Title: A Ray of Hope

Quracen - March 21, 2005 08:12 PM (GMT)
Above the city of Philadelphia the sun flew, about it shown an aura portraying its powerful luminescence. From below, however, the beautiful sky was nonexistent, the lofty structures overpowering the firmament. Upon the busy streets of the city, the children of the sun played, light and shadow danced amongst each other. The shadows shifted back and forth, never stopping, allowing little or no visibility to any typical spectator. This conurbation wasn’t one of the same brutalities as Gotham, Batman’s domain, or Bludhaven, Nightwing’s realm; however, through the pursuing years it found many predators. Fortunately this city found its protection from the solar-powered hero, The Ray (of the second generation). Fatefully the city was torn in the dead of night.

Upon the streets of the Pennsylvanian city, Raymond Terrill strode, with his girlfriend, Jennifer Jurden, by his side. It had been quite some time before they could go on a date, what with his new team, the Young Justice, and the random criminal taking priority. Yet today the two set aside a day to be together, Jennifer doing so with much greater ease, and they were determined to keep it that way!

They simply walked down some nameless street, Jennifer laying her head on her lovers shoulder. They did not believe, in the truest sense, that they would be able to have this day to themselves, and so they wished to enjoy every second. They brought themselves, to an outdoor Café, seating themselves at a corner table. Raymond brought about his hand, placing it before the sun, collecting sunlight. Jennifer laced her fingers through Raymond’s, giving each of them a warming feeling. Time froze for a second or so; the silence broke when a solid block of yellow-white material cut through the wall of a near-by building.

A silent agreement was reached; the two knew that in this city, with the absence of one major group, he would surely have to go. Jennifer got out of her chair, her muscles tensing, she knew that one more time he would throw himself into the fray, if only she could accompany him. Two feet away from him she smiled, her eyes glistening in the bright light, her hair catching all of the rays. It was a quiet moment, Raymond stood up and embraced Jennifer, after a minute or so he kissed her…

Their moment together was over; he knew he would have to leave her alone for a while, as it always was. Raymond ran as fast as he could before finding a quiet spot behind a building, not a soul in sight. He then let the light take control. Through his body, he felt a rush of energy; all of the light harbored within him was expelled, every bit reaching the fringes of his body, be they physical or spiritual. In seconds his body was of the color the light enjoyed, his skin was now entirely black; his uniform was now upon him. He was now The Ray.

In the air, Ray flew, a golden trail following him. He saw the destruction of the perpetrator all about him, the rubble strewn across the once clean streets. Finally he saw the enemy it was Dr. Light, the old man who now lived by his namesake

The two, predator and prey, were both true warriors of light, the trophy was up for grabs.

Dr. Light motioned forth, from his hands leapt a tangible light, everything before it was destroyed. A maniacal laugh was portrayed on the face of Arthur, he knew they would come soon; the Titans would soon be destroyed. His white uniform shown in the light, hiding within it his true form. The city before him would surely cry in pain soon. His body now composed of light, his body now a battery of light, he needn’t any miniscule things, he merely wanted to take out those who would oppose him, one team at a time.

About him swirled two nameless faces, both of a darker nature. He sent them off to take out any miniscule bystanders. But they would return in time to finish off the team that was sure to come. Light strode forward, from his hands leapt beams that tore at the atoms of the objects before him. He brought one arm over his head shooting off many a blast, alerting any and all heroes of his location.

Dr. Light saw in the sky a golden speckle in the sky, perhaps it was Starfire, so the team had finally come.

Ray saw the face of his enemy, a disappointed look was mirrored upon it, was he expecting someone else?

“What’s the matter Light, expecting someone else.” He shouted down to his enemy as soon as he was in range.

“Of course!” He scoffed, “Why would I want such a lowly opponent, but if I must destroy you with your own art, then let it be.”

The Ray was insulted and so without hesitation he shot forth many a blast of light. Without stopping, he sped forward, using his speed as an advantage. Ray looked on at his enemy, Light disappeared in a shell of light, the shield absorbing the blasts. The shield began to dissipate and Ray flew towards Dr. Light. Ray knew he was physically weak, but perhaps a blast close enough could cause damage. When Ray’s speed brought him a couple feet from Light’s costume he shot forth a wide beam, which encompassed all of Dr. Light’s being.

Before Light, Ray shot forth a powerful beam, which enveloped his entire body, yet Light knew what to do. He brought his arms forth and took in some energy. After a second or so he constructed a shield, his arms motioning about him, a wall of light forming in their wake. One spin and the shield was finished, not a soul could break through his new invention. He saw the form of Ray letting out all of the energy he could to break through the light shield, Light smirked, he shot ball of light below him, a powerful blast which projected him up, shooting him through the roof of the shield. Dr. Light hung in mid air, for a moment or two, in that team he let forth a powerful beam, making it tangible instantly, giving it more of a kick because of the gravity. The beam continued on for a minute, he could not see Ray but knew the pain was intense. Ray was flung back, and Dr. Light saw where he was headed. He shot a tangible blast of light at the building behind him, bringing the metal under it to the light. Anything going at a certain speed would be killed in seconds with the metal skeleton cutting through the skin.

