Title: It's been a crazy 3 years...

Atrophy Within - February 1, 2006 07:13 PM (GMT)
Not too late in 2003 or so, I stumbled upon this forum, powered at the time by VBullitin (I think). I joined under the name LycanSaixIrvine and posted regularly. I enjoyed the forums debates, and threads, and was on no less than 10 hours a day. Ah, now that was when the forum was really kicking at full swing. 30 mebers on at onces, ect.

I got to know alot of members, and some I grew to like, others, not so much. Fuznist, Legato, Konig Warrior (who at first I thought was a girl for a whole year :P), Plink, Zinou, ect. Some members I didn't really like, however, they were few in numbers. For the most part, I enjoyed this forum to tis fullest, and read every single post to ever be made. learning others personalities and likes due to that.

I got a real good feel for everyone here, and greeted and welcomed newcomers frequently. ZE was like a second home to me, since my real home was always so busy, and unwelcoming. I was always on the go, and work 70 horus a week or more. It was nuts, so when I hooked up my internet, and turned on the computer, there was a whole new world to explore, and enjoy freely.

Well, eventually my name changed to LycanWolfBlade, and thus, marked the beginning of my entry into the ZE RPG. I applied and got excepted, which I prided in, cause at the time applicants were constantly requested to redo their applications, and I got in without needing to redo anything. I shorty after posted my first battle challenge.

I battles alot of RPG members, from the great Retaliation, and Legato, to Blade, Konig Warrior, and some less memerable members. I had alot of fun, and from their openned a custom shop, where I unleashed the evil Cataclysm. I had alot of fun in the RPG, needless to say, as I slowly inched my way towards the Adventures and Quests section.

There is where the events took place that led up to the reaosn I'm posting this thread.

Zoids Bar, or whatever the thread was called. It was a run down bar, and people could bring their characters to cause trouble, or have fun. Indulging in the occasional, or not so occasional drink was my characters main attraction to the thread, also my urge for some different interaction between members of the RPG, asside from Zoid battles.

My characters entry to that bar, will forever be a vision in my mind, as she did so, and had her drinks, soon after sparking up a conversation with a fellow bar enthusiast, BlackChaos13's Character. Soon after our characters became friends, and things increased, all the way till we decided it would be cool for our characters to fall in love, and marry. We did so, and had alot of fun doing it. Little did me know our imaginary character relationship would spark into a real one, between myself and BlackChaos13 (Brandon).

For over 2 years we have talked as friends at first, and now partners. RPed with our characters for fun, and found a deep and caring friendship between ourselves. We have had our ups and downs, problems, and such, that leaked into the forum a few times, and yes, evil brothers and crazy stories. :P However, one thing has always remained... the good times, and the bad have always ended in our friendship, and only made us closer, and over time, we began to have further interest than just a friendship.

Our close friendship bloomed into a relationship, over a year in the making now, of us talking every single day, for hours and hours on end. had our ups and downs, but still leveled out, and now here we are, only a month away from the big day, when Brandon comes here to michigan, to live with me in my apartment I'm getting in th next month. A wedding hoping to take place in 2007, followed by a honeymoon on one of the most romantic cruise vacations I could find.

We've been debating wether or not to annouce this on ZE. mainly becuase I was worried, if we failed at this relationship, it would be embarassing to remain on ZE< hating each other. However, as long as this has lasted, and as long as we have been able to cope with our small quirks, ect, I know that we can, and will get through anything life throws at us.

We both may say stupid things at times, and do stupid thinks out of fear, but we have both agreed in making this life long decision. And I just wanted to let all of you know, what you already had an idea of. this means alot to me and Brandon, and ZE is the sole reason this ever happened.

Its amazing how RPing could lead to something so great, and genuine. All because my character was an alcoholic. :P :P :P

I just wanted to include all of you in this story of ours, because all of you, who wehere here, and gave me a reason to join the forum, for your humor, and interesting topics, and for your skills in the RPG, that kept me interested, helped in making this relationship possible. I know you had no concious intentions of it, or knownledge of what would happen, however, it doesn't matter to me.

