Well, here we go, again. I have hardly done anything yet, but for now, this will have to do. Over the course or the next few weeks I plan to get the board up to speed. First thing on my list is configuring all the settings in the Admin CP, so don't complain over settings until I post that I'm done with settings.

For now, feel free to discuss anything in this general area. Oh, and I will most likely be getting a new skin, so don't worry if you hate this one.

Ah.. good old Invision, I don't know which # I am, but I'm the 4th to reply here. I personally am glad we moved back here, proboards didn't give us any extra protection from deletion or crashing, apparently.

The best part is, 3 ZE's ago, I started saving my bio and updating it offline everytime I updated it online... no change at all.

I started saving mine to at least 3 zi's ago as well. But last time around my boi was too long to post so now I the long version and "Shadow Khan Lite low carb" version!LOL

Yeah.. Invision allows more in a post... Luckily.

I decided to do this:

Timeline of ZE
1. Proboards ZE started existed fine and gain a lot of members (I wasn't around then)
2. Eventually as far as I know, it moves to Invision boards, which was more advanced. Even more members joined. Including myself, I always liked to believe that my arrival seemed to make the König Wolf more popular (I'm telling you no one even mentioned using it when I first joined, I did, now everyone does!)
3. War rpg eventually dies, then one fateful day VZ accidently deleted the entire board. I dub it, the Big crash of ZE. Sometime after this is when Duowolf pretty much left because of family matter I believe
4. I am pretty sure despite all the havoc that ZE was restored in Invision and got working again, however something then crashed it again, it wasn't VZ himself who did it though, but he could have prevented it. (No blame on you VZ/DT if you ever see this[Seph says he checks in once and a while]) I dubbed this the Second Crash
5. After this ZE was moved to Vbulletin. It worked for a while but alas this begins a dark era in the history, the n00b rush.... N00bs everywhere! Everyday! Eventually VZ, who was DT then, got fed ep and made the no rule week, however a bad idea, soon ZE was shut down and cleaned out, plus this rpg applications began and ZE did better for the time but there were still problems. One Day DT said we had an hour to back everything we wanted up and then he shut ZE down, this was marked the day ZE offically died
6. Pretty much ZE's rebirth, in proboards, like it began, older members like DarkSpiner and Callis returned. It the the most stable ZE had been since the early Invision days. Up till today. As it mysteriously was deleted.. well the forums anyway. Supposed to be a hacker.
7. Today, Ze's return to Invision, but in the form of InvisionFree, only the future holds what will become.

The End.... I was so bored that I wrote all that.... Oh well, if anyone find anything wrong with the event, go ahead and note them.

Yeah i came in around #3 because i remeber Duowolf though i never partook in the war. That was when i only hung around in the "general" and model sections. Then i discovered "quests' and the rpg... :D

After I joined, got a nice welcome, and my soul stolen (remember, I didn't always do that) I decided to join the rpg right away, I wanted to do the battling. No applications then, but they had the bad rules up when I started. Bad as in no one really liked it all that much. To use a KW without CPs I had to win 10 battles with a Command Wolf... but I never accually battles before Duowolf decided to change those rules and opted for the Advanced/Basic/Blox zoid rules. Which more or less are the same ones we use today, though Ramirez has modified them, IMO for the better.

Seph and I are talking on AIM about that, he is saying it would be nice to have Duo back, I agree. He says she balanced out all the guys.. too much testosterone, lol.

Yeah, then there is that, in ZE's early days there were way less rules... but that needed to be changed when people were suffocating everytime Seph and DS were around due to their massive über egos.

I remember when the customs got out of control. The ueber-Zoids, man...*gets all nostalgic for the Royal Cups of old* There was the one Rocke almost won by accident...and the one Seph won, I think with some ueber-Breaker...and Steve's giant Fury, which I still think was funny...

Yes, the ever infamous Raging Fury... Steve got soooo many glares for that. Especially from me, DS had to end the Royal Cup and restart it with him out of it, it went better then.

No.. like last time returning members are already tended too. Only the newbies get them stolen.

Not meaning to interrupt the flow of anyone's conversation here, but I do have a serious question.

I certainly haven't been with ZE from the beginning, far from it, in fact. However, in the time since I first registered with any incarnation of the forums, I've seen the entire contents of the board lost at least 3 times.

Keeping that history in mind, back-ups would seem to be very important for this forum. I don't know anything about the structure of Invision, but my question is this: Can admins of the board make backup copies to be saved on the computer of their choice?

Without redundant, or at least alternating back-ups of the board data, I expect history will repeat itself.

Backups can me made, that was the mistake on the first crash.. no backups... they didn't seem to help though by the second crash.

They can be made on regular Invision, but not InvisionFree. I believe IF may actually automatically backup the servers once in a while, but I'd probably have to go through a lot of trouble to have them restore it if it's wiped again.

Yes, I love Invision too. Look at what I can do to the rules with it! You can access them from any page by clicking "Board Rules" up in the top left corner, or by going to the "Board Rules" forum.

Plus, as hinted at in the rules, I can now have a better rules system because of the warning system. And it looks much nicer to, and you even find some really good skins for IF. You can even find hacks (Not really, but extra snippets of code), like a gender one that I'm considering.

Hatch: I think I remember seeing something about a news fader in the IF support boards where got the IFArcade (see newest announcement) from. I can go back and check. They also have many skins which I can look at.