Ray flipped himself about, he saw where he was headed and shot a blast to his side, he angled himself just so. He crashed the wall in seconds, the metal skeleton beside him.

Sadly, Ray knew Dr. Light had more control over his light; he would need help to take out this menace. Light seemed to be caught up in some random speech, and so Ray took the opportunity to call in for some backup. He went for his Com-link, hoping to catch Falcon…

“Falcon, call in the team Dr. Light has gone mad again!” Static was the reply… Perfect timing she wasn’t available, perhaps she was caught up with some Bat business. He ran through his mind the anybody else he could call, he hoped to death Supersonic was awake, or not eating, “Marx, it’s me Ray, and I am here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Get over here quick, and bring anyone you can!! Dr. Light doesn’t like to wait!

Ray knew Supersonic was reliable, but if Falcon truly was on some Bat business, then most of the team would be gone, and so he thought to call in a favor from Kid Flash. “Hey Kid, I need a favor. Would you mind bringing a couple members over here to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania? I am in some serious trouble; if anyone is a bit reluctant, just tell them Dr. Light called…

Seconds after the call had reached Kid Flash he began searching the tower. From the sound of it all Ray needed quite a bit of help, but it didn’t seem like many of the members were in the Tower, had he slept through an alarm again! Through the tower he traveled, in his wake he left a yellow and red color line. Kid Flash had an inkling that he would not find a soul but he had to hope someone would be found.

Kid Flash had grown a bit desperate, he hoped that his friend was doing fine for the moment, for he feared he might have to go it alone. He ransacked each and every room, all to no avail. He then found his way to the main computer room; he heard someone’s voice on the other end.

“FINALLY!” He shouted.

He banged on the door for quite some time before he remembered he knew the code. He burst through the door, tripping over himself. Before him sat Robin, he must have been talking to someone via headset.

“RobinRaysayshesgettingthrashedbyDrLighthesaysheneedsabitofbackupisthereanyoneelseyoucancall!?”

Robin - March 21, 2005 10:09 PM (GMT)
"...where you will hopefully find the mainframe," Robin explained into his headset, while examining a map layout before him. He nodded as the person on the other end divulged some more information back to him. "That's right Batgirl. You need to then pull the blue wire from the back, and that should be it. Good. Now you better hurry that back to Batman for examination. There's no telling that Mad Hatter wanted those files for, and we can't risk him using them."

Ever since Oracle had left Gotham following the Gang War, information had become somewhat more scarce that it had been before. It wasn't to say that Oracle still wasn't the foremost information broker in the world, and computer genius, but since she had decided to go global with the Birds of Prey, the Gotham Knights had been forced to rely on themselves a bit more than before. They could still call Oracle for help, but only in the most extreme of cases.

And with Robin and Batgirl now taking over for Nightwing in Bludhaven, they had to rely on one another.

Robin's conversation with Cassandra Cain was interupted by the sudden banging on the computer lab, followed by the doors finally 'swishing' open. The Teen Wonder looked up to see Kid Flash speed in and knocking himself head first onto the floor. Robin of course didn't react, since that was a normal occurance for Bart Allen since as far back as he could remember.

"Yes Bart?" Robin asked almost casually, resting his cheek in one of his hands.

“RobinRaysayshesgettingthrashedbyDrLighthesaysheneedsabitofbackupisthereanyoneelseyoucancall!?”

Now although Bart had been speaking as fast as he possibly could, Robin had been around him long enough to at least get the jist of things. He had heard 'Ray', 'Dr. Light' and ' Back-up' above all else.

"Batgirl, I've gotta go!" he shouted, before cutting the line and turning to the computer terminal before him and opening up all the Titan files available.

A year ago, he wouldn't have given Dr. Light a second thought, but after everything that happened with Jean Loring six months ago, Light had become a real threat. Last time they faced off, he nearly killed Green Arrow had it not been for the entire Teen Titans roster.

Using the JLA satalites in orbit, Robin was able to pinpoint Ray's exact location and began sending out summons to every available Teen Titan, Young Justice JLA, Outsiders member he could. Unfortunately, he was having a bit of a problem, since the JLA was currently investigating a call on Io, the Outsiders were in North Korea, and the Titans and YJ just weren't answering as of yet.

And so he could only leave quick messages, hoping that they would react along the lines of...

'EMERGENCY!

DOCTOR LIGHT IS BACK. ALL AVAILABLE HEROES NEEDED AT PHILADELPHIA PENNSYLVANIA. COORIDANTS AS FOLLOWED...'

Robin quickly turned to Kid Flash his game face firmly set. "That's all we can do. Let's hope they get the messages. Now lets move," Robin told the speedster.

