I've never been banned from a forum before. This has been the only forum I ever visited, until recently... I just registered with Pheno's forum and the Zoids GC forum.

I DID harass some Zoid forum a while ago, but that was... awhiel ago. I don't think it was MMM. I'm pretty sure it wasn't. Eh, they have cocky little bratty kids there anyways. With their stupid unofficial mods and blah... I hated most of the people there who I read posts from when I visited a few months ago. Yeah, he does, should be able to give you some insight. It's a good site, but there's a lot of people who have had bad experiences, and ZE had a bit of trouble at the first proboards. Was mainly one of our members faults.. But still.
Never been banned, but I've been warned twice for arguing with an admin. He was wrong though, so I can live with it. Got abit of a laught out of it actually.

The only board I've gotten banned from, was Malakym's during the stage when anti-DT was the biggest thing around. I really only joined to back up DT (And I did it well, actually managed to calm her and the board down some), but one of her admins (Who REALLY hated DT, I guess) banned me without even giving me a chance. I made a new account, my first one was unbanned, second was banned by the same person, second was unbanned, and that Admin finally cooled down...

Geeze, Lycan, I just looked at the backup MMM board (I've actually been wanting to make an account just to spy on the old one, now's the perfect opporitunity since I don't have to join) and man, it disgusts me. Paris said the reason for this ban is because "You were banned before," but geeze, it's a new board, everyone has to start over, you even said you wanted to have a fresh start, and didn't even do anything REMOTELY troubling.

Then there's that Halo 2 vs Killzone topic. Everybody's saying Halo 2 is the best thing ever, WHEN IT'S NOT EVEN OUT YET! How can you say something is so great if the most you've played is maybe a demo (I don't even think they HAVE Halo 2 demos out!)!

And in this footlock topic in Q&A, someone asked something about two Zoids standing back to back, lock down footlocks, and do something which creates a backwards force or something (not quite sure what the person was getting at) and what would happen. A green named person (don't know what that means) called Goji (Who I believe I've actually seen before, I believe even here at ZE, but maybe it was GC or GFAQS, can't remember) sayed something along the lines of "The two pilots would deserve to die." That's just, not right. You're saying just because two people would do something like that, even if it is supposidly stupid, they deserve to die? Maybe it's just me, but that's just wrong. Or maybe it was a joke and I took it a little to harshly...

I'm actually glad I didn't see any of their battles, after seeing the rest of the board.

As for me being banned ofr being previously banned. I guess that was the site I was bad in, but come one. It's all new, nothing is from before since the idiots never took the time to back it up. They could at least let things start over as new. Considering I haven't done anything to piss them off as of late.

And I have never seen a Halo 2 demo. Never as in me being someone who is vigorously hunting it down once it comes out. No dems that I have seen or heard of. They are fools. Saying Halo 2 is better. For all we know, it could such. Commercials can make anything look good. Magazine rating for it are only absed on opinion.

Oh, I read a few AIm battles that were there when I was there. What jokes.. These people have someone judging them and they still have no RPGing skills. it's absically the judge saying what happened, the pilots have no say in the ones i read. It's really rather disappointing.

Eh. MMM have a good site and forum for them, doesn't mean everyone agrees. They actually were kind to us recently, so don't go saying crap if it's unneeded in the future, we don't want a forum war.

I have banned a few times from a board. Once at ZE, bullsh*t excuse though and five times and three other different boards just because I was right, and they were wrong.

Lycan, link to Ferrum. Kaigeta is redoing the RPG so its dead at the moment. Kinda reminds you of Daedalus and his war part of this board. But I have seen the rules during a 'party' and they look good. Not too complicated either and possibly foolproof explanations, but if something is foolproof, there are going to be 'better' idiots and fools.

The only thing that I hate is the maturity of board of a few members, and checking out the presidentual board pretty much gives you an idea. Wooo! All the super-mods and mods are de-modded including me, but Neph. Must be the IRC part. And no Konig Warrior, everyone WAS deleted, but thanks to Steel we are not now. :)

Besides the bad reputation of MMM that it shows and their actions. Its still a board to respect. Not all of them are asses, people like tarsus*Hetman Fell from the Short Bus, The Thorn, Arthos Omega are alright people so MMM should deserve some respect because not everyone is an ass, maybe a selected few. But from the way Lycan is saying it, all of them are plain and simply bad.

Lycan, if I recall correctly you were banned for making highly inappropriate, distasteful, and disrespectful remarks. And you were warned to stop. Being what the site's gone through, Al didn't want a troublemaker on the backup. I suspect that's why you were so unceremoniously banned.

