Title: Sig Recheck!

JammerLea - May 30, 2005 08:09 PM (GMT)
Because I've been letting some people slide without saying anything, which isn't fair, I thought I'd bring this point up again.

Images in one's signature should not exceed 550x200 pixels width/height.

Originally I said that one could have either one large image or one row of smaller ones. However, as long as neither the combined height or the width of the images exceed the limit, that will be fine.

There are not many people with sig imagess wider than 550, but there are a handful with sig images higher than 200. Please check your sigs and change or resize them. I'll give you a couple days to do so (as I'll be busy the next couple days for school), then I'll start PMing those who have not fixed their sigs.

Thank you.

ZeRoRaVeN - May 30, 2005 08:53 PM (GMT)
I see so basicaly all of the images in your sig combined can't go over 550 x 200, ok that means my sig is fine.

The 10 lines of text also count empty lines right?

Too bad we can't have things like dynamic images or at the very least clickable images.

^Code for an image link. Whoever said you can't :P

ZeRoRaVeN - May 30, 2005 09:14 PM (GMT)
Oh cool! Thanks alot Zelos! Awww if only I'd known that long ago, finally I can have image URL.

Next: Can we have Flash sigs? I know the answer already but that'd be cool.

HaTcH - May 31, 2005 01:30 AM (GMT)
I liked the rule where your sig length should not excede the height of your left cell (the one with the avatar, title, warning etc..)

Which is a bit more than 200 but it looks better.

JammerLea - May 31, 2005 03:10 AM (GMT)
I just think that would be too confusing for the less computer savy people (like me).

ZeroRaven, we had discussed Flash sigs before but decided against them. ^^;

Hetman - May 31, 2005 04:00 AM (GMT)
I have no sig.
I have no sig.
I have no sig.
I have no sig.

Alright. Does anyone know how to align images on InvisionFree Boards? (Like in ProBullet, [right][/right], [center][/center] tags and etc)

JammerLea - May 31, 2005 04:53 AM (GMT)
I would think that if it has that ability, those would be the codes you would use.

Hetman - May 31, 2005 07:25 AM (GMT)
Hmm... nup. I've seen HaTcH align something though. :\

I know, I think I recall a discussion somewhere about it.

In the image alignment thingy it would seem very likely, but invision's code doesn't seem very sophisticated, but the one with the image URL wasn't listed in their SHORT BB Code Help so I think there must be some undocumented codes, maybe there is a way to align it. But what you can do is use what I think is called spacer images. Basicaly blank images, but could you put two images side by side? If you could do that then you can just align your images with spacer images.

Zelos - June 1, 2005 01:16 AM (GMT)
Image URL isn't listed becuase it isn't a code, but rather a way of utilizing URL and image codes that I learned how to do on my first day of HTML programming class last year.

Have a link to a post with centered text? I could find out how it was done.

HaTcH - June 2, 2005 03:08 AM (GMT)
Well why not use some logical thinking like I did, and realise the similarities between BBcode and HTML... the tag is align=left, align=center, align=right then close it off with a /align tag.

Zelos - June 2, 2005 03:20 AM (GMT)
I did. Whenever I've had to center something in HTML I just use <center> and </center>. I tried that, but never thought to try align=

Thanks alot HaTcH. =)

Heh, same here. Most BBS use [center][right][left] tags for the sake of simplicity...

Okay...this is interesting...Does anyone know if there'd be ANY way to enable HTML here?
It's just, on MMM, I had this cool scrolling sig that had all my info on it, and I wanted to use it here too...
For anyone who wants it, I can post the code...

Tilly - June 8, 2005 10:17 PM (GMT)
We discussed HTML in sigs before, and it was a no go, due to various issues. I agree with said descision. If you want some long battle info thing, that's what your bio (or a webpage) is for, imo.

Of course there is. It's a simple matter as a checkmark/bubble or whatever those thingys are called. Its the staff's descion really. But as Tilly said they agreed on as no. In a way I agree, allowing HTML is a dangerous thing, people could post all sorts of malicious code and everything. I could create a html code to create endless popups if my sig's on the page.

HaTcH - June 8, 2005 10:53 PM (GMT)
Is there by chance a "Marquee" tag? That would do what you're looking for Sky.

JammerLea - June 9, 2005 02:30 AM (GMT)
As far as I see all we can get is a scrolling code for the board itself, not something that members can use in their sigs.

Anyway, I'll probably start PMing people about their sigs this weekend. Too busy right now cleaning and stuff. And yes, I'm gonna be rather anal about the sizes and such. So people have been warned. >_>

ZeRoRaVeN - June 9, 2005 05:14 PM (GMT)
Aww seriously sucks, anyway if we did get scrollie it would've been heavily regulated, like no more than 10 words not painful on the eyes like forte's previous sig...*sob* it damaged my eyes..where are my new eyeballs!!!

jammer is going on patrol.

I remember that one! the really flashy/bright crazydancing people picture? burned away my eyes too!

Oh, well...Too bad, really, but...Meh. thanks anyway guys!

PS: The "Megaman: NT Warrior" manga rocks!

JammerLea - June 13, 2005 06:10 PM (GMT)
People, this is NOT the spam forum. Can we stay on topic?

ZeRoRaVeN - June 13, 2005 09:57 PM (GMT)
But but it was on topic, the topic was about siggys and then we talking about Hetman's eye killing siggy and then HaTcH (who's a mod!) posted something sig related and and and you even deleted his post and and and...ok that's all I have to say.

To prevent you from saying this post is SPAM :P I'll ask a question, can we post gifs...and if we do can they be like macromedia flash movies just converted into gif format? That's technicaly legal, I did that once, I'm sure nobody noticed it because within minuetes my geocities bandwith was all gonie. Is there also a image size (as in bytes, etc) limit?

JammerLea - June 14, 2005 01:37 AM (GMT)
As for bite size, there's no limit with that, but then with smaller images I don't expect really large file sizes. I have no problem with gifs.