Shinobi - March 22, 2005 02:40 AM (GMT)
"Alright everyone, today's warm-up is going to be EXTRA fun." Adam said smiling at the assemblage of students in the dojo, they ranged from young to old, and were in various degrees of physical shape. All of them seemed worried. "Run." Adam said and started on a full run around the matts, the others pressing to keep up with the young man, at this point an object in his jacket, hanging on a peg started beeping. "Keep going." He said as he walked off the matts to check it out seeing the message showing on it. "Well crap..." was all he said quickly moving to his grandfathers side and whispering a few things to him, the older man nodded and Adam dashed into the basement.

"Well everyone, Adam needs to attend to some...personal matters." Enoki said with a smile. "So I'LL be taking over the warmup and lesson today." At this many people groaned.

Marx - March 22, 2005 08:45 PM (GMT)
"SPOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!"

Supersonic exploded into laughter as he watched one of his all time favorite cartoons. He could never get enough of this show, if only superheroing was really like this it would make things so much easier. And almost on cue with the thought, Super's comm-link began to go off. "Just great, I don't even have anymore tapes to record this episode." But knowing his priorities Super quickly grabbed the device.

"Marx, it’s me Ray, and I am here in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Get over here quick, and bring anyone you can!! Dr. Light doesn’t like to wait!"

"Gotcha Ray!" Super didn't know too much about Dr. Light, but he knew two things. Rumor had it that he was a dork turned back into a badass and two, Ray asked for his help so he must have needed it. Quickly grabbing one of his hoodies, Supersonic pushed a button on his wrist calling his motorcycle. "Yo Electro! I need as many heroes as you can find ASAP! And before you say it, Hi Electro, how are you doing?"

"I'm doing fine. Was that so hard? Really was it?" "ELECTRO!" "I'm doing it I'm doing it. I've locked on to Shinobi and Gabe's general direction so far." "Good, I guess we can get Shinobi first." Accessing his own comm-link, Super patched through to the ninja so he'd know the speedster was coming. "Hey Shinobi, I take it you've gotten Robin's message. I should be there to pick you up in less than a minute."

Shinobi - March 23, 2005 01:42 AM (GMT)
Shinobi was running at a full out sprint to the teleporter in New York when he was contacted again: "Hey Shinobi, I take it you've gotten Robin's message. I should be there to pick you up in less than a minute."

"Alright," Shinobi said into his link. "I wasnt looking foreward to all the running that would be involved." With that he managed to keep himself hidden from the general public until Super did arrive, in as he said, only a few seconds. "What kept you?" He asked amiably.

Marx - March 25, 2005 05:27 PM (GMT)
(Anyone know if Gabe's still interested in the story? He hasn't been on for awhile.)

"It was windy and Electro kept chasing after the girls wearing skirts." Super said with a smirk as he picked up Shinobi. "Oh? So I guess you weren't looking either." "Well of course I was looking, but I wasn't doing the initial stopping. Let's go! You can pick up Gabe after we get there." The cycle revved in reply and took off towards Ray's signal. When the blurring stopped, Super saw the Ray as well as Dr. Light and two others. Getting off the cycle, Super joined YJ's other speedster and looked at the opponents. "Have no fear the calvary's here...er...part of the calvary anyway..."

Giving a nod to Electro the cycle took off to find any other heroes who'd be able to help. Now that Dr. Light had been souped up, they'd need all the help they could get.

Shinobi - March 25, 2005 05:31 PM (GMT)
"So...any idea what angle we use to attack him?" Shinobi asked after getting off Electro as well, already holding a kunai in one hand and standing in a defensive position.

(I was actually wondering that as well.)

{{:-p Sorry guys, when a whole bunch of us Puerto Rican’s gather in one spot we have to go somewhere for hours on end, every damn day… Anyways I got some time before the barbeque, let’s get through this. Mystery Guest number 1 will be brought to light in my next post, after everyone gets in a hit. And I haven’t the foggiest what to do with Gabe.))

Through the air, Ray flew, the wind literally knocked out of him, he could hardly open his eyes much less summon the power to shoot forth a blast of light. Dr. Light clearly had the upper hand. His black suit was a powerful shield against the light, despite the white strips throughout the costume. Ray felt soon he would perish, and against another warrior of the light, it would be such a horrid event. Ray threw himself against the ground, sliding for what felt like miles. His uniform was torn his black skin letting forth some cuts and much blood.

Ray stood up, a chore that he never thought would feel so bad, and yet it was truly all for naught, for on came an onslaught of attacks…

Dr. Light saw the pain he put on Ray, and a smile left his lips, more would soon come, as soon as the rest of the team came, both teams… The good doctor shot blasts; both substantial and ethereal, at the Ray he needn’t worry much about this boy anymore. For his muscles were weak, it was clear to see the pain he felt whenever he tried to raise himself from the rubble floor. However, whenever a miracle occurred and he shot a blast, Dr. Light simply constructed a small shield, catching the Ray off guard. Ray’s mind was most likely muddy by now, he could hardy form a plan and yet Light knew the reinforcements had been called, soon the Teen Titan’s would all form in a quaint little spot for their immediate demise.

