDW

Or BPRD

Bureau of Paranormal Research and Defense from Hellboy

Robin - February 24, 2005 05:34 AM (GMT)
Never heard of the first one. And that's saying something...

NutiketAiel - February 24, 2005 09:47 PM (GMT)
I voted for the Legion, of course. :-D

Just kidding.

In all seriousness, I voted for the Fantastic Four. They're great; the family dynamic makes for interesting character interaction, and I love cosmic storylines.

My second favorite non-DC team would have to be the Ultimate X-Men, though (the only X-Team I can stand).

Robin - February 24, 2005 10:10 PM (GMT)
Both fine choices.

I vote for X-Men, though my second choice would be TNMT.

Jakazul - February 26, 2005 07:08 PM (GMT)
Fantastic Four.
I like Cpt. America and Wolverine, but neither of their teams overly thrill me.

deathfromwithin - February 26, 2005 09:25 PM (GMT)

Robin - February 26, 2005 09:48 PM (GMT)

atlantis - February 26, 2005 11:05 PM (GMT)

Jason Todd - February 27, 2005 09:43 PM (GMT)

And the Avengers just aren't getting any love...

Robin - February 27, 2005 09:51 PM (GMT)
Yeah, but Franklin Richards hasn't joined the team yet... Sorta... Kinda... lol

Jason Todd - February 28, 2005 05:57 AM (GMT)

Robin - February 28, 2005 06:56 AM (GMT)

But with a small amount of editing you guys will look as silly as i do now!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!
(Though i think i have it messed up now)

NutiketAiel - February 28, 2005 04:01 PM (GMT)
What are you talking about? She mentioned Sue in the second line.

Boy, you guys look silly.

(Before everyone gets on my case, yes, I know that she edited it afterwards. I am just helping in the effort to make you all look silly.)

Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha!!

John Stewart - February 28, 2005 04:27 PM (GMT)
I like the old Avenger with Hawkeye, Thor, Gaint-Man (or any of the other heroes he has been), Wasp, Iron Man, Captain America, and all the others., but Wolverine, and Spider-man The Avenger that is messed up and all the guys I liked are now dead or something. Marvel messed up the The Avenger.

Robin - February 28, 2005 04:49 PM (GMT)
*Jim finds himself in a sleezy cocktail dress, being forced to sing 'Remember Me' at cosmic gun point*

Now who looks silly smart-guy? And you better hit the F-ing high notes or Andrew Loyd Webber will get'cha.

NutiketAiel - February 28, 2005 04:54 PM (GMT)
Oh, no, not Andrew Lloyd Webber!!

Robin - February 28, 2005 04:55 PM (GMT)
He made Micheal Crawford cry like a toddler, he could do it to you too.

atlantis - February 28, 2005 05:28 PM (GMT)
"Go Jim!!"

*Crowd gets out lighters in appreciation*

NutiketAiel - February 28, 2005 06:24 PM (GMT)
*bows to Lani and the crowd* Thank you, thank you.

Robin - February 28, 2005 10:06 PM (GMT)
*Audience then lights their seats on fire and begins throwing them at Jim*

Hmm... Maybe its different there in England, but when the audience does that in America, I don't think its a good thing...

NutiketAiel - March 1, 2005 01:32 AM (GMT)
Not a good thing? The flaming chair tribute? it's a great thing!! Almost as good as if they were throwing rotting vegetables at me.

Robin - March 1, 2005 01:44 AM (GMT)
Soo... all those electro-shocks have finally melted your brain? Well, I knew it was bound to happen. So I guess Andrew Loyd Webber, coming at you with a knife and murderous look won't bother you, huh?

*Sits back with popcorn* I've never seen a crazy man get stabbed by a crazy broadway man. Should be interesting...

NutiketAiel - March 1, 2005 01:49 AM (GMT)
Nope, doesn't bother me at all. Can I have some popcorn, too?

Robin - March 1, 2005 03:04 AM (GMT)
Hell no. I don't want blood in my popcorn.

Jason Todd - March 1, 2005 03:10 AM (GMT)
Can....I have some bloody popcorn?

Robin - March 1, 2005 03:29 AM (GMT)
What are you? A vampire? Or just plain sick?

Cause either way, Marx and me hunt your kind. Well, he controls them and I hunt them... but anywhoo...

*Grabs Jim's bloodied wound and drips some into a bag of popcorn and hands it to J.T.*

Go to town and enjoy.

Shinobi - March 1, 2005 03:49 AM (GMT)
Hmmm...this is my big chance! *runs out on stage*

*starts singing* I AM THE VERY MODEL OF A MODERN MAJOR GENERAL!...*gets hit in the face with a watermelon*

*someone from the audience* IF you disgrace ANY ozzy songs i'll kill you!

Robin - March 1, 2005 04:44 AM (GMT)
Who said that?!

*A man in back raises his hand*

You dare threaten Justin... *Alan waves his hand and a gun flies into the auditorium into the man's hand* ...without the proper armory? There you go. Have fun.

Shinobi - March 1, 2005 04:50 AM (GMT)
Cant you cut me a break just once? *hold alan in front of self as a sheild* y'know...i think this might actually make things worse for me...

Robin - March 1, 2005 04:51 AM (GMT)
Gee... ya think?

NutiketAiel - March 1, 2005 06:31 AM (GMT)
*takes the knife that Andrew Lloyd Webber stabbed him with out of his back and clears his throat, then begins again*

OOOOOOoooooohhhhhhh....

I am the very model of a modern Major-General,
I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral,
