Title: Decisions Decisions
Description: Yeah, that's the actual name...
Marx - March 15, 2005 11:51 AM (GMT)
The PM sped to a screeching halt as Will stepped out of the car in front of the Titans Tower. As usual he had a cocky smirk on his face from the fact that he was able to drive insanely fast over water no less and still stop expertly. Over time Cassie had learned not to unconsciously clutch onto the chair for deal life, of course there's no way Will would have let anything happen to her, especially because of him. After some pestering Will was finally able to get it out of Marx exactly how he made Electro so fast, this was only the beginning stages.
Looking over, Will rolled his eyes as he saw the outfit Cassie was wearing. "Uh...Cass? You do know that the disguise isn't fooling anyone? How many people do I let ride shotgun...even better you're the only girl I hang out with...Greta's short." But his voice wasn't condescending, it was quite obvious he was trying to keep from laughing as he looked at his girlfriend, dubbed in shades and a black wig. He supposed he knew why she was disguising herself since they were meeting up with a couple of other heroes trying to decide how to throw Bart a surprise birthday party. He personally could have cared less but Cassie insisted.
"Kon'll be keeping him busy so you don't have to worry ab-" One of Will's eyes began to twitch slightly as he saw a blur heading straight for the Tower. "Oh for the luva..." But Will quickly found out he was wrong as Supersonic stopped right by the PM. "So, how did it go, with the new adjustments and all? And hi Cassie, cool hair."
atlantis - March 16, 2005 12:23 AM (GMT)
Cassie threw the wig to the floor in disgust after Marx greeted her. "Oh God! I don't even know why i keep this damn thing anymore you know!" she moaned, the horrors of her days in Young Justice coming to mind. “It was a stupid disguise too, its like wearing glasses to work and no one realising who you are!!” She took a deep breath and hit Will with a playful punch in the arm “And I better be the only girl you hang out with….Hey Marx.”
Will then got hit in the other arm as Greta gracefully got out of the PM and gave him a ‘short’ point. “Who are you calling short? Maybe you’re just freakishly tall! Did you think about that?!” She moved to where Marx was loitering. “Any ideas for the party then? You seem about as up to speed as Bart.”
Quracen - March 16, 2005 12:30 AM (GMT)
Ray landed, after flying for a short while. His destination was of course, the Tower of the Titan’s team, although he needn’t enter. Ray assumed he was early, for he didn’t see Supersonic or any of the other heroes Marx was bringing with him. The purpose of their meeting was straightforward; they were going to discuss some plans for a party for Bart, more commonly known as Kid Flash. Through Ray’s eyes, he saw how the energetic speedster needed this party after all he deserved it.
Ray paced back and forth on the lawn of the Tower thinking over the endeavors of Kid Flash. Many of his adventures went back to the era of Impulse. His days on Arsenal’s Teen Titan’s weren’t boring wither, especially with Changeling’s betrayal. For a second Ray stopped for a moment, it was funny both of them, Kid Flash and Ray, had been betrayed by a close friend, and yet in the end it was more or less, fine. Then of course there was Impulse’s entire birth, not a dreary story at all. Sadly the two contacts were on differing teams, much of the information he had been given of his adventures was dulled down. And Kid Flash was known for his exaggerations…
Ray now was in the shadow of the Tower, the dark green grass hiding his feet. He heard some commotion near-by and so he followed the voices. He saw the small group of people, one member was Super, clearly they were the ones he was waiting for.
As Ray walked towards them he saw Greta, Secret, Cassie, Wonder Girl, and a man with a dark aura about him. When he was several feet away from the group Ray waved, greeting them all. “Super,” He said, nodding, looking at the hooded figure, “Greta, Cassie, and… Harm was it?” He looked at each of them in turn.
“So is anyone else coming, hopefully you didn’t come up with any ideas while in… That.” He said pointing at the mobile.
Robin - March 16, 2005 01:03 AM (GMT)
"Well, let just hope we can keep Bart in the dark about all this," said a voice from behind. Robin was seated on a low stonewall while casually taking a bite out of an apple, chewed it for a bit and swallowed. No one had taken notice of him arriving at the tower much less take a seat. "I was talking with Wally West the other day and apparently after last year, Bart has proven himself to be quite the detective when it comes to suprise birthday parties."
"Also I found a few of my eavsedropping devises missing from my room and found half of them set up around the Tower. By the way, girls, I'd suggest you take a look at your underwear draws. That was the only place I didn't look," he blushed a bit, 'and knowing Bart, that was probably the first place he stashed the remaining devises."
It sounded like a good idea to throw Bart a birthday, after everything that had happened to the speedster over the last couple of years. Bart was as resilant as anyone he had ever known, but he had little doubt that even the former-Impulse deserved some good old-fashion fun.
Standing up, Robin moved over to stand besides Greta and taking her hand giving it a loving squeeze. He wanted to do a bit more than hold her hand, but he was in costume and it would probably have been a bit inappropiate to kiss her passionately infront of the troops. Still, the temptation and side glance he gave Greta spoke volumes to her.
"What about throwing the party at the Flash Meseum over in Keystone?" Robin asked. "I'm pretty sure I could rent out the place for the party, and you know how Bart loves that place."
He paused for a moment and raised an eyebrow. "Wait... did you guys say Superboy was keeping him busy?" Robin trusted Superboy, but Kon was known for having a... big mouth at times, if last years Christmas gift to Lois and Clark had been any indication...
Marx - March 16, 2005 01:30 PM (GMT)
(lol What was the gift to Lois and Clark?)
"It's going pretty well actually, the speeding adjustments are done it's just the outside that needs to be-" Will started before he got hit in both of his arms by Cassie and Greta. "You two are so violent." He said with a smirk from the pure irony of the statement coming from Will of all people.
"Any ideas for the party then? You seem about as up to speed as Bart."
Of course the problem was that Super had bunches of ideas. Not necessarily good ideas, as a matter of fact most of them were just downright bad. But they were ideas! Though luckily before he could voice any of them, he took notice of The Ray's entrance.
"Super," He said, nodding, looking at the hooded figure, "Greta, Cassie, and... Harm was it?" He looked at each of them in turn.
Will nodded as Ray acknowledged him, he didn't know much about the guy, but since he'd grilled Super countless times especially on the other guys on the team his sister was on Ray seemed pretty cool. "That's right. You can call me Will." He said giving the closest thing to a smile anyone Will didn't know really well was going to get. Hearing a very slight rustle, Will turned to see that Robin was there as well...though even he didn't know how long he'd been sitting there.
The loving squeeze that Robin gave Greta's hand didn't go unnoticed to Will. But he'd already had a talk with Greta about the relationship and the agreement was reached that if Will even tried to give Tim a hard time about the situation, Cassie would mysteriously find out some slightly embarrasing things about Will's childhood. Seemed like a relatively fair deal to him. Though he still felt the need to protect her, though in all honesty who better to do that than Robin?
