Title: new wish lists
Vega - February 4, 2005 12:39 AM (GMT)
Well the holiday season is long since over. It was a good year.
We witness the holy video game event that was the release of Halo 2,
we learned that its easy to avoid the police in GTA: San Andreas,
waded through the jungle in MGS3: Snake Eater,
and saved yet another world in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
but now that many of us video game fans have beaten or at least played some of these games whats next? Now that these giant hits have been released what else do we have to look forward to other than going for 100% on Prime or endless LAN parties with Halo?
Well I for one am really looking forward to Star Fox: Assault. I loved the N64 game and when I heard that the new one would be similar to Zelda I was a little disappointed (not that being like Zelda is bad, but it just isn't Fox). So when I read that SF: Assault would be released soon I was just as excited as when I got MP2. Can't wait to go head to head with Star Wolf in a dogfight.
The game I'm really looking forward to is actually Kingdom Hearts 2. I got the first one last year and was hooked. The game was incredibly, Disney characters and worlds with a Final Fantasy style storyline. So naturally I can't wait for the sequel. Didn't buy Chain of Memories for the GBA but I found the game script so I know whats going on...and its cool.
So, my fellow gamers, what games are you really hoping to get as soon as you can?

What do I want this year? Hmmm..... well my list will be short this time around. All I want is Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil, KotOR2, Star Wars Republic Commando, Tabula Rasa, Starship Troopers and Gran Turismo 4.

Lets see here,
Gamecube
-Legend of Zelda GCN
Nintendo DS
-Metroid Prime Hunters
-Animal Crossing
-Mario Kart DS
-Another Code
-Yoshi's Touch and Go
-Lost in Blue
-Need For Speed Underground 2
-Jam With the Band
-Polarium
-Warioware Touched!
-Pokemon Diamond/Pearl (if released in the US this year, they better be)
That's all the new ones coming out this year that I want. Geeze, I wonder what I'll be playing on most this year?
And once I upgrade my current computer, I also want to get Half-Life 2. Will cost about $200 for an additional 256MB of memory, Radeon 9600 XT, a slot fan for the XT as this damn Dell case only has one fan which is covered by a shroud and only cools the CPU, and the shipping (maybe a bit more). Plus then the $50 for the game itself, and that will make this one very expensive game. It's not really as if HL2 is ALL I want to upgrade for, though. There are other PC games I want as well that really need the performance boost from those $200, HL2 is just the one I want the most.

Rented Star Fox: Assault this weekend.
It has its good points and its bad.
Good:
Arwing controls nicely
Landmaster is more tank-like
Return of Star Wolf
Multi-player more balanced (pilots on foot can shoot down vehicles thanks to multiple weapons ex: Rocket Launcher, Machine Gun, Sniper Rifle)
vs. mode unlockables. (you can use Star Wolfs Wolfen ship)
you can select character in vs mode, each with strenghts and weaknesses, including Wolf
Bad:
Only 10 missions...total
real easy
running into objects isn't as damaging as it should be
single player gets old quick
Wolf overpowered in vs. mode, (only when on foot)
Star Wolf fights you once, then helps you in like 3 missions
not sure if I should buy it or leave it as a rental, my bro and me play vs. mode so I won't be limited to the 10 mission single player.
Still have to rent Godzilla: Save the Earth for PS2
oh and correct me if I'm wrong but isn't Pokemon Diamond/Pearl going to be a remake of Silver/Gold like Fire/Leaf was for Red/Blue?
btw, nintendo is rumored to be working on a real pokemon game for the GC, not another Stadium, but a real pokemon game, catching them and everything.
