His other talents include high level detective work, computer science, healing skills, and analytical thinking. He also has a presence similar to his mentor, Batman and is just as stealthy since he is able to conceal himself in shadows most effectively.

Weapons, Gadgets, Miscellany: Robin's costume is fireproof and bulletproof. His utility belt contains numerous weapons that help him in his fight against crime, the most notable of which are batarangs, his 'R' throwing stars, his sling and his collapsible staff.
History: Tim Drake was barely 2 years old when his parents took him to Haley Circus. It was there that he first met the acrobatic family 'The Flying Graysons' comprised of John, Mary and their only son Richard 'Dick' Grayson. Tim's parent had asked the Grayson to pose for a picture, which the Grayson family did all to gladly. Dick in particular paid young Tim close attention, and promised the boy that his act would be especially for him. Soon after the show started and Tim waited anxiously to see his new hero Dick Grayson to perform his famous 'Quadupal Summersault of death' in which he was the youngest to ever accomplish such a feet.
Unfortunately this would be the last pefromance of the Flying Graysons as Mary and John were murdered when a local mob boss had cut their lines, leaving Dick Grayson to mourn. But as the Drake ushered their son out, Tim caught sight of the Batman land besides Dick and offer him comfort.
For years, Tim was plagued by nightmares about the Graysons' accident, until one day, the nine-year-old Tim saw a news broadcast in which a security camera filmed Batman and Robin battling the Penguin. Robin executed quadruple somersault to defeat the rogue, and Tim knew it could only be Dick Grayson doing it. Tim took his findings to their inevitable conclusion: Bruce Wayne was Batman.
He followed the Dynamic Duo's careers closely for the next few years and was aware of when when Dick became Nightwing and when Bruce Wayne adopted Jason Todd. Shortly after Jason's adoption, a new Robin was seen and Tim once again concluded the Boy Wonder's new identity.
Less than two years after the new Robin appeared, Tim read of Jason's death in the Middle East, which meant that Robin was dead. Over the next few months, he began hear with alarm that Batman seemed to be going off the deep end as he began to brutalize his enemies which no second thought to his own wellbeing. At one point Tim tracked down that Batman and he photographed Batman's sloppiness.
Tim knew that only one person could help Batman and that was the first Robin: Dick Grayson. When Dick left the Titans for a short time in order to find himself, Tim began to track him down. He first broke into Dick's apartment and deduced that Dick must have went to Haly's Circus. Tim followed Nightwing to the home of his childhood, and after Dick wrapped up a murder mystery, Tim convinced him that Batman was in trouble.
When Dick caught up with Batman, the Caped Crusader admitted that he could use some help, but Two-Face soon trapped both Nightwing and Batman. Tim was positive that his idols were still in danger and after dressing up as Robin and accompanied by Alfred, went to their rescue. Once Two-Face was defeated with positve word from Dick and Alfred as to the boy's skills, Batman reluctantly accepted Tim as the new Robin, but only on a trial basis.
For next few months, Batman began Tim's training with assistance from Nightwing and Alfred. Bruce had made certain to train Tim twice as hard as he had Dick and Jason Todd for fear of a repeat performance of his murdered son.
Afterwhich he sent Tim to Dick Grayson since only a former Robin could show Tim how to become Batman's partner. Dick nurtured and supported Tim's desire to become Robin, and helped ease him into the role and also helped Tim in dealing with Bruce's distant manner.
Whether his parents should be told never became an issue; were rarely around and since a young age they had left their son at a Gotham boarding school. Consequently, Bruce Wayne made arrangements to have Tim visit him frequently, during which time the boy continued to train in secret under Batman's watchful eye.
But while on a business trip to the Caribbean, they were abducted by the Obeah Man, leader of a voodoo cult. Despite Batman's intervention, the Drakes were poisoned by Obeah; Janet was killed and Jack was put into a paralytic coma. Batman began to question whether or not to continue Tim's training after this loss, for fear the Tim could not handle his rage and depression in the field.
But Tim finally proved himself ready, when one Christmas Batman and reporter Vic Vale were captured by the Scarecrow. Fearful of disgracing the Robin costume, Tim saved his mentor and the reporter simply wearing a ski mask for his disguise. Afterwards Tim was presented with a new, updated Robin suit and was allowed to travel to Europe to further hone his talents.
