Title: Novels

Anyone read any good novels lately? I've been reading the Mage Wars trilogy during the summer. Right now I've started working on reading "The Silver Gryphon" which is the third book in the Mage Wars trilogy. The other two books in this trilogy is "The Black Gryphon" and "The White Gryphon". It's a great way to start if you're into reading the whole Heralds of Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey. That is if you want to by the timeline shown on the books. ^^'

I plan on reading Eldest, sequel to Eragon... GOD I LOVE THAT BOOK! It was just great, dragons killing people, and yes I can be homicidal sometimes, but not in real life.

I dont really like fantasy books too much, I prefer thrillers. The last novel I read was East of Desolation by Jack Higgins; It was really good. It's bout a guy that flies planes in Greenland, then one day he is hired for a high paying job which in turn lands him in the middle of an evil sorta mob boss guy's plan to recove what was rightful his.

Good book you should read it.

Recently? Hmm...I'm on the third book of the Arrows of the Queen Trilogy. It's, if I remember right, one of the oldest parts of the Valdemar series and the writing seems to bear it out.

I also re-read Path of the Fury by David Weber in the last month or so. Still a good read though some of the scenes/descriptions were repetitive. I'm thinking of re-reading Knight of the Black Rose or Tactics of Mistake.

As for non sci-fi/fantasy I re-read the Book of Five Rings a bit ago. Good book for anyone interested. I'm probably going to read the Art of War soon, just to see what the hype is about. Myself, I prefer On War but it is a bit lengthy and dry.

Aside from that, haven't been reading much, I've focused more on writing and other things.

I've been obsessing over "The Quintaglio Ascension" series by Robert J. Sawyer. I have the first two books in the series, Far Seer and Fossil Hunter, and really really want "Foreigner", the Final book in the series... those books are the sort of books that you can read over and over and not get tired of... I love the characters, I love the setting, I love the concept... everything about the Quintaglio Ascnsion series pwnz. Forget Jurassic Park or bones of the Earth; if you want a *good* dinosaur themed SciFi novel, read the Quintaglio Ascension series.

...Unless you're a creationist, in which case they'll likely cause you to foam at the mouth. XD

Before that, I was obsessing over the Earth's Children series... Clan of the Cave Bear is good, and The Valley of Horses is decent, but avoid The Mammoth Hunters, The Plains of Passage and the Shelters of Stone like the PLAGUE. http://www.livejournal.com/users/koobine/1951.html

I'm also obsessed with Animorphs... and I recently got the Silverwing Trilogy in a box set, buuuut... I haven't read them... yet.

Haven't read two or three, but the first one, "Silverwing", is really good.

I've re-read Tokien's books (all of them, in reversed chronological order).
As well as Eragon. Eldest comes out on my first day of school, but I want to read that.

I've also re-read the 3rd, 5th, and 6th Potter Books, and The Sum of All Fears, by Clancy.

Oh, and I just finished Dahl's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and J.M. Barrie's "Peter Pan"...

Has anyone seen "Finding Neverland", with Willy Wonka...I mean, with Johnny Depp? GOD that was a good film...I want to see Depp as Wonka, that sounds too funny...

I've just finished 'Shougun' by.. someone. I've been reading it since Christmas :( I hardly ever read... unless it's for school, or something.. I know I should read more.. but I just can't find the time.
