Bet you'll never guess what! You won't beleive it in a thousand years! But I don't know either of the two well, (besides the little I know about Galactus from the Fantastic Four and Silver Surfer cartoon) so I'll have to wait a bit to cast my vote. And if I find a micro for the Sun Eater I'll post it, would say that I'd make a micro if I found a pic but I don't have the time lately so he might actually be *gasp* Microless!

Honestly, I'm never sure I can make that great of a decision between them. See where Galactus is considered one of the two most powerful entities in the Marvel universe and has been shown time and again why, the Sun-Eater from DC was only shown in one storyline. Sure he ate the sun, but aside from that we don't exactly have a great deal to go off of.

So I guess Galactus gets my vote.

Galactus gets my vote too seeing as he's also inherintly connected to the universe. His death is the universe's death and vice versa. Which...although in Marvel Vs. DC the stipulation was to restrain the other guy...still...thats pretty damn impressive.

Actually, Sun Eater was a pre-crisis Legion foe. It almost destroyed Earth's sun, but was stopped when Ferro Lad flew some kind of bomb or something designed by Brainiac 5 into the sun, sacraficing himself to save Earth and the Legion. He was the first Legionnaire ever to die (I believe that the pre-Crisis Invisible Kid was the second).

I voted for Sun Eater on this one. It destroys entire solar systems in one gulp, survives nova blsts, and can absorb any energy directed at it. The only real downside is that it is non-sentient. The Sun Eater is, for all intents and purposes, a natural phenomenon.

Oh, and in the pre-crisis world, there was more than one sun eater. They were just extremely rare. I don't know if this is still the case post-crisis and post-zero hour.

Oh, and since when is Galactus one of the two mopst powerful entities in the Marvel Universe? I admit my knowledge of marvel is somewhat limited, but I would have thought that Eternity, the Living Tribunal, Chronos, Infinity, Death, Order/Chaos, Love/Hate and the other cosmic beings would generally trump him. I always saw Galactus as being extremely powerful by Earth standards, but only middle of the road compared to cosmic beings, like the brigade that Adam Warlock set up in Infinity Gauntlet.

Shinobi - May 4, 2005 07:04 PM (GMT)
*Shrug* my knowledge of Galactus as a whole is limited but I remember something about the creater saying that they wanted a foe for the Fantastic Four that was more or less 'god'

Robin - May 4, 2005 10:46 PM (GMT)
Galactus is said to have more power than all those guys, but he doesn't use it because there is no point to it. He knows nothing can stop his power. But the most dangerous and most powerful beings that the universe fears in Marvel is Galactus and Dark Phoenix. They're the only creature that entire universes hear are coming and collectively wet themselves.

And Post-Crisis DC, the Sun-Eater has only been shown in one storyline. Aside from that no one know the full extent of this version's powers.

NutiketAiel - May 4, 2005 10:52 PM (GMT)
It was sort of shown in a post-zero hour Legion storyline before the Final Night crisis came about. The evil UP President Chu faked an impending Sun Eater attack to bring together the Fatal Five and trap the Legion. So, it at least got mentioned.

Robin - May 4, 2005 10:59 PM (GMT)
True. Its just hard to know what the level of a character is when they've been re-booted so many times and had things changed.

Marx - May 17, 2005 07:54 PM (GMT)
And so Galactus is all. "Ha ha you don't even have a micro! You suuuuuck!" To which the Sun Eater's reply was "Nuh uuuuuh!" And Galactus "Yuh huuuuuuh!" And Sun Eater "Nuh uuuuh!" And Galactus, "Yuh huh infinity!" And Sun Eater, "Nuh uh infinity +1!" And Galactus, "You can't add +1 to an infinity, it goes on forever so technically whoever says it first wins so begone!" And so the fight ended.