"Wait... did you guys say Superboy was keeping him busy?"
Will smirked as he heard the tone in Robin's voice. "He was the best person we could find on such short notice. My original choice was Cissie but she was busy with archery practice." He said with a shrug, even now Will still had well known issues with the Kid of Steel. Even though he didn't know the exact specifics of the reason, it was blatantly obvious who it centered around as he gave a slight glance to Cassie. "The Flash museum sounds like a good idea to me. Where are we going to buy the supermarket amount of food we'll need for all those speedsters in one place?"
Supersonic could be heard snickering slightly. "Only a supermarket? Me and Duo could eat all that ourselves." Will dropped his head with a groan, chances are if Super was going Duo would be there as well and he'd heard of how much those two could eat by themselves, add the other speedsters and the other teens in general. "Okay 5 supermarkets worth..."
atlantis - March 21, 2005 01:23 AM (GMT)
It was almost pathetic, the way Greta seemed to light up on seeing Robin emerge from the shadows, at least, if it wasn’t so sweet. When he took the position next to her and let his fingers lace into hers the feeling was unimaginable. She read his expression and she felt the same way. She looked away though aftr giving a smile that said everything she couldn’t just then and blushed.
“Well actually, since Kon took to doing that whole ‘Panty raid’ thing for a while we got Snapper to come in and set up a security system for us inc case he started up again. Basically it electrocutes anyone who doesn’t input the correct voice code.” Cassie had a smirk that strongly resembled Will’s for a second.
Greta looked wide-eyed at her friend. “So that’s what was up with his hair all that time! I’d have thought he’d have learnt after the hundredth time or something….Like Will did after the first time” She shrugged with a little giggle. “Do you think 5 shop worth’s is over kill maybe?”
“Actually I think Bart could eat all that by himself, he often cleaned out the whole HQ back in the day.” Cassie laughed, ignoring the Will comment. “Right, the flash Museum sounds like a plan, if you like I’ll call up my friend Jessie who can pass the message along to the flash types. Robin, if you can work your magic in getting the museum shut down for the day so we can get the party ready and the like, so we need to work out what day."
“Do you think we could get that day off from impending doom?” Greta asked, knowing that there was no way that could happen."Actually wasn't Shinobi going to help us out too?”
Shinobi - March 21, 2005 03:31 AM (GMT)
"Yes. Yes he was." Said hero commented leaning against a doorframe casually. "And I believe I said it the first time I was here Robin. Your security sucks." He said standing strait now, not being able to help a slight jest with the boy wonder. "But in any case, what is it you need me to do?" The ninja said with a small yawn.
Robin - March 21, 2005 04:00 AM (GMT)
QUOTE (SECRET)
“Do you think we could get that day off from impending doom?”
"Probably not," Robin smiled. They were all thinking the same thing no doubt. Any time you got costumed heroes together, they were practically holding up a sign saying 'PLEASE ATTACK US' for super-villains.
But hey, a guy could dream...
QUOTE (SECRET)
"Actually wasn't Shinobi going to help us out too?”
QUOTE (SHINOBI)
"Yes. Yes he was. And I believe I said it the first time I was here Robin. Your security sucks."
"And as I keep telling you Shinobi, the Tower's security system has you DNA on record and allows you entrance, making it, as you are probably well aware now, suprsingly easy to get past," Robin shot back, not missing a beat and not even turning to look at the ninja. "And considering Cyborg was the ones to design the tower, if security system saw you as a threat, we wouldn't be having this conversation. You're late by the way."
Robin supressed a smirk. Shinobi tried hard and that was commendable, but Robin could give as good as he got.
He looked to the group as a whole and nodded. "We'll have the meseum set, no problem," he promised, having been looking into it prior to showing up to the Tower. All he needed was final confirmation.
"As for food, I think its all agreed that we'll need a LOT of food. If we have the Flashes and a big number of teenagers with healthy metabolisms, there probably isn't a such a think as 'over-kill'. And if we have anything left over (which is highly unlikely), we can take it to the Keystone Homeless Shelter." But I think we've still got the quesiton of paying for all that. Even my credit card has its limits."
'Well as limited as it can be without Batman killiing me for using up his bat-business only credit card with non-crime fighting charges...' he thought silently to himself.
"So, I've got the location handled, Cassie, you and Greta have the guest list, right? That leaves us buy decoration, getting the food and the cake." He looked at Harm, Supersonic, Ray and Shinobi. "Who wants what?"
Robin paused for a moment remembering Christmas two years back and all the time he spent in the bathroom. "And what ever you do, let not ask Cissie to bake the cake, okay?"
Marx - March 21, 2005 04:47 PM (GMT)
(lol! Heh heh, Cissie's cakes. Oh poor Santa)
"So that’s what was up with his hair all that time! I’d have thought he’d have learnt after the hundredth time or something...Like Will did after the first time"
It was times like these that Will was glad that He wore face paint. That way when he'd blush from time to time it wasn't visible...wait...he wasn't wearing face paint...crap... "...my sai fell into the drawer when I put it on the dresser..." Will mumbled making it almost impossible for anyone to understand his words unless they were specifically listening to him. Unfortunately Super was one of those people and began to snicker uncontrollably. "Sure thing Will, it was all the sai's fault."
Of course the speedster knew he was asking for it but how often does he get opportunities like this. "Wait! Before you kill me, you have something red on your face...oh my bad. You were just blushing." Luckily before Will would have had to be taken to jail for killing Supersonic, Shinobi showed up and took the attention off Will's...eh...shocking experience.
He didn't know a lot about the ninja, but he had helped him out a time or two and while he wouldn't admit it to Shinobi's face, the guy was good. Will could have sworn he saw something moving inside the Tower, but as Robin said, the only way someone could be in the Tower was if the computer recognized them. The security system was even updated after Lister's breaking in. Turning his attention back to the party he could see that Robin was giving out assignments.
"So, I've got the location handled, Cassie, you and Greta have the guest list, right? That leaves us buy decoration, getting the food and the cake." He looked at Harm, Supersonic, Ray and Shinobi. "Who wants what?"
"As someone whose had the displeasure of eating one of Cissie's pastries I'll take the cake." Just the mere thought of that muffin made even Will's skin crawl. But his priorities changes as suddenly Will turned to the entrance of the Tower with a scowl. "Okay, now I know I saw something..." He wasn't completely sure who, but someone was spying on them from inside the Tower, and he could have sworn he saw a fire, even if it was only for a second.