Ray imagined Jennifer, and was glad that she was safe at home, away from all of this grief. Ray looked at his tortured Com-link, even if he could get a call through it would simply be an annoyance to both Kid Flash and Supersonic, no matter how annoying both were by themselves. Then suddenly quickly from above, Electro appeared, a couple of heroes jumping off, on in gothic garments the other in a white hoodie.

Once again the good doctor threw himself in a monologue, and Ray saw another opportunity to inform the others of his location. What the hell was he talking about anyways? Regardless Ray stood up slowly, achingly, and tossed himself in the air. Hovering for a second or so but flying, soon, hardly at full speed.

“Super and Shinobi, is that all you could muster, well whatever, one look at me and you can see I need all the help I can get. I don’t care what the hell you do, I just need some help against this monster!.”

Ray turned away from them and went after Dr. Light again, he felt now he had, finally, a fighting chance. Supersonic and Shinobi were both seasoned fighters he felt they could bring down this man.

"That's all we can do. Let's hope they get the messages. Now lets move,"

In his mind Kid Flash prayed, they could finally get out to go and help the Ray. Kid Flash manically hopped up and down, stretching his legs for the fight soon to come. His golden suit gleamed in the light, he was ready for action.

“Alright! Let’s go!!!” He yelled running through the halls before arriving in the same spot once again. Kid Flash looked at Robin, his eyes wide, something forming in the depths of his mind. In seconds Kid Flash ran to Robin and picked him up, in his arms was a surprised Robin.

“Come on! We don’t have any time to waste! This is much faster.” He said zooming through the halls. Soon enough they were outside, Kid Flash looking out on the waters. He looked up and heard some revving, what the devil was that? Before them stood a bike, whose was it? The thing then began to spur out some annoying nonsense

“Get on guys, you were the only ones I could find… Too bad too, no women whatsoever, I haven’t had one ride me in a while, oh well I’m going to Kirby soon.” The bike was apparently talking to them.

Before Kid Flash could say a thing the bike got under the two heroes and was flying on by the countryside.

Not five minutes later did they reach ray’s location, kid Flash quickly hopped off and ran through the area searching for the Ray and anyone who might need any help, not a soul was found. He found Robin again seeking his aid.

“Robin see Ray, or any other hero?”

Shinobi - March 26, 2005 06:02 AM (GMT)
"Well..." Shinobi said, speaking to Super and Ray. "I'd say the odds have just shifted nicely into our favor eh?" With that said he quickly threw a kunai at Docter Light, but that was intended mearly as a diversionary tactic, as he dashed and quickly performed a roll across the distance, the moment he was on his feet he quickly covered the remainder of the distance and brought his fist foreward in an attempted blow the Docter Light's solar plexus.

Robin - March 26, 2005 06:04 AM (GMT)
"Electro, shut up and fly" Robin ordered as the cycle forced him and Bart onto it. It seemed rather unnecessary that Supersonic sent his motor-cycle to get them, when Kid Flash was twice as fast as the motorcycle (fastest kid alive and all that, remember?), but at the moment, he didn't care as long as they got where they were going. Doctor Light was his only concern.

Five minutes later, they had arrived at their destination and Robin climbed off the cycle. Arthur Light. He had always been a joke. At least that's what people thought. But before the JLA altered his personality with Zatanna's magiks, he had been a sociopath.

Robin pointedly ignored Kid Flash's question as he looked around, his entire body tensed in anticipation. Snapping out his palm pilot, Robin activated the tracking devises that were sewn into everyone's costumes in case of emergencies.

"This way," Robin said, firing a D-Cell line and swinging in the direction of the signal. He landed a rooftop a moment later, and glared down at the fight taking place. Their foe could control Light in any way shape and form, making him far more dangerous than one would think. Especially after what he did to Green Arrow.

"Ray, Supersonic, Kid Flash do you copy?" Robin said into his com-link. "We need some super-speed cover from you guys. Hit him hard and hit him fast." Taking out a hypo-spray Robin's eyes narrowed. If maybe they could sedate him, they would be able to end this without much in ways of casualties.

Marx - March 30, 2005 05:54 PM (GMT)
To be honest, Supersonic didn't know too much about Dr. Light. Since he wasn't native to this dimension there were a lot of heroes and villians he was ignorant of. After some studying on the database in YJ HQ he was able to at least get a basic understanding of the majority of them. Though when he studied them Dr. Light's file wasn't that extensive, he wasn't that big of an issue. But there had to be a reason they were calling all available hands, possibly the others with the doctor. Whatever the reason Super would help all he could. Supersonic had already prepared to attack when he saw Shinobi launching one of his own and then got a call on his comm-link.

"Ray, Supersonic, Kid Flash do you copy?" Robin said into his com-link. "We need some super-speed cover from you guys. Hit him hard and hit him fast."

"Aye aye Cap'n!" Super cracked as he dashed for Dr. Light. Running around Dr. Light in circles, Marx hit him multiple times, adding a jolt of electricity with each blow.

