Yeah, I don't use character map either, it is a waste of time. ö = Alt+0246.

I can't figure out Tilly's code.. none of them seems to do anything..

Fn is the 'function' key and I don't know of any desktops that use it. Its mainly a notebook thing ;P

If I cared enough, I would just copy your name from the board somewhere and paste it in. Thats the easiest/non intuitave way.

If I hit alt+0246 it does nothing. Fn+F9 is pad lock, which makes some of the letters act as numbers, and thus alt+mkuo (0246) works. I have to then turn it back off, 6r 0y ty*5ng 3662s 352e th5s.

Like I said...laptop keyboards can be special.

You have a USB port where I like to rest my arm when using my mouse O_o. The touchpad gets old fast, so I don't use it much...I used to.

Actually, theres 2 usb ports there, and 2 more on the other side, somewhat in the middle. I usually plug into that side anyway, as thats where the ethernet and power ports are.

This thing is awesome.. I even got the wireless to work on linux! I'm so excited!

As a matter of fact, I went out last night around midnight, took the laptop (running Linux->KDE) and me and my mom were looking at stars using the KStars 3D Planetarium software as a guide. We saw Jupiter and saturn and some random star who I forgot the name of.

That sounds awesome Hatch, I love stargazing with the help of technology.. wish I had those programs.. and a laptop with wireless access... Dang us and our not having money.

Linux is free, as is KDE, which inately comes with Kstars :P

Linux can also be installed in pretty much any computer.. So I guess the only limitation is to get the actual laptop, eh KW?

We are talking about laptops and linux, which came from Tilly and Hatch explaining only laptops have the function key, which was brought up to explain how Tilly does the ö letter and how it is different from desktops. This was all because I was noting that I used the ö in my name where the newcomer who was introducing themselves does not.