Shinobi - March 21, 2005 08:08 PM (GMT)
Shinobi nodded. "I suppose I can handle the decorations." He offered. "As well as a bit of the entertainment. I can bring in a karaoke set from my house." After that he sent a small glare around the room. "Yes. I like to do karaoke. You have any problems with that?" After that sentence he too felt something was wrong and was on his guard searching the room, and all other areas visible to him silently, although still maintaning a relaxed appearence.
Quracen - March 21, 2005 09:45 PM (GMT)
Through the shadows of the Titans Tower Robin came. Apparently he had been there for quite some time, for he was completely up to speed. According to Robin’s logic Kid Flash was already aware of what they were concocting. Some equipment had been stolen from Robin’s room has been taken. Everyone agreed that he deserved it. Robin suggested having the party at the Flash Museum, which made sense to both Ray and the rest of the crew.
After some ideas were tossed back and forth throughout the team, Shinobi appeared. The ninja came out of the shadows in the same fashion as Robin. With all the time given to the heroes the only one thing agreed upon was that they would need a good supply of food, for all the Flash types, for most of them did have abnormal metabolisms.
"So, I've got the location handled, Cassie, you and Greta have the guest list, right? That leaves us buy decoration, getting the food and the cake. Who wants what?"
“I suppose I will be able to get the food, we don’t want anyone to get an upset stomach.”
Ray saw Harm motion forth, he seemed to have seen something in the Tower.
"Okay, now I know I saw something..."
Harms eyes began to traverse the tower, Ray followed his gaze. Indeed he saw a shadow pass over the windows.
Robin - March 21, 2005 10:25 PM (GMT)
Robin he felt like someone was watching them, and he definetly took notice of Harm's body tense and his eyes narrowing at the Tower. First time, he had just ignored it, but the second time was too many times for the Boy Wonder.
"Ray, stop looking. Everyone stay still," he ordered, not wanting to tip their hands. For all he knew, Kid Flash had ditched Superboy and was now watching them hopping to figure out what they had planned. Or... He shuddered, not wanting to imaging Lister back again. His hand on Greta squeezed hers tightly.
"What do you see Harm?" Robin asked in a low voice, since Harm was the only one with a really good view of the Tower and he was the first one to react.
Marx - March 22, 2005 09:57 PM (GMT)
Will was trying not to draw too much attention to himself, but it was obvious whoever was watching them was waiting for something. He'd already begun to summon his sais which were at least halfway there, luckily he'd left them in the Tower so they didn't have far to go. "Whoever it is, is by the second floor window. I couldn't quite make out the shape, but I don't think it's Bart. Looks like they're getting into a position to atta-" Before Will could finish the sentence the window he saw the figure at, shattered followed by a long stream of flames.
"I must say. I agree with the ninja wannabe over there, the security around here is abysmal." Out of the fire the figure began to take shape. His costume was various shades of red including the little bit of visible skin he had mainly the face that you could see under the hood he was wearing. Two sharp, black spikes extended from his shoulders giving him even that much more of a creepy demonic presence. Though if you looked at what you could see of his face, it did look familiar.
Will had to stare a good bit before the familiarity caught up to him. "Awww Hell." The new figure merely gave a dark smile as he looked over the heroes assembled before him mainly stopping at Cassie and Greta. "Well I'll be damned if that wasn't an ironic choice of words. And I'm the very definition of damned if you think about it. Of course that's not really my fault now is it? Hey girls, I'm so hurt. You didn't call you didn't write. It's like you didn't care." As the figure talked, he paced around the heroes and with each step, the grass was burnt beneath his feet making small fires that were put out as soon as he made another step.
Robin - March 22, 2005 10:36 PM (GMT)
"My god," Robin said in a barely audible voice. The urge to say 'its not possible' was overwhelming, but unforunately in this world that comment had lost all meaning about... well it never really did hold any meaning, did it? But how could this be?
The costume was very different, but the face was a perfect match. The long nose, the cocky smirk, the cold eyes. But how? An assortment of possibilities raced through Tim's mind.
A. Clone.
B. Bedlam was back and he created another alternate universe copy.
C. Another time travel version.
D. All of the above.
Tim paused to look at Harm, who looked just as shocked as him, but he still seemed know what was going on. The Boy Wonder supressed a groan. Why couldn't they submit these things into the database like he asked?!
"Get away from them," Robin growled, taking a protective step besides the girls. His eyes were narrowed and although his body looked relax there was the undertone of someone ready to attack.
It was possible this wouldn't turn into a fight... What the hell was he talking about? With their luck it ALWAYS turns into a fight.
After Vicious had attacked the YJ HQ and the Tower, Cyborg had upped the security even more so. That mean this guy had been able to hack the system (which seemed unlikely) or he had enough power to get past the best Themysciran, Kryptonian, and S.T.A.R. Labs tech.
"What do you want?" Robin demanded.
Shinobi - March 23, 2005 01:44 AM (GMT)
Shinobi glared at the intruder at the 'ninja wannabe' remark, but didnt attack. He was searching him for any sort of vulnerability, but mostly, he didnt have a plan to get around any powers he might have. And judging from the scorching it had to do with fire, so at this point he simply waited for his opprotunity, his hand sliding behind his back and cloak slowly drawing his Kodachi however.
Marx - March 24, 2005 04:01 PM (GMT)
"What do I want? Oh so many things." As the figure continued to monologue, he paced carefully around the heroes, seeming to take particular attention to Cassie, Greta and Will. "To be alive again...maybe have a wife, a few kids...a little 3 headed puppy, but then again...you probably mean why I'm here don't you? Well that's simple really..." His eyes immediatly narrowed as a stream of flames shot up from the ground twisting and forking as they aimed at each of the heroes there. "...revenge."
Will was able to dodge the flames in time to catch his sais, but not in time to stop the figure from slamming into him and holding Will against the Tower wall by his neck. It happened too fast for even Supersonic who was dodging his own flames to stop. A gargled yell of protest escaped Will's lips as he tried to pry the hands from around his neck, the sounds of his skin sizzling at the figures touch blended in with the protest. "You know...when I think about it, it must really suck to be you. You lose your powers, I attack you. You go through all of this crap to save your girlfriend, sending me to Hell, and all you did was make me stronger. Ever wonder what happens to warders who inadvertently cross the realm of death?"
"No...and I really...don't care!" Will was finally able to get out before he hit the figure with one of his sais finally freeing himself temporarily. Doing his best to breath in without coughing, Will flipped out of the way to join the others, instinctively putting his hand over his neck which was pretty badly burned now. Obviously pure hand to hand wasn't going to work in this fight. Giving a quick glance, he saw that no one was seriously hurt and turned his attention back on his assailant. "You should care. After all, if I'm going to kill you in this form, you should at least have the pleasure of knowing how I got this way. I'm not the embodiement of Death anymore thanks to you, my power source comes from someplace...much more specific...as a matter of fact, you can call me Hellfire...it's much more fitting than Secret, now. But even as powerful as I am now...I could be so much more...which is where you come in." Hellfire's red and black eyes trailed over various members of the heroes before stopping on Robin.
