Title: New YJ Story
Marx - March 1, 2005 11:53 PM (GMT)
The current YJ story is on it's way to ending, so I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas for the next storyline.
Shinobi - March 2, 2005 04:25 AM (GMT)
We could do one with the members talking to each other, getting to know one another to act as a more effective team. Learning about one another, basically interacting...?
Lame I know...
Robin - March 2, 2005 07:12 AM (GMT)
Um... Justin... that's the story the YJ team just did. Introducing Young Justice 3.0 was about the characters getting to know each other, talking with each other and then saving the day...
kidflash3 - March 2, 2005 11:40 PM (GMT)
how about we have them get transported to the 30th century and they have to cooperate with their future selves to stop something that will happen to them?
Marx - March 3, 2005 01:30 AM (GMT)
Future selves? Wouldn't they be kinda...dead in the 30th century? Unless you mean their ancestors, that could be cool. A little like New Justice.
Quracen - March 3, 2005 01:43 AM (GMT)
Now do we really want to know that there will be a Supersonic in the future... I think not... :P But that does sound like a cool idea I guess, then again anything would be fine with me ^^
EDIT: Not everyone has to be sent to the future, of course
Marx - March 3, 2005 02:00 AM (GMT)
lol What can I say, I'm still partial to Falcon's idea of deaging some of the YJers to little kids. You think Future Super would be bad I don't think you'd want to see infant Super. :P
Shinobi - March 3, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
Hey it was late when i wrote that, gimme a break...
And hmm...going into the future could be cool...hey...combine the ideas! some of the team gets de-aged and the culprit is the only one who can turn them back...and has fled into the future!
Marx - March 3, 2005 02:54 AM (GMT)
lol! Deaged and then having to go to the future to either meet their future selves or further ancestors? That sounds so confusing, but it has some serious potential for being silly. It's got my vote!
Shinobi - March 3, 2005 02:57 AM (GMT)
uhm...wouldnt it be descendants? Ancestors would be like their great great great grandparents.
Marx - March 3, 2005 03:01 AM (GMT)
....
eh...
....
That's what I said. Don't know where you heard ancestors from, cuz I sure said descendants. Yesiree. *clicks on the modify button* :D
Jason Todd - March 3, 2005 08:39 AM (GMT)
This storyline was to get to know each member? Dang lol missed that theme

Ya... That doesn't make sense. And Marx is right, the can't coorperate with their future selves in the 30th century since they would be... well... dead.
And umm... guys, I know I won't be actually involved in this storyline since I don't have a YJ character, but haven't we done the traveling to the future storylines enough already? Since the creation of the YJUTT, we've have 6 (maybe 7) different storylines where our character have gone to the future and met possible future versions of themselves. Only about 2 or 3 of them ever got finished.
Couldn't there be a new storyline that doesn't involve time traveling? I mean, the concept is really starting to get stale, since its the same group of characters going into the future all the time. Supersonic, Falcon, Secret, Invisible Kid, Shinobi have all met their future selves from three different alternate timelines and they've met their grandchildren at least once each.
We're falling into a rutt.
Shinobi - March 3, 2005 11:30 AM (GMT)
hmmm...well....if going 'back to the future' isnt viable, what about the past?
Or...the old standby DEMONIC INVASION!!!!!!! nah...i really got nothin'
Marx - March 3, 2005 01:11 PM (GMT)
I do agree with Alan to a point. We have done a good bit of future stories, "Time Warp" "What If..." "The More things change"(part of What If...") and "New Justice. But on the other hand, while Supersonic, IK, Falcon, Secret and Shinobi have done future stories. I can't remember if Gabe, Sano, CM3, or The Ray have and it wouldn't be completely fair to not let them get a chance just because we've done it before. I guess it's up to you guys, I'm cool with it either way since the deaging would be a twist.
Just one request. Even though I'm probably going to be hypocritical in this sense could we try to have at least half the team with happy futures? I've tended to notice that when we go in the future, most everyone's tends to suck, kinda takes away their motivation. Keep in mind as I'm typing this I've already begun thinking of a sucky future for Super. ;)
kidflash3 - March 3, 2005 04:24 PM (GMT)
Jason Todd - March 4, 2005 07:58 AM (GMT)
ah I dont care about my characters future lol
Alright though Im only good at fantasy RPG ideas here some of my shots at this
The YJUTTers go off to some planet or whatever for a mission and when they return they're treated like criminals, and later they confront the dopplegangers impersonating them
okay okay.....
hmmmm
the kids get they're minds switched with each other and they have to fix it...
its really late and my brains frazzled,,,,,
Robin - March 4, 2005 09:36 PM (GMT)
Well, we already did the mind switch thing way back when we started the site. The old Switcharoo. Robin got switched with Might Endowed (he had big boobie!), Wonder Girl and Harm, Duo and Supersonic, etc...
That story with YJ treated like criminals would actually be a cool crossover story with one of the other teams. Having one group be considered villains and having to fight their fellow heroes while trying to clear their names.
Marx - March 4, 2005 10:50 PM (GMT)
The doppleganger one sounds like an awesome. If we did make it a crossover I think the Titans would the best bet for them to have to fight since they have the most connections with them. But would that really be a main storyline since we're still in the process of a Titans/X-Men crossover?
Quracen - March 5, 2005 01:49 AM (GMT)
I'm all for whatever the hell you guys decide, oh and Marx you better say it right now... You do NOT want to have to post as the villains again do you? I think that storyline sounds oddly familiar to me. :-p
Just to spin things around we could always send someone into multiple worlds of different books, i.e. LoTR, Harry Potter, what have you. You know they would be searching out the villain in the books. Thats all I got :-p
granted I am up for ANYTHING!
Marx - March 5, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
Ha! Trust me when I say I'm not going to be that many villains at the same time again for at least one story, the Deviants will be back but I'll let someone else be GM if they want lol.
So so far what we've got is.
1. Deaging/Going into the Future
2. Going off-planet and evil copies ruin YJ's image(possible crossover)
3. Going into different worlds through fantasy books
4. Filler type story w/ party and a villain attack.
lol We could always make a poll. Any other ideas?
Robin - March 5, 2005 01:58 AM (GMT)
The LOTR or Harry Potter crossover sounds rather similar to the current X-Men/Titans crossover (not to mention my Robin & Batgirl/Lord of the Rings Crossover, but I digress)
Well, honestly, I think we're going to wrap up the X Marks the Titans storyline soon. Its suffereing, so after a brief stint in the Danger Room, the Titans and X-Men are going to track down the enemy and we'll get closer to ending. Assuming everyone posts a bit more, would could be done by the end of the month if not sooner.
But I think that doppleganger storyline would make a great story with or without the Teen Titans involved.
But if you want to do crossover story and need a filler storyline until the Titans are finally done, I might have a suggestion. Now, I won't be GMing the story (cause I really don't want to GM another story right now). One of your guys would do it if you wanted. I'm only offering an idea.
In Hawaii there is a big party called the Aloha Festival. It was created in 1946 as Aloha Week, a cultural celebration of Hawaii's music, dance and history intended to preserve the unique traditions of Hawaii. It took a year to plan the first Aloha Festivals and in the fall of 1947, the festivities began. Since then the celebration has expanded to include over 300 events on six Hawaiian islands over a two-month period. Basically a lot of fun with half-naked women in cocanut shells and men playing with fire.
What I was thinking was that YJ decides to attend this festival, but low and behold some dipstick villain shows up to ruin the festivities. Super-villain, god whatever. The team faces the evil and they fight they win, end of story, everyone goes out for pineapple juice. It would be like one of those small filler stories they do in comics. It has nothing to do with any big storyline
The only problem I see, is this story might be too close along the lines of the INTRODUCING YJ 3.0.
So like I said, its a suggestion. Though frankly, I much perfer J.T.'s idea.
kidflash3 - March 5, 2005 02:43 AM (GMT)
I like the story where we crossover with the Titans and having YJ be the villans, I also like the Hawaii party story. About the Party story, we could have YJ being in their civies, having a good time, then some villian comes and they are asking for Young Justice so "we" have to take care of this problem. Or the villians could be the DV8's wanting to settle the bout from the previous story.
Yet I'm up for anything though!
Robin - March 5, 2005 02:48 AM (GMT)
Well, yeah, that's bascially what I just said, kidflash3... And of course they'd been i their civies. You didn't think YJ would be walking around in their costumes did you? Can you say 'mob'?
And I doubt the villains would be the DV8. Marx said he didn't want to GM the storyline and he's the only one of you guys who knows the characters well. Another villain would be needed. I don't know, Doctor Light or Mallah and the Brain. Someone who isn't the big of a threat.
Jason Todd - March 5, 2005 09:51 AM (GMT)
Well doc Light kinda became a threat again
bah villains......
Robin - March 5, 2005 07:08 PM (GMT)
Doc Light is a threat in the new Titans storyline. That doesn't mean when all is said and done he won't become a loser again. Just look at the Riddler or Prometheus.
Marx - March 5, 2005 08:05 PM (GMT)
lol That's true, and Mallah and The Brain seem like something of a threat now in Batgirl now that they've joined with whoever that morphing girl is.
What if we mixed the filler and the deaging storyline. Would make sense, especially if the villain's a chump that he'd try to get the edge by deaging some of them. Sorta our own version of Sins of Youth.
