Title: ISO/IMG Trouble

MrGuy - July 28, 2005 12:34 AM (GMT)
This is a long shot... but I hope someone can help me with this.

I have this .img file that apparently has other files inside, it's just packed up. I guess it's an ISO file too though it doesn't state it. Anyway, I'm having trouble getting the stuff (namely an .exe file) out of it. I've unpacked ISO files before but for some reason none of my programs will open this one. Instead of associating the file with Undisker (my main ISO unpacking program) it associates it with Paint Shop Pro (wtf?). Link.

I've been told to "mount" the file with Daemon tools but I can't figure out how to do that for the life of me. I can "mount" the .ccd file fine, just not the .img. Nothing I try works. So does anyone have any clue how to get those files I need out of that .img file?

Have you ever considered using a CD burner program like nero to unpack the files onto a CD?

WinRAR is also capable of opening .iso files. As far as I know, .img files (when related to CDs) are the copies of the boot sector on bootable CD's like Windows XP install disc, but it could be like the disk image.

If you don't have a capable CD burning program, just google for a free one.

I've tried burning it to a CD as is, but not unpacking it. I've heard of Nero before so I think I'll give it a try. I'll let you know if it works ^_^
