Title: Shadow Khan's Lounge: Battle Talk

Shadow Khan - July 24, 2004 06:56 PM (GMT)
I created this thread because ther were a lot of battles and quest getting started and going on when the site went down. Here we can talk about them.

*The toomis a nice plush lounge with pool tables and all cherry wood furniture and a bar. There are waitress about taking orders and the sound of idle conversation and the tinkling of glasses fills the air. Shadow Khan, the proprietor of this establishment, sits at a corner booth with Konig Warrior...*

"Okay i simply have to know the answer to theis question KW. In our last battle I want to honestly know if I had you by the ball bearings? What was going to be your next move?"

Tilly - July 24, 2004 07:02 PM (GMT)
"I just wish Rocke and I could finish a battle..."

Tilly is sitting in a chair, sipping water. Yes, plain water. She isn't tilting it...much...remembering what happened to Omari in Six Cats when he tried to tilt a chair in a kewlzies manner.

"I wonder where Rocke's got to, for that matter. Maybe this will work. OI! ROCKE! POKER!"

Shadow Khan - July 24, 2004 07:08 PM (GMT)
This was my first "official" battle and i was doing so well. Then *POOF*! All gone.
*SK sulks in his glass of sweet tea [with lemon of course]*

Tilly - July 24, 2004 07:14 PM (GMT)
"I feel your pain...Rocke and I once took 5 pages to start a battle-problems with space-time and some Mary Sues, it was-and then BAM!"

Tilly mimes explosions with her hands.

"Poker, anyone?"

There is a quite audible KIII from outside.

"...anyone besides Storch, that is."

(oh, look! It's this scary smiley!)

König Warrior - July 24, 2004 07:15 PM (GMT)
Actually SK, I replied to the battle... you were going way too over extreme, and thinking like you would need to on MMM, they changed things so you would have to think a certain way, that is why other rpgs consider their info flawed, they are different.

However despite that, you were doing ok SK.

What makes me sad is, I started the 3rd in my series of adventures, it was brilliant, but now it's gone, I remember where it left off, the first posts are the important ones. I still wish I could look at Zelos and Devil's Bounty too, but they were on earlier ZE's.

Tilly - July 24, 2004 07:24 PM (GMT)
"I miss the original random pairings thread...don't you, Mach?"

Mach winces. "Must you bring that thing up?"

"Hey, I'll take my claims to fame...er...infamy where I can get 'em. I mean, I didn't come up with something cool like "cheese-grater abs..."

Mach winces again. "We're supposed to be taking about battles."

There is a slight pause.

"You know, I could go for some cheese..."

Shadow Khan - July 24, 2004 07:26 PM (GMT)
*turns to tilly*

Never learned to play poker but i can put on a good bluff!LOL

*Turns to KW*

I'm used to studying, and using real world weapons and explosives. Also i was a physics/biolgy major. Was i too literal/realistic in battle?

König Warrior - July 24, 2004 07:29 PM (GMT)
Well that's part of it, you have to let some reality go, after all, we are pretending to battle in giant robotic animals with weapons. Plus not everything is the same as we know it, some things are a little different. We really don't have some of this weapon technology.

I know Retal was a physics major as well, but he seemed to have a good grasp on the concept too, however he was better because he knew what could and couldn't happen in a battle.

Shadow Khan - July 24, 2004 07:33 PM (GMT)
So what did I need to do diff? Since it was "artilliary shells" I was fireing. By their very nature they are long range and high explosive. I'm not bebating right or wrong BTW I'm just trying to 'play fair' so to speak. I'm a noob at battling so i will go with what ever is supposed to be.lol

König Warrior - July 24, 2004 07:35 PM (GMT)
Well long range, but I've never seen them explode in anyones face in the rpg, even Retal never acted as they did, though I knocked off his artilliary cannon with panzer earliy on.

That's another thing! I was so close to finally beating Retal! Those he still stood a chance, and now that battle will start over. That part does stink...

Shadow Khan - July 24, 2004 07:40 PM (GMT)
See "artillary" by it's very name implies "explosive shells". Bullets are just slugs while artilliary shells are giant slugs filled with explosive. That is the diff. My grndfather used artilliary cannons, 155mm to be exact, in WWII. Actually artillary can also be set to explode above a target as well to increase the blast area [splash damage] and shower everything with shrapnel. Good for killing infantry but tends to be less effective on tanks unless it's specialized for that purpose.