"You guys on the other hand are expendable." Once more, streams of fire shot out of Hellfire's hands, but this time the flames were directed purely at Will, Robin, and Shinobi and the streams were a lot bigger. "I can't have my weaker self dying alone now can I? Go to...well...you know where."
Robin - March 24, 2005 06:16 PM (GMT)
Robin was able to side-step Hellfire's first attack, realizing to late that it was merely a diversionary tactic to get at Harm. Instinctively had was now positioned in a wide spread fighting stance with one hand clutching his cape for protection. The cape had multi-layers to it, several of which were designed to be fire retardant.
Yet before Robin could call 'Titans Together' in order to help their teammate; Harm was able to escape the villain's clutches a moment later and rejoin the group as Hellfire turned to the assembly.
"No one is dying today. TITANS GO!" Robin ordered, as he fired a D-Cell line to the Tower that lifted him off the ground.
As he he did so, he had reached into his utility belt and pulled a handful of small pink marbels which he flung at Hellfire. Upon impacts the marbles exploded into what looked like a mass of pink bubble gum. The tangler pellets were designed to 'goo-up' opponents and weapons, and was made to be fire resistant.
Jonny Warlock had learned the hardway of what they could do when Robin had thrown on on his gun and then he blew off his hand.
"Long distant attacks! Don't touch him flesh on flesh!" Robin shouted. He had seen what Hellfire had done to Harm and wasn't anxious for the rest of them to follow suit. Cutting his line he dropped down while at the same time extending his bo-staff. "Supersonic, put him in a whirlwind! Harm and Shinobi get ready for a double attack!"
Shinobi - March 29, 2005 12:52 AM (GMT)
Shinobi put up a decent job of evading the flames around him as Robin managed to...restrain...Hellfire.
'long distance.' He thought to himself reaching inside his gi and removing several Kunai, he waited for Supersonic to do as Robin instructed and for the opening afterwards to attack Hellfire himself.
Quracen - March 31, 2005 12:15 AM (GMT)
"Ray, stop looking. Everyone stay still,"
Ray averted his gaze as per Robin’s request; however, it was ultimately all for naught. For soon a high pitched shattering sound echoed throughout area surrounding the Tower. Ray’s aversion was cut short as his gaze was brought back to the window, which once portrayed the image of the shadow. In its place was a long stream of flames, the streams traveling the air currents until they found themselves before the team. From the fires leapt a figure with an array of reds making up his uniform.
"I must say. I agree with the ninja wannabe over there, the security around here is abysmal."
The being spoke with an air of familiarity, had he come in contact with any of these heroes before, or was it simply Ray’s mind wandering. But yet, no, he was correct for Will spoke back with a grand assortment of emotions, of which were loathing, astonishment and familiarity. The two super-powered beings began to play a game of cards, each playing the hand they were dealt, each playing their trump card only when necessary. When both hands were dealt, including a couple cards from others present, the attacks began.
The villains name was Hellfire, and from the grounds came streams of fire aimed at every hero present. The flames leapt at Ray with an intense rage, but Ray was able to soar into the air in time to evade the brunt of the attack, however, the fringes of his costume did get a bit singed.
Soon later Hellfire let out another attack; however, this one was a tad more isolated, for it was directed merely at Robin, Shinobi, and Will. Ray began to descend to the ground so as to help one of the heroes below, yet he heard Robin’s plan and did not wish to disrupt anything. But perhaps he could help in another fashion.
Ray took in a bit of sun and then shot a powerful blast of light at Hellfre, hoping to distract him for a second or two.
Marx - April 1, 2005 01:54 AM (GMT)
"Supersonic, put him in a whirlwind! Harm and Shinobi get ready for a double attack!"
With a nod Super set out to accomplish what he'd been told. He was immune to fire anyway. Circling Hellfire, the speedster went as fast as he could. But even then he could tell something was off, he could feel the flames even as fast as he was going. Something definitely wasn't right, but at least the winds Super was whipping up were moving the flames away from him.
"Heh heh, I think I found a guinee pig" Hellfire's voice was barely heard over sounds of the tornado Super had made. It couldn't be seen from outside what was happening in the wind but it suddenly turned into a tornado of fire. All that could be heard now was Super's scream which continued even after he came flying out of the vortex inside of a ball of flame.
"Oh f$#&!" Will cursed as he saw that the plan was quickly falling apart. Part of him wanted to try to get Super out of the fireball and another wanted to fight Hellfire so he wouldn't be able to do that again. He quickly made the decision, he wouldn't be able to even get to Super without him and Shinobi going through they're part of the plan. Good or not, Super had distracted Hellfire at the moment and one of the other heroes could help out the speedster.
Hoping that Hellfire had no energy absorbing powers, Will pumped a sizeable aura around one of his sais and sent it like a bullet towards Hellfire. Meanwhile inside the fireball it turned out that the reason behind Super's continuous scream wasn't purely because of the fire.
Inside the ball, it proved that the fire could do more than burn. It could project fears into it's captive. Super couldn't do anything but watch. No matter how hard he tried to force himself to stop it was useless. Before him, he could see Duo badly beaten. But Vicious wouldn't stop his onslaught, but that alone wasn't what scared him so badly. Super was forced to watch the beating through Lister's eyes, he was that sadistic s.o.b. He didn't to hurt her anymore, she was his best friend, but he couldn't stop it. And worst yet, Duo was only the last one. Everyone Super'd come to know, Greta, Cassie, Will, Robin, Ray, even Wraith, all of they're bloody courpses laid around the floor. "No more! Please!" But Super's screams seemed to fall on deaf ears as the beating continued.
Robin - April 1, 2005 06:03 AM (GMT)
'SUPERSONIC!" Robin cried out to his ally. This had the making of the Vicious incident all over again, but he refusedto have the same outcome. But they needed to act fast.
Supersonic was invulnerable to fire, but from the screams they heard, this wasn't anything he had ever faced before. The fireball that had engulfed him hadn't disapated yet, and that meant a mistical flame thats wasn't meant to simply kill the speedster.
Robin's mind raced with thoughts and questions on how to help Super, but they couldn't turn their attention from Hellfire either. Harm had taken the right idea and continued the attack.
"Ray and Wonder Girl! Give Harm and Shinobi arial cover! Remember dont' touch him and keep away from his fire! Try to get him into the San Francisco Bay!" He had a feeling that simple water wasn't going to stop Hellfire, but it might slow him down nonetheless.
"Secret! You're with me!" As Robin barked orders, he was racing to Supersonic's side in hopes to help the speedster. He reached into his utility belt and pulled out a set of pellets that were designed to extinguish fires whether chemical, natural or other. The only question was if they would have any effect on this kind of fire.
