Title: Music concerts anyone?
Atrophy Within - June 20, 2006 11:26 PM (GMT)
I just figured I would make a thread, cause you know, I love making threads, and see what concerts all of you have attended. So yeah, list all the concerts you have attended.
For me, I've seen these that come to mind.
Eric Clapton
Tom Jones
Tower of Power
Slipknot (waste of money. BIGTIME)
Gwar
Ozzfest (twice)
Korn (also a waste of time)
Stabbing Westward
The Dreaming
Nine Inch Nails (7 times now)
Tom Petty
Ted Nuggent
Hmmm, there are some more, but they are local bands. Some are good, some jsut plain suck. :P
I saw Metallica when I was younger a few times, but I was so drunk for their concerts I barely remember then. :P This is why cameras are the memory keepers. :P
xXfriedenXx - June 21, 2006 12:24 AM (GMT)
How was Tom Jones? XD
I've never been to a concert before, unless school band concerts that I played in count. lol.
I'd LOVE to see the following though:
The Cardigans
Rhapsody
Iron Maiden
Queensryche
Dream Theater
Testament
Hdorriker - June 21, 2006 03:35 AM (GMT)
Some bands I remember seeing recently:
Ande
Chris Barry
Of Montreal
Fischerspooner
Massive Attack
The Decembrists
8-OM
Chris Stibrany
HaTcH - June 21, 2006 04:15 AM (GMT)
The Who
Paul McCartney
and various classical-esque concerts.
Rocke&Roll - June 22, 2006 03:33 AM (GMT)
I can't remember half the outdoor concerts I've been to. Anyway, some of these people were on at the same concerts so they're counted twice:
- Keays, Cotton & Morris (2)
- Guitar Wolf
- Missy Higgins (2)
- Ben Lee
- Paul Kelly
- Ash Grunwald (2)
- Darling Downs
- Kate Miller-Heidke
- Tripod
- The Whitlams (4 plus one solo show by the lead singer)
- Vika & Linda Bull
- Amune System
- Dire Straits
- John Farnham
The last two I suppose I wasn't really *at* as I was in utero at the time. I wonder about my mum - I don't know that many women go to rock concerts when they're pregnant. I think she might have seen Deep Purple when she was pregnant as well. Jeez.
I'm sure I've been to more gigs than that, but that's all I can remember off the top of my head.
Tilly - June 22, 2006 03:54 AM (GMT)
Nothing. I suck.
I'm still very annoyed at missing Jethro Tull because no one else in my family liked them enough to go and I couldn't find anyone else to go with. YARGH.
Sometime they will tour again. And I will find a way to be there, come hell or high water :p.
JammerLea - June 22, 2006 05:56 AM (GMT)
I've seen a fair amount, but I dunno how impressive it all is... >_> uhh... I've seen...
1964 the Tribute - Beatles Tribute band (3 times o_o)
Bela Fleck, Stanley Clarke, Jean-Luc Ponty
Herman's Hermits & the Grass Roots
Gordon Lightfoot
Manhatten Transfer
Peter, Paul & Mary
Teen Idols Tour (Peter Noone, Davy Jones, Bobby Sherman)
Through a city band's annual Christmas concerts, I've seen Ben Vereen, Tony Orlando, Shirley Jones, Glen Campbell, Judy Collins and various others I forget...
Yeah, most of these people I know because of my parents.
I'm forgetting others, but I usually keep my ticket stubs... I just don't have them at my apartment.
My favorite out of those performers would have to be Peter Noone (Herman's Hermits) because he's quite the crowd pleaser and very appreciative of his fans. I've chatted with him online before and he's just cool. (IMHO) And "Henry VIII" is one of the best songs ever. >_> (again IMHO XD)
*EDIT* (yay found some ticket stubs!)

Jul 9, 2005 - Mindi Abair
Oct 25, 2003 - Peter, Paul and Mary

ZeRoRaVeN - June 22, 2006 09:48 PM (GMT)
On a slightly off topic note, the Pillows are playing in New York City today. While some of my friends opted to go, I didn't want to waste money on tickets.