I'm very proud to be a member of this forum, of which why mine never did well. I was too devoted to this forum. I look forward to ZE living for yet another 3 years, and then some. I'll support it till the day its gone forever, and even then, its memory will hold close to me, for all the greatness that has resulted from me joining. I know Brandon feels the same way.

He is gonna be online soon, so I'm wondering what he will say when he reads this very long post, but... hehe I know he has wanted to post the same thing for months. I was just afraid you guys wouldn't care, but meh. I had the time today, and the good mood and spirit, to post it, so here it is.

I'll be sure to post pictures of our wedding and honeymoon (the non naughty ones :P :P :P) in a thread when those days come. :D

(Goes back to not being mushy) Gah, I'm usually not in such a pleasent mood. Its scary. *thinks of something evil and plots world destruction again* ^_^

...3 years?! (well, actually, more like 2 for you)

I remember back before vBulletin! Infact, I remember the very first ZE forums... which must be about 3 years ago now. Blimey, quite some time I've been here then.

I also wish you the best with your fiancee. :)

The Zombie - February 1, 2006 07:48 PM (GMT)
I'm not really sure what TO say, but that I have alot of the same feelings that my love has said. I agree for the most part with every word she has said. i am extremely grateful to everyone here. Especially to Duowolf who created ZE.

My first taste of ZE came with the request if she would like to host the Zoids Saga 2 Hacking Guide I wrote long ago, on ZE. She agreed and I soon came to Ze and just wandered about and looked at the site. I had no experience with message boards other than the one's at game faqs. However, I decided to join the boards here to see what would come. Little did i know all that has happened would come to be. All that mny love has said, from my tweedledum evil brother, to meeting in the bar topic in the rpg, to our planned life together sometime later this month or in early march...

I can't really say much, but that i'm exhilirated and excstatic. Wishi could say more, but my fiancee has already said it all! hehe

*slides in*

Great, I'm a lesser member now? Anyway, congratulations, and I hereby claim some stake in helping it happen, considering I've talked to you BOTH a lot here (and sometimes I think you hung around for a while just waiting for another battle with me, Lycan, which I may just give you yet....No promises though :P ). But best of luck to both of you. Just don't forget about the rest of us.

Atrophy Within - February 1, 2006 08:25 PM (GMT)
*huggles* Yeah yeah, maverick, I didn't forget you. I just was drawing a blank for who's names to post, and I wasn't sure if you joined around the time frame I was refering to at the beginning. :P

I originally typed out your name, but deleted it when I was putting names in order, and didn't add you back.. *beats brain* :P

And thanks sir Maverick, lord of the Sword Liger. :P

Sir Maverick - February 1, 2006 08:26 PM (GMT)
*bows gracefully, and reminds self that he should probably get that sucker re-approved to be brought back into the RPG for anyone crazy enough to try and pilot it*

JammerLea - February 1, 2006 08:58 PM (GMT)
Congrats to you two! I hope everything works out. ^_^

I know I think of you, Lycan, everytime I'm in the Detroit area. XD I think I actually was in your neck of the woods last time. o_o

I'm really happy that ZE has such devoted members. During slow times like this, they're the ones that keep the forums going. Thanks so much. <3

Hopefully within the next month if things go well.

And I definitely would like Jammer to be at the wedding. ^_^ We can get pics of me, my lovely bride, and Jammer lol, then post them on the boards and stuff. As for including the forum in the wedding. That could be done with the aide of a camera, and a video recorder. Transfer it to computer in a WMV or another format. We could aslo do a live webcast using a webcam and microphone too if we could do that. But meh, plenty of time to plan that. And a banner would be awesome and stuff. His and her zoids? Dark Spiner and Mugen Liger lol... XP Both custom painted and detailed and stuff. ^_^ Maybe some other zoids lol... Just keep HaTcH away from them... :P :P :P

JammerLea - February 1, 2006 11:36 PM (GMT)
Teehee, that would be interesting. ^^ Keep me informed and we'll see what happens. =3

Tilly - February 2, 2006 12:48 AM (GMT)
I'd be able to go if not totally broke and if I could stay at someone's house...I like buses :p.

Though be warned, I've always wanted to show up at a wedding in jeans and tie-dye.

