Title: Starcraft : Ghost

While some Zoids games in the western world would be nice.. we have to be honest an know that just ain't gonna happen.

And really the current games are pretty weak GameCube / Gameboy Clones of Mechwarrior and Metal Assault. Not exactly fantastic games to begin with.
Still while we wait for Tomy to actually give someone who has the skills to put together an awesome game, it is cool looking forward to some of the other games comming out.

I've been following Starcraft : Ghost, since it was started in 2001. It is finally come close to release, but for those who are fans of the original game. It isn't quite the long awaited sequel that everyone has been waiting for.

The game starts, with the traditional high-quality intro that you've come to expect from Blizzard game. Showing a Terran Army being decimated through an assault on an enemy base. War is truely hell and bloody, but then the secret weapon is revealed.

The blonde haired heroine of the game, simply codenamed 'Ghost'. Now this callsign isn't unique to her, as it's the name given to all of the covert operatives. These specially trained women are genetically enhanced fighting machines designed with latent Psi Abilities allowing them to move more quietly, keep better aims without drugs, even be able to Psychicly sheild themselves from everyone else around them cloaking themselves.

The Ghost's job is a simple one. Infiltrate enemy structures and bases, and prepare it for the invading army that is lurking outside.

As a game it offers two styles of gameplay depending on what your doing. Either the 3rd Person Metal Gear Solid / Splinter Cell Style Sneak 'em up gameplay, or in the field you have control of the army making you a field commander giving the game a basic Real-Time Strategy element.

Set to be Blizzards first console game, it certainly does break the mold of thier RTS/D&D Games they've done in the past.

We'll be catching this game on each of the current generation consoles,
Playstation 2, X-Box and GameCube.

So far Online Gameplay has only been confirmed for the X-Box Live! and Playstation 2 systems so far. It will be a shame if the GameCube's online capabilities are passed up (especially as this is the version of the game I'll be getting)

For now though this is looking like one heck of an awesome game.

So its finally coming out? Been waiting some time for this, they should put it on Gamecube, Gamecube usualy has the animation games.

But well I don't think the image with the blonde and a gun is accurate. I played starcraft and ghosts do not look like that, they have masks and everything and look way cooler. I hope they do a good job. What I want to see is a 3d starcraft, starcraft is really feeling its age now. But so far it looks interesting. I love Blizzards movies, they look so cool. And its always the Zerg the Terran go against.

Multiplayer games the Ghosts look like the science experiments from the originals. It's only Nova that is special. :)

Comes out early next year.
Emailed them about the GameCube multiplayer, and all I got was some Response saying to look at the FAQ for all my questions to be answered.

Yeah, that doesn't answer 'WHY is the GC not online?!' heh
It needs some good games like that.