There, Tim studied combat under the watchful eyes of a martial arts master, former-FBI agent Rollins and most notable of all, Lady Shiva. After defeating the villain King Snake and Ghost Dragons, Tim returned to Gotham to begin his career offically at Batman's side.
Months later Batman was attacked a crippled by the villain Bane. Instead of asking Nightwing to fill in the role as expected, he asked the mysterious Azreal to wear the cowl. Robin tried to control Jean-Paul Valley's temper, but found it impossible, and was nearly killed by the mad-man during an arguement in the Batcave. It took the joint efforts of Bruce Wayne (who had recovered thanks to Lady Shiva's training), Nightwing and Catwoman to defeat the rogue villain.
Though shortly after, still recovering from his broken back, Bruce asked Dick to substitute for him as Batman for a time. Dick accepted. During this time, Dick established a wonderful partnership with new Robin, Tim Drake. Bruce eventually returned to Gotham to reclaim his role as Batman.
During the time that followed, Tim began to date Ariana Dzerchenko, an orphaned daughter of a butcher company owner. Despite many relationship highs and lows, they remained closed for many months. But this relationship ended amicably, with Tim moving on to a relationship with Stephanie Brown, the teenage vigilante known as Spoiler. They would date for several months, and Tim was even there to help with Stephanie's pregancy from a past relationship.
Tim also assisted the Teen Titans on a few occasions. He helped Atom's team of Titans rescue the man-monster Fringe and Supergirl (I) from the clutches of the Veil. He also helped train Argent following the apparent 'death' of Titan member Joto. Argent offered him membership in the Teen Titans, but Tim declined.
Robin joined with Superboy and Impulse to form a new team of heroes 'Young Justice' in which Tim was made leader. Over time their ranks swelled with the addition of Wonder Girl, Secret, Arrowette, Slo-bo, Empress, Red Tornado and Snapper Carr amongst others.
When the villain known as Klarion the Witch Boy managed to transform almost all of the world's heroes by reversing their age, Tim found himself wearing the mantle of Batman for one night. Through this night Tim experienced the Batman role for the first time, experiencing the fear that Batman evokes in people. After Batman confided that he sees Tim as a successor to his role as Gotham's chief protector, Tim said he wasn't sure if he would accept the job, but if he did it wouldn't be as Batman.
Tim Drake later aided the Titans again during the Technis Imperative conflict, which involved the Justice League as well as all Titans, past and present. The two teams eventually worked together to save the earth and former Titans teammate, Victor Stone (Cyborg).
Shortly after, Young Justice went under several changes. After the events of the Imperilix Wars, Robin left Young Justice when they began to question his loyalty and his association with Batman. Tim would later returned when Bedlam attacked the YJ team, though this time not as leader.
Several weeks later, Secret feeling hurt and betrayed by certain events, turned to Darkseid who took advantage of Greta's vulnerable state and turned Secret to the dark side. She began to enact revenge on all those who have wronged her throughout her young life - and last on her list: her Young Justice teammates. Robin eventually reminded Secret of her humanity and she broke free of Darkseid's control.
When a mysterious conglomerate known as Optitron offered to sponsor the Titans and Young Justice after summoning them to San Francisco. Before any decisions could be made, a mysterious cybernetic girl known as Indigo emerged from the future. Unwittingly, she somehow activated a rogue Superman android, resulting in the deaths of Troia and Omen. At Troia's funeral, Nightwing disbanded the Titans. Meanwhile, members of Young Justice, especially Wonder Girl, felt responsible for the tragic deaths. This led Wonder Girl, Robin, Impulse and Superboy to form a new group of Teen Titans under the guidance of the more experienced Cyborg, Starfire and Beast Boy.
Recently, Tim Drake's life has been full of emotional upheaval. When his father - Jack Drake - learned of his dual identity, he forced him to give up the Robin mantle, during which Tim's ex-girlfriend Stephanie (Spoiler) Brown usurped the Robin Mantle. Unfortunately Spoiler's time as Robin was shortlived when she disobeyed Batman in the line of duty.
