Title: Full Screen to Window

K-62 - February 3, 2005 02:56 AM (GMT)
Does anyone know how to make a full screen game into a window?

I don't think its possible without running a second copy of your OS or a different OS in a window itself. Games are made to be full screen, I doubt theres any practical way to do it.

Perhaps you can find some dos program that can run an app inside its own fixed size window or shell, but I'm doubtin it.

Hmm...I see.

For certain games, like the Steam-games (HL-HL2), you can add a command line into the launch options...

maybe you can do that in the console of another game? Or in its options?

You can try putting -window into the command line/location of the .exe in the shortcut, but make sure you do it after the pair of " or it wont work.

but, I'm running linux so I can do anything XD

I dont like Linux. Well, not really just Linux hates me. I can never get it to do what i want.

You can't play many games in Linux, so really all it's useful for is media, internet, and word proccessing.

Really, I don't know why some people worship Linux as if it's better then anything else. And then they go and try to get other people to use it, even if that person wants to use their computer to GAME on...

That doesn't relate to you Illidian, though, moreso to my friend who wants me to use Linux on a new comptuer I want, even though it's going to be a gaming computer...

As for the original question, it probably depends on the game. Some might let you, others not. Try reading that games help files or ssupport section on it's website to see if they say anything.
