Title: Mammals Vs. Reptiles!
Description: Who's better at stuff?

PlushRayseTiger - September 16, 2005 07:51 PM (GMT)
I like reptiles more. Mammalian reproduction disturbs me a great deal. Would dinosaurs be considered reptiles? Some places say that they are either their own type or primitave birds.

I voted both because they all have +'s and -'s.

If one wants to be *really* nitpicky, birds are actually reptiles. Dinosaurs belong to the order "archosauria" the same family that includes crocodiles, thecodonts, icthyosaurs, plesiosaurs and pterosaurs. Many scientists classify birds as theropods, which are dinosaurs. So, as a result, birds = reptiles.

As for wether I like mammals or reptiles more? Definately reptiles. I <3 dinosaurs, as well as all modern reptiles and amphibians. (Although I'm not that interested in birds...) As for mammals? The only ones I'm *really* interested in are cats. The vast majority of animals I like are reptiles, amphibians, or bugs. Therefore, mammals lose.

What type of mammalian reproduction? :P We've got the placential mammals, which give birth to live, fully developed young. Then we've got the marsupials, which give birth to barely developed young and raise them in pouches. Then, we've got the monotremes, (the echidna and platypus being the only living examples, but many kinds existed in prehistoric times), which lay eggs like reptiles but feed their young with milk.

i'm an animal fanatic so by law i must love all animals but since horse tops everything by a mile, it has to mammals.
What's wrong with the way mammals reproduce? It's more fun their way.

mammals are generally furry and cuddly. You can kiss and hugg them and i let them sleep in my bed but then again i would do the same with a reptile.
