Wow, people care about national emo beatdown day and dont even think of what today really is. This day in 1944 thosands died trying to take back freedom. Today is the 61 anniversary of D-Day. So far today I only heard like 1 mention of it. More people should remember this with or with out the Queen visiting Normandy(last year everyone knew cause of that).

Emo is the definition of an attention seeking, depressed, and self mutilating, self loathing, child. I say child because its not often you fond adults who act as immature as often as the kids who claim to be emo.

I cannot stand people who complain about their life, or a few mishapes, and act all sad. Especially when they only just want attention. Its stupid, childish, and retarded.

I read the part where it said that, and it wasn't particulary clear, in some translations it doesn't appear as 666 exactly either.

It's reference is also to beast, which is frequently thought to refer to Satan. It's not all definite.

As opposed to people whinging that waaaah, people are complaining in their online journals and so on? Crap happens, people write about it-it DOES help to say things where others can technically see them, if only to feel like someone's listening. Even if no one is, it's better than just talking to yourself :p.

Not to mention some people that are upset are actually upset, and not just playing for attention. My god, people actually have feelings! Well on the 666 616 issue, 666 is the way its put when its translated into english. Many historians believe this maybe a case of a wrong translation. Many old documents (some older than the bible) held within the Dead Sea scrolls show 616 as the mark of the beast and 666 as the sign of anti-Christ. Anti-Christ meaning in place of and not necessarily against or simply put fake christ.

I always rant about my problems, but to good friends or in online journals.. I have a lot of problems, so I think I have a right to complain.. although I am sure people have it worse, and people have it better.. Suffering is a part of life, y'know.. and it's been proven that writing about problems causes less sicknesses and hospital visits and better overall health.

The problem I have is with destructive behaviors.. Wrist slitting, drug use/abuse, alcohol use/abuse, promiscious sex, etc.. That doesn't solve anything, just makes it worse.. Don't want to get too preachy, but I feel VERY strongly about this issue.

It is good to have someone to listen, too.. Frankly, I don't really have anyone, except my one friend, and he has things of his own to deal with.. Thankfully there's always my guitar and my cat.. and my LJ.. hahaha..

Oh, agreed there. There's a difference between ranting and slashing your wrists...though I don't like people making light of that either. I've never had to deal with cutting, but it seems a variant on obsessive-compulsize behavior to me, and I know firsthand that can really suck.

People say "just don't do it", and it's NOT that simple-true OCD they've found your brain actually writes the bad patterns and the like leading to it, so it ends up like...a mental addiction, if that makes sense. That's not to say it's an excuse to wallow in it (it sure as hell isn't), but if "just don't do it" worked, there wouldn't be so many stop smoking products, would there?

In a way, the people doing stuff like that for attention are making it so people with real problems with it aren't taken seriously. Nice, that x_X.

Addiction is definitely a hard thing to overcome.. there is no simple answer..

Yeah.. I can't stand people who post that they are going to kill themselves when they really aren't.. When they try to make others feel guilty for their doings by using suicide threats and so on..

Not to mention, some people like to say things just to get them out there. Like Tilly was saying, it often helps to talk (or in this case) post/chat about it.