Quracen - March 31, 2005 02:44 AM (GMT)
((OOC: FINALLY!!! The mystery guests show their faces))

Doctor Light looked to his side and he saw a Kunai coming his way, he raised his hand and shot a blast toward it, a worthless attack. Moments later Light saw some man wrapped in black attack him. He was taken aback it was a strong hit indeed, be he balanced himself quickly after shooting a blast at the ground, thrusting him up. Soon Dr. Light shot thin beams of light at key points on the bandaged mans body

Dr. Light was thrown into a bit of a shocked state, once again; about him a man in a white hood began to circle him with amazing speed. The being, with every circle, attacked Dr. Light with a flurry of fists, the fists also sending a good amount of electricity through Light’s body. The doctor was surprised he was unaware many people had the usage of light in such ways. Throughout the battle with Ray he sensed a third source of light heading towards them, but he gave it nary a thought. He saw it now, and he knew now how he could take out this pathetic combatant.

“A new member of the team? Regardless this shall be far too easy!” He said a smirk forming on his lips. He raised his left arm, his palm parallel to his body. He began to concentrate, deep in thought. With this boy running at such a speed he needed to wait a second or so before he could sense the light within the hooded figure. He found it. His hand began to glow faintly, but soon it began to pulsate, the electricity from each attack soon began to wane.

Doctor Light was almost successful in removing every bit of light within the being when Kid Flash began circling Light and in one rotation the Kid knocked back Light’s arm stopping the flow of light.

“Apparently you have more annoying friends. Too bad the actual Titan’s couldn’t come, oh well,” He said gesturing with his hand, “I suppose this dismal group shall have to do. But why not make it a bit more interesting.”

From the shadows crept a figure with skin of a disgusting blood red. Despite the redness of his skin he flew through the darkness with great ease. He heard the beckoning of Dr. Light and began searching for the man. In truth he was not searching for the Doctor with all his might, for he could care less with helping that man, but from the sound of it all it seemed like he could sink his teeth into a couple people.

The being flapped his wings and noticed below him his partner in crime, the one he saved from the depths of Hell. She was teleporting to the location; she seemed to really wish to find the enemies… Perhaps she had a personal vendetta. Regardless he tossed it aside, it just meant more fighting and that is all he wanted.

Below him he saw quite a few people caught in a bit of rubble, all he could do was smirk, his white teeth gleaming. He rose his hand and send down a blazing inferno, hoping with all his might the people would suffer for quite some time.

In seconds he found Dr. Light, in the center of all the fighting and his partner hiding in the shadows watching two specific combatants. He flew above Dr. Light’s situation and gestured, a section in the speedsters’ track turned a disturbing red. Soon the ground began to rise, hoping to trip the two runners. He flew down swiftly, he recognized one of the runners, he saw it the perfect opportunity to distract him.

“Hey Supersonic, I’ve come to torment once again.” Goth said a sinister smile forming on his face.

For a minute or two Goth let his eyes wander he looked over to the second runner, he did fall over… But not because of the raised stone.

Kid Flash felt ashamed, he simply looked up at this red beast and he fell over. Kid Flash’s costume now was dirtied, but he could care less. He got up and ran toward this man named Goth, furious. However his dreams were crushed for soon he felt a sick feeling in the pits of his stomach. He clutched his stomach as he saw his body disappear. His feet were gone first, and with their vanishing the stumps fell to the floor. About him he saw lights of all variations and later he saw rings circling his body. Soon his sight began to wane, it felt horrible his feet were gone, a runner without feet was nothing. He collapsed to the floor, as the lights became so bright he could no longer see.

His sight finally came back to him. He rose from the ground, his feet newly returned. He saw someone different… yet someone familiar.

“OMEN!” He cried out.

“You know Impulse… Or I am sorry it is now Kid Flash… Regardless, I hardly recognized you, but I sensed it. Having your psychic reflection within me comes in handy now doesn’t it?” She took off her hood to show Kid Flash it was truly her, Lilith, but then quickly put it back on. Omen took a few steps forward, her robe dragging on the floor.

“On the other hand… Some people never change now do they?’ She said, gesturing to her left. “Robin should appear here any second.”

Robin - March 31, 2005 04:52 AM (GMT)
As if on cue, Robin appeared on the scene as he swung down from a high skyscrapper down towards the fight scene. He cut the line, and executed a mid-air double roll, before throwing down a handful of black marbles down at Doctor Light's feet. The marbles exploded into thick blinding blast of black smoke which would blind and make it difficult to breath.

Robin landed in a croutch and snapped out his bo-staff before swinging it directly at Light's face. The long cylinder connected with the villain's face in a loud. "Light out!"

The Teen Wonder's face was set into a firm scowl. He had watched as much as he could from his perch but when things had gone south, he knew that he couldn't play tactician forever. He needed to get his hands dirty. He had hoped that Kid Flash and Supersonic's speed would be too much for Light, but ever since he got his nerve back, the psychopath was far smarter than he had been back in Nightwing's day.

But he was also concerned about the unexplained arrival of Goth. The psychotic teen punk singer, turned genetically altered occult freak had no ties to Light. So what was he doing here?