"Secret, see if you can get your smoke powers to extinguish the flames and if that doesn't work, smoke-jump Marx out!" The conitnued screams from Supersonic, felt like a massive strike to his gut, but he tried to tune it out. His face was serious and caculating, as it always was. He couldn't afford to be anything else. With his eyes narrowed, his lips tightened into a thin line, he hurled his anti-fire pellets at the fireball, in futile hope.
Shinobi - April 1, 2005 06:25 AM (GMT)
Shinobi watched as Supersonic was hurled from the flaming tornado and fleetingly thought the worst for him but he didnt have time to do much more than worry as he heard Robin yell his orders and saw Harm attack Hellfire. Shinobi himself quickly followed suit with a short volley of kunai flung at various points on his enemies body before leaping away into a roll.
'Keep moving.' He thought to himself. 'Dont let him draw a bead.' The moment he was up he threw more at him and was reaching into his gi as he darted away again, this time pulling out his Kusari Fundo and sending the weighted part directly for Hellfire's face.
'Let it hit...' Was all he thought

Cassie and Greta managed to shake themselves out of the silence that had overcome them. It was unbelievable! Did no one ever die in this universe? It was like they just kept fighting the same people over and over just with diffrent weapons or special upgrades.
The last Wonder Girl had seen of him had been the day after the 'incident', just before Will had gone off on his training mission. 'Creepy alternate reality Secret' had been sucked into hell, well, dragged, because of Harm using his links to powers he'd given up on.
You go through all of this crap to save your girlfriend Cassie blinked back tears, this was all....beacause of her. If she hadn't become involved with Will he wouldn't have thought hiself good enough, that the evil inside him was what ruled him. He would never have stabbed himself, never left himself weak and powerless and open to attack. But then it would be Harm in front of them right now, with the Titans ready to take him down rather then fight to thte death for him.
Joining Ray in the sky Cassie felt at a loss, looking desprately at Will as he swore. What was she supost to do, if she couldn't touch him...then what could she do??
*****
Ever wonder what happens to warders who inadvertently cross the realm of death?" Greta looked away, "All to much some times"she said under her breath while she received orders from Robin.
Nodding to her boyfriend, showing she understood, she misted up and tried to enter the burning ball that held Marx. she could see that his eyes were closed though he was moving around frantically, muttering to himself.
"Marx?? i'm...i'm gonna help ok?" she pushed against the heat, allowing herself to drift through to where he was, the flames unable to hurt her.
Before she could wrap her smoke around him she was suddenly ejected from the ball, landing hard on the grass. her head span for a moment so she didn't see that the ball had actually split, half was still surounding Marx, and the other was slowly gulfing her.
It was like she was drowning in flame almost, her hand was out streached, reaching for Tim for a moment. then it was like she had died, she fell linp and liffeless in the bubble, though small jerks of her limbs and the flickers of her eyelids told different.
Inside her head she could see the nightmares of her past, her death, Robin leaving YJ, her first day in holding, being taken to the Wabe, Doug Side, minipulated by her mom... the list went on...
Quracen - April 3, 2005 03:12 AM (GMT)
"Ray and Wonder Girl! Give Harm and Shinobi arial cover! Remember dont' touch him and keep away from his fire! Try to get him into the San Francisco Bay!"
Ray, already in the air, looked about him. He saw an absence of two fighters, both of them within the fireballs their screams were prominent. Clearly it was a fine idea to stay away from any fire created by this Hellfire.
Ray flew about, surveying the enemy for a little while; he could see no definite weakness, no visible Achilles heel. Beside him he saw Wonder Girl, a desperate look mirrored on her face. Ray frantically ran through his mind on what he could do to set her mind at ease, but not a thing came to mind, after all the two were not very close. All he was able to do was carry out his orders, and wish for the best.
Ray saw that they weren’t very far from the water and hoped they would be able to douse Hellfire. All Ray could do, currently, was attack with full force. Ray brought about his hands and set them side-by-side. Through his body he sent a massive jolt of light. He stopped the force at the tip of his fingers, allowing it to collect for a second or two. After the allotted time Ray released the blast, sending it hurtling towards the enemy. Before Ray could see if the attack were successful or not, he sent down, through each individual finger, a laser-like blast. The attack was not meant to hit Hellfire; on the contrary, he aimed for the ground about Hellfire, hoping to take away Hellfire’s sight.
Marx - April 6, 2005 04:04 PM (GMT)
Hellfire smiled as he saw Secret touch the fireball. She might have been a warder but as he himself found out, even warders weren't immune to the effects of Hell. Soon she was also consumed by the fireball, despite Robin's attempts to put out the flames. "That's two down. Turning back at Harm and Shinobi, Hellfire caught the sai before it hit him. "That's a nice little trick you have there Harm. You probably think you're all powerful now with these nice flashy weapons and magic auras, but in truth..." Hellfire squeezed the sai and it immediately began to melt, the aura slowly dissipating until there was no sign it was there, same with Shinobi's kunai. "You're still the same pathetic human I almost beat to a pulp last time. Lets see how you do without these little toys."
A fire blast came out of Hellfire's eyes setting Harm's remaining sai on fire and melting it as well. Harm tried his best to hide his panic. But whether he'd like to admit it or not, Hellfire was right. He could only focus the little white magics he knew through those weapons, without them...he was just a normal human, of all times for that old lady to be right! Hellfire was soon distracted from Harm's growing desperations as Shinobi's Kusari Fundo was aimed at his head. Swiftly shifting his head the weighted part ended up wrapping around Hellfire's neck, seemingly making the situation worst for him. But there was that familiar sinister smirk on his face. "I already have two, lets see if I can go for three." With a quick blow to the chain, a fast trail of fire was sent down it to the ninja, once more going for another Hell sphere if it connected.
A bright light then caught the villain's eye as he saw an energy beam coming at him as well as a series of blast hitting the ground covering the air with the smoke and dirt left from the blasts. Through the smoke it was hard to see where Hellfire was, and that was for a good reason, he wasn't there. A seemingly random series of flames appeared behind Ray and it became obvious that Hellfire's new powers didn't negate his 'smoke-jumping' ability, it just made it 'fire-jumping' instead. Not knowing if The Ray saw him yet he sent a stream of flames that began to circle the light user. It soon became evident that the circling fires were another Hell shere in the process. He gave a slight smile to Wonder Girl as he continued making the sphere almost a way of saying 'You're next.'
Robin - April 6, 2005 04:40 PM (GMT)
"GRETA!" Robin cried out, as he saw Greta get thrown back from the sphere of fire that surrounded Supersonic. He watched in horror as the flames had extended from Supersonic and began to immerse Secret as well. He lunged out for her extended hand, and his fingertip graced hers before the fire over took her. He also screamed as he momentarily felt the heat from the flames draw closer, and momentary flashes flesh through his mind. His father, Spoiler...
