Title: Happy and confused
DefaultPeanut - September 16, 2005 08:19 AM (GMT)
I just picked up my CC DVDs today. I ordered them in fro A&B Sound. No other place close to where I live that A) had them in stock or B) could get them any quicker. I had DVDs 1 and 2 already b4 I ordered the new ones. When I went into A&B Sound mid Aug, I ordered CC DVDs 3, 4, 5 and 6. I get a call a day ago that they are in. I was like sweet!
The first thisn that indicated my order was messed was that they said they had my 3, not 4, but 3 DVDs ready for me to pick up. At this point, I was thinking; maybe one is on backorder or out of stock. I was not able to pick them up the day I got the call because I had no ride there and I was getting payed the next day.
So today... wall as of this post, yesterday rolls 'round and I go to A&B Sound after dinner and go to pick them up. With $$ in hand, I walk to the CD/DVD dept. and say to the person behind the counter I had got a call the other day my order was in. She asks for my last name so she can find my order in the vast bin they had gotten in the other day. She is going thru the bin. She starts to stand up and says "Here are your 3 DVDs" I'm like... damnit. I aske her why there is only 3 and not the 4 I had ordered. She handed me the little note under the elastic band. It said "Out of stock on CC DVD #4".
I ask if I can order some more in, "k, no prob" she says. While she was typing in the info needed for where to ship them to the store, I take a look at my bounty... To my surprise, there is #5, #6 and #9 sitting there. That was my WTF moment for the day. lol So I ask her to order me in 3, 7 and 8 for me. I say sure and she orders them in. Now for the real shocker: While I was starting to turn round to go to the till, she asks me if I wanted to order 10 and 11... UH HUH! Having no been released yet, This sounds to good to be true. Well only time will tell. Now I just have to find another place with #4...

I finally got Fuzors 1-3 today...my DVD player happily played region 4 PAL like it's supposed to. This made me happy.
Discovering that the remote control for said DVD player had vanished did not.
I don't have any CC DVDs either. I should probably go for the Aussie ones, as they're cheaper, but I just can't get the motivation. Though the evil music video plans will likely get to me in the end...

How much did each of the DVDs cost?
HaTcH - September 16, 2005 02:22 PM (GMT)
Lol.. I have DVD 10 :P So much for not being released!
ZeRoRaVeN - September 16, 2005 09:17 PM (GMT)
$10? Uh oh I bought almost all of mine for like $15, except for one in which a realllyyy nice friend (who also bought me a asian kung-fu generation CD this year :) ) bought me a CC DVD from a foreign country for free....it doesn't look like the standard packaging though...
I don't need the CC series anymore...I have the entire thing on my comp...I need GF and new century the most...
HaTcH - September 16, 2005 09:31 PM (GMT)
GF starts on CC DVD 6 I think. They are releasing Guardian Force as Chaotic Century.

I think it is against the rules to talk about it, no ? Well I'm off to work...

Rip 'em from DVDs and then squish to avis if desired? I've done that for a few of my DVDs and plan to do a lot more for evil music video-making purposes...

It takes up way too much room/time...my hard drives have been filled up with anime files already...all of my drives have "very low" -diskeeper designations..and I'm trying to get a cheap 300GB internal hard drive...there was one for $40 on compusa..problem is that I don't have another connector on my IDE cable..
Getting off topic..anyway is Fuzors being released on DVD in the US? *doesn't keep track of Fuzors*
Tilly - September 18, 2005 08:45 AM (GMT)
Nope. All we have for English Fuzors is PAL region 4 DVDs of spotty quality from Australia. JOY.
ZeRoRaVeN - September 18, 2005 07:25 PM (GMT)
That means it only plays in Region 4 right? So it hasn't been released anywhere other than Australia...hmm I have relatives from Australia...the DVDs have Japanese voices and english subtitles right?
Tilly - September 18, 2005 08:17 PM (GMT)
No DVD release has anything other than raw Japanese or plain dubbed. Aussie Fuzors is dubbed only, and some of the DVDs (mine and Rantinan's included) have craptastic quality in places. Bad Magna Pacific, no biscuit!
PAL doesn't matter for a computer, but if you have a TV and multi-region player, be sure it can convert to NTSC too.
Koneko - September 18, 2005 10:31 PM (GMT)
I'm missing two NC0 DVDs.. Been keeping an eye on Big Lots for those. >> I'm waiting for my 10th GF DVD to get here, and I have to pre-order 11. However, Koneko owns no Fuzors.. I would REALLY like to get my hands on 'em though.
