Title: Super Smash Brother's 3 Characters...
Description: Who do you think they should add?
ShadowDragon062 - November 14, 2005 04:00 AM (GMT)
Mainly a topic on who you think Nintendo should add to the next game, and tell what each controls does, etc. I've played both, but the older version is the one I own. I have one major character I wish they would add. Note I'm using the N64 Version of Super Smash Brothers. The "added" character's can be anyone, wether it be Rockman.exe, to gruesome animes like Hellsing.
My guy I think they should add... Sesshoumaru from InuYasha.
A: Claw Swipe (press repeatedly, and it will be sword)
B: Energy Blast from Tokijin (like Fox's gun)
The yellow buttons: Jump
Tap: calmly walks
Double Tap: Runs with right arm extended.
A and to the side: lightning whip (he pivots in place with one foot)
A and up: Poison Claw (swipes upwards)
A and down: Swing Tokijin down
R button: brings up Tokijin and uses the demonic aura as a shield
L button: Sends the big fluff a short distance trying to enwrap the foe to throw them.
B and up: Dragon Strike, allows him to fly higher when he's in midair, and when he is on the ground, he charges for five seconds and than strikes forward with a lightning blast.
B and down: jumps into the air, holding Tokijin as it glows, and stabs down when he comes down to the ground
Yeah, he may be a bit powerful, but hey he is a demon. What other people do you think they should add? I've got others in mind, but please use some sort of format that will tell us what moves they can do when you press something on the controls.

Isnt the whole point that it's Nintendo-only?
Drk-X - November 14, 2005 05:08 AM (GMT)
The Revolution doesn't have Shoulder Buttons or C-buttons as of what we've seen...
ShadowDragon062 - November 15, 2005 01:29 AM (GMT)
@Scottfab, I think they should add others, besides just Nintendo characters. It would be cool in my opinion instead of just having the Nintendo gang out there fighting. They could even do Nintendo V.S Sony Character's if you want.
@Drkx... like I said, I was going with the old format of the Super Smash Brothers with N64. I'm not really use to the Gamecube to have a say about the controls there, which is why I stated N64.
So anyone have a character they think they should add. And it can be anyone.
Edit:
Here are some other people who I think they should add.
Rockman
Alphonse Elric
Edward Elric
Winry (I don't know, I think one of her attacks could be her throwing a wrench or something)
InuYasha
Naraku
I don't know why, but these Character's would make some matches even more intense. I think Mewtwo is kind of cheap sometimes, cuz I played against one at my friends house. I got pwned after I took three of his lives and he just took me down once...
I'll bring in the stats later...

I'll play too
Solid Snake
Ryu
Ken
Akuma
Kyo
Terry
Linux penguin
Jack (havest moon guy)
War Machine
ExDeath
King
Jin
Ren and Stimpy
You want me to go on?
As you see any character can be made into any game, but it will take the fun out of it when too many characters are used. By limiting the selection to Nintendo characters SuperSmash is a great game, but when you start to add random characters based on ones preference it gets strange and complex. You can find many of the characters I listed in their own fighting games. Some the ones you listed can be found here:

War Machine, as in Marvel Character? Sweet... Why not add Ironman, Spiderman, and Venom while we're at it.
Cool ideas K-62. What are there controls though when you press a combination?
ZeRoRaVeN - November 15, 2005 03:43 AM (GMT)
I have the n64 version, though not the gamecube and the most I've played are from a friend's and the controls are very confusing...the n64 one was simple, but in the gamecube it got alot more hetic and then I got confused about the controls...they have all these werid combinations now...now when I play I jump alot so I can keep track of where my character is lol...

Mewtwo is not cheap...Mewtwo ranks in the lower tiers.... >.>

If you want to play Marvel characters go out and grab Marvel Vs Capcom. It has Ironman, Spiderman, and Venom along with many others like the most of the X-Men and Captian America.

Smash Bros should ONLY have Nintendo characters in it. That's their THEME. That's what SSMB is about and how it should *stay.* No anime characters or whatever... Smash Bros is all about the Nintendo-ness. One could *possibly* extend it to video game characters in general, but ONLY for franchises that originated as a video game series. No characters from games that are based on an anime/comic/movie/whatever.
Besides, video games based on TV shows/anime/movies/etc almost always suck. Hard. I'd like to say Zoids Battle Legends is the exception, but it *is* a rather crappy game in the eyes of non-Zoid fans.

Heh, I guess your right, but I was just seeing what do you think they should add, if they asked about adding Anime Characters, or Sony Characters... something...
It was just an idea, that's all. I just wanted to see who you think, other than Nintendo Characters should they add.
However, since most of us think that it should only be Nintendo only... who do you think they should add that are Nintendo Characters?
I think one of them... should be Wario, and those Baby Bowsers from Mario games for GBASP.