Robin - March 5, 2005 08:37 PM (GMT)
Dreadging? That's the future storyline right?
So you really want to do yet another Alternate Future 'lets see how screwed up our character's are going to be' storyline? heh.
Marx - March 5, 2005 08:52 PM (GMT)
No no, not the future part, just deaging some of the characters lol.
atlantis - March 5, 2005 08:58 PM (GMT)
Ok, I have a small insignificant suggestion. What if we have a Teen Titan/ Young Justice crossover where some get de-aged and some don’t. The thing is that the ones who have been de-aged won’t remember their futures. This means we’re going to have so happy little kids around causing issues for the poor people who have to look out for them. (Example- Harm telling Secret that he hopes he’ll get a sister like her when he’s adopted and he’ll never let anything bad happen to her. Robin all care free and happy…) Just an idea but maybe split the teams like this?
Kids
Supersonic
Falcon
Harm
Robin
Wonder Girl
Beast Boy
Poor Shmucks
Batgirl
Duo
Superboy
Raven
Invisible Kid
Secret
Shinobi
Gabe
Sano
The Ray
CM3
Marx - March 5, 2005 09:20 PM (GMT)
Small? Insignificant? Pshaw! I totally like the idea of them not remembering their futures. Long as they keep their powers, all would be good. :D I like those choices for deaging too, and not because both my characters are deaged either lol.
Shinobi - March 5, 2005 09:28 PM (GMT)
YES! I love this idea!
Good stuff. Funny stuff.
Quracen - March 6, 2005 12:04 AM (GMT)
Yes, let us all rejoice for Lani has given us what we have all been asking for, a story! Hoorah! Wonderful suggestion Lani!
Robin - March 6, 2005 02:38 AM (GMT)
Soo... which story are you going to do? The filler story with the Aloha Festival, The Doopleganger adventure, or the kiddie hero story?
NutiketAiel - March 6, 2005 02:47 AM (GMT)
Wow. I wish I hadn't been absent for the last couple of days; I have a story idea that I've been nursing along for a little while in my head. You guys mind if I mention it anyway?
Most of the major storylines in YJUTT that I've been involved in have been of a more light note, so i was thinking of somehting a little bit darker.
Scientists in a respected research hospital are testing a new combination drug/radiation treatment designed to regenerate dead tissue, which would cure a host of ailments (certain kinds of blindness, paralysis, brain disorders, etc).
However, the experiment goes horribly wrong, and instead of re-animating the dead tissue god as new, the treatment kills the patients and reanimates all their tissues in a parody of life, and in short order the entire hospital is over run by zombie creatures that threaten to spill out into the surrounding city.
Young Justice must:
1. Contain the zombie threat and protect the population of the city.
2. Find a way to restore the patients (if that's even possible).
3. Discover what went wrong with the treatment itself and find an explanation.
4. Try not to get turned into zombies themselves (or, worse, have their brains eaten).
It could have some light moments in it, but overall the tone of the story would be pretty serious, and would present some serious role playing possibilities, the least of which would be the moral dilemma- is it OK for the heroes to kill these deformed undead creatures, or can they still be saved?
What do you guys think?
Marx - March 6, 2005 03:25 AM (GMT)
So it'd pretty much be like YJ meets Resident Evil? Sounds like a cool idea and I'm getting the feeling that we might need a poll to really decide which one everyone wants to do, either that or everyone actually posts their decision.
Robin - March 6, 2005 03:39 AM (GMT)
Actually... it sounds exactly like Resident Evil. That the entire RE plotline. You know... without the major suck. (I'm talking about the movies, not the video game)
Now I've got this mental image of a YJ sequence where they are running around and look like their in old school video game (super mario bros. for example) and everytime they hit an opponent they vanished a >300 Points< appear where the foe once was.
And actually it wouldn't be a dellima. Its already established in Super-Hero mythology that if a person is dead and re-animated like a Zombie, they they are not considered to be a human and thus can be slain without moral or legal ramifications. If you read anything comics that involve zombies and demons you'll see that everyone, even Batman who won't kill period, goes around cutting them up like so many thanksgiving turkeys.
Shinobi - March 6, 2005 07:53 AM (GMT)
Yeah, that is odd
Still...it would be interesting..so conflicted!
NutiketAiel - March 6, 2005 03:49 PM (GMT)
Resident Evil? The name rings a bell, but I'm not familiar with it.
And just because it's not a moral dilemma for Batman or Robin doesn't mean it wouldn't be one for Invisible Kid or Secret or Gabe or whoever.
Quracen - March 6, 2005 04:37 PM (GMT)
Yes Marx I believe a poll would be better, and honestly when Iw as reading your suggestion IK, the first thing that came to mind was Resident Evil :-p
