Title: Editing Colors
Illidan - January 7, 2005 04:52 AM (GMT)
I noticed a Mod having edited someone's post earlier. I fully agreed with the edit and would have done so myself, but..
it wasn't as easy as it could be to recognize that it was an edit, even though it said so in text. Is there a way to make edits by mods/admins and such colored like I've seen on other forums? Or just have an informal rule to make it in a color like red? Or heck, just maybe do it if you're a mod or admin? *scampers off*

As you undoubtedly know, it is possible to change the text color.
So yes, it is possible for mods to use a Color (Like Red/Blue) when editing someone else's post.
It was a very valid question, and I will bring it up in the Admin/Mod Discussion Forum
Thanks for the feedback.

Isn't the RPG mod section just for RPG related things, and not regarding the boards?
Whenever we edit posts it's usually added somewhere there, even if not highlighted with a colour. The reason for most edits is because someone does something they shouldn't of, so of course they should be made aware of what they've done wrong, but it's up to the individual how they choose to edit.
Doesn't really need to be done in a colour, but generally there should be a note left somewhere there.

I usually just put "edit by Tilly: blahblah"...I can put it in blue or something, if you want, although I'm forgetful.

Plus, red is far too threatening unless your warning them for something really bad. :P
Red is just a popular choice when you warn 'em and editting a post along with it. Its like the colour of 'authority' and its bright and easily noticable and usually means one thing... if it is editted. Honestly, I'll go for purple, but I don't think I will remember that. :D

When ever I tag a post for editing, its usually like
& Topic Moved
& Topic Closed
& I Have Spoken
& Post Edited
I know for one, when you type slash me, the username comes out red...
*HaTcH wants pie...
like that,
Well anyway, its not such a bad idea, but many of us already implement it!

I've always used --> Edit by Chaos Burheim: Blahblahblah... whenI have made edits in the RPG area.

Or you could be lazy and tell them off, and don't need who editting the post and click on 'Add the 'Edit by' line in this post?' depending on our powers... we might or might not have it.
Forte's godly words: Blah, blah, blah, dribble, dribble, dribble, slip, slop, slap and save your skin.
Forte's godly words: You have been burninated.
See. Just as effective. :D
... As long they don't touch the post. :\ (Which happens most of the time anyway. If it, thats where the 'Edit by' thingy comes into my book and SLAM!)

Trogdor the Burninator? =3
I never knew about the whole *Capitila thing, it's cool..
I usually just add a note down the bottom of the post, but I'll give into the trend of colours.. Maybe.
