A day and a half of bad luck, drivers that won't install and user names that wouldn't work and modems that didn't like me. But now I'm glad to say I have joined many of you in the wonderful world of broadband.
Ah, ADSL, On all the time, ability to use the phone at the same time, fast uploads, faster downloads, 20gig limit. I think I'm going to pass out.
On the down side, I got it going at 8.30pm on the last day of my school holidays. I was going to go to bed early so I can have a good nights sleep before school starts tomorrow.. But.. Well, maybe I'll stay up a bit later.
Anyway, what kind of connection do you have? Like it, hate it?

I use a modem. We got a free one when we joined the plan we're on, but had some trouble with it, so my sisters boyfriend gave me his old one, a keyboard, laser mouse, and 256mb or RAM (which unfortunately doesn't fit, so I'll give that back).
All in all, I'm happy, although the timing is a bit off.
Now all is left to do is cancel my dial-up. Eh.

Hah, I've got Cable. It's great, though the modem my mom is renting from Comcast isn't the greatest one ever (It's an RCA, I didn't even now they made cable modems :blink: )

w00T! I got cable, from the one and only RCN...only because of the package...but now meh cable ain't time warner...*sniff* I miss their cable box soooo much....it looked so cool....the wonderful digtal cable interface...it was slick..and now I've got ads on my TV guide! (the one where your press a little button and it comes up) <_<
*grumble* but RCN just "upped" their speed, but there're really scrimpy....10 meg email, and 10 meg storage space...wtf? chheeeaappp....

Still stuck on 56k dialup here, but I was at my college, downloaded a 101 meg trail version of PSP9 in about 3 minutes. That was SICK!
Howeve, good news, my mom continues to get more and more used to the high speed internet connection where she works, I think by the middle of this year we should have cable internet! slash me looks forward to the day

Still on dial-up like HaTcH, but with no sign of anything else anytime soon. YAY SLOW DOWNLOADS.
Unless you count that I'll be attempting to mooch off Bonnie's connection in March :p...
