Ok, I'm making a banner for my RPG team. Also a sig and Av set for myself, and a special someone as a gift.
Now, I've removed the backgrounds behind Zoids, and got just the parts I want. BUT... dun dun dun... I dunno how to JUST select the Zoid itself, and put it on top of another pic.
What I want to do, is merge two pictures, of which I have ready. But, the background, of which is removed, I want to be transparent, so when I paste one pic on another, you can see the Zoid behind the one I pasted, or, see the parts that are not covered by the top picture.
I don't know how to do this and its driving me crazy. Can someone help me?
Also, I would like to know how to get the neat backgrounds in. As in, I see Blades signatures, and they have cool backgrounds. Where or how is the obtained/made?
I know Tilly and Blade are my best bets for help, but maybe someone else knows, or has some tips too.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Yes, this is being made with GIMP, NOT Photoshop.
Filters. Lots of filters. Mess around with stuff...and layer blend modes. Those can do fun things.
Have you tried using layers for the whole merging-of-pics thing? They should work, though if the layers thingy isn't showing they'll be no help.
I just knew Tilly would reply, GIMP is like her area...well photoshop has the big explosiony mergie layers thing...and as for backgrounds you must use tutorials...
Google photoshop background tutorials...
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=photo...G=Google+SearchLots of them...they're just basically filters...they have instructions and they may be complex or simple...it all depends...
