Title: The Best Movie Games. The Worst Game Movies.
K-62 - August 8, 2004 01:53 AM (GMT)
I'm bord so I'm starting one of my topics on games.
This one by the title you can tell is about the best movie games and the worst game movies.
My favorite movie game is most likely Golden Eye for the N64. The worst game movie would be Street Fighter.
Sir Maverick - August 8, 2004 01:59 AM (GMT)
The best movie game is without a doubt Goldeneye for the N64, as you said. The worst game movie is Tomb Raider as far as I'm concerned....
K-62 - August 8, 2004 02:00 AM (GMT)
HAve you seen Street Fighter it was worst than Tomb Raider.
Sir Maverick - August 8, 2004 02:02 AM (GMT)
I've seen both, and I prefer Street Fighter, though they're both really crappy. Tomb Raider is too much about eye candy, and Street Fighter just sucks.

Really the only good movie-turned-game would be some of the Star Wars games from LucasArts, particularly Tie Fighter Collector's CD-ROM, one of the best computer games ever. Other good Star Wars games are Episode 1: Racer and Dark Forces. X-Wing Alliance was good too, but it was too hard.
Update: The worst movie game is Super Mario Bros. Nobody who worked on the movie played a single SMB game, and it showed.
K-62 - August 8, 2004 02:10 AM (GMT)
Oh... Super Mario Bros. I forgot about that. That movie was so dum.
Wait......It was the one when they try to rescue Peach from Bowser and they didnt use 'little people' , right?
Malakym - August 8, 2004 02:58 AM (GMT)
Besed moive to game is Golden Eye and Escape form Brucher's Bay.
Worst, Super Mario Bros and Moltal Kombat
Vega - August 8, 2004 03:43 AM (GMT)
I though the first Mortal Kombat was decent, actually I think it may of been the best game movie yet...of course there hasn't been many good ones.
Best movie game I think should go to Star Wars...aside from Goldeneye the Bond series hasn't had that many amazing games.
Canute - August 8, 2004 06:24 PM (GMT)
Good, I thought when I first read this topic, somehow nobody would post anything about Goldeneye 64. But, it turned out I was way wrong. You guys really stepped up and came through for me.
Another movie that was really bad was Mortal Kombat. Both movies were seriously pathetic. House of the Dead was also a flop. Hopefully the new Resident Evil movie will be great! Ha ha, yeah right! Canute out.

GamePro didn't count all the PC games.
I forgot to add the Indiana Jones games for the PC. I played pretty much all of them except for The Infernal Machine, and they were all good. The Fate of Atlantis and The Emperor's Tomb were great games. Naturally, they are all from LucasArts.
JammerLea - August 8, 2004 11:19 PM (GMT)
Aladdin. That WAS a fun movie game.
I don't remember Mario Bros or Street Fighter though I know I've seen them. I own Double Dragon and I actually like that because...because... I guess I thought it was funny.
The one game movie I really dislike, though it's probably not the worst overall, was the Final Fantasy movie. They just shouldn't have called it Final Fantasy, they missed too many expectations. Based on FF standards it sucked, but if they had given it another name, it probably would have been fine. And all the Square fans would've still watched it.
Oh well.

Super Mario Bros. the plot is two plumbers save the world from Dennis Hopper. Best line is " The tunnel just sneezed us out, and this giant booger saved us!"
Street Fighter the plot is Col. Guile saves the world from Bison. Best line is "You're pretty smart. Let's see how smart you are when you're not breathing!"
Don't know why the best line helps but.....um...um....ya.
Oh, ya Indiana Jones is like 15th, I just did top 5
Vega - August 9, 2004 05:16 AM (GMT)
actually, now that I think about it how many decent game movies have there really been.
Mario
Mortal Kombat
Final Fantasy
Double Dragon
Street Fighter
Resident Evil
Tomb Raider
I don't think any of them were that good

Wait a minute, there was a Zelda movie? Hmm, you might be confused with something else. Now, I know there was some really crappy Zelda games released on the Phillips CD-i, which looked like cartoons, so, that might have been it. There also may have been some Zelda cartoons at some point, but I do not remember any.
What they need to do is get Peter Jackson to direct a Zelda movie. They need to give him 2-3 years to make it with almost unlimited resourses. It would be the greatest movie of all time! Well, Canute out.
K-62 - August 10, 2004 03:06 AM (GMT)
Ya now I remember it was a cartoon, really badly draw too.
JammerLea - August 10, 2004 07:31 AM (GMT)
Yes, there was a Zelda cartoon series. It also went with... ugh, what was that other game toon? Giant talking brain thing... Agh! Almost had it! *SOB*
Anyways, there's been some cheap DVDs released with some eps from the Zelda series. My best friend picked on up. It also had two eps from Sonic Underground.
Ah, of course I know about the cartoons.
*skedaddles*
*EDIT*
Right after I post that "Captain N" comes to mind. I think that may be it...
Atrophy Within - August 10, 2004 07:49 AM (GMT)
Goldeneye for N64 was the best game to come from a movie.
Resident Evil was the worst movie to come from a game.. Lycan
Sir Maverick - August 10, 2004 12:03 PM (GMT)
I'd be inclined to agree with Lycan except for one problem...Resident Evil was so bad I couldn't bring myself to watch the whole thing...
TheBlackCat - August 26, 2004 12:39 AM (GMT)
The brain thing was mother brain from the metroid series, the show was Captain N: The Game Master. It wasn't a very good show, but it did spawn two very good sprite comics.
I would have to say the best movie game was goldeneye as well, it was good (for a FPS, that is).
I would have to say tomb raider was the worst video game movie. Besides Mortal Kombat, which I liked (I think it a fun, dumb action flick), I have generally just avoided watching game movies altogether. FF: THe Spirits Withing I liked, but from what I understand it isn't really a video game movie, it is more an original movie with the same name as a video game series. I never really played FF, that may be why I liked the movie.

oh god, that was the only game i played on my megadrive except jurassic park and sonic, star wars is the best it has nothing to do with my unhealthy addiction to star wars galaxies and all other star wars games
Malakym - August 26, 2004 05:25 AM (GMT)
Hmm FF:tSW is the worst one I see good! Lucky FF7:AC is going to be good