If I ever get married, I'll have to remember to invite you to mine. I refuse to do a formal wedding, so that might just work....

Tilly - February 2, 2006 02:37 AM (GMT)
If I can get money for a bus ticket I really should show up. Can you do all regions or play Xvid avis off a disc? I could bring Fuzors then...

JammerLea - February 2, 2006 02:39 AM (GMT)
I don't have anything that plays all regions, but I should be able to play Avi files without any trouble. ^_^

Scottfab - February 2, 2006 07:13 AM (GMT)
I thought you were leaving the forum. Little did I know how scary this thread would truely be...

Though it is nice to see love bloom. I mean, you've met each other in person before you decided to marry, right? Please tell me you did.

I'm actually reminded of a true horror story someone told me. My friend's friend was an anime roleplayer. She would always roleplay with a guy she knew. They came to be good friends. Their roleplaying characters fell in love, got married, and even they started developing real feelings for each other. Sounds familiar. Then one day he decided to pay her a visit. Since she was a virgin, she was easily seduced by him and his attempts to port their rp relationship into real life. After he got his carnal desires fufilled, he went home. They continued to rp, until a month later, the girl realized with horror she was pregnant. Well, the girl was anti abortion and didnt want to give up for adoption, so she ended up keeping the child. Her plans to finish college had to be cancelled. She grew to hate the man who ruined her dreams. So now, the man who lives a dozen states away, who she only met once, sends her a child support check in the mail and they're both miserable.

But apparently that didnt happen, since you're getting married and apparently not pregnant yet. So congrats.

Technically, this isnt news, by the way. You accidentally let it slip in the thread where he was talking about the anniversary of his ex's death.

Tilly - February 2, 2006 07:28 AM (GMT)
Don't marriage laws say you have to have met someone and wait a bit before getting married, barring arranged marriage? Pretty sure UK ones do, anyway. I haven't bothered poking US ones...

JammerLea - February 2, 2006 07:37 AM (GMT)
I don't know about that, though I can at least attest to knowing a few long distance relationships that have worked. My parents being one of them...

Momonga - February 2, 2006 08:10 AM (GMT)
Congratulations, both of you~!

Which in and of itself can be one of the scariest things on the face of the planet.

I dont think so. I've never heard it before...

Momonga, internet love = scary. Happy ending perhaps, but scary nonetheless. I suppose this is one of those cases of the ends justifying the means. I've heard worse cases, to be honest. Like Everquest marriages becoming real, for example.

Everquest weddings? *dies laughing*

Well, we haven't met in person per say, however, we have been tlaking every single day for 2 years, about 7 hours a day on phone, AIM, yahoo, and everytime we used the computer, we were on our webcams, so its more like, to compare to an in person relationship, with the webcams, its like we were just sitting across from each other talking, and having fun with each others company.

We couldn't per say go for a walk, or go out to eat... But we have talked on the hpone while we each did something. Even if we are miles apart, we still did stuff together, in some sort of weird, imaginative way.

And its not like when we meet we are going to get married that instant. Not till 2007 at least, for us to get to know each other in a physical manner, in person. Personalities differ from that reflected online, than in person. So when he comes to Michigan, it'll be a whole different thing, but, sicne we talk so much, we know each other inside and out.

Instead of focusing on how we dress, or look, or act... We talk talk talk. We get a really good visual of the person from within. You can dress like a big tough guy, and act like one, but you can't hide your true self from someone with such long conversations, and such.

I know most internet influences relationships don't last, but thats cause the dumb people involved jump the gun and start dating weeks after they meet. We waited a few years to get to this point.

You would probubly have to be in the same situation, to understand what I'm talking about, but non the less, I'm in agreeance with you Scottfab. I always thought the same thing, and still do. I just think me and Brandon are acceptions to the fact of what I beleive, simply due to everythine thats happened, ect.

The Zombie - February 3, 2006 07:20 PM (GMT)
ALOT has happened, and I am surprised things are where they are right now... But one cannot argue... I am grateful things are the way they are now.

Scottfab - February 4, 2006 08:17 AM (GMT)
Well, as long as you atleast date in person for awhile before you tie said knot, it should all work out. But wait 6 months, minimum. Your '07 idea sounds right.
