Title: Total Drawing Block
Description: I just dont know what to do...

Kirbymaster212 - November 18, 2004 02:54 AM (GMT)
Im having a drawing block... I cant come up with anything I like... nothing I draw seems good to me or there is something about it I feel like I cant do... I have no ideas for drawing... something tells me I subconciously want to draw a really good dragon because I have been doodling them (none of them are really good but...) yeah... so what should I do?!?!

Fg-Dark_Monk - November 18, 2004 02:56 AM (GMT)
DRAW A MONKEY! A huge fricken monkey, somthing to make a block of cheese proud!

I agree whole hearted-ly. I'd like to see a Monk(ey) in a Mink. Draw that, with a block of cheese and a roasted chicken making a critique of the drawing.

Draw your impressions of each member of ZE... that would kill your boredness. *nods* :)

The Zombie - November 18, 2004 01:44 PM (GMT)
I can only imagine what yours would be of me Forte...

Practice drawing dragons and then draw a masterpiece XD

Just start doodling something stupid, doesn't have to be good, just something to amuse you at the time. Then you can go back over it and improve it if need be. Just draw something that'll entertain you.

Agreed. If you need an idea.. just take my impressions of each person of ZE thing... that or draw a ZE comic that FuZNist started...

Edit:

@13: If you really wanted to know.... I honestly don't have one.

Practice makes perfect. Simple as that.

whee! Artsy talk~

Drawing blocks SUCK majorly. But ya gotta push yourself through 'em.

Force yourself to draw, even if you hate it. It doesn't matter. You're basically just waiting for something to click, ne?

Draw stuff that doesn't require imagination. Meaning observational drawing. Draw a chair, or fruit, whatever. Drawing from observation is good practice and something that you can get lost in if ya just focus, turn on some music, and sketch. Don't worry about perfection. Practice, learn from mistakes.

In way of getting back into the swing of things, look for inspiration. Try to find something that inspires your creative mood. Whether it be music, a book, a show, a game, other art, whatever lies under the sun (or above I guess). Inspiration is a key step towards arting.

Annnnd one of the best tips for drawing that I first heard from the creator of "its happy bunny" - Sometimes you have to get out the bad drawings to get out the good.

I hope this helps. o_o Blocks are evil. *glares at creative blocks*

Feed your art muse music and draw whatever randomness it comes up with as a result. I find stuff like Eric Clapton, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, and Jimi Hendrix most effective. Anything with fun guitar, really.

Draw a dragon looking zoids. Period.

The Zombie - December 14, 2004 03:29 PM (GMT)
I hate drawing blocks... especially when your making a manga...

Mirai-LD - December 14, 2004 09:44 PM (GMT)
I find the quickest way to get rid of a drawing block is to drown yourself with music and just DRAW! XD It doesn't matter how crap it is, just keed drawing, and drawing, and soon you'll get the flow of it back.
