I have two Game Boy Colors. I have a total of...six games.
This is going to be tough.
Pokemon Yellow, Pinball, Gold, Silver, and Crystal, plus a copy of that Command Wolf promo-y Game Boy game (Jashin Fukkatsu).
Um...can I group Gold and Silver together? Otherwise Silver's off the list 'cause it's got no Arcanines.
...I'm not much of a gamer, but dangit, I like Pokemon :p.
Blade Liger Mirage - July 24, 2005 07:04 PM (GMT)

I have no idea ;_; How can you ask for only one console and five games ;_;
For console, it's a tie between Gamecube, Nintendo DS, and PC
Instead of giving you five games, choose pretty much any five games from
this list (excluding games number 1, 2, 14, 15, 24, 43, 46, 49, 58, 59, and 60) and you've got five of my favorite games. The thing is, I just CAN'T choose five absolute favorite games. I like all of my games, and I just can't choose an orverall favorite.
However, choosing genre favorites is easier...
FPS: Half-Life 2 (PC)
FPA: Metroid Prime 2 (GCN)
RPG: Golden Sun 2 (GBA)/Tales of Symphonia (GCN)/Pokemon Ruby (GBA)/Skies of Arcadia Legends (GCN)/Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door (GCN)
Puzzle: Meteos (NDS)
Platformer: Kirby Canvas Curse (NDS)
TBS: Fire Emblem (GBA)
Racing: Mario Kart Double Dash!! (GCN)
Action Adventure: Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64/GCN)/Wind Waker (GCN)
Fighting: Super Smash Bros. Melee (GCN)
Simulation: The Sims 2 (PC)
See, much easier that way. Though I had to cheat badly on RPG and a little bit on Action Adventure
Unabhängiger Wolf - August 3, 2005 10:51 PM (GMT)
Isn't there anyone here who is an older gamer? It's sad when pretty much all the games mentioned so far are all recent games (N64 and up). Tsk tsk.
As Zelos says, it's really hard to name your top 5 favourite games, especially when you love a lot of games from a lot of different genres. I'll do the same as him:
Platform: Super Mario World.
Simulation: The Sims/The Sims 2, SimCity 3000, Wolf
Fighting: Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen 3
Adventure (Consoles): LoZ: A Link to The Past
Adventure (PC): Pretty much all of LucasArt's games, ie: Sam and Max Hit the Road, The Secret of Monkey Island, etc
Space Simulation: Tie Fighter's Collector's CD-ROM
Racing: Star Wars Episode 1: Racer
RPG: Final Fantasy VIII, Tales of Symphonia
Puzzle: Pokémon Puzzle League/Challenge, Dr. Mario
Shooter: Contra 3: Alien Wars, Star Fox
Action Adventure (Tomb Raider types): Indiana Jones and The Emperor's Tomb
FPS: Half-Life, Battlefield 2 (for multiplayer)
RTS: No idea, 'cause I suck at those :D
I like lots of other games, but these are the only ones I remember right now.
Oh, didn't mention consoles...I love all of Nintendo's consoles except for the N64. I also like the PC, although I don't call it a console.
Rev Raptor - August 4, 2005 12:11 AM (GMT)
My console is Gamecube and SNES, hands-down. And I'll do as the previous two did:
Platform: *Cough* Yoshi's Island >_>;;
Simulation: SimAnt >_> I haven't played any other ones
Fighting: Naruto 3, King of Fighters (any version), and any ZOIDs Vs
Space/Flight Sim: Star Wars: Rogue Squadron 2
Racing: Mario Kart ^_^ 64 and Double Dash were the best
RPG: >_> TONS of them here... Breath of Fire II, Chrono Trigger, Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia: Legends, Pokemon, Secret of Mana
Adventure: Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, Ocarina of Time, and Wind Waker
FPS: None >_>
Puzzle: Myst
*Cough* I soooo cheated with Adventure, Fighting, and RPG

Myst is an adventure game, actually. By the way, if Myst was your favourite adventure game, then you really need to go play other, better games XD

But Myst is pretty good..its got nice graphics and all...I had a pretty hard time..I didn't get that far..I played a few hrs then went to plays something else. For me its a waste of time because its only adventure...time better spent honing your first person shooting skillz. or css.

As an adventure game, Myst is hideous. The game plays more like a slideshow than a game, with extra-hard and nonsensical puzzles and no other characters to interact with. If you want to play excellent adventure games, go try any of LucasArts' titles, ie Full Throttle, the Monkey Island series, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max Hit the Road, etc.
Good graphics does not a game make.

