Occupation: Legionnaire (yes, that's a full time job), scientist, inventor
Team Affiliation: The Legion of Super Heroes, 31st Century; Young Justice, 21st Century
Known Relatives: Parents were important Earthgov diplomats, but they were never around; raised as a surrogate child by the Foccarts.
Powers: Turn Invisible, turn others invisible by touching them. Flight, by use of a Legion Flight Ring (standard Legion issue, his design). Space travel through use of a transuit (standard Legion issue). Ability to translate just about any language through universal translator in flight ring and telepathic earplugs (again, standard Legion issue). Also a skilled Biochemist and physicist, second in intelligence among Legion members only to Brainiac 5. Skilled at hand to hand combat and investigative techniques.
Weaknesses: Well, he's been pretty tormented by the apparent death of his surrogate brother, Jacques Focart, years ago when Jacques was forced to drink Lyle's invisibility serum and reacted badly to it; he has since learned that his friend is still alive, but doesn't know that Earthgov won't let Jacques contact Lyle. As far as weaknesses in his powers go, they just make him invisible. He can still be heard, smelled, felt, detected by heat sensors, detected telemathically or empathically, etc. Finally, he is a normal human and is subject to injury, illness and death.
Weapons, Gadgets, Miscellany: Legion Flight Ring, Legion transuit (a spacesuit that allows full use of powers and that can be donned in seconds), telepathic earplugs (communication/translation devices), omnicom (portable 31st century computer), assorted 31st century medical supplies, groovy headband.
History: Lyle, a child prodigy, was born to two career diplomats working for Earthgov. However, because they were pretty much never around, he was raised by the Foccarts. Mrs. Foccart was a skilled chemist who awakened the boy genius's love of science. he became best friends with their son, Jacques Foccart. As a young man, he developed a serum that allowed him to turn invisible (in addition to several new flavors of ice cream to which he still holds the patents). Using this talent, he and Jacques joined Earthgov's intelligence service, the Black Hole. This employment made Lyle a very rich young man indeedm, though the price was very high- after a time working for Earthgov, Jacques was forced by one of their coworkers to steal and drink Lyle's serum, which apparently killed him. Because he continued to work for Earthgov, he was drafted to become Earth's representative in the Legion when it was formed.
As Invisible Kid, he was extremely useful to the Legion from the start (and not just because he could translate Durlan for their non-interlac speaking member, Chameleon). Although not as smart as Coluan Querl Dox, AKA Brainiac 5, Lyle was extremely imaginitive with his genius and also posessed a remarkable eye for practical development, as opposed to Brainy's obsession with theory. For example, Lyle used the discarded waste from a failed hyperdense experiment of Brainy's to invent the Legion Flight Rings. He also formed and served as leader of the Legion Espionage Squad. Through his efforts, and those of his squad, it was revealed that UP President Chu was responsible for assembling Legion foes the Fatal Five and starting an ongoing war between Braal and Titan, all for her own political gain.
Lyle was elected Legion leader when Cosmic Boy and a number of other Legionairres were stranded in the 20th century and continued in this capacity after their return before resigning for personal reasons and turning leadership of the team over to Saturn Girl. He has remained active with the legion ever since them, including working with Cosmic Boy's Subterfuge legion after UP President McCauley disbanded what remained of the Legion following the Great Rift Disaster.
While investigating a disturbance in Earth space that was in dangerous proximity to Robotica (formerly known as Pluto) with a team of Legionnaires, Lyle was inexplicably thrown to 21st century Metropolis. Lyle has been unable to determine the exact nature of the phenomenon that sent him back to the 21st Century, but he has a strong suspicion that it was not a natural event, and that it was targeted at him specifically. Upon discovering himself to be in the 21st century, Lyle contacted Oracle for assistance. As a result of this contact, he was drafted in to assist a team of young heroes with a budding crisis involving a supremely powerful, albeit unstable, child, and a group of missing Titans. Lyle assisted in this battle, suffering serious injuries from a shockwave and explosion he created to stop a tsunami. Although Raven was able to heal him enough to recover fully, Lyle was left hairless for months, and several pieces of vital and irreplacable 31st century technology were damaged or destroyed. In the aftermath of the battle, the group of young heroes who had banded together to rescue the Teen Titans decided to form their own team, Young Justice, under the leadership of Falcon (once she acceeded, anyway). Also during this period, Lyle and Falcon had an encounter with each other that left both of them confused. (See story

In their first official mission as a team, Young Justice thwarts the efforts of the mysterious Deviants to obtain top secret information on Earth's superheroes. Lyle was on monitor duty when the crisis first manifested itself, and comported himself well during the battle. After the crisis, Invisible Kid shows the new members of Young Justice their quarters. In the time leading up to Christmas Lyle, feeling lonely, goes through great trouble to assemble christmas presents for his friends and teammates. He breaks into Falcon's appartment (the address to which he got from Oracle) to deliver her present so she will be surprised. He is interupted in this enterprise by Falcon and her boyfriend, Vic. After he and Vic stop attacking each other (each having taken the other for a thief), Lyle's hopes of a romantic relationship with Falcon are crushed. he leaves the presents and heads up into orbit for some time alone. After that battle, Lyle joined his teammates and the Titans for what should hopefully prove to be a relaxing luau. It's a party with over a dozen superheroes in attendance; what could possibly happen? (See story

Lyle is most worried at the moment about the fact that he is still in the 21st century. Although he is doing everything he can to assemble the components necessary to create a machine to contact the Legion in the 31st century, he is confused about why they haven't simply brought him back themselves. After all, they have the technology to travel through time. He is concerned that something might have happened to them shortly after he left, or that something is preventing them from travelling back to the 21st century to rescue him.
