Title: Rules Rewrite
JammerLea - January 26, 2006 12:33 AM (GMT)
I
finally got to it.
The rules have been retouched on Zoids Evolution Forums (ZEF).
Check Them Out!A lot shorter of a list, huh?
Since ZEF is not as big a community as it used to be, it's been decided that we don't need the extensive rule system we had before.
What does this mean? There may be less rules, but these are the ones that are most important to us, therefore,
if you break them, you'll get in trouble fast. Most of these should be pretty average for any message board, so there's no way that your community experience should be hurt with the enforcement of these rules.
Also, if you've noticed, the warning system has been removed. This does not mean the staff isn't paying attention to members' actions though. Don't push your luck.
ExtraThere are two more tasks I'd like to do yet.
1. Add a website feedback forum so members can advertise their sites and get, well, feedback on the design and content. This is to encourage more discussion on the sites, rather than just a regular advertisement post. The forum would also be members only.
My only problem is coming up with a decent name for the forum that doesn't sound like general advertising or like a feedback forum for ZEF. Any suggestions would be appreciated. It'll go up as soon as I get a name.
2.
I'd like to phase out the spam forum. No, not to kill people's fun. Since we're going to be a bit more lenient with posts and the natural flow of discussion, I think there are a good deal of topics that will fit just fine in the General forum (which has been kind of slow) and the Zoids General forum.
So I encourage any possible spam topics to be created in those two forums. If you have a spam topic that you would like moved to either of those forums, please inform me here or through PM. In time (not immediately) I'll make the spam forum "view only" and weed out any leftovers before discontinuing that forum permanently, because I know someone will probably end up flipping out if they didn't read this announcement.Questions? Comments?

Good move killing that blasted spam forum. It feels like half of the new topics are in that thing... it'd be more constructive to have topics occuring elsewhere, I think.
JammerLea - January 26, 2006 01:30 AM (GMT)
Yeah, I think so too. It's not closed just yet... I should probably post a second announcement there too. Eh, after I doodle for a while. XD *lazy*

This is like putting the nail on the coffin. You're going backwards in terms of progress.
If you haven't realized it yet...then I don't know what to say....
At least you listened to the feedback idea.
yay...so now my spam topics count as posts?
König Warrior - January 26, 2006 04:12 AM (GMT)
I think the idea is for them not to be spam topics anymore, but actual topics, so perhaps with some thought behind the posts, but regardless.. that does seem the case.
MrGuy - January 26, 2006 07:51 PM (GMT)
So there's no sig limit anymore?
Tilly - January 26, 2006 07:58 PM (GMT)
I don't know, but if you make your sig too big I'll poke you.
*prods Steve with a stick* Crop, you!
JammerLea - January 26, 2006 08:04 PM (GMT)
If people can keep their sigs a reasonable size then no, there'll be no sig rule. If they are too big, we'll poke them. If there are a LOT that end up too big, the rule will be reinstated.
I still have all the old rules backed up.
ZeRoRaVeN - January 26, 2006 08:07 PM (GMT)
Personally I never had a problem with the rules really.

Holy crap, you guys are on the ball today.
Nice to know about the sig though. I respect a compact sig as much as the next guy, but it's a pain when an image is smushed into crap after you've worked hours on it... especially when unsmushing it just requires an additional 25 pixels.

no sig rule , rulez.., but I am curious..Tell me if my sig seems to big ,and I'll resize it..
The rules seems so petek , yet so strong. Well done Jammer, I think those are going to hold off quit well...
