Title: Hosting Dilemma

ZeroFalcon - December 3, 2004 05:08 PM (GMT)
Umm, I currently have nowhere to host images, as I really don't want to violate the Photobucket TOS (I'm not 16+). Are there any alternatives?

Blade - December 3, 2004 05:21 PM (GMT)
You have to be 16+? Mehh...I'm 15 and I have one there (and there are others who are under 16 that have Photobucket and are under 16).

I believe Photobucket is the best choice you have for hosting images; most other image hosts charge you money.

Lie.

I can gurantee they won't find out.

You're better off going in Photobucket (and following what Guy said) since it's got tons of space; I am not familiar with the one you have, Fg... it seems like you can just upload w/e you want?

Hetman - December 3, 2004 11:51 PM (GMT)
I got my photobucket.com account when I was 14, and I haven't been caught. I'm 16 this year too. So, you should be safe. :D

Blade - December 4, 2004 12:49 AM (GMT)
They really don't have the time to check individuals' birthdates, and they cannot verify and sue someone for it; the best they can do is ban the IP....

At any rate, however, it is safe. You know why? You can lie about your age and no one will know XD

ZeroFalcon - December 4, 2004 12:52 AM (GMT)
Did it occour to you I might not want to lie about my age, regardless of whether or not they'll find out? It didn't? Well, make it occur to you. :P

Sir Maverick - December 4, 2004 12:59 AM (GMT)
If you want, I'll make an extra album on mine, and stick your stuff on it. I don't use it for much, so I'm not worried about space.

ZeroFalcon - December 4, 2004 01:23 AM (GMT)
I'd be much obliged if you would... I dont' need it quite as we speak... I've asked for some box pics on Pheno's, but haven't gotten any quite yet... I may also need fanbook scans... this is all for the Bestiary at this point, as I haven't bothered to ask somebody (or paid them off :P) to make me a sig banner... so, yeah... I have no idea what size the pics will be, but there will be at least 26 box pics and around 12-16 pages of fanbok scans at minimum when I'm through with my current bio write-ups.

Don't you have to pay for all new photobucket accounts now anyway? Eh, maybe not..
DT started a photograph uploading site, there's a link in advertisements.

Hetman - December 4, 2004 06:58 AM (GMT)
The problem is the image will only stay for 60 days... :\

Like Hetman said, it's only garunteed to stay for 60 days...

Actually, what it was with photobucket is that they were, IIRC, upgrading their servers, and were only accepting new free accounts between 11am and 1pm CST... but you can now sign up for free accounts anytime...

DueroTycoon - December 4, 2004 07:47 PM (GMT)
It's only guaranteed for 60 days, but I doubt I'll enforce it too well for a long time. I've got almost 3/4 terrabyte space left on the server that it's on. Don't worry, you'll be fine if you upload there.

ZeroFalcon - December 5, 2004 03:17 AM (GMT)
Hmm, if there's near 3/4 of a terrabyte left... and I'd prefer that over having to use someone else's Photbucket account... I'll use that instead, Mav. Thank's for the offer, though.

yeah...no age limit...not as great as Photobucket though...

No problem. The offer stands if needed. ((I actually already created the album for you before I read this post, so I'll just keep it there.))

Fg-Dark_Monk - December 5, 2004 09:31 PM (GMT)
The one i posted is for anything no account needed.

DueroTycoon - December 5, 2004 10:00 PM (GMT)
No account is needed on my service either, and a plus is that I'm constantly updating most of my sites, so they don't lose your interest.

ZeRoRaVeN - December 8, 2004 04:46 AM (GMT)
Weelll if you're willing you can use a regular host and do the work manuely which I'm sure you don't want to, but I'm curious do you NOT want to violate their TOS because it's moral or you simply don't want to get caught?

Well if you still want,
here's a list of image hosting sites.

That would be it.