Robin didn't waste any time, before turning on his feet and sending a batarang at Goth's direction. He couldn't take both of these guys on his own, and he knew it. But he need to draw there attention long enough for the others to recover.

"Ray, break off your attack with Light!" he shouted into his com-link. "We can't give him more power than he already has. Concentrate on Goth! Supersonic you too!" His eyes never left light, since he mask protect him from the smoke of his gas pellets and the main brunt of Light's blasts.

He still had the hypo-spray ready, but he needed to get closer to Light. From a distant, Light could take out any of his long-distant sedatives with a well placed light blast.

"Shinobi, Kid Flash! We've got Doctor--" He turned to finish his order to Kid Flash when he caught sight of a familar hooded figure and his stomach leapt into his throat as he finally got a good view of the figure talking to Kid Flash. "What the hell?"

Marx - April 10, 2005 03:07 PM (GMT)
"A new member of the team? Regardless this shall be far too easy!"

Before Super could even think about making the villian eat his words it was too late. He suddenly felt like he was getting weaker and momentarily lost his footing. 'W-what the hell is he doing to me?' The speedster thought before he realized what was happening. Dr. Light was steadily taking the speedster's electricity right out of him. 'Why doesn't anyone ever tell me these things!' But keeping with the constant attacks, the ground under Supersonic began to turn red and completely trip him up this time. But when he looked up he saw a familiar face.

"Hey Supersonic, I've come to torment once again."

Looking up to the dark figure that stood before him, Super recognized Goth. He hadn't seen the demonlike immortal since YJ was inadvertently formed for the first time when Bedlam kidnapped certain key members of the Teen Titans. "Is that right? You know Goth, after the last time, I looked you up just to see who I was fighting and I ended up hearing one of your songs. Dude...you suck. 'I stepped on your dog. Your momma's a hog'? I've heard better Anti-Flag songs." After the insult Super tried to take advantage with a swift uppercut to the jaw as he brought himself to his feet. He had fought Goth before and to be honest he didn't do all that well. This guy was on par with Duo which alone was a reason to take him seriously even if he didn't realize it.

Quracen - May 3, 2005 12:53 AM (GMT)
"Is that right? You know Goth, after the last time, I looked you up just to see who I was fighting and I ended up hearing one of your songs. Dude...you suck. 'I stepped on your dog. Your momma's a hog'? I've heard better Anti-Flag songs."

A quick jolt of anger and intense hatred shot through Goth, then. Yet he hid his agitation from Supersonic, the only inclination visible was the slight twitch in his left eyebrow… “Really now Supersonic, if I remember correctly, and I know I do, I had quite the following.” He emphasized Super, in a mocking tone to catch Supersonic’s attention. Goth knew that most of his followers were under the influence, but what did it matter. Running his hands through his purple hair he spoke, “To be honest most of them were just after me for my looks. Can we say the same for you, I can see it now the girls swooning over your intricate face.” Goth could not help but smirk, as he hopped to the side trying to dodge Super’s rather unexpected assault. He did not dodge the whole of the attack though, a stream of blood running down his neck. After wiping of the blood, which blended in with his skin, he rose his hands, his nails growing.

About his sharp, black nails dark winds circled. Goth closed his eyes, imagining all the deaths he had seen in the world, all the deaths he had caused. He imagined taking a knife, and shoving it through Supersonic’s heart. He wished to torture every single one of the heroes on these lands; he wished to hear their screams, and cries of agony and defeat. All Goth could do was smile, it was a wonderful sight but it was not real, not yet. The dark winds grew, cutting at the edges of his nails, when he saw them fit he tossed them forth, allowing them to gain sufficient force. Goth motioned, clapping his hands together forming a fire along the edges of the winds allowing them to follow their path toward the enemy, the winds’ trajectory, perhaps he would hit Ray as well!

“Now Super do concentrate on the fight this time, or do you want me to have to take you up to the flag pole again. Oh let’s not forget about our little ninja, the Doctor says he wants to fight a one on one fight.”

Goth flew towards Shinobi, “Now what should I do, physical pain, or now mental damage is always more fun, there is always a chance for insanity… Or maybe spiritual! So many possibilities!” In the end he decided for a quick but devastating attack, he brought about his arm, bringing it to his side, he then grabbed hold of one of his Kusari-Gama (or in other words Chain Sickle, if you watch Inuyasha it’s Kohaku’s weapon). A slight jolt of pain went through his body, he his finger on his weapon, but it did not matter. Within seconds the Kusari-Gama was sent flying towards Shinobi, the chain whipping at the air.

“Let’s see how good this ninja is.”

"What the hell?"

“ROBIN! Yay! You’re here! We will have much fun!” Omen spoke in a perky speedy manner, mirroring that of Kid Flash. It was almost out of nowhere, almost frightening. Continuing her buoyant form she rushed toward the newly formed Robin, embracing him, tightly, digging her nails into his skin. After a short while she let go giving him a kiss on the cheek, smiling in the end. “You know Robin, we never were that close, I always wish it were other wise, but it’s too late. I got over it after I saw my funeral… lack there of.” Her perky nature was gone as quickly as it had appeared; she now took on a more serious, dark air.