Robin fell back, and stared horrified as Greta was completely overtaken in the ball. "Greta..." he whispered, before his eyes shot up at Hellfire who was using his powers now on Ray. Robin had no time to save him, not from his position down here. He looked over at Wonder Girl and it finally click. Hellfire wasn't going after all the Titans, but rather the ones with Super-powers. The others, Shinobi, himself and even Harm, were 'expendable.'
"WONDER GIRL RETREAT! GET AS FAR AWAY FROM HERE AS YOU CAN!" he shouted. He then snapped out a batarang and threw it at Hellfire. It was a crygenic batarang, made to cover whatever it came in contact with in ice, once activated. He could only hope this would distract Hellfire enough to get Cassie away from her.
After all... What else could he do?
Shinobi - April 10, 2005 07:01 PM (GMT)
Shinobi quickly dropped his hold on the chain and hopped back. "So you have flashy powers." The ninja commented. "And yet the dead weight over here is still alive." He was obviously indicating himself. "And yet, i bet that if we went at it bodies alone i'd beat you in five minutes."
'well...go for the ego...' was all he thought waiting for Hellfire's next move. 'Okay, if he does take me up on it i have to minimize contact time.'
Marx - April 12, 2005 03:04 AM (GMT)
(Quracen's post)
Ray hoped he had been successful, his relentless asault on Hellfire finally over. All his eyes could focus on was the some gradually rising from the earth, and then suddenly dissipating into the atmoshpere. Ray dropped his arms to his sides, waiting for any inkling, any hint of Hellfire's next attack. Nothing made itself visible.
About the light warrior the temperature rose, it was as if the sun grew in strength in seconds, which was unheard of. Little droplets of sweat began to form about his black skin, his uniform began to stick to him. It was an unexplainable heat, but Ray brushed it aside. Ray simply focused, and the heat was the last thing on his mind. A strong feeling suddenly overcame Ray and he turned his gaze. The fires began to envelop him, all that was visisble now was a terrifying crimson, and yet the head was nothing compared to what thuis fire should have radiated.
He simply stood there in a room of fire. An unspeakable fear overcame Ray. Nothing showed itself apparent to him, nothing horrid enough to create screams as Supersonic's. Ray smirked... perhaps Hellfire had messed up, or something had gone awry... And yet, no, his luck ran out as soon as a blinding light shot out through the firey realm. Ray now lay strewn across the floor, his skin now taking on a pale overtone, his uniform gone replaced by his civilian clothes. It felt as if many weights threw themselves upon his back, his entire body felt heavy. He could hardly lift his arm, and yet he still tried. he look up his gaze meeting the sun, a powerful sphere radiating a grand amount of light. Ray's skin began to tingle, and soon it burned, hives forming.
Raymond crawled along the floor, his whole body on fire, trying to find any and all shade or shadow. None was found. How could this be possible he was once again Photosensitive, could this Hellfire delve into the human body and make with it what he wished? No... That simply did not fit, but Raymond could not form many more assumptions, the pain was far too intense. His skin began to boil, turning a blood red and still he could find no darkness. How ironic, as Ray in his own world he would flee from the darkness, light as fine as this would be his haven. But now he ran from it frantically trying to find the darkness, but to no avail. This poisonous light was destroying him surely his body would soon break down, it was hard enough carrying himself across this ground, how could he carry on like this. His palms were blackened, no his powers still deserted him, this poison was far too strong.
He then stopped, his minimal strength gone. He pulled over his head his shirt trying to give himself confort. And yet, still, with this minor cover he still broke down and cried, tears quickly pooling on the ground and evaporating.
atlantis - April 23, 2005 05:06 PM (GMT)
It was weird, like being underwater even though she was surrounded by fire. She could see Tim's momentary panic but it barely regestered. She was too busy seeing the images infront of her eyes. Reliving her death over and over, the DEO scientists telling her exactly what an experiment would do to her if it went wrong and alone, so alone.
It occured to her, possibly inforced by the mind-altering sphear, that Robin was worrying more about Wonder Girl than he was about her but she knew him. She knew deep in her heart that Tim always did what was best for the team, that if he could help her he would. Also there was a look on his face, just for a second before he started to yell orders at Cassie, it was a look of unimaginable pain.
**********************************************
"WONDER GIRL RETREAT! GET AS FAR AWAY FROM HERE AS YOU CAN!"
Cassie was torn between following Robin's orders and helping Will. She usually followed Tim's lead without question, with the exception of appokolips of course, she tried to help him, giving ideas and such, She tended to respect him, which is why she'd never challenged him over the leadership role after Young Justice divided. But Will needed her, his weapons were gone and his aura only extened to them. Without them it was like he was human once more.
She took a moment to think about it, putting some distance between herself and the fight while trying to chose to listen to either her head or her heart. Logic was screaming at her to run away, Robin would be there but what if he couldn't help? This seemed to be all focused on super powers, it seemed that being trained by the worlds greatest detective had yet another perk. she should really stay away, she was basically about to rush into a trap. But it was all drowned out as she flew in to help her boyfriend.
Ray was down, Wonder Girl wasn't totally sure why but he looked pretty out of it, Hellfire was taunting like all villans do. She could see him laughing, it was all her fault, Will had given up his powers for her, to protect her from himself it seemed. But all that it had caused was pain for the two of them. She took this open oppertunity to use her lasso, shocking the demonic psycho with all she had and then stiking blows till her knuckles bled.
Marx - April 23, 2005 08:05 PM (GMT)
"WONDER GIRL RETREAT! GET AS FAR AWAY FROM HERE AS YOU CAN!"
Hellfire merely laughed at the warning. Like she'd be able to get away from him anyway. The laughter was momentarily cut short as he saw a batarang headed his way. He simply rolled his eyes. "You guys really don't learn do you?" Hellfire then sent a flame to intercept and melt the batarang only to have the fire itself all the way to him suddenly freeze, causing him to be frozen solid. Like an ice sculpture, he fell to the ground and shattered seemingly ending the battle. "Heh, nice try. That probably would have killed me if, you know. I wasn't already dead." A voice seemed to come out of nowhere before Hellfire flame-jumped back into his previous position.
"You have to realize by now this is pointless? I AM HELL! HELL IS ME! You're fighting a losing battle until...well...Hell freezes over, so I hope you have a hell of a lot more of those things!" Once more he was cut short as a lasso wrapped around him and he suddenly got shocked with lightning. The shock radiated through his body, causing him for the first time since the fight started to actually look like he was in pain. That was definitely not natural lightning. And as soon as it stopped he felt the blows as they came across him. But it wasn't enough. Soon he dodged one of the blows and grabbed Wonder Girl by the waist bringing her close to him, sizzling parts of her costume. "Well aren't you a feisty little thing. Doing all of this to save your boyfriend. Hate to break it to you but he's already dead, he just doesn't know it yet....Just like you..." As Hellfire finished that sentence a sinister smile came across his face as he got even closer to her and blew a stream of fire out of him mouth finishing his mission by getting the last metahuman into a Hell Sphere.