Furious, Steph stole one of Batman's contingency plans for the Gotham gangs, and implimented it. Only she failed to do it properly and it led to a massive gang war that lead to Black Mask taking control, destroying the clocktower of the Oracle and the death of Orpheus.
When the Gang War reached his school, Tim became aware that he was needed, and once again re-donned the Robin mantle though against his father's wishes. Together with his mentor and friends he helped stop the Gang War, though Spoiler who had been captured and tortured by Black Mask also passed away shortly after the Gang was was ended.
But just as Jack came to terms with his son's life as a super-hero, he was murdered during what is now known as the Identity Crisis. Former-wife of the super-hero Ray 'Atom' Palmer, Jean Loring had murdered the wife of the Elongated Man, Sue Dibney. After sending threatening letters to Lois Lane and faking her own attack, Jean hired Captain Boomerang to murder Jack Drake and thus take any blame off herself. Jean had also sent Jack a gun, in which to defend himself, only in the end Jack was impaled by a diamond-tipped boomerang and Boomerang was shot through the heart.
Now with his father dead, his stepmother institutionalize, Tim must now pick up the shattered pieces of his life while also trying to find his place in the world as both Tim Drake and Robin.-------------------------------------------------------------

He was further trained in all forms of unarmed combat by one of the greatest combatants in the world, Batman. His skills as a detective are also superlative only secondary to Batman.

Weapons, Gadgets, Miscellany: Nightwing's new costume is fireproof and bulletproof and has a number of weapons hidden in it. Among them are his escrima sticks, batarangs, clawed fingers on each hand and a grappling hooks, explosives and gas pellets. His mask also has star-light lenses and thermal heat lenses.
History: Young Dick Grayson was born on the first day of spring. His mother nicknamed him "little Robin". Little did she know how prophetic this term of endearment would be in her son's life.
Dick Grayson was part of his family's acrobatic troupe, the Flying Graysons. Dick joined the act at a very young age, having been trained in acrobatics from birth. By the age of 7 he was considered amongst the top ten most skilled acrobatics in the world with his famed trick 'The Quadrupal Summersault of Death' in which only he and two other people could accomplish.
While on tour in Gotham City, nine-year-old Dick overheard "Boss"Anthony Zucco, a well-known and feared crime-lord, threaten the performers unless the circus's owner paid extortion money. The owner refused, and that night Dick watched in horror as his parents' high wire snapped, sending his parents hurtling to their deaths. Young Dick felt responsible, because he didn't warn his parents in time.
Shortly after the tragedy, a distant Bruce Wayne rescued Dick from an uncaring juvenile services system. Frustrated by the lack of attention from his new guardian and the mystery still surrounding his parents' death, Dick snuck out of Wayne Manor one evening to solve the crime on his own - only to stumble into Batman, who was also investigating the murder. Seeing a reflection of himself in Dick, Batman not only revealed his identity as Bruce Wayne to the boy, but also decided to train him to be his protege.
At this point, Bruce saw that Dick could temper compassion with a thirst for justice. So Bruce made the young orphan the offer of a lifetime; the chance to become his crime-fighting partner. Dick chose the name Robin, and his training began.
A talented and eager pupil, Dick made his debut as Robin the Boy Wonder a few short months later when he aided Batman in finally solving the murder of the Flying Graysons.
Bruce taught Dick fighting techniques and detective skills for a grueling 6 months. Finally, Dick had to pass a final test - "the Gauntlet". Dick must elude the Dark Knight on the streets of Gotham for one night - from sundown to sunset - without any outside help. Dick succeeded, simultaneously bringing Gotham gangster Joe Minette to justice. Dick took to the streets as Batman full-fledged partner in crime-fighting, Robin, the Boy Wonder.
Dick enjoyed his first year as Robin, regarding the job as an adventure until a confrontation with Two Face served as a rude awakening for the young hero. Two-Face had captured the new District Attorney and Batman, and had each suspended from a hangman's noose in a 'double gallows death-trap'. Robin, in trying to save the D.A., used a batarang to cut the rope of the noose. It worked, but Robin didn't account for Dent's obsession with the number two-- it was a two-fold trap, and the floor gave way, dropping the DA into the water, where the man drowned. Robin was unable to prevent his death, and received a beating at the hands of Two-Face. A beating witnessed by Batman. Eventually Batman was able to free himself and apprehend Two-Face. This event, however, scarred the young crime-fighter, and haunts him even today.