I played monkey island..I think...probably some trial...yrs ago probably...anyway that is true..good graphics doesn't make a good game nessarily. You do get to interact in Myst...in the beginning. But you get what you wanted right? Puzzles, and a hell alot of them. *grumble* I have a copy of the game...I don't want it..its collecting dust out on some shelf somewhere literaly. The music and graphics create a nice enviroment though.
Unabhängiger Wolf - August 4, 2005 01:45 AM (GMT)
Ah, this is where our opinions differ. What I look for in an adventure game are lots of other people to talk to, and puzzles that actually make some sort of sense. I don't want to just do puzzles.
The big problem with Myst is that the puzzles simply do not make any sense at all. They're totally random and illogical that it takes a lot of guesswork and trial and error just to figure out what you're supposed to do. Those types of puzzles annoy me a great deal.
Unfortunately, after Myst became a big hit, lots of other companies tried to make their own adventure games that follow the Myst type of gameplay, instead of making adventure games that appealed more to me. I blame Myst for the death of (good) adventure gaming. Companies today think that nobody wants to play adventure games anymore, and adventure game sales have gone really horrible.
However, the UK still loves adventure games, and that keeps the genre alive, although it's in a foreign country. LucasArts only made the latest Monkey Island games -because- of support from the UK, not in North America. Unfortunately, now they're not making anymore adventure games. They cancelled the Sam and Max sequel just recently.
ZeRoRaVeN - August 4, 2005 01:57 AM (GMT)
Personally to me...a good adventure game or puzzle game would be some kind of RPG or first person shooter..I need action..I mean in Myst the spookish music/enviroment is ruined by the fact that nothing's gonna attack you...sucks doesn't it?
Zelos - August 4, 2005 04:58 AM (GMT)
Can't we just like ALL kinds of adventure games
I do have Sam & Max Hit The Road, Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentcale (not started yet), and some others, but I don't include them in my collection because I don't exactly have them legally... If I were to include all my pirated GBA, SNES, and older PC games, my collection would be a lot bigger :D
I like Myst (not as much as Riven and Exile, however, hence why I excluded it from my "favorites"), but I also love Sam & Max and Grim Fandango, and most likely Day of the Tentacle and the Monkey Island games once I get around to playing them.
On a side note, my new computer theme rocks. It's based of the Aero theme in the Beta 1 version of Windows Vista, and is all neat and black and matches well with my current desktop. Maybe I'll start a new Desktop thread to show it off.
Unabhängiger Wolf - August 4, 2005 06:17 AM (GMT)
Congrats. You're the first person I know who stated they like both Myst and 'the other adventure games.'

I don't know where to get the actual Beta 1 version itself, but I'm sure if you look around enough you could find it. A review of it is
here, and I got the theme for use with XP
here (requires WindowBlinds, but has a link to a less fancy version that doesn't) I wish I could find an icon set based off the Vista icons, then my mock Vista, XP based, computer would be as complete as possible.
I'll try searching around for it some. I'm sure there's probably already a torrent on my favorite torrent sites...
EDIT: Yep,
First and second on the list at the first bittorrent site in my list. First has more seeders though.
RegShark - August 4, 2005 11:04 PM (GMT)
Game Cube:
Ultimate Muscle
Tales of Symphonia
Gauntlet Legends
Zoids Battle Legends
Mystic Heroes
That is the system I play, and those are the five of my favorites.

Which beta? Do you mean Longhorn's beta? Or is this about a beta that came out AFTER longhorn was renamed vista?
I miss longhorn...I mean to keep track of it for years andalways referring it to as longhorn...I will always remember it as longhorn, I don't like vista much. *bookmarks site* You guys also know that is a direct violation of the TOS...

It's like they're in two seperate catagories...but no we must join either adventure game camp, it's like you can't be a windows and mac fanatic at once...err if you are then you're not a fanatic.
Zelos - August 5, 2005 02:48 AM (GMT)
What's against the TOS, off-topicness or posting the Beta which isn't a "public" release? It's not like the Beta I posted a link to is a final product that Microsoft is selling, certain IT people and journalists are getting it for free. Just because it's not a "public" release, it's not like Microsoft is losing anything by people "pirating" a Beta product.
And this is the Beta that was released sometime late last month (July) don't know the exact date. And it's the only Beta released so far, all version of Longhorn prior to the name change were just development builds of Longhorn and far less "complete" then a Beta is. Well, this Beta isn't even that complete, I hear many of Vista's special features are only going to start appearing in Beta 2 which has no release date yet. (Speaking of Beta's, whatever happened to the Alpha version, and why isn't Beta 2 a Gamma version?)
I personally prefer the name Vista, as Longhorn is just to long and strange. But, this IS getting off topic...