I've got a headache and I'm doing homework, so I'm already irritated and I'm just not going to go bite back for all what you said because it'd just be childish, but ... jesus. As Illidan said, the whole forums have been lost and that's RATHER devastating to the players. Players including me. Using the opportunity while the community's down to kick it is not nice.

Foreword: Apologies for incoherence. I was already in a foul mood, and this only worsened it.

You were banned for your first run at MMM, which included the following offenses:

1) Calling Staffers idiots and vehemently disagreeing with them about how things should work even when they clearly stated the rules of the game on several occasions, simply because you didn`t like how things were.

2) Calling the game stupid and then saying you`d kick several people`s asses(I believe. I`m not sure on the kick-some-asses part).

3) Attempting to defy the ban twice afterward with socko accounts(Lycan and one other than I don`t recall at the moment).

As for the forums going down...

Steve: You`ve carried a grudge with MMM since before I even registered at the previous forum, and all because you say that you thought the info on the site was official at the time.

Get. Over. It. It`s pathetic that you`ve held a grudge this long over something so small and insignificant. Furthermore, we do not ban people left and right like it`s going out of style. As a matter of fact, there have only been about nine bannings in the entire year-and-some-months that I`ve been there, and that`s probably too many compared to the real number.

The most recent bannings were LycanWolfBlade, who was banned on the previous boards for offenses that I just mentioned. I don`t know why Pierce was banned, and there was also a guy named Burning who was banned for posting pictures of a hanged black man, among other decidedly nasty things. We would`ve sought legal action against him if it wasn`t for the boards crashing, and I believe one of our staff members still might. Aside from that, the only person who springs to mind is Raven Claw or Crow or something or other, who was banned anyway for trying to distort his record at MMM to say he was an ace when he had only ever won something like two or three battles.

Suffice to say, I fail to see evidence that we`ve been heavy handed about banning people left and right like you`ve been told, Steve.

Capitila: Read what I just posted. With regards to Goji, however, I`ll say this much: He`s not a very lighthearted person. At times, he says things that he doesn`t mean, and he does things in a similar fashion. He also doesn`t take pilot stupidity very lightly either, and tends to get pissed at it very easily at times. Thankfully, and to his credit, he`s mellowed out a good bit since that statement.

And again to Lycan: A new start, yes. But one without someone who was banned for being an outright asshole on the original boards. You dug your own grave, we simply buried you in it. Your attitude has also not improved since then, as your own comments in this thread("What jokes") certainly indicates. As for the AIM battles?

1) We have a Judge system because it works. It keeps arguements to a minimum and our Judges do their absolute best to be as unbiased as possible.

2) AIM battles are not for RPing. If you wanted to see RP in battle, you should`ve looked at some of the better arena battles.

3) Pilots do have some say, but if they had too much, everyone would contest a loss and nobody would ever actually win a damned thing.

And for the record, Lycan: I pushed heavily for your first ban. In fact, I was the single most vocal supporter of it in staff. Upon seeing your behavior in this thread, I have absolutely no regrets about it.

Oh, and I have been banned once before. From Zoid's Evolution's, on the ground's that I was an MMM pilot. Which ironically enough, I wasn't at the time.

I'd like to get over it, but you have no idea how many battle scenes I had to completely re-write because I relied on MMM's data. Hell, "Raven's revival" went completely kaput after I found out the Spiner had no CPC. >_< I know it's "tailored for the RPG" and such, but come on... some of the data, tailored or not, is just wrong. Dark Spiners have no CPCs. Jaegers can't go 1000+ kph. Gun Sniper LS's can use their tailguns. The Fire Phoenix's missile isn't a "Firestorm missile". The Gojulas Giga's buster cannons fire shells, not beams. And the Geno Breaker has weaknesses, very blatent ones in fact. I could write a freakin' list of them.

MMM is an extremely popular site... you guys could at least fix some of your data... and I know you guys didn't invent the CPCing spiner thing and stuff, but keeping the in-accurate data around doesn't help.

I never ban without reason- I've been an admin/supermod with banning powers (Yes, it is possible on the right kind of boards) on several boards in my internet life of about 5 years, and I have only banned 4 people- one of them was Lycan for reasons already stated by Sh33p, and the other 3 were a group of people who decided to spam a board I went to with Goatse.