Laughing, Hellfire looked back at Robin. "I was originally going to do that with a kiss but I didn't want to burn those lips of hers...yet anyway." This was too much. Harm didn't care if he was helpless now. He didn't go through all of that hell of training with that young/old lady just to crumble as soon as he came against the same villain who originally caused him to need the training in the first place. Jumping into the air, Harm rebounded off the window of the Tower to try and sucker punch the villain. Harm didn't even feel the burns on his neck or his hand from the burnt sai, he just didn't want to have his girlfriend suffer again because of his weakness. But sometimes all the determination in the world, just isn't enough alone.
Hellfire grabbed Harm's arm without the burned hand instantly causing a matching burn now on both sides and sent a flame out of his eyes and onto Harm's chest sending him careening to the ground.
"So you have flashy powers." The ninja commented. "And yet the dead weight over here is still alive." He was obviously indicating himself. "And yet, i bet that if we went at it bodies alone i'd beat you in five minutes."
Hellfire turned away from Harm, causing the flames on his chest to go out as his attention diverted. That ninja probably really thought he could take him in five minutes, it would have been so easy for him to go down there, but then he looked around to the various Hell Spheres. Despite his amusement he had to remember these humans were just the annoyances. "Heh. I'm so going to take you up on that. But you know what they say. Business before pleasure." With that and a maniacal laugh, Hellfire and the Hell Spheres along with their captives disappeared leaving the remaining heroes frustrated and injured.
Robin - April 23, 2005 09:47 PM (GMT)
Robin watched as the ice-batarang connected with Hellfire and apparently cover the creature in ice. For a brief moment, Robin had hoped that the attack had enough effect to stop the alternate-reality version of Harm, but he knew it couldn't be that easy.
And of course...
"Heh, nice try. That probably would have killed me if, you know. I wasn't already dead." A voice seemed to come out of nowhere before Hellfire flame-jumped back into his previous position. "You have to realize by now this is pointless? I AM HELL! HELL IS ME! You're fighting a losing battle until...well...Hell freezes over, so I hope you have a hell of a lot more of those things!"
The expression that Robin returned to Hellfire was one of someone who wasn't impressed. Deep down he was worried to no end. Over half the people here were captive and nearly all their attacks were useless. But Robin didn't know the meaning of 'giving up.' Hellfire was tough, but powers or not, he was nothing more than a second rate Darksied wannabe.
The ice had momentarily held Hellfire back, but the fact was his ice-batarang just didn't have enough power behind it. He wanted Hellfrozen over. Then that's just what they would do.
Of course, Robin hadn't anticipated his second-in-command undermining and ignoring his orders. "WONDER GIRL?!" He yelled. "NO! GET AWAY-!" But it was of course too late as the next thing she knew she was covered in another hellsphere.
"I was originally going to do that with a kiss but I didn't want to burn those lips of hers...yet anyway."
Robin's face was contorted into a horrific scowl that would have made Batman proud. It didn't look angry, but it did look like someone who had just been pushed to a very dangerous point. Hellfire had chosen a very bad point in Robin's life to attack his friends and girlfriend.
In a fit of hot-headedness, Harm had re-joined the scene while attempted to attack Hellfire, only to get a series of third degree burns. Robin understood that Harm was furious about his girlfriend getting hurt and captured. Tim could relate. But Wonder Girl had been the prime example of why they couldn't attack without a plan.
Racing to Harm's side, Robin rolled Will over onto his back, examing the extensive wounds. He was hurt, but he'd live.
Despite Shinobi's best attempt at goading the villain, Robin knew it was pointless. Shinobi always thought he could handle anything by convincing someone to fight one on one. How many times had he actually expected that approach to work? Shinobi was a good fighter, but not enough. Especially not against villains who's whole career statement has 'cronic-liar' listed.
Robin quickly brought his index and pinky fingers to his lips and let out a loud whistle. Immediately after, a small purple, gold and white vehicle appeared in the distance. The Super-Cycle.
It had weapons primed, and thanks to the instinctive connection that Robin and the cycle had, it had an idea of the situtation. But unfortunately, as fast as the Cycle could fly, it wasn't fast enough.
"Heh. I'm so going to take you up on that. But you know what they say. Business before pleasure."
And just as the Cycle began to open fire, Hellfire let out an insane laugh and vanished with his captive. Its lazers, freeze-rays, molecular disruptors alls passed through the after-image of their foe, unable to hit a mark. Just as Secret's Hellsphere began to fade Robin was able to catch Secret's eyes, his own wide opaque lenses filled with fear and love looking into her's that were unbriddled fear.
Immediately after Hellfire had left, Robin stood silence, his body was tensed and his face in a dark scowl. They had failed. But it wasn't over.
"Shinobi, get Harm to the med-lab," he ordered. "I'll be in the war room."
Shinobi - April 24, 2005 01:40 AM (GMT)
Shinobi gave Robin a nodd taking over with helping Harm stay up and getting him to the medlab drawing from his memory of the breif time he was on the team finally getting him there, he set Harm onto a bed.
Marx - April 24, 2005 08:38 PM (GMT)
The last thing Harm saw before he blacked out was the fire. As he felt himself waking up he didn't need anyone to tell him what happened, it was obvious by the pain from his burns as well as how quiet the Tower was. Hellfire took the others, leaving the supposed "dead weight". This was becoming an annoying trend, with a psycho coming out of nowhere and almost dismantling the heroes. It wasn't so much that, but the frustration was, there was more he could do, and he knew it.
Sitting up, Harm ignored the pain of the burns. Despite his oddly calm face if you looked in his eyes you could tell he was furious. This was made even more obvious as he punched a dent in the table. "...Thank you, Shinobi. I'm fine." Which was of course a lie but he was as close to fine as he could be in the situation. Giving Shinobi a nod, Will wrapped his wounds in bandages and made his way to the war room.
"This...is really beginning to annoy me."
Robin - April 24, 2005 09:36 PM (GMT)
Inside the War Room, Robin was hunched over the computer console, his nimble fingers racing over the keyboards. On the main screen before him was a digital world map, while on the multiple-sub screens there were avatar images of Wonder Girl, Ray, Secret and Supersonic.
Although most of the others weren't really aware of it, Robin had sewn tracking devises into each Titans and YJ member's costume, especially after what had happened with Vicious. He did like having tabs on his friends like that, but it was necessary. Too many times they had been attacked, kidnapped and so on. He needed to know where they were somehow.
