You don't know how bad it actually is. This isn't that bad here, but there's some forums where it's really bad and you get all these welcome topics weeks, sometimes months after they've joined.

The point of a introduction topic is to let people who've been at the forums for some time to welcome new people and make them feel welcomed.

We'll just lie and say I read the netiquette. But its also common manners that you don't correct someone when they are just trying to have a good time.

Yesterday I was doing research on internet culture (for a paper) on databases and I found an article specifically on netiquette. They made a list of the some netiquette rules that are becoming norm. My favorite is that "Know when to shut up" is listed before "Know when it's OK to talk." XD

As for correcting people when they're having a good time, well, that really depends on what they're doing and if it may cause any trouble to that person or others.

For here though, since it's NOT really bad and we don't get weeks of sporadic welcome topics, I don't mind too much. Though on the same level, this isn't much of an introduction topic in its own right. You didn't tell us anything about yourself at all! SHAME!