Let's see. We are allowing amnesty to people who have been banned and were previously registered pilots- meaning people like Raven Claw (who was banned for record falsification of his team's record, AFTER several stern warnings of record falsification of his personal record, and AFTER using said records to try and bully staff and new pilots alike... and also trying to delete his forums and such to hide the evidence) could actually get a second start because for a time they actually were participating members of the RPG. Many ex-pilots try like hell to get back in, and we thought that with the board down like it was it was time to offer amnesty to them, but ONLY them. We've had too many civilians just register and get banned within the first 50 posts or so... like you.

I seemed to recall your posts as not only asinine, but absolutely infuriating; then registering several extra names to try and avoid the ban? Bull. I don't want a person known for doing that in the boards. If you were an ex-pilot, perhaps. I see that you tried to go for the sympathy vote amongst this board by saying "I've been banned before from a board but I don't think it was MMM" when I'm pretty dang sure you know it was MMM. You want to know unfair bannings? Too bad you were never around for someplace like Otaku Haven two years ago, when you could be banned if you simply posted a fanfic that the admin didn't like. Believe me, it happened. I do NOT ban without reason and I certainly had one.

I have enough troubles when suddenly the little backup board that I ran just for the amusement and information dispersal for our members suddenly becomes the absolute main forum. Is it bare now? Yes. But keep in mind we have over 2 years of info on those old, PAID FOR boards. Now we're on a free one. I'd also like to mention that our incompetent server people decided to put the backups on the same server as our regular board... so we had backups, but they're erased. We do have a very old one but it's too outdated right now to use as the basis for our boards.

After dealing with BurningSkul45 (formerly Leoking) posting pictures of hanged black men, Tubgirl, obscene pornography, and other thing on a board full of people mostly underage, I'm not in the mood to deal with that from people whose only connection with the RPG was to bash it. We have other things to worry about. Especially considering at that time I did NOT have banning power on that board- I was a supermod on the regular board, and I am only an admin now because I SET UP the backup board.

I'd like to take this moment to encourage people to realize that a lot of changes have occurred to MMM, and many of the things that you hear about us are not only unfair but they've been specifically warped. I've only known of 2 or 3 bans that should not have been done, and that was before I even became a staffmember of the RPG, so I'm sure I never got the full information.

In finality- the number of undeserved bans that I can think of in the past 6 months alone is so low it might as well be 0, statistically. We don't ban people left and right, like Sh33p said; we only do that when there's a site-wide outcry for it. Even when emotions get the best of us, we have reversed bans before- like during the whole piracy episode. Many of the people involved in that episode are on the backup boards right now as we speak.




To all MMM-bashers- All I can say is, if you haven't registered before and not been on the site and known what was going on instead of superficial lurking, or you HAVE registered and only posted all of 10-20 times before leaving in a huff or getting yourself banned, I don't think you have had anything to base your bashing on.

The permission data was on the old board, but it was received by our first admin, I'm pretty sure of that. It was a long time ago and it was buried in the data but it was there. They predated my time on site.

Steve, if the information was accurate then it wouldn't fit the RPG. Simple as that. Or to explain it another way, let me aska question: Have you ever played a table-top RPG? If you have then you should know that there's a large difference between the actual information and rules and what really happens; this is called making house rules. MMM has done that, no more, no less. And many changes are probably done for the sake of game-balance. I've been RPing longer than than all but one or two people here and I'll tell you that MMM has one of the best created RPGs I've seen that wasn't done by a major company. Sometimes accuracy has to be second to balance in a game otherwise the game won't work.

I used to think MMM had official info. Hell, I started to use it in some fics I was writing. Then I realized that it wasn't official. Oh well, so it's not. Who cares? The creators of MMM wanted to make their RPG different from all the others and one of the ways they did that was to make custom modifications to the info. Have they ever claimed it as official? No. Is it their responsibility to keep people from making that mistake? No.

As for the data being "wrong"; define wrong? It means incorrect, yes, but for MMM and its RPG the information isn't wrong at all. To them ZE's information or FB's information is wrong. It's all relative. As for the specific examples....well the Jaeger was an upgrade of the original so there's nothing wrong there; the Spiner could easily be modified; and the Gunsniper is concievably too front-heavy to be able to use the sniper rifle. Simple as that. As for your fics, ever heard of something called creative liscense? Just because it's not "correct" doesn't mean you can't use it. Think of an explaination, try and find a way to make things work they way you want them too.

With all due respect, Steve, this is your fault, not ours. Even if there isn`t some honking disclaimer to alert people, nowhere do we claim that our data is official. If you want to be angry at someone over it, take it out on yourself, because this MMM bashing of yours is getting real old, real quick. It does nothing but annoy people and incite a few supporters who either don`t know any better or simply hate us to begin with.