You mean Marvel vs Capcom 2....Marvel vs Capcom 1 blew big time.
Speaking of which, I got 2nd place in the local California MvC2 finals~!!! Yay for Sentinel, Cable, and Dr. Doom~!!!
What the hell would be the point of having Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, and Wario in SSBM? Wario would just be ANOTHER Mario clone, identical to Dr. Mario, and Baby Mario/Luigi would be plain ridiculous.
Super Smash Bros Revolution will most likely not have any of those guys. Seriously, a lot of the characters mentioned would never work in SSB. You have to be a serious player like myself or some of the other finalists I met last week in order to see what I'm talking about.
Likable characters have to have special fighting styles. I can tell you by heart that the 3 most used characters world wide in the NA and Asia are Sheik/Zelda, Marth, and Fox. Why? Because overall they have the most fluid styles. Take it from myself, I'm a Sheik player and I managed to place 1st in last week's Game On match. I hope to do just as well this weekend as I'm facing the tougher opponents this saturday.
Rankings in SSBM compiled by the top players nationwide
Top:
Sheik
Fox
Marth
Upper:
Falco
C. Falcon
Samus
High:
Jigglypuff
Dr. Mario
Ganondorf
Mario
Ice Climbers
Mid:
Ness
Peach
Luigi
Link
Roy
DK
Pikachu
Zelda
Low:
Young Link
Yoshi
Kirby
Mr. Game & Watch
Bowser
Mewtwo
Bottom:
Pichu
Yes, as you can see, there is a pattern to this too. A few exceptions to this tier are the difficult characters to use such as Ness and Zelda. But as you can see, they tend to flow from more efficient to least efficient. And a large amount of the characters listed lack that efficiency and are just fanboy favorites. When designing their battle style, they'd either end up as godly or ridiculously broken down.
How can I test the reliablity of this tier? Because myself and many other Smash vets have been playing for years with all characters. I find that I can pwn people harder with Jigglypuff than with characters that the average would consider cheap like Mewtwo anyday. And Pichu being bottom speaks for itself.
Zelos - November 17, 2005 06:22 AM (GMT)
Hmm, I would say Lloyd Irving and Zelos Wilder, but they aren't techincally Nintendo characters, even though Tales of Symphonia is only on Gamecube, well, at least in the US (in Japan, it was ported to the PS2...)
However, I do have another one I would like to see. Get ready for,
ANIMAL CROSSING DUDE!
Controls would be as follows...
Motion Sensing: would be used instead of pressing up/down/left/right on the control stick to choose which attack you use. Just flick the controller in the right direction and press either the attack or special attack button at the same time to execute the attack. Without a button pressed it would be for quick smash attacks (like the C-stick in Melee)
A: Normal attacks
--Up: A weak uppercut
--Left/Right: A weak headbutt
--Down: A weak sweeping circular kick
B: Special attacks
--Up: Throws a random fruit into the air, randomly either hurting or healing whoever it hits.
--Left/Right: Swings a bug net for medium damage.
--Down: Plants a pitfall in front of you, which traps anyone who walks over it for about 10-15 seconds but only causes minimal damage.
Control Pad: Up, left, and right act as jump buttons, while down is for taunting. ACD taunts by mercillesly planting a magical tree which grows immediatly, then cutting it down with an axe, thus mocking nature activists everywhere, as well as implying there may be other things ACD would like to cut... Oh, how cruel ACD has become...
Control Stick (on Nunchaku attachment): Movement; can also be used to choose attacks just like the current games, however attacks performed this way would be weaker then if performed by flicking the contoller. Pressing up makes ACD jump.
Z1 (Nunchaku attachment): Grab enemies and throw items. ACD actually has two grabs. If you're close to someone he'll just grab them with his arms. You can proceed to then hit the A button to "shake" them (oh, yeah, I'm sure that what he's doing to Princess Peach. Yep, just a bit of shaking going on...). If you're lucky maybe they'll drop something! If no one is close, however, ACD pulls out a fishing rod and uses that to try to hook someone. The fishing rod can also be used like Link's Hook Shot to latch onto walls when you fall off the field.
Z2 (Nunchaku attachment): Shield and rolling (in conjunction with the contol stick). ACDs shield would be none other then either Tom Nook or Mr. Resetti, chosen randomly. Yep, either Tom Nook or Mr. Resetti will always be there to absorb your enemies attacks until he finally gives out and dies in a puff of smoke, only to come back next time you shield yourself if it is the random number generator's wish.
I'm to tired right now to think of smash attacks, maybe some time else...