Omen teleported back, many feet away from Robin and traced her finger across the floor, picking up a bit of soot. “Don’t you just love destruction, I’ve grown to love it.” She swiped her hand in the air in front of her in an arc, sending sharp telepathic blades towards the two heroes before her. “I’ve picked up a few new tricks, and strengthened my old ones. Things seem to be going my way! Don’t you think so Impulse?” She turned around, he had dodged the blast but she new he would she merely wanted to tempt him.

“My dear Kid Flash, your memory is a bit lax isn’t it, what was my first ability? I was a precog you imbecile”

“Omen, I don’t care if you can predict the future, you never were really good at it!” Kid Flash shouted at her, getting ready to punch her, but she blocked him, each time. He tried to punch her in her in her stomach, to knock her down but she disappeared in some white lights. He figured she was behind him so as fast as possible, he dropped down and tried to swipe her feet, she was nowhere near he…

“Oh Kid Flash touché, good show! You have learned a few new tricks!” Once again she took on her psychotic nature, as she stood some ten feet away from the Kid, clapping her hands. When she saw it fit, she rushed for him, while he still lay on the ground. She place her hand on his back, sending a blast through her arm, into his body, and quickly following it up with a rush of heat. “Oh! I know what’s wrong, your jealous about the little kiss I gave Robin, aren’t you?” The last bit was uttered in a seductive, husky voice.

Kid Flash laid on the ground the pain sending pain throughout his entire body. He simply lay there for god knows how long. Pulling himself up, he ran to a small pool of water; tossing himself, back first into the pool. “Damn you Omen! We don’t deserve this, we did nothing wrong!”

“Oh no? Your right!” She said sarcastically, “I’m glad then, that, I was remembered as much as DONNA!!”

Shinobi - May 3, 2005 01:42 AM (GMT)
Shinobi had been taken mostly by surprise when Goth attacked him, because of that despite his attempt to dodge he still took a nasty looking cut across his arm, he responded in kind with his own chain weapon hurling the Kusari-fundo at Goth's head. "Alright, lets play it like this."

Robin - May 3, 2005 04:43 AM (GMT)
(Am I the only one wondering what's going on with Dr. Light?)

Robin knew that heroes and death had a... shakey relationship at best, but he was VERY suprised to be embraced painfully by who appeared to be Omen. His arm were being ripped into by her claw-like nails and kissed suddenly on the cheek.

But how was that possible? Lillith Clay had her nexk snapped by a Superman-robot.

The next thing Robin knew, 'Omen' had teleported away and began attacking Kid Flash once again. Two villains and possibly one Titan gone mad: Light, Goth and Omen. This was getting beyond exessive. None of these three had anything in common, and they were attacking all at once.

Casting his eyes around, Robin couldn't see any sign of Doctor Light (since I don't know what's happened to him). Where did he go this time? Was this all just a set up? Use Light to get their attention and then get taken out by Omen and Goth?

QUOTE (KID FLASH)
“Damn you Omen! We don’t deserve this, we did nothing wrong!”

Robin's head snapped around to see Kid Flash leaping into a pool as Omen continued her attacks. This was all very wrong. Tim hadn't known Omen as well as Nightwing or Wally, but he had worked with her several times in the past and he had gotten a decent understanding of her.

QUOTE (OMEN)
“Oh no? Your right!” She said sarcastically, “I’m glad then, that, I was remembered as much as DONNA!!”

As the words left her mouth, Omen's body was sudden bound tightly by an unexpected D-Cell cord, hooked to a grappling hook. At the end of the rope was Robin, his arm extended and his face contorted into a scowl.

"I don't know who you are," he growled, "and I don't really care. All I know is you sure as hell can't be Lillith Clay. She was a good person, who taught peace and understanding. She believed in the teaching of Azar. She didn't hold grudges."

Robin pressed a button on the side of the grapple gun. It sent out a sudden blast of electricity down the line and to Omen like a tazer.

"Lilith knew that she would always be remembed and loved."

Quracen - May 4, 2005 01:26 AM (GMT)
Omen could not help but let out a painful cry. Through her body was sent a rush of electricity, she wished to scream louder, but did not feel that the game would be as fun if either of them went down so easily. Brushing away the intense pain Omen let out a large smile, as she struggled to listen to Robin’s little speech. What was he blathering on about now?

“What was that Robin? You lost me after ‘you sure as hell can’t be Lillith Clay’. You guys have really got to amp it up!” To most listeners it was probably extremely hard to understand Omen, for her words were lost in the crackling of the electricity. She had had enough of this shtick, after her words she teleported out of the ‘ring of fire’ only to find herself struck in the back by one of Kid Flash’s punches. She found herself staggering forward some feet but she was able to regain herself soon enough.