A few years later, Robin, Kid Flash and Aqualad joined together to stop the menace of Mr. Twister. It was the first time the sidekicks joined forces. Their second meeting was more eventful: Robin,Kid Flash, Aqualad, now joined by Wonder Girl and Speedy, fought against their mentors, who had been possessed by the evil Antithesis. At this second meeting, the five youngsters decided to become a team... and the Teen Titans were born! Robin naturally became the leader of the original Teen Titans. The sidekicks would continue to operate with their mentors, as well as spending time with their peers in the Teen Titans. Alas, some years later, the team disbanded, after numerous changes.
Dick continued his adventures with Batman, until a fateful confrontation with the Joker. Robin was shot in the shoulder by the Joker; though not fatal, the injury was an omen, a forewarning of what might happen. Batman took away the costume. It was his to take, he claimed. Dick would no longer be Robin. Furious, hurt, resigned, confused, eighteen year old Dick Grayson left Wayne Manor after this fallout, and attended Hudson University only to drop out after a semester.
It was soon after that the mysterious Raven summoned Dick Grayson, and several other young heroes, to form a new group of Titans. Robin again resumed leadership, and moved out of the shadow of the Batman. Robin realized at that point that he had grown up. He no longer relied on Batman and, in fact, he and the Dark Knight disagreed on crime-fighting methodology. He was able to prove himself as leader of the Teen Titans. He established himself as a strong hero in his own right.
Dick rediscovered his self-worth among the Teen Titans. Batman, however, was less than pleased. He informed Dick that if he no longer wanted to be his partner, then Dick would have to retire as Robin. Helping him through this difficult time was his fellow Titans, including Starfire, a beautiful alien Dick had fallen in love with. Dick handed over leadership of the Titans to Wonder Girl. Uncertain what to do, he turned to someone he knew would understand: Superman. Very briefly, Dick had considered giving up the whole crime fighting gig; but he couldn't imagine his life any other way. He had even imgained that someday he would be Batman. But if he couldn't be Robin, who would he be? Superman had the answer. Long ago on Krypton, a man was cast out by his family - just as Dick had been. He dreamed of a world ruled by justice, and set out to protect the helpless of Krypton. His true identity was never revealed. He was known only as Nightwing.
When all his teammates were captured by Deathstroke, the Terminator, and delivered to the H.I.V.E., Dick assumed the new identity of Nightwing and helped to free them, with the help of new ally (and future Titan), Jericho.
Nightwing had finally moved out of the shadow of the Bat, and would lead the Titans through some hard times. Dick endured brainwashing at the hands of Brother Blood, his relationship with Starfire would suffer due to her marriage of state, he would be deeply affected by the fact that Batman trained a new Robin (Jason Todd) only for him to be killed at the hands of the Joker.
Feeling hurt and betrayed, Bruce and Dick would remain at odds with each other, never fully sorting out their strained relationship. Dick was involved in a case with Batman and Two-Face when Tim Drake emerged, who would later become the third Robin. Dick nurtured and supported Tim's desire to become Robin, and helped ease him into the role. Dick also has helped Tim in dealing with Bruce's distant manner.
Soon after, various members of the Titans were abducted by the Wildebeest Society. This event shook up the team in a big way. The group entered into tumultuous times, where members came and went, longtime friends were maimed or destroyed, although Dick persevered through it all, and remained the heart and center of the team.
But his relationship with Starfire became strained, and problems in Gotham demanded Dick's attention. Impulsively, Dick proposed marriage to Starfire. The two almost wed, by the ceremony was interrupted by the dark incarnation of their former team mate, Raven. Her brutal attack on Starfire triggered changes in Dick and Kory's relationship. Starfire is implanted with a Raven "seed" which causes her to leave Earth and go on a spiritual journey. The two grew apart, and Starfire eventually returned to her home planet of Tamaran.