Yeah i REALLY wantedto see how you and retal's battle would end. :D

König Warrior - July 24, 2004 07:41 PM (GMT)
Well, perhaps it's different on Zi then, I don't know, but they never seemed to do that.

Shadow Khan - July 24, 2004 07:57 PM (GMT)
Probly because no one "knew" they do that. Everyone is fighting with "hypothetical weapons" but no one seems to bother to find out what the real world counter part does or what it "should do". A person "robs themself" by not doing so. CPC's aren't real but the particles still obey the laws of physics and can be affected by magnetic fields. That's why the sheilds work. A Beam conon is a beam canon because it fires a beam, be it photons or electrons, and an artilliary cannon fires artillary. If not then it should not be called an artillary cannon. I was just using the title it was given. All I'm saying is if ya call it a "duck" then it ought to be a "duck".lol
If I use a flame thrower then i'm going to state whether it is a liquid or gas flame thrower. The effect is different for obvious reasons.
I'm not argueing I'm just giving my rationel on "why i do what I do" and that I am not pulling this stuff out of thin air!LOL
So if the rules say fuzzy pink bunnies can stop CPCs then that is fine by me and I will abide. So long as i know what i'm working with!lol

König Warrior - July 24, 2004 08:01 PM (GMT)
Lol, I get your point SK, but thanks to people like Phelan, the rpg obeys the laws of physics, Phelan made the physics guide... and will have to again. Mainly for newbies in the rpg.

Shadow Khan - July 24, 2004 08:25 PM (GMT)
You still didn't answer my question. You have a DH flanking you firing artillary and 80mm beam weapons at you, Your tail's stuck in the ground like grandma's old oak tree. What do you do what do you do?

Tilly - July 24, 2004 08:54 PM (GMT)
"I teleport, silly. That is, if Tilly remembers I can do that..." Mach sips a glass of some fruit-looking beverage he's aquired from who knows where. How he can sip is unknown...same with why he needs to drink.

"Aw, shush. He wasn't talking to you anyway."

Shadow Khan - July 24, 2004 09:01 PM (GMT)
Fortunately for for me KW's Liger X does not possess that ability!lol

König Warrior - July 24, 2004 10:25 PM (GMT)
It could of, but that's not what I did, I replied to the battle, the board just deleted before you saw.

Kirbymaster212 - July 24, 2004 11:18 PM (GMT)
Well Im not sad because I wasn't in the RPG *dodges large, pointy, hard, obeject thrown at him from people in the RPG* ok, ok, yeah Im a bit sad, I just got my first "hot" post....

Shadow Khan - July 25, 2004 12:59 AM (GMT)
QUOTE (König Warrior @ Jul 24 2004, 06:25 PM)
It could of, but that's not what I did, I replied to the battle, the board just deleted before you saw.

That sucks. BTW I still keep noticing that you dodge the question KW!LOL
That's okay, you can save your 'wascally wabbit tricks for next time'!LOL
I had a plan too. But this prob the last time you start out with the X armor though. <_< oh well it was till great practice!LOL But it still gave you a feel for the way I battle. I no longer have an element of surprise or "mystique" about me.lol :P

König Warrior - July 25, 2004 02:36 AM (GMT)
Also, I'm not at my best in a Liger Zero, especially the X armor. I work my best in the Heavy Arms KW. I do second best probably in Panzer or Schneider. X is cool but doesn't have as much good options, and Jäger sucks combat-wise. I also have a BF, but I'm not best at it. Only fair.

Shadow Khan - July 25, 2004 03:21 AM (GMT)
I might regret saying this but the KW is the zoid i most dread fighting. Fast , manuverable, and sporting longrange highpowered rounds and an accurrate targeting system. Deadly combination. I rather face the panzer!lol

König Warrior - July 25, 2004 03:29 AM (GMT)
Lol, really, well KW is a beaut. All you said, and the DSR can rotate 360 degrees to boot. Plus it has deadly close range stuff with the Electron Strike Claws and Electron Bite Fangs, enough of those and the zoid is electrocuted to CSF... but they are usually last resort. Also the AZ5 Missile pods, more mid-range than the others, so it's well balanced. Also the KW has night vision and infared in the scope, especially useful when enveloped in a thick steam cloud.

