Title: Halloween!
Description: everyone ignores it because its American
ZeRoRaVeN - October 29, 2005 04:36 PM (GMT)
I found out Halloween is an American thing. My cuz from Austrialia came over and he had no idea what Halloween was so I had to explain to him.
Seems Halloween doesn't affect this board much..meh..
SO! What is everybody doing for halloween?
For me I have no idea as my friends haven't mentioned it much..we have no plans....
König Warrior - October 29, 2005 06:56 PM (GMT)
Odd, I'd think people in Austrailia would have at least heard of Halloween, unless you cousin doesn't have much connections to America besides you. Perhaps not an internet person.

*shrug* beyond WoW..no I don't think so...
Momonga - October 29, 2005 08:31 PM (GMT)
I've always known of Halloween.. It's celebrated a little in New Zealand, but not as much as in America. We always have a bowl of candy ready.. but it's usually still half-full the next day.
And I don't remember celebrating it at all when I lived in Australia.

Me and my friends are getting together to go trick-or-treating and going to tepee people's houses that don't give us candy.
My brother's dressing up as a devil/demon thing and I'm probably going to go as a person from the Matrix or a homicidal maniac. ;)

uh...ok..make sure to stay away from the cops when you're "acting" as a homicidal maniac...
I have NEVER gone trick or treating in my life...I dunno why I never bothered...well I never did like candy very much...beyond ice cream and dark chocolate...yum...

I first came by halloween on tele and friends and it stuck. You don't need the enternet.
Halloween is hardly celebrated here in Australia but there were a few Halloween festivals a few years ago...
P.S. Your cousin lives under a cave.

I'm planing on taking the blade off my chain saw and terrorizing the kiddies... and the invading 7th and 8th graders that just like migrate to the suburbs during halloween.. They need to stay down in the city where they belong. XD
ZeRoRaVeN - October 29, 2005 11:28 PM (GMT)
@HaTcH you're so anti-city...you said you hated NYC....I can't believe you....
@Hetman dunno...

The point of Halloween is to pretend...you can't pretend to be someone you already are. XD

Try asking him if he knows "All Saints Day", I think Halloween is the North American name.
As for my opinion of this day, it's evil. :lol:
MrGuy - October 30, 2005 05:12 AM (GMT)
All Saints Day is November 1st. And even the French celebrate Halloween to an extent, I'd imagine most people in other english speaking countries to at least know what it is :blink:

It was fun when I was younger. Now that I'm in college, the fun is mainly having an excuse for the girls to dress up in extremely sluttly costumes (naughty teacher, lots of cleavage + mouse ears, ect.) and the guys to watch, followed by more of the typical drinking then migrating over to overcroweded frat parties. So its basically more of the usual + slutty costumes.
Though we did decorate our floor for a contest. That was fun.

HOLY CRAP! I did this 2 years ago. The cops didn't find it funny... even tho the blade was off. HAHAHA I rushed the 7-11 with the thing running full bore :D I had a hockey mask on (Jason). Their camera did nothing. I did wait untill everyone but ppl at the till were gone. This year I plan on hanging out with some ppl then going to motor 'round on my 250 then doing some night ops :P...

That is more or less exactly what goes on here, 'Cept instead of frats, they go to the woods and make a bonfire and drink there.
I hope they get busted. Not because its massively underage, but because they leave their beer cans and garbage all over the place.
@ DP: What are you some kind of nut-job? Of course the police wouldn't find that funny... 7-11 is a business. We were going to do it by crouching in the ditch on the side of the road next to the woods... That way we could run like heck to get out of there.

The cops talked to me bofore the 7-11. But the people working the till were my 2 neighbours Clayton and Naomi <I kid you not> I had told them a few days before that I might stop in with my costume. They were fine with it. It gave them a bit of a startle but nothing too crazy.

My TP cannon is ready and waiting. Nobody will be able to get into the school. It will turn into one piece of TP!!!
ZeRoRaVeN - October 30, 2005 07:38 PM (GMT)
So violent, my area is too urban to do any of that sort...espically since my city is full of cops...they'd think you're planning a terrorist attack....
My friend once wanted to urinate in a ballon and throw them at people. o.O I'm glad he never went ahead with it. I should go egg my old school...or something like that..
Tyrion - October 30, 2005 10:31 PM (GMT)
Im from Australia.. and yea, we all know what it is and what it entails. But we dont celebrate it.. which is a shame, cause i recon it would be fun..
ZeRoRaVeN - October 30, 2005 10:34 PM (GMT)
You sure missed out on alot then...all the stupidness..the nut-jobs...*cough*DP*cough*
How did halloween start anyway? It's kinda pointless...but hey it helps pay the dentist better...
Rev Raptor - October 30, 2005 10:41 PM (GMT)
XP We don't usually celebrate Halloween in Japan either, but my friends and I are throwing a party tonight anyway. After all, it's a chance to get together, wear weird costumes, and pig out on junk food... sort of like an anime convention, except with fake spiderwebs ^_^;

It's also El Día de los Angelitos. Which means The Day of the Little Angels, which is for children who have died. The following day, Día de los Muertos, is for adults. Both are for honoring the deceased.

<_< Unfortunaley for me my sisters, Halloween is demonic and can't be celebrated...To my father of course...For us kids, we can't wait for the day to dress up and celebrate it. Our mother has no problem, its just our pops and his weird theory of the devils b-day. I find that very very stupid...So every halloween, when our pops go to work I try to sneak out but always get caught..... <_<
Any way, No crazy a2s pops gonna stop me. I'm gonna sneak out and join the East syde click at night ...Paint balls and eggs...That's what I'm aiming for this year.. :ph43r:
