I have a bunch of zoids files in the .mid format, now they used to play just fine(last I checked about a year ago, before I reinstalled my OS) usualy if Windows Media Player won't play it winamp will, but this time BOTH programs couldn't play it. So I wanted to see if it was the file or program, so I went poking around my compter on the "open with" menu, I saw itunes, I knew it doubled as a music player but that was the only player I had left. Guess what, it worked. (listen' to one right now)
But I don't like itunes! The only reason I have it was because it came with some other program, so I want to have either winamp or Windows Media Player, both are the newest versions, I think. So can someone help me fix my MID problem?
look for .mid codecs.
If that don't work...embrace iTunes...you'll have to.
Try this program:
http://mathcs.wilkes.edu/~hatchek/presto.zipIts called the Presto Midi Composer. You can actually open your midi files for editing! (or atleast just listen to em)
If all else fails, install a different (upgraded) version of WMP and uninstall, reinstall Winamp.