Unfortunately, he couldn't pick up anything yet. The trackers were not showing up on the screen. That could mean a number of things. Hellfire and his captive hadn't re-appeared yet from their Flame-Jump, they weren't on Earth, or they were destroyed. Robin didn't even want to consider that last possibility.
"Computer, show me T-Tower Camera, Deco-485, Section G, Time period 2:35 PM." he said in a gravely voice that nearly sounded like Batman. One of the screens before him altered, showing a scene from a few moments prior. Hellfire had just knocked down Harm, and he was smirking evily at the Titans. "Image freeze. Zoom-in."
The computer complied and a close up of Hellfire was shown. It was Willaim Hayes. Or at least the Willaim Hayes that could have been.
"Where did you come from...?" he asked quietly to the image. Alternate Reality versions of them was common place, but how did this one come about? It wasn't Bedlam, since Matthew was now powerless and living his with grandparents in Dallas Texas. But looking at that image of Hellfire, Robin recognized that the costume he was was very similar to the Secret/Harm costume from when Bedlam had earsed Kid Flash, Superboy and himself from the world, leaving an odd version of Young Justice in their place. But again, Bedlam wasn't behind this.
No, the key to all this was Harm. Hellfire had addressed Harm in a familar manner and blamed him. But unfortunatly, Robin had nothing to go off of. Harm hadn't entered any reports into in the YJ Database about alternate versions of himself.
Robin heard the doors to the War Room open, but he didn't need to look to know who it was.
"You should be in the Med-Lab Harm," he said in a flat and emotionless tone.
Shinobi - April 25, 2005 01:08 AM (GMT)
QUOTE (Marx @ Apr 24 2005, 02:38 PM)
"...Thank you, Shinobi. I'm fine." Which was of course a lie but he was as close to fine as he could be in the situation. Giving Shinobi a nod, Will wrapped his wounds in bandages and made his way to the war room.
Shinobi looked him over, able to tell as well as anyone that he wasnt fine, but kept his silence. He waited long enough for Harm to start making his way to the war room and then followed him.
He stood behind Harm as Robin told him he should still be in Med-lab.
"Would you stay in this situation?" Shinobi asked in a small retort then settled back into the situation. "So, what do we do from here?"
Robin - April 25, 2005 01:22 AM (GMT)
"I wasn't talking to you, was I?" Robin said in a edgy, yet dismissive voice to Shinobi. It didn't matter what HE would have done in this situation. The fact was, they were dealing with a superior power and couldn't afford anyone being at less than 100%.
He still didn't turn to look at Harm or Shinobi, but instead his fingers continued to dance across the console before him. "I'm not picking up the other's tracking devises yet, which could mean any number of things. I assume I don't need to explain them."
He finally raised his hands off the keyboard and sat back in his chair stiffly. "The fact is, we've got more questions than answers. And so far only one person can rectify that, is you Will." He turned his chair around and looked at Harm with a calm but very serious expression. "What do you know about Hellfire?"
Marx - April 25, 2005 03:31 AM (GMT)
Harm didn't say a word as he entered the war room and sat down. He knew that logically he should have stayed in the Med-Lab. But Harm wasn't especially known for doing the most logical things at times especially when he was stressed. He made no eye contact to either Robin or Shinobi, he simply stared into the middle of the table, his face oddly calm.
"What do you know about Hellfire?"
"Believe it or not I have about as many questions as you do at the moment. But I'll tell you what I know. A couple of months ago Greta was attacked by the same version of me that existed when Bedlam messed around with our origins. How he ended up in this dimension is anybody's guess but he's the one who exposed her to the Abyss eventually reactivating her powers in the first place. But after we defeated him I didn't see him for awhile until I lost...until I gave up my powers.
Since we're technically the same person he apparently sensed it and attacked me and Cassie, who'd also had her powers taken away by her mom, I don't think I need to go into the specifics of that. But long story short, even now I still know the black magic spells, I just don't use them or there was really no point in getting rid of the demonic connections in the first place. The reason I had the white mage train me was because I defeated that Secret only by opening up a crack to Hell and letting him get dragged into it. A desperate choice that came back to bite me later it seems."
At this point Harm took a slight pause and reached around his neck unhooking the "Wonder Girl" necklace that he hadn't taken off since Cassie put it on him after Lister's attack. His eyes finally went off the middle of the table and onto the necklace. "And it seems like I'm going to have to make another one of those choices." Harm had a look of determination on his face as he stared at the necklace, it was a look that let you know that he was about to do something very courageous, or something very stupid. It's funny how close those two come at times.
Shinobi - April 25, 2005 10:34 AM (GMT)
Shinobi glared at Robin's comment never mind the fact that he's been on the receiving end of far more intimidating stares, that...and the factt hat Robin wasnt even looking at him.
However he then redirected his attention to Harm's explanation about Hellfire. "And just what desperate choice would this be?" He asked.
Robin - April 25, 2005 01:37 PM (GMT)
"Isn't it obvious Shinobi?" Robin asked retorically, his eyes narrowed and never once wavering off of Harm. "Harm is considering re-establishing his links with his demonic connection. He wants to use the black magicks to stop Hellfire."
Unlike Batman, Robin didn't exactly hate magic. Of course, Tim had never had magic used against him by people he had considered friends and allies. But the fact was, Robin understood its need and purpose. That didn't mean he necessarily trusted magic. Especially the dark arts. They were uncontrollable and addictive. The fact that Harm had quit using those powers once, was in itself a miracle. Attempting it a second time would be unlikely at most.
"Harm you can't actually see that as an option," Robin said. "You turned your back on those powers a long while ago. Do you really think the demons are going to welcome you back without wanting something more than you alligence? You turned against them once. They're going to want incentive if you try to return to them. We can find a better way to stop Hellfire and save the others."
Marx - April 25, 2005 02:29 PM (GMT)
Harm realized the slight tension between Robin and Shinobi, but he chose not to acknowledge it. He simply continued focusing all of his attention on the necklace, like it held all the answers, and in a way, it did. "Of course there's another way. There's always another way. But what then? We stop Hellfire then another stupidly powerful psycho comes after us. Hell, even Lister's still out there somewhere. I'm sick of knowing there's more I can do to help and not being able to do it.
To be honest, I'll be lucky if they give me my powers back at all. There's much more of a chance, they'll torture and then kill me the minute they see my face. I haven't exactly made friends down there since I switched sides. But if I can get to the right demons there's a chance, or better yet if I can find the daggers I originally took my abilities away with. I honestly don't care..."
Finally Harm looked up from his concentration on the necklace and looked at Shinobi, "I don't have any family.." and then to Robin, "Or any mentors or surrogate brothers.. Greta and Cassie are all I have. I'm sure you two can understand that..."