“Seriously Omen, you got to find a more discreet way to teleport, those lights are a dead giveaway!” Kid Flash rushed toward his opponent, an angry expression mirrored on his face. Kid Flash found himself running circles about Omen, striking her every now and then…

“Oh Kid, really when I said ‘new tricks’ I didn’t only mean mystically.” Before she finished her sentence she was on the floor, much like Kid Flash had been a while ago, she thrust her body forward, her leg outstretched she went in a circle in an attempt to trip Kid Flash. It did not work but he was far enough away not to be able to land a punch, and so following suit, Omen teleported behind Kid Flash, sending a telekinetic blast toward Kid Flash’s body. Omen turned around then, the last thing she saw was Kid Flash flying towards a near-by building.

"Alright, lets play it like this."

Pulling back his Kusari-Gama he saw the Kusari-fundo heading his way, he hadn’t had an enemy who used that weapon in a while, he hoped he would remember how to handle it.

”Yes let’s! I’m dieing to see someone’s blood! Yours will do, Ninja boy.” Goth veered to the left trying to avoid the weapon, but it came at him too fast, it struck his shoulder with intense power. “Not bad.” He muttered under his breath, not wanting anyone to get too confident.

Once again he let his Kusari-Gama fly towards Shinobi’s injured arm, this time sending a stream of fire down its length. After the metal was of sufficient heat, he let go of the fire, taking away its oxygen letting it dissipate.

Dr. Light outstretched his hand, palm up. He began to form a ball of light. After its diameter was well over twenty feet, he threw it at the Ray, quickly following up with a large beam of light.

“Really Ray, I do tire of this game, you should really consider giving up. At this point I’d much rather fight Robin, or Kid Flash”

Ray, dodging the sphere, threw out his own beam, trying to counterbalance Light’s blast, but at this point in the game, he was simply far too weary. He had been tossed against the buildings about time and time again. He forced out all the light he had within him, sending it into the blast, he concentrated as hard as possible, and perhaps he could solidify light?

If he could he could not do it at this point in time, at the time when he needed it most. Ray was angry simply at that fact, forget the fact that he was getting beaten by this other light warrior.

“You know, I may not be an honest to god Doctor, but you seem hurt, I think you may have a serious injury”

Ray would not respond, he needed to focus on this fight, he was almost completely drained, one stumble and he would surely find himself on the ground.

Marx - May 5, 2005 03:53 PM (GMT)
“Now Super do concentrate on the fight this time, or do you want me to have to take you up to the flag pole again. Oh let’s not forget about our little ninja, the Doctor says he wants to fight a one on one fight.”

Super was forced to throw off his hoodie as it caught fire. Not because the fire itself hurt him but because he didn't have the time to put it out. "Dude, your fans don't count if you hypnotize them, oh yeah, about that flagpole thing..." Supersonic took flight to attack Goth again only to see the demon had turned his attention to Shinobi as well. This could turn out to be a saving grace, Super honestly wasn't sure if he could take out Goth on his own, but with the ninja helping him it evened the odds, this was proven again as they matched with their chained weapons.

”Yes let’s! I’m dieing to see someone’s blood! Yours will do, Ninja boy.”

"Might have been the case if he was fighting alone. Didn't forget about me did ya?" Super quipped as he used his morphing powers to wrap his hands around Goth's wrists. It was the perfect opportunity to shock the demon leaving him open for Shinobi's next attack. At least that was the plan, but there is a bad thing that does occasionally happen with plans... "Heh, would you look at that? You should be fried like a chicken in Kentucky right now...but it doesn't seem like my electricity powers are working at the moment..." He knew that Dr. Light had taken it from him previously but Marx didn't know that he'd taken so much of it. "Can you say improvise?" Immediately the word 'improvise' literally appeared on Super's arm, and popped out hitting Goth in the head like a hammer. "I knew you could."

Robin - May 6, 2005 05:47 AM (GMT)
Robin was gettting annoyed. This woman may look like Omen, but was offically not her. She was totally out of her mind. Not just was she attacking them, but she was behaving more like Harley Quinn than Lilith Clay. She was completely out over character, leading to the conclusion of possession, mind-control, clone or shape-shifter.

But why was she emphasising her attacks on Kid Flash? Bart didn't even know her aside from seeing her during the Cybertronic Conflict and when Indigo first showed up leading her her and Donna's death.

His gaze transfered to where Supersonic and Goth fought and then to where Dr. Light and Ray duked it out. "Oh for the luv of..." he growled.

"First thing first..." Robin thought before looking up at where Ray flew. "RAY! CATCH!" Robin threw up a black ball, at Ray. "Use it on Light!"

The projectile was actually one of Doctor Mid-Nite's, black out bombs, that Batman had re-created. It consisted of a gas compound that was compressed into an inky mist which would block. out all light.

Shinobi - May 9, 2005 07:56 PM (GMT)
The ninja in question quickly flipped to the side to avoid the heated weapon sent at him as he noticed Supersonic interfere in the fight with Goth. "Thanks for the assist." He noted before sending the weight on his chain once again at Goth, aiming for his throat, hoping to cut off his oxygen for a bit.