Shadow Khan - July 25, 2004 03:46 AM (GMT)
D@MN! i forgot about the 360 degrees! THAT sucks. See i only use zoids that have 360 degree weapons. Even teh custome blade liger I used in adventures was equiped with TWO dark horn tri-artilliary cannons. One for each flank. Shot cannon and sheild liger missile boxes covered the front feild of fire. I designed it primarily as a "blockade runner". It all came in handy to because in my first bout with Legato he surounded me with a hundred or so Rev raptors I had to blast my way through.lol

König Warrior - July 25, 2004 03:49 AM (GMT)
Really. Well even those the DSR has full 360 degree turning radius, and auto lock(up to 300 km/h), it is a sniper rifle and can only fire one round every 5 seconds. However it IS a Sniper rifle so those shots hurt.

After all I said can you not see why I love the KW! Besides it being a wolf (that's what originally attracted me)

Tilly - July 25, 2004 03:53 AM (GMT)
...and it can't shoot directly above it. SAM Bird Missiiiiile!

*Tilly poses overly dramatically*

...whaaat? At least I didn't say "bye bye, wolfie..."

König Warrior - July 25, 2004 03:54 AM (GMT)
Yes, that is the DSR's main weakness, it can only rotate horizontally, not vertically. However, lean forward or backward to aim up or down can work.

Tilly - July 25, 2004 04:03 AM (GMT)
Not if you hover right above it and call it silly names!

...well, this has gotten silly. I'm sorry.

Shadow Khan - July 25, 2004 04:03 AM (GMT)
I will not deny that Koenig Kicks major butt! It's just too popular for me. See i remeber how popular you made KW's a few ZE's ago and it being discussed on a thread. So i looked elswere fo my "perfect" zoid. Still hadn't found it until I came up with my blade liger custom. The Dark Horn is the next best thing to it. Actually i'm not a big Blade Liger fan. It's just that when at the time every other person on ZE was using a BF or one of those other CPC packin' lizards the blade was the only zoid with a built in sheild strong enough to face it. I like the Horns because of their section of weapons, 360 degree, weapons coverage, and heavy armor. Speed isn't THAT important too me. I don't need a lot of speed if I have a longe range cannon i can point in any directon. Realisticly you can't "dodge" most weapons fire anyways esp beam weapons which move at the speed of light!lol
A Horn with out a Cp has TWO separate cannons I can target indepentantly while the Cp places them all on one mount.

König Warrior - July 25, 2004 04:06 AM (GMT)
Yes I understand what you mean.

Also I don't know if I really am the one who made KW's so popular in ZE, it just seemed like after I showed up using it, more and more people used it.

Shadow Khan - July 25, 2004 04:14 AM (GMT)
Well in the particular thread i was speaking of you were telling of it's benifits and how popular it was!lol I like looking for the "under dog" and bringing out it's benifits. i even found a use for that "sulfuric acid powder cannon" which at first look i had immediately deemed useless!lol Yeah i am quick gaining an affection for the horn. I'm taking a closer look at he gojulas now as a serious zoid and not just an adventure device. Retal recommends that i also take a second look at the elephander as well which he tells me he has kicked serious butt in. The phnder was Another zoid i had always deemed too slow. Buuuut now.....
lol

König Warrior - July 25, 2004 04:16 AM (GMT)
Well, I'll say this, Retal does kick serious butt in the Elephander... It was a close battle me an him, he locked me KW's leg with the trunk's chain and I bit my electrofang on the chain, shocking us both, he made a shot for me neck while doing that, we both CSFed but I got the judges call of going first, so he beat me that time.

Tilly - July 25, 2004 04:37 AM (GMT)
Yay, someone who likes the stompy Zoids! They deserve some more regonition, yes...

I seem to gravitate towards other stuff...but it's more random than anything with me.

Shadow Khan - July 25, 2004 05:23 PM (GMT)
Primarily I like varity in a zoid. multiple types of weapons to choose from so that i can adapt to any situation. Kinda like the "swiss army knife" type of zoids.

Tilly - July 25, 2004 11:12 PM (GMT)
The Horn family definitely qualifies for that, imo...same with Shield Liger (preferably with CP-01) and Saber Tiger (preferably with CP-02 or Geno Saurer guns)...and maybe Command Wolf, depending on what you have on it.

Shadow Khan - July 25, 2004 11:25 PM (GMT)
I agree totally! I have been toying with adding a sheild liger with beam cannons and an Urban Combat Command Wolf to my selection of battle zoids. I had a Sbre Tiger on the list but I had to make some cuts to my bio on the ast ZE board because my bio was too long!lol I won't have that prob here tho! [that is if we stay here... ]