I missed Tull as well. Had we been in the same country at the right time I sooooo would have gone with you. Ditto REM. T_T
Atrophy Within - June 23, 2006 01:05 AM (GMT)
Late Night Cookie? Silly name. :D
Lots of Concerts, yay. I went through my ticket stub drawer, and found some more.
Korn
Avenged Sevenfold
Creed (4 times)
311
Michael Jackson (I was 5)
Wayne Newton (Viva Las Vegas)
Kittie
Linkin Park
There are a crap load more in the box, but I don't have the time right now to type them all. Got to go to work soon.
Seeing NIN for the 7th time now I think when they get here. Slayer concert is next month I'm going to. Hmmm.. Rob Zombie and Godsmack is in September, already got me tickets for that, for pavillion. If Tom Jones comes back to the Jerome Duncan Theater, I will go to that, as well Tom Petty and Ted Nugent.
I think White Lion is coming again, so they will be fun. I love right by Jerome Duncan, and since my friend does the light effects for the smaller bands that headline the bigger ones, he gets in free, and all his friend do too. He has the coolest job. :D During the winter when the theater is closed, since its outdoors, he works at Hockey Town Cafe, so we get tickets for Red Wings. Fun fun, too bad I hate the Red Wings. :P
Straya - June 23, 2006 01:47 AM (GMT)
Well, none of the bands I really like enough to go to their concerts, don't tour in Georgia... or even the US. At least not yet... but these are the ones I wish to go too...
Rammstein
Oomph!
In Extremo
KMFDM (Acually ARE coming down to Georgia in October!!!)
Blutengel
... and I know alot of other bands that I would probably go see if they did come. :P
I mainly just go too concerts by local bands... which, all but one, are metal of some sort.
Obl1v1on - June 23, 2006 02:01 AM (GMT)
Motion City Soundtrack
Okgo
Hellogoodbye
Acceptance
The Academy Is...
Panic! At The Disco
Plain White T's
Spill Canvas (Their van broke down, so they weren't there, so I dunnof if that counts...)
The Darkness (Not proud of that one)
I was gonna go to Warped, but decided not to because I only liked a few of the bands there, and the rest pretty much sucked in my opinion. Coupla friends went though.
Almost broke my nose at one in the mosh pit, haha, fun times.....ow.
Fury OD - June 24, 2006 01:04 AM (GMT)
Me too...

hybridligerx - June 24, 2006 01:20 AM (GMT)
One and only one. but it was so cool
Warped Tour!! we saw MCR, A7X, and others.
We even got to go backstag cause they needed help feeding the bands and techies. After 2 hrs, we were given the backstage passes we were promised. then they sent us on are jolly way...without introducing us to the bands...like they said they would. But who cares! I got to give vegan friendly rice to the drummer in A7X!!! GO ME!!

Ditto.
Unless you count ones I saw at school. In which case I've seen Tadpole, Pluto, Zed, and another band I can't remember the name of :D
My friend won a competition on the radio a while ago. She got to go backstage and everything at a Shihad concert.. as long as she took her grandmother with her :P
Mystickskye - June 24, 2006 09:57 AM (GMT)
Seeing Zed, Pluto and Tadpole counts in my opinion. Even if it was just a school hall it's still a concert on a small scale xp
My friend won free tickets to Summer Jam to see Zed, Elemeno P, Nesian Mystick and some other not so great bands and that was average. Elemeno P was probably the best performance that day.
I'm ashamed to say I haven't been to many other concerts and there has been a decent amount of homegrown and offshore talent performing in Christchurch so there's no real excuse.
master666 - June 24, 2006 09:57 AM (GMT)
I seen pulp when I was 10, and whetus. (Or however you spell that)
Hetman - June 24, 2006 12:34 PM (GMT)
- Nightwish (before Tarja got the boot)
- Disturbed, Ten Years, Hatebreed and KoRn concert.
- 50 cent, G-Unit and Lil John (I swear! I only went for Lil John!)
All the bands I wanna see never come by Australia or I absolutely miss it. ><
kaigeta - June 25, 2006 01:13 AM (GMT)
Going to shows is my favorite thing to do.

Tarja was a B*tch. I admit, her vocals, were awesome, and she impressed me a great deal, but not a single song, she assisted in writting, she never even bothered to reherse. She was thick-headed, always thinking SHE was Nightwish, not the rest of the band as a whole. She has no talent asside from her voice, and she can't do much of anything.
If anything, her being forced to leave leads to much better things. I ahven't checked back though to see if anything new has come up, but no doubt they are working to put out more music, with a better vocalist.
I have the letter from Tuomas to Tarja on my comp still. >.< She pisses me off greatly.
I would have loved to see them in concert, but I could never get the tickets to Europe. If the begin touring again, I will definately see as many shows as I possibly can afford. They were, and always will be, a great band in my eyes.