Meanwhile, in Gotham, Bruce Wayne had left the mantle of Batman to the unstable Jean Paul Valley. Dick intervened with new Robin Tim Drake, and when Bruce returned to Gotham, he brought Valley down and reassumed the mantle of Batman. When Dick returned to the Titans, he found there to be changes. The government interceded, placing Arsenal as leader of the team. Dick stepped aside and left the Titans, concentrating on problems in Gotham City. Still recovering from his broken back, Bruce asked Dick to substitute for him as Batman for a time. Dick accepted. During this time, Dick was able to confront Two-Face and lay some demons to rest. He also established a wonderful partnership with new Robin, Tim Drake. Bruce eventually returned to Gotham to reclaim his role as Batman. For the first time in a long time, Bruce and Dick began to heal their strained relationship. Bruce's respect for Dick was at last obvious.
Soon after, a problem arose in Gotham's neighboring town of Bludhaven. Twenty-one bodies washed upstream into Gotham, drawing attention to the fact that Bludhaven was just as crime-ridden as Gotham - possibly worse! Nightwing investigated the crimes at Batman's behest. Once that case was solved, Dick decided to stay in Bludhaven, and become its protector. He took a job as a bartender to keep his ear to the ground and works closely with Barbara Gordon(Oracle) in an effort to clean up the crime-ridden city. Since arriving,Nightwing discovered that the police force was utterly corrupt and the town's kingpin, Blockbuster, has contributed to the continued decay of the city.
A galactic threat came to earth, reuniting former members of the Titans. After this adventure, the group decided to reform, with Dick returning to the role of leader. Now Dick divides his time between Bludhaven and his duties as Titans' leader. In Bludhaven, Dick has joined the police force in efforts to rid the city of it's corruption from the inside.
Meanwhile, Dick Grayson and Barbara Gordon's once flirtatious relationship threatened to blossom into something more. When Gotham was quarantined from the rest of the United States and became a virtual No Man's Land, Nightwing was sent to secure Blackgate Prison. Exhausted and injured from his experience at Blackgate Prison, Dick recuperated at Barbra's clocktower, and the two grew even closer. Finally expressing their feelings for each other, Dick and Barbara entered into a romantic relationship.
In order to help the system from the inside, Dick Grayson soon joined the Bludhaven Police Force, in which his life as a vigilante helped making him a recognized officer of the law.
When a rogue Superman android killed Lilith and Troia, it tore apart both Young Justice and the Titans. At Troia's funeral, Nightwing declared to Arsenal that he is tired as seeing friends die and the Titans are officially over. A few months later, Arsenal persuaded the reluctant Nightwing to join a new proactive crimefighting team: Outsiders.
Meanwhile, Blockbuster's vengeance campaign escalated as he wrongfully blamed Nightwing for the death of his mother. The criminal kingpin bombed Dick Grayson's apartment complex, killing most of its residents, including Dick's Romanian grandfather. Dick was also forced to resign from his job with the BPD when his captain discovered his secret. The war was now more personal than ever, as far as Nightwing was concerned. Nightwing even enlisted the help of Bludhaven's newest vigilante - the amoral female Tarantula. Dick's relationship with Barbara also dissolved after she grew increasingly concerned about how far the driven hero had been pushing himself..
Every attempt to bring in Blockbuster legally failed. Blockbuster had beaten down Nightwing both physically and emotionally. When an exhausted Nightwing confronted Blockbuster, he was at his lowest ebb. The timely arrival of Tarantula turned the tide; She shot Blockbuster dead at point blank range as Nightwing failed to stop her. Nightwing's inaction has became a source of tremendous guilt for the young hero. But Blockbuster's death ended his stranglehold over Bludhaven once and for all.
It was soon after the Gotham Gang War occured thanks to Spoiler stealing one of Batman's contingency plans. Both Tarantula and broken-heart Nightwing went to Gotham to help, though Nightwing was slowly falling apart due to the guilt he felt. After being getting shot by the GCPD, Nightwing was sidelined and made the decision to turn himself and Tarantutula into the police.
Tarantual tried to escape, but Dick Grayson forcefully brought her in and they both confessed. Tarantutal was tried with a life sentence for Blockbuster's murder, but Dick was let go, in part to his former Captain, who even asked Dick to return to the force as a Detective. Dick rejected the offer, and has since then immersed himself completely into his roll as Nightwing.
Where his life will lead him has yet to be decided.
